Wolfgang Puck 12" Covered Non-Stick Everything Pan

Wolfgang Puck 12' Covered Non-Stick Everything PanI was actually looking for a reasonably priced pan in the 14" size before coming to the conclusion that 12" was as large as I was going to find if I wanted an included glass lid. Not being familiar with Wolfgang Puck cookware, I went to a store to "put my hands on it". This pan was sold out but I was able to look at other Puck items and they all seemed to be well made and well designed. The prices in the store made buying on line a much better deal.

Shipping was more than reasonable free and the pan arrived within a few days of ordering.

I skimmed through the paperwork and noted the key points.

The pan has a clad bottom and heats very evenly. I have noticed that it does not require as high a heat setting as my other pans. It does take a few minutes to come up to temperature; paperwork says to pre-heat. The non-stick surface seems to be very durable and is quite easy to clean but I have noticed that it is getting worn on the very upper rolled edge of the pan. This is a minor disappointment that has no effect on the function of the pan but I could not give the pan five stars because of this issue.

On to the handles...

Obviously the pan is different in that instead of having one long handle it has two man hand sized handles on either side. Though I keep pot holders handy I have yet to find a heat setting that requires them. This design does take some getting use to. Your hand is turned slightly different when steadying the pan wile turning food. You have to use two hands to move the pan a distance. This actually seems to be safer and less awkward than moving the one long handle style pan. I have found that the weight in the pan is balanced so I can't really call having to use two hands a draw back. This pan is much simpler to store than my one handle pans and always stores flat. The glass lid protects the nonstick surface if stacked.

Over all I am very pleased with the performance of the pan. I am also pleased with the entire purchase experience and feel like the value for my dollar is good.

At first this pan was great, I used it for everything. I always hand washed it & never used metal cooking utensils. I purchased this item on 03/01/2011 it is now 02/16/2012 & I can no longer use this pan because the non stick finish is peeling so badly.I recently purchased a new pan to replace this one & it is not wolf gang puck. I was trying to find out if there is a warranty on this pan but haven't found any information yet. Great pan until it started peeling.

When they called this the "Everything Pan" they weren't kidding. I keep it on top of my induction cooktop, ready to make anything at a moment's notice: Breakfast omelet, scrambled hamburger and onions for lunch, pork chops and sauerkraut for dinner. Cleanup is just a swish under the hot water, a quick drying, then back to its home on the range. This was a great buy and the Wolfgang Puck quality is top-notch.

Have used this several times...it is replacing 2 other pans of the same size that I've worn out.It works well for everything from eggs in the morning to dinner in the evening and works well if you are serving company buffet style. It cleaned up in a breeze!!!My only issue is that has alread developed a scratch in the coating... If you have have never had a pan like this I'm sure you will find it as useful as I have...I could almost never put it away and just leave it on my black glass cooktop as it looks so nice. The price was nice also.

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 14-Inch Mega Skillet

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 14-Inch Mega SkilletI was so pleased to find this item.Comparable items from the private "Pampered Chef" Executive line are twice as expensive. It turns out that the Anolon Advanced appears to be an exact match to their pieces. The quality far exceeds the typical Wal-Mart, Target, Penney's offerings. The thickness of the anondized construction as well as the fabulous "Dupont Autograph 2" coating makes these pieces perfect for family life.Having that coating on the outside really insures the beauty of the pieces is maintained over time. The Hard anondized construction is great but if you had anything spatter on it (like olive oil), you would always see that after it was washed and dried. With Anonlon Advanced you get the best of both worlds! The skillet it super huge so no worries about capicity.

This piece is huge!! I can do so many different things in this pan. I love the tough non stick inside and out!! Clean up is incredible. And it goes in the oven up to 400 degrees. I did a huge fritata over the weekend for the family, we covered it in cheese and put it in the oven. It slid out of the pan onto my serving platter, cooked evenly thru out no burning on the bottom (have you ever seen that when you start something on top of the stove) wow!!! I can not say enough about this piece, it was a great choice for us!!

We received our skillet a couple of weeks ago, and we are thrilled with it! We've used it several times already, and like the way it fits perfectly on the large burners on the stove. The skillet heats evenly, and quickly, and the high sides avoid alot of food mishaps, like oil sloshing over the sides, and food falling out when you stir it. The rubber coated handles are a lifesaver as well, since you don't have to scramble for potholders when you have to move it from one location to another. The small handle on the opposite side of the pan makes lifting a breeze. The nonstick coating allows for quick and easy cleanup as well.

Just make sure you have a spot large enough to stow this skillet in. It is BIG!

UPDATE... 5 Months, We have used this skillet for just about everything and I highly recommend this Anolon Advanced Nonstick Hard-Anodized Aluminum Cookware to everyone looking for great, heavy duty, long lasting cookware for the following reasons...

I wanting a big skillet, I use it 2-3 times a week for just about everything you can think of cooking and even on my grill. Now I did things to this skillet for a reason before I was going to buy a new set, things you would never do too nonstick cookware. I have Deep-fried, Seared, and once burned this skillet to the point "I thought" I had destroyed it. Once I even dropped it when it was very hot "in cold water" putting it down on the edge of the sink to cool. I have owned dozens of nonstick cookware over 30 years of cooking. I always went with less costly pots and pans sets but found that the nonstick coating did not holdup at all on the skillets. I tried just about every brand of nonstick skillets made over 30 years. I also use, good old cast-iron which takes high heat very well but as anyone knows, is very heavy. Why am I saying all of this... Simple!

Anolon Hard-Anodized Aluminum Cookware is "Heavy Duty" but lightweight; The Advanced Nonstick Coating on my French Skillet has ~very slightly~ turned brown in the middle most likely from when I burned it. If this had been another brand, I would have thrown the skillet away because, once you burn the nonstick coating, it peels and scraps right off! My Anolon Advanced Skillet is heavy duty, has taken high heat, like cast-iron but weighs a quarter of what my 14-in cast-iron pan does.

However, what I have done is find that this cookware can standup to abuse like no other cookware I have ever used. This is what sold me on the advanced nonstick coating. I know with the right care, and uses, the Pots, Pans, and Skillets will last for years! This is why I purchased a whole set of Anolon Advanced Nonstick Hard-Anodized Aluminum 12-Piece Cookware Set. "Are they worth the higher cost?" After what I did to this skillet the past 4 months "I'm Sold" they are the best cookware for the price! ~will be updating this again~

Take care not to burn the pan as it is not recommended for greater than med-high heat.I used mine on high to stirfry and the nonstick coating changed color slightly.Nonstick coating is durable and works well, but not perfect. Also, be careful not to burn yourself on the metal portion of the handles on either side of the silicone.

UPDATE: 3/2009 I have had this pan for about a year and a half and it is going bad.The non-stick coating is no longer working well and I am going to have to order a new pan.The non-stick coating on this pan was always a good deal "rougher" feeling than the Revere-ware pan I purchased at the same time and now it is starting to let food stick. That's why I am on Amazon today, ordering a new (NOT Anolon) pan...

Wow, I more or less just wasted my $43 on this skillet.I'd return it, but it will do as a 12 inch skillet for me.But I am very disappointed.

I had a T-Fal skillet that measured about 11 inches at the base, with a gradual slope up the sides that would allow me to pile a fairly good amount of fish, or pork chops in the pan quite easily.I have no idea where it came from, I may have gotten it by default when I got married. It has served me well over the years.

But it has some scratches and the non-stick coating is getting rough (still doesn't stick, looks like it is slightly bubbling.)I read that this means it is time for a new pan.

So I came here looking for a slightly bigger pan to replace it, as I always seem to have one filet or chop that won't quite fit or I have to cram the food in tightly.

So I settled on the Anolon 14 inch skillet that I am reviewing here.I also ordered a Revere Convenience 12-Inch Skillet thinking it could replace my smaller 10 inch pan that was also showing some scratches.

I received the Anolon 14 inch skillet and hauled out my tape measure and it has roughly a 10 1/2 inch base. The same as the cheaper, and smaller sized Rever Convenience 12-Inch Skillet. The top is 14 inches in diameter, but the base is the same as my 12 inch skillet.

How is that helpful? This is just a more expensive, takes up more space on the stovetop skillet with the same cooking surface area of my 12 inch Revere skillet!

I am not happy at all with this. The sides are very gradually sloped, so I can see that this might be useful if you are using it as a WOK or for vegetables, but for meats that you want solidly on the cooking surface, this is just a bulky, space stealing pan.

You're better off with something else.

Simply Calphalon Nonstick 13-Inch Round Grill Pan

Simply Calphalon Nonstick 13-Inch Round Grill PanFor the first few months I owned this pan, it earned five stars. The heat distribution is even, the nonstick surface is great...the only difficulty was cleaning the crannies where the grill lines meet the pan surface, but even that was a pleasure because I was always full of perfectly cooked chicken or steak. I bought the 11" square griddle, too, and it's great.

This pan lost all its stars because, even though I've been using nylon tools and Scotch Brite Multi-Purpose "Safe for Non-Stick!" sponges, the nonstick coating is coming off. I'm eating Teflon, or whatever it is they use to coat the pan. I can actually wear it off visibly by scrubbing it with a sponge. From a company like Calphalon, for a pan that's less than a year old, this sort of performance should earn negative stars, but one is as low as Amazon goes.

I've contacted them. If this turns out to be a manufacturer's defect and the replacement pan works for five years, I'll go right back to five stars when I update this review. I'll even revise it right when I get the pan. If I have to pay for return shipping, though, that'll cost a star. No way am I going to pay to return something defective just to get what I paid for in the first place.

I purchased this grill pan based upon it's best-in-class review from Cook's Illustrated.I have no regrets. This pan delivers excellent grill marks to meats and vegetables.I was pleasantly surprised by the large cooking area this round pan offers. In addition to performance, the price of this pan is hard to beat. It's an excellent addition to any kitchen.

I purchased this pan last Christmas (2007) locally for about $25.I had a pricey square Calphalon pan that we used but found it to be on the small size for cooking family meals. This larger round version is our favorite and is the pan that we reach for first when searching for a grill pan.The lighter version doesn't seem to make a difference in cooking & the pan cleans nicely.

Our use is not limited to hamburgers.Try bacon, other meats & even sliced veggies.

2/9/2010: We are still using this pan 3-4 times/week. It is holding up very well & still cleaning up nicely.

This pan size is great for grilling all your vegetables. Works great for asparagus because they fit on this large pan. Leaves nice grill marks on zucchini and bell peppers. Highly recommend.

Nordic Ware Pineapple Upside Down Cake Pan

Nordic Ware Pineapple Upside Down Cake PanAs some of the reviews below reveal, this cake pan was manufactured to be used for the traditional pineapple upside down cake.it performs as intended when you use a standard store-bought mix or common recipe for upisde down cake.If you get all experimntal and use heavier flours with far more protein content, you cake is gonna stick.if you must use a custom low-carb recipe, you are better off making your cake in a rectangle pan.

Nordicware usually includes a basic recipe with all their pans and mine came with it.it is sometimes on the reverse of the label so don't toss the label without looking. If you need a basic recipe, there is a very good one in the betty Crocker cookbook.

Another way to avoid sticking is to grease your Nordicware pan with crisco and then spray with baker's joy.Your cake should release easily then.

Remember, these pans were not designed for high protein cakes.use your rectangle pans for those.I am always amazed at how people blame a manufacturer for not anticipating their non-standard use of their products. The pan works fine.

Although this pan is surprisingly light weight, it's wonderful for upside down cakes. There aren't as many pineapple molds as there are pineapple slices in a 20 ounce can (which the included recipe calls for), but you can easily work around it. The enclosed recipe for upside down cake makes a very heavy, moist cake, but the batter was a little unsweet for my taste, so I added extra bwon sugar, and I will definitely use this pan and recipe many, many more times.

This pan is inexpensive and makes a particularly beautiful round pineapple upside-down cake. I plan to use it for apple rings also. The recipe included is good; I used cake flour and more flavoring. Takes seven pineapple sections and has a space for each in the pan pattern. I'm buying two more for gifts.

My wife owns several of these items and I was shocked when I got home and saw how flimsy this item really is. All of her other Nordic Ware is very heavy and thick and extremely strudy. This item is like sheet metal thin.

To the credit, it does have the same look about it as the other items she owns and it did cook OK. However, the heating times and cooking are faster in the thin metal and she did complain that it did not seem to be cooking evenly throughout and was a bit more done on the edges.

I would not recommend this item to a serious baker. I think it is a "cheaper" class of Nordic Ware if there is such a thing and i would not buy again from Amazon unless I could see enough pictures to know that I was getting the heavy duty stuff.

Want Nordic Ware Pineapple Upside Down Cake Pan Discount?

In theory this would be a useful pan, but you can get as good or better results with a regular cake pan. This one is larger 10" diameter, so it will make a bigger cake, and the impressions for pineapple rings look nice, but they really aren't needed.

My primary complaint is that the pan has no lip to hold onto when turning out the cake. (It may look like it does in the photo, but It Does NOT.) The pan, of course, is still hot when it's time to turn out the cake, so you need to use potholders or something to protect your fingers, but then there's no way to hold onto the pan. Having it fall back onto the cake makes a mess, and is aggravating.

Since I prefer to use my grandmother's pineapple upside-down cake recipe, I didn't bother using the one that came with the pan, but it's probably fine. The recipe is from scratch with the usual ingredients (all-purpose, not cake flour), not using a mix.

Always use an oven thermometer for baking, and remember that a dark color pan, which this one is, requires a lower temp and/or less time to bake.

T-fal A8210594 Initiatives Nonstick Inside and Out Oven Safe Dishwasher Safe Fry Pan/Saute Pan Cook

T-fal A8210264 Initiatives Nonstick Inside and Out Oven Safe Dishwasher Safe 8-Inch Fry Pan / Saute Pan Cookware, Greyi agree that the pan does have a certain limited life expectancy, especially under heavy use...but for those moderate cooks, it will hold up for a few years.I have had mine for about 2.5 years and i am a moderate cook myself. It is a great pan at a great price.Good heat distribution and light-weight materials, yet rather sturdy. The handle does wobble a bit, but its stayed in place just fine. This is my pan of choice for browning or caramelizing onions and garlic!! C'est magnifique!!Great pan at this price!!!

I have used the T-Fal skillet pictured in the past and was very pleased with it, but it is NOT what I received. The pan with the red dot heat indicator is shown. The one received did not have the red dot feature, more importantly it is much thinner and has a cheaper handle attachment than the one pictured. I suspect this is due to carelessness on Amazon's part, rather than an effort to cheat customers, never the less, it is effectively a case of "bait and switch," Note that this product comes from Amazon, not an associated seller.

My first bad experience with AmazonI hope my last!

Buy T-fal A8210594 Initiatives Nonstick Inside and Out Oven Safe Dishwasher Safe Fry Pan/Saute Pan Cook Now

First, I think expensive non-stick is a waste since the cookware has to be resurfaced or replaced once it's scratched or worn.I was looking for a super slick inner surface for not a lot of buck. The T-Fal pans were it.

The inside of the pans are very slick. They are not heavily textured like other pans. This seems counter-intuitive to me; expensive pans want to last longer so they texture their surface yet that adds more surface area for the food to stick to.As an example, I have a harder time cleaning the bottom of the pans than I do the inside.

The thickness of the pan is thin.It is thick enough to even low and medium flames but it cools very quickly. It's a very nice egg pan.

My only complaint is the handle.Even as tight as the screw will go, two of my handles still move slightly side-to-side.It's not enough to affect cooking, but it's annoying.

Overall, I'm very happy with spending $10 for a super slick pan.

Kinetic Classicor Series 4.4-Quart Tapered Chicken Fryer Pan with High Dome Window Lid

Kinetic Classicor Series 4.4-Quart Tapered Chicken Fryer Pan with High Dome Window LidI bought this pan specifically to use as my designated popcorn pan because of its depth and domed cover. For popcorn, a vented lid allows steam to escape and prevents the popcorn from becoming soggy.I am usinga T-Fal 11" vented lid. So far this has been an excellent pan for popcorn. It holds 3/4 cup of popcorn and when popped fills the pan completely, when using the aforementioned lid. It has a large flat bottom, and an aluminum base to distribute heat evenly.

I have not used the domed cover / lid but like the fact that it has a glass insert allowing sight in to the pan while cooking.I have not used this pan to cook a chicken so I am not able to attest to its use in that regard. I would be concerned about cooking anything in the pan that is heavy as the stainless steel seems a bit thin and the handle is attached with spot welds instead of rivets. There seems to be a significant amount of flexing between the handle and the side of the pan where it is attached.I noticed this when washing it. Only time will tell if the spot welds will hold. But for popcorn, I expect it to serve me well for a long time.

Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel Cookware Set - 18pc

Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel Cookware Set - 18pcI have had these pans for about 4 years now and i can honestly say these are great stainless steel pans!I noticed a single star reviewer complaining that everything sticks to these. My comment on that review is that they are NOT non-stick pans.I have a couple of non-stick pans that i use for eggs and other delicate items i don't want to cook with high heat. However, these pans are absolutely wonderful for browning and i love the big pot for pasta. My favorite pan is the large skillet. An example of what i use that for would be if i were cooking a meat sauce spaghetti i brown the meat lower the heat and add the sauce and when the pasta is done i can toss it into the meat sauce in that pan.It keeps me from making so much of a mess and having to do more dishes. With certain things you cook, there can be a fair amount of clean up with these pans (if you deglaze after browning you won't have nearly as much work to do).If you do end up with stuck on particles i found if you re-heat the pan up to high and add in some water most particles will come off with little encouragement.

There was another reviewer that said the handles leak.I have also not had any problem of that sort. In fact, i don't see how you could have that problem with these. They are very good quality, particularly for the money.

I have also found the spoons and such that come with this set to be very hardy and useful. They are a bit basic but i use them all the time and they still look as new as the day i got them.

I cook quite a bit and, in 4 years, haven't had an issue. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I purchased this set from Sam's Club and was looking forward to cooking many meals with them. Let me start by saying...they cooked GREAT, I could even fry eggs without them sticking. The problem was the handles, the two bigger pots both leaked water from the rivets. I was boiling macaroni and the water was under the rivets as it recommends, the foam from the macaroni is all that touched the rivets and that's all it took for them leak. I can only imagine how bad it would have been if the water would have been over the rivets. Sam's club was great, they gave me a refund without hesitation. If they changed the handles to non riveted, I would definitely buy it again.

Buy Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel Cookware Set - 18pc Now

The Wolfgang Puck Collection is fantastic as a full set of stainless steel cookware, however, as others have said, you need to know to first use oil ( I like Grapeseed for it's high heat tolerance) and then a bit of butter if you want that flavor, ( such as for scrambled eggs, etc..) After you're done, put a little water in the pan, use the spatula to loosen debris, then wipe. IT will be easier to clean once cooled down later on in the sink. You can't just put butter and make your food, then let it harden, and expect to not have to soak, and still use a stainless scouring pad. Taking the minute or two to do the above will make it a breeze. Then using stainless scrubber is still good, you can shine it right up, including the bottom, but fast, with nothing catching in the scour pad, (yuck!) I always had to use a scour pad this way with Revere Ware when I was a kid, nothing different, but until Wolfie showed the water method ( used by cooks in restaurants for years by the way) I never knew! My opinion with Teflon: Not worth it, if people don't take care of it, it peels and is then toxic, can't use a high heat. Forget putting in oven. YOu can use a higher heat with all Stainless all the way around, just have to learn a few simple tricks.ANy fool can cook with teflon, but it's limited and they don't hold up. Wolfgang puck holds up 10 years like new.. and going!

I bought the 18 pc. set at Sams Clubs a couple year ago. While cooking with the frying pans the rivets popped out.

They literally shot across the room. It only did it with two pans but no pots. I thought maybe since the rivets

were closer to the heat in the frying pans.

I loved this set so much I was willing to keep it and just buy more skillets. But I was afraid it would happen

again and one of my three kids or husband would be in the kitchen next time and get hurt.

My husband took them back to Sams Club and they gave him a refund without any problems. He came home without any

pots and pans because I just couldn't risk exchanging for another set.

I wrote a letter to Wolfgang Puck and told him what happened but of course I didn't get a reply.

PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN COOKING WITH THESE SKILLETS!!!

Want Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel Cookware Set - 18pc Discount?

Things I wish I'd known before I bought them:

The long list of "Do nots" on the care instructions. This cookware cannot be used on high heat, with high acid or high salt foods, or filled higher than the bottom of the rivets. This means if you don't want to void the warranty, boiling water takes awhile, forget spicy foods, and only use the bottom 1/3 of the pan.The rivets are located at midpoint, but very large so the bottom edge is quite a way down.)

The rivets are aluminum. They begin corroding IMMEDIATELY on exposure to liquid.Even when you only use the lower 1/3 of the pan, cooking steam causes pitting.I got rid of my previous set because of the possible negative health effects of aluminum in cookware, so I was not pleased to find aluminum leaching into my food from my new stainless steel cookware!

The total uselessness of WP's customer service. The pan I used most formed a "bubble" on the underside even though I was careful to follow all the instructions.I contacted customer service, who told me to send photos. When they got them, they said it was damage due to using high heat and therefore not covered.I told them I'd never used the pan on high heat, so they told me to send it to them for inspection.which cost over $10They agreed that it was a flaw in construction, and would send me a new pan. After nearly 4 months of no pan, (not to mention the couple months it took to get them to agree to send one) I told them to just give me a refund for the pan plus my cost of shipping. The answer was that WP doesn't give refunds!

My husband told me "Take it back!" as soon as he read the care and use instructions, before I'd even unpacked the whole set.But they were pretty and well balanced, so I said "No, I'll just be careful with them."Before I knew about the rivets. Now I have to admit he was right!

So if you want a set that's pretty, well balanced, and will rarely be used, this is it!But be sure to keep some bartender's friend on hand, because even for occasional use of the pans, you'll need it.And don't use any seafood seasoning, lemon pepper, or anything of the sort, as this causes discoloration that can't be removed.I just designated one pan to use for fish or anything spicy and live with the speckles.)

I've had this set for nearly a year now, and find myself back to using old Revere Ware and cast iron for most of my cooking.Truly disappointed in a product and company I initially loved.
