Zwilling J.A. Henckels Sol Thermolon Fry Pan

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Sol Thermolon Fry Pan: 10'I'm not sure about the reviewer who said the pan sticks. This pan is so easy and perfect to cook with. I have made fried eggs, fish, chicken, sauces, pancakes and more. I barely have to use any oil at all. Definitely love this and glad I took the chance to spent $100 on a pan.

This is my favorite pan and I have had it for at least a year. The trick to this product is to really not to wash as often as you can but to wipe it clean.Use a little oil if you must but it looks like the day I purchased it.I only wish it had a lid, but I make my own with aluminum foil then toss it after cooking. I have put it in the dishwasher and it comes out very clean and ready for use so please don't think I mean to not wash it often. I plan to purchase another one for sure.

I have bought all three sizes, they are fabulous to cook with, even heat distribution, cannot believe how slippery the surface is, food slides right out.If you never buy another pan buy at least the 12 inch if only one but the 10 inch is also awesome. Just frigging amazing ceramic coating. Don't wait!!!!!!!

I don't know what our how the previous reviewer used this pan, but I have been using it for several months in a professional restaurant and it works flawlessly.I throw this pan into the oven all the time, cleanup is easy if you let it soak for a minute.

This pan is everything it is advertised to be.I have done scrambled eggs in it and they did not stick at all and clean up was a breeze. I intend to buy 2 more of different sizes. I have used another brand of non-stick pans and have noticed an odd chemical odor when you cook with them. Also, the finish comes off on the food. So far, I am very pleased with this product.

Cuisinox Elite 8 Inch Fry Basket

Cuisinox Elite 8 Inch Fry BasketI was at first taken aback by the price of this fry basket, but after comparing similar brands, including some generics that were made of questionable material, I decided on this one. It fits well with my Cajun Cookware Cast Iron Dutch Oven 4.5 Qt., and hasn't showed any signs of rusting. My husband has "pannapped" this item as well as my dutch oven, so now I can't get him out of the kitchen!

Shef 10 1/2 Quart Premium 1200w Halogen Convection Countertop Oven Cooker complete with Accessories

Shef 10 1/2 Quart Premium 1200w Halogen Convection Countertop Oven Cooker complete with Accessories including: Extender Ring, Lid Holder, Steamer, Frying Pan, Skewers, Low Rack, High Rack & GloveI read a lot of reviews on Halogen ovens and the usual applies to this one. In small area's trying to set the lid somewhere and have enough room to prep food can be somewhat a challenge. That aside this thing is great. I noticed some stated that the timer didn't work properly from the start. I've used mine twice so far and its been spot on. At the moment have a pork roast cooking in it. I've made chicken so far and its awesome!

Packaging was great and shipped very quickly!

I'd definitely recommend this to anyone as so far it seems great. If I remember I'll post a followup maybe in a month or so.

Mine came with the name Shef on it.I guess it's the same.It came with all the accessories, more than the Sunpenton I purchased 2 years ago.It even came with a Christmasy oven mitt.Has extender ring, tongs, drip bowls and racks.Even though the settings are in celsius,it's not hard to understand.400 degrees fahrenheit=205 degrees celsius.Easy approximate way is to divide the fahrenheit temp 400 in half and that's the celsius temp(200).It was cheaper than most, looks like it's made in Germany so I take that as a plus.I'm sure it will cook perfectly. It came with english instructions and a small recipe pamphlet. What do you want for $40?But seriosly, you have to be an idiot if you can't put it together and figure out the temperature settings. It's in celsius not Japanese!

This is my third Convection oven. I have had 2 Flavorwaves. The first lasted about five years and worked really well. The second, which was the more expensive "premium" model, lasted about nine months; it then decided to only work at 500F. I've had this Shef for about a month now, and so far, so good. I especially like the ability to select individual temperatures. The celsius readings don't bother me, I simply made a little conversion chart. I am still trying to figure out how the timer works ... it seems to go a little longer than the setting so I now use a second timer to make sure things don't get overcooked. However, with all the accessories and the extender ring all included, this is a really good buy. Hopefully it will last awhile.

I originally bought this product 2 months ago for the ability to cook meat without defrosting. I'm a nurse and work nights and in the morning I always forget to take out something for dinner. Well this rose well above my expectation I can take a steak out of the freezer and cook it in half the time of a regular oven and it comes out perfectly cooked and juicy. I cooked a 16 1/2 pound turkey in 2 1/2 hours and it was browned and cooked perfectly. The Oven is simple to use and even came with the extender ring, upper and lower grills, tongs, cooking pan, steamer pan and a cute oven mitt for what the other ovens were going for with no additions. The Cooking Bowl comes out easy and washes either in the sink, dishwasher or turn the dial to the wash settingand let the halogen do the work for you, just wipe out the bowl when it's done. The only thing that would have made this purchase a 5 star was if the direction/recipe pamphlet gave more recipes and cook times. I would recommend buying a separate cookbook to learn all the different ways you can cook with this oven. All and all a great product I will happily recommend to all! Enjoy!

Lodge 10-Inch Cast Iron Skillet

Lodge 10-Inch Cast Iron SkilletI'm a 47 year old bachelor, a pretty darned good cook & entertainer, and I just cannot believe that it took me until about a year ago to discover the joy of cooking in a properly seasoned cast iron skillet; something that my Great-Grandmother knew 100 years ago. I decided to buy one just to try it out on a great looking Pan Seared Rib-Eye Steak recipe that Alton Brown of the TV Food Network featured on one of his programs (you should still be able to get the recipe on the foodtv.com website). His technique for the steaks just didn't work right in aluninum or stainless steel. After getting the skillet and seasoning it, I again tried cooking up the steaks. Incredible. After cleaning up the pan with a little hot water and a scotch-brite pad, then heating it up again until thoroughly dry and applying a thin coat of oil with a paper towell, I left it out on the stovetop to cool of overnight. The next morning I tried it on a couple slices of bacon and fried eggs... the eggs didn't stick to the pan! I was amazed. Good-bye to "disposable" non-stick pans. Since then I've purchased a few other sizes and find myself using cast iron skillets for almost everything, with good old-fashioned sharp metal utensils, the cast iron is virtually indestructable (cast iron cookware is not recommended for highly acidic foods). Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not about to give up my favorite copper Evasee, or non-stick omlette pan, or clad stainless steel saute pans & stockpots, or heavy Le Creuset French ovens. But my Lodge cast iron skillets have become an integral part of my cookware, and the 10-inch skillet is the perfect all-around size, in fact I now consider it indespensible. And... if you ever do "hurt" the skillet, just scrub it up good with steel wool or a scotch-brite pad and plenty of scouring powder, then put in through the "self-cleaning" cycle of your oven (or bury it in the coals of a campfire overnight) and it will come out looking just like new (be sure to re-season). Enjoy!!!

This pan is the second most used in my kitchen, after the cast iron dutch oven also by lodge. I've used it for pancakes, eggs, browning meat, stir fry and probably a great many things I've forgotten. It is easy to cleanand essential for my kitchen.

I use this pan all the time.Every good thing you've heard about cast iron cookware is true.I prefer uncoated pans like this to others like Le Crueset because they impart extra flavor; and, let's face it, onceseasoned, they look so damn cool.It heats evenly and quickly.Properlyseasoned nothing sticks to it.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron Giant Reversible Grill/Griddle

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron Giant Reversible Grill/GriddleFits over two burners on my stove just right and give equal and consistent heat coverage. Nice drain rim so that when you use the grill area the meat stays up off the heat and doesn't stick, as well as the meats fat is drained off to the sides.

Flip the cooker over and you have a flat surface that accommodates six nice size pancakes and four eggs well. Also can be used for making crepes I discovered.

If you can fit it into your budget buy two. This enables you to cover four gas burners on a stove and while you are cooking up bacon sausage etc on one you can be doing a bushel of pancakes on the other.

Have also used one as a heating plate. I simply place one over two gas burners and heat to hot, then turn down to low or warm so that it keeps the griddle-grill a consistent degree and then I set three containers I have vegetables, pasta etc in, on it and this keeps the food warm but doesn't overcook or burn the food.

I have used the grill side several times since purchasing it and am VERY pleased. It is a little pricey but it also has a coating that a Lodge or other cast iron grill/griddles don't have.I also believe the grill marks are superior to other grills. Tough to fit into the budget but I think it was worth it! First of all, for those people that are getting rust spots after washing, you must dry your griddle by reheating it until any excess water evaporates. I then rub a light coat of oil into the pan when it's still slightly warm. If you have the rust spots just wash the grill with a brush and follow the drying and oiling process I explained above. You should quickly build a nice patina to your grill. It should only take a few times of doing this because of the enamel type coating. BEFORE using this grill I washed it in VERY hot tap water with a brush to remove any coating that was put on at the time of manufacturing. This should also help with sticking food. I have also coated the pan heavily with oil the first few uses. I've grilled delicate fish and shrimp with no sticking. After it becomes somewhat coated you can build on this by just wiping it with a damp cloth and drying on the burner. At this point any sticking should be minimal. Don't use anything abrasive. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Buy Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron Giant Reversible Grill/Griddle Now

I've had this griddle for about a month, and am quite pleased overall. It is heavyweight, and has a tough black enameled finish that quickly builds up a slight seasoning (oily film) within a few uses. Foods stick much less than then would on a raw cast iron grill. It does a great job cooking pancakes, bacon, or grilling hamburgers or steak.

The only negative qualities are that it could use a larger reservoir for grease, and it would be handy to have larger handles if you need to pick it up hot. But these negatives do not outweigh its use.

Living in an apartment doesn't allow me the space to have the luxury of being able to grill foods and I love grilled food. So finally I broke down and put in an order for the Le Creuset reversable grill. I finally received this wonderful reversable grill just a couple of days ago and since then I have been grilling like crazy. The heavy weight of the reversable grill remains in place over the two burners while I am flipping the food which is quite helpful. I also like how the fat of the meat drips down to the side, meaning that the food isn't drowning in its own fat which a lot of health conscious people can appreciate. I just discovered that when cleaning the grill, it helps that it is under running water and/or soaking in the sink filled with soapy water but you have to wait until it has cooled off from being over the hot stovetop. I don't mind so much about cleaning it because I honestly love grilling food and everything else doesn't matter to me. I haven't used the griddle side yet but when I do it will be so much more convient than using a couple of pans to cook my eggs and bacon.

This is a very good grill. It heats and holds heat very well, and does a pretty good job of heating evenly, although there are "hot spots" on the grill in between the 2 burners.

A tip from my wife for cleaning is to put a damp paper towel over the grill when you finish cooking, and after it has cooled a little and letting it set.It makes clean-up a lot easier.

Berndes Nonstick Specialty Series 9.5 Inch Skillet

Berndes Nonstick Specialty Series 9.5 Inch SkilletWe owned a Berndes skillet that we loved and used daily for 15 years until it finally fell apart. We purchased a replacement that did not last 15 months until the coating blistered and peeled. When we contacted the US distributor we were told that we would have to ship them the pan (we pay for postage and packing materials), and pay them non-refundable $15, and then they would let us know if they would honor the warranty. Sadly, the poor quality and warranty administration adds up to a pass on Berndes' products.

SCI Scandicrafts 7-Cup Aebeleskiver Pan, Cast Iron

SCI Scandicrafts 7-Cup Aebeleskiver Pan, Cast IronI received this cast iron pan as an engagement gift from my aunt and uncle 26 years ago. Over the years my mom has tried several different pans made out of different materials, but she can never pull off the quality aebleskiver that I get using this old-fashioned work horse! My daughter wanted to make aebleskiver for friends at college, so I got her this pan because I knew it would work for her.

Yes, making aebleskiver is time-consumer, but oh-so-worth it! My 3rd generation (or maybe older!) recipe includes buttermilk and you whip the egg whites separately and fold them into the batter.

Here are some tips:

*Never try to cut calories by using cooking spray the aebleskiver will always stick. Put a little butter in each cup and turn pan to coat.

*I turn my aebleskiver with an ice pick that once belonged to my grandmother. She used it for aebleskiver, too! A metal skewer also works well.

*Figure out which cup cooks the slowest. Always fill this cup first and turn it last.

*The first batch never turns out that great. Once the pan is well-heated the other batches will be nice and fluffy!

*Observe which heat setting on your cooktop works best and note it on your recipe card. I have had 5 different stoves during my marriage and have had to make adjustments for each one.

Var sa god! The aebleskiver's ready!

This Aebelskiver pan is tops as it is cast iron, heats evenly, and is easy to clean.

The pan comes pre-seasoned, and only needs a wipe down with a damp cloth to clean. As it's cast iron, be sure to set the heat higher that you'd cook with at first, just to heat it up.After the first batch is cooked, you can turn the heat down a bit and the pan will retain its heat for the next batches.

For Aebelskiver recipes, check your favorite Danish cookbook.Add apple slices to make Aebelsvupper.Serve with jam and sour cream. If you are still looking for a good Aebelskiver recipe, you can always just use pancake batter as a substitute. Not quite authentic, but still quite good.Melt a little butter in each round of the pan, fill 1/3 of the way with batter. When the batter has cooked a minute or two, and is brown on the underside, flip over and cook another 2 minutes, creating light, fluffy, round Aebelskiver.

Buy SCI Scandicrafts 7-Cup Aebeleskiver Pan, Cast Iron Now

You've got to be patient. You will not be an aebelskiver making pro in one or two episodes. It takes practice.I mean think about it, you've got the bottom of the skiver all golden brown to perfection, the middle filled with apples or apple sauce, and now you need to flip the golden side to the top and the raw side to the bottom.

What chutzpah to think you will do it perfectly right off.Relax, turn the heat down a bit if it's going too fast for you and using a knife and spoon, gently release the cooked bottom and flip it to the top.

It really helps to add about and 1/8 of a teaspoon of oil to each hole before adding the batter. It both seasons the pan and keeps that little golden ball from sticking.

I like this pan, I like that it has seven instead of nine holes. The heft of the pan is terrific, allowing it to heat up evenly and with a little adjusting of the heat source you can maintain an even temperature.

If your pan is not a batter dribbled mess, just wipe it out thoroughly with a paper towel. If you use water on it, heat the stove back up, put it back on to absorb the water so your aebelskiver pan does not rust.

I love mine.

We use this to make our traditional Aebeleskivers (called Appo, Appam, Appe or Paniyaram in South India) Due to its weight I could not get this pan from India. I never expected to find this traditional pan on amazon for such a excellent price.

It takes a batch or two of aebeleskivers to season it well. Follow the directions in the booklet which comes along with this pan. We also threw away the first batch of aebeleskiver we made in this pan. That's a tradition at my home with all cast iron products---the second batch onwards tastes good.

Aluminum Heritage Lefse GrillIf you make lefse, this is the grill to use.I should actually just stop my review right here, because there's really nothing more to say.I will mention that there is now a teflon grill out, but the old fashioned Norwegian in me can't imagine how you would get perfect brown spotting on your lefse with teflon. If you have made your dough properly, sticking is not usually a problem. Its loaded with butter!!The controls are easy to use, and out of the way.Customer service with this company is great. My lefse grill is holding up after 20 years, but my mom did need some work done on hers and they are communicative and helpful.Fixed it right up!Don't be afraid, this is not rocket science.Trust me, if I can do it, you can do it.Order one today!

This is a fantastic unit and beats the other more cheaply made foreign versions to the ground. This will become an heirloom.

Fitz-All Set of 2 Replacement Appliance Knobs

Fitz-All Set of 2 Replacement Appliance KnobsThese knobs may work well in some cases but if the shaft is short the knob is useless. The set screw which is supposed to lock the knob to the shaft is about 1/2 inch inside the knob, and if the shaft does not extend that far out the set screw misses it entirely, and therefore is unuseable.

Product probably fits lots of "threaded" control stems but it does not fit "slotted" control stems on appliances like box fans. Definately not fits-all.

Universal N180 cast iron skillet set.

Universal N180 cast iron skillet set.I bought this set after the recent issues with Teflon. I did my research on all non-Teflon items and decided upon iron cast pans as the Aluminum pans do give off some aluminum into the food and may (key word here is may) contribute to Alzheimer's (according to some), and the Stainless steel gives off chromium and nickel into the foods, both of which I am allergic too. Pure copper with no aluminum is extremely expensive; a good set of a few items are $600+. There are also ceramic glass pots and pants made by Corning/Pyrex called Visionware (also known as Visions) that can be found on eBay (and a few are left here on Amazon) as they are no longer in production. Finally, there are also items made of ceramics and clay that should be safe alternatives

The items have been great so far, however, you will really want to do some research in google (or any other search engine) on how to care for them as there are some things that you really shouldn't do such as rinse a very hot pan in cold water (it will crack or break) etc. In addition, you will also want to so some research on how to "season" them which makes them very close to being non-stick (you basically smear them with an oil than can take high temperatures and "bake" the pans for an hour at 350 degrees Fahrenheit). I did this and I just made eggs from eggbeaters without any oil which always used to stick in my nonstick Teflon pan, but very little stuck in my seasoned cast iron pan.

The downsides are that the handle can get hot when it is left on the stove for long period of time and that you cannot stick the pan into the dishwasher (and I tried....it will come out a little bit rustier-but the little rust does come off very easily). The sizes are also a little bit on the smaller side for me. So I think I will buy one more in a larger size.

The upsides are price, no chemicals (except for some iron) in your food, easy to care for, and very non stick when seasoned. This is a great starter set.

So I have a set of cast iron pots inherited from my grandmother need I tell u there from the 1900's so the best way I can tell you is to Use vegetable or corn oil to rub down your pots and pans down. With the new pots and pans this may take several times to do before u get the shine that I have on my pots keep in mind my grandmother had them from along time ago so it's prob the original. When washing them do not use SOS pads for this will scratch your pots .after washing and drying just take a Lil oil and rub the pans down and this will help season and keep from rusting. I'm 40 and my mother is 60 and the pots are still in good use and I hope to pass down to my kids as my mother still has several sets my grandmother sure did love her cast iron pots

I hope this helps but all in all they are the best. Did I mention that my pots are black oh and if you wash your dishes in bleach like u do please make sure you run it down with oil

I purchased this set of pans based on the product description which described them as natural cast iron and that they need to be seasoned.Well this is not the case. The pans arrived and in big bold letters read "pre-seasoned". I was very disappointed.I do not wish to have a sprayed on chemical on my pans.I am not sure what pans the one reviewer received because she stated that they need to be seasoned.Obviously she received different pans from the ones I received.I spoke with Goodmans and they said they would send me an RA label to return the pans.I will get back to everyone as to what kind of credit I am issued and the time it takes to receive the credit.

Lodge Logic LPP3 Square Ribbed Panini Press, 8.25-inch

Lodge Logic LPP3 Square Ribbed Panini Press, 8.25-inchI had wanted a cast iron grill pan and press, but wasn't happy that Lodge only made a circular pan and press in raw iron.(They have a square set in enameled iron.)I bought this set the first day I saw the 8.25" press for sale after writing the company to verify it would fit the existing 10" square grill pan.The Lodge customer service department responded right away and their information was correct.

The pan and press are typical cast iron they are heavy, require some home seasoning, and need a little extra care in cleaning. But it's not all inconvenience and bother my version of "seasoning" is to brush it down with bacon drippings I save in my refrigerator specifically for new cast iron.Just heat the pan over low heat, lightly brush with shortening or drippings, and apply food (the colder the food, the more likely it will stick). To clean, use a stiff brush after soaking a few minutes I have a variety of toothbrush-sized implements for the grill pan that are really effective.Beyond that modest behavior modification, the benefits will far outweigh and outlast any non-stick competition.

I have a gas cooktop and a good cast-iron griddle with both flat and ribbed sides. I used this press to make perfect panini the first time. It has good weight to press the panini down onto the grill. The pre-seasoned cast-iron was easy to clean. Since it is not heated, the ribs it has are not used and really make no sense; a flat, heavy press would work just as well. You do have to flip over the panini to cook them to get the desired grill marks on both sides unlike using an electric panini press which has heated upper and lower sides so the panini can be cooked without flipping.

Update, 2011 Feb 24: Several commenters wrote and explained that this press is supposed to be pre-heated before you use it so both the top and bottom of the panino (singular of panini) are cooked at the same time. You can pre-heat this press right over the gas flame, on the electric element, or less effectively in the pan before cooking. One commenter said this press is designed for this and Lodge Logic should explain this in their advertising. I want to thank these commenters for explaining this.

Buy Lodge Logic LPP3 Square Ribbed Panini Press, 8.25-inch Now

I really like this press because it hardly takes up any space, unlike the electric models, and the results are excellent. Also like most (all?) Lodge Logic pans this is made in the USA.

What I do is this: I heat this press up on a separate burner from my Lodge Logic L8SGP3 Pre-Seasoned Square Grill Pan so they are about the same temp (350 degrees). I use an IR thermometer like this one Fluke 62 Mini Infrared Thermometer to determine how hot each piece is and adjust the burners but there are probably other ways to do it. 350 is hot enough to do a decent job grilling but not so hot the seasoning on the pan starts to smoke (that seems to start to happen at around 400 degrees). You could also just heat the press in the pan but the press will not be nearly as hot as the pan in that case so it won't get grilled evenly on both sides. Once to 350 I press the sandwich for about 90 seconds which seems to be a good starting place. Some might like them grilled longer. I do not flip them. I use cooking spray after every use while the pan is still hot which seems to help with the seasoning. I don't have any sticking problems, even when cheese squeezes out.

If you want to make great paninis then buy this press & a Lodge cast iron pan. I use this press daily to reheat sandwiches, and it's excellent. It's made in USA, has an even weight to it, & caring for it is simple. Be sure to read & follow the usage instructions, & you'll have a great tool to use for making awesome sandwiches. I love what it does with grilled cheese. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews because it was worth the money.

I've had this press for a few months now and have gotten a lot of use out of it. I use mine with myLodge Logic LPGI3 Pro 20-by-10-7/16-Inch Cast-Iron Grill/Griddle. I have a gas stove and let the press heat up over it's own burner while I assemble sandwiches. The handle does get hot but not unmanageable with a good hot pad. Once the sandwiches are assembled, I pop them on the grill pan and add the press. The weight of the press alone is good enough for all but the crustiest bread.

The press is large enough for a good size sandwich but I plan on picking up another so I can make multiple sandwiches at once.

I'd highly recommend this instead of an electric press. You cannot beat the high heat and heat retention of cast iron for a nice crisp sandwich exterior.

Pyrex Corning Visions Cookware Amber 7" Skillet

Pyrex Corning Visions Cookware Amber 7' Skillet
  • Pyrex corning
  • 7" skillet
  • "Waffle" texture bottom
  • Amber colored

I love this little skillet.

I wanted something to scramble eggs in without having to resort to a non-stick pan.

This fits the bill nicely.Non-toxic, sturdy, dependable and dishwasher safe, what more could you ask for.

There is a slight amount of sticking, nothing a little soaking and a plastic scrub pad won't cure.

I have two of this size.

T-fal Ultimate Hard Anodized Nonstick Expert Interior Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator Anti-Warp Base Dis

T-fal E9180764 Ultimate Hard Anodized Nonstick Expert Interior Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator Anti-Warp Base Dishwasher Safe 12-Inch Saute / Fry Pan Cookware, GrayI am no chef or cook.I only cook eggs in this pan in the morning, and I have been looking the world over for a decent well made nonstick pan.I bought those green ones you see on tv and they require prepping like wiping oil on the inside and then cooking them until they reach a certain temp.I returned it immediately.Another brand I looked at were the stone pans you see on tv.Mixed reviews there (I did not purchase the stone pans because they were expensive and the reviewers stated that returning these pans were difficult).

The T-Fal Ultimate Hard Anodized pan is solid and well made.It is about 10 inches on the inner dimension even though is it is advertized as 12 inch. This pan is huge however, and holds a lot of eggs.

This pan is truly nonstick.I mean I do not put any butter or spray Pam or silicone spray inside the pan and my eggs always slip right out onto the plate. They are easy to clean.I now do not use butter, oil, or Pam when I cook my eggs.I love this pan.I wished my entire set was T-Fal.I have stainless.

The heading say's it all for me..the pan still warps out in the middle after a few uses..it was perfect the first time i used

it..and this pan is very heavy i figured that it wouldn't warp like all the rest i got from t-fal..but it did and i'm stuck with it

for atleast a year while the NON-STICK surface lasts..

Then it's time to buy another one i just don't understand it,i don't put it on high heat..i wash it by handjust like it says

to do..i mean i treat this pan with respect and this is how it rewards me..so in conclusion it's just like the rest of t-fals

crap..so my advice is if i had to do it again i think i wouldn't but your not me..

This product not is warp-resistant. It lasted me approx. a half year and then warped at the bottom. It says it can handle the dishwasher. I had always hand-washed it up until a month ago. Then it warped. I suspect this has to do with the dishwasher. Either way, it doesn't cook evenly anymore due to the warping. For something that costs almost $40 for a single piece of cookware, I feel it should last at least a year or there should bewarning that it cannot really handle the dishwasher. Also, when I explained this to the seller, I was ignored.

Country of Origin: China

Price Paid: $30.36 (excluding CA Tax....)

I been on the fence about purchasing non stick for the longest due to all the health concerns about peeling and chipped non stick coating...

I researched for many years on non stick pans and were still unsure.

Finally, It came down to a set of four pans at $140 of another brand and T Fal, a stand alone pan at about $30.

I read the review on the other highly praised T Fal non stick pan but I read all the one star reviews regarding the "pop up" or warp issue.

This T Fal model was to address that issue and boy DID it answer it....positively.

We used it last night, no pop up!

Pros.

No lead, no cadmium, no PFOA means it's safe non stick...according to T-Fal.

The non stick coating on this pan is PTFE which according to T Fal is inert.

It's supposedly metal utensil friendly but I wouldn't take that chance.I bought OXO silicone spatula just for this pan.

At 12", The pan's lot bigger than I thought it would be.

However, It's also lot lighter then it looks,so it wasn't at all hard to handle.

It's solidly built with a non slip and comfortable handle. The handle didn't get hot while we're using it.

Cons:

No cons ...yet.

Only thing I can nit pick is that after first real world use, the water's not completely rolling off the non stick surface, but instead beading. When I first got the pan and washed it, the water would just....rolled off the non stick surface and only beaded on the outer surface of the pan.

This can be my winner of 2012 P.O.T.Y. award if it stayed non stick for next five years.

It might get there if i FOLLOW their very important tips of "not using higher then medium heat."

which I had no idea ........seems like a great product,so far.

I ordered this frying pan since the old one from Costco lost its non-stick layer.

Pros:

The pan was built in good quality. It gets heated quickly and it is light to handle.

Cons:

A bit too shallow and it is not good for saute veggie. But it works well with Fish, Steak, and eggs.

Le Creuset Forged Hard-Anodized 11 3/4-Inch Nonstick Stir-Fry Pan

Le Creuset Forged Hard-Anodized 11 3/4-Inch Nonstick Stir-Fry PanI LOVE this pan! It is amazing and is a great addition to my kitchen. It is very deep and large so you can fit a lot in it. I only cook for two, but still, with veggie stir-frys they can start really big before the water is cooked out with this pan you can still easily stir everything even when it has a lot in it. With my older pan, I had to "fold" things over carefully and would have a lot fall out the sides. This pan is heavy, but it is really easy to move around since it has handles on both sides. Nothing has stuck to it at all, it's been a complete breeze to clean and I can use less oil. We even forgot about it and had leftovers dry in it over a few days, and even with dried crusted on food, it just rinsed off! I am incredibly happy to have bought this. I also own the 8" forged nonstick fry-pan from Le Creuset, also amazing and highly recommended, and between the two I no longer use any other pans.

Purchased this stir-fry pan several weeks ago and I am really happy with it. Unlike other products which claim to be 'non-stick' this pan is actually non-stick great for health conscious people as you really don't need to use much oil when stirfrying.

This pan is quite heavy, so you know you are getting quality here and heat distribution makes for more even cooking (no hot spots).

Deep pan means I can cook a stir-fry/fried rice to feed about 4-5 people with an appetite, without worrying about over-filling.

Certainly recommend this product, especially at this price!

The pan is heavy and incredibly well made. Exactly what I was looking for. In difference to other Le Creuset products, it is not made in France, but in China. That does not seem to have any negative effect on the quality.

The build quality is good and it feels sturdy to use. However the diameter measures only 11.75" to be exact, not really 12"; so smaller than I expected. This should be described clearly in the spec page.

Progressive International Stainless Steel Roasting Pan

Progressive International Stainless Steel Roasting PanThis is the deepest lasagna pan I have been able to find, and that is why I bought it.I have owned it several years, but I don't bake or roast often. It has worked adequately.I have gotten my money's worth.

Because it is stainless steel, it feels lightweight. It is not made of thick metal, and therefore feels just a little cheap. Gourmet cooks might sneer at it.

Being stainless steel, it shows no signs of rust, even at the handles, after soaking in the kitchen sink. The exterior still looks nice. The interior does not have any kind of non-stick coating.

The spatula/turner/flipper utensil, which comes with the pan, has been very useful. It is thin enough to slide under food to be turned over in a skillet. It is a little flexible. We use the spatula very frequently. It is thin enough to slide under fresh-baked soft cookies, to remove them from a pan, without making a mess of the cookies. The end of the spatula is also useful for cutting lasagna, etc., into serving pieces. Not sharp like a knife, but adequate for on medium-soft foods; of course it should not be used on Teflon or other nonstick pans.

The rack can be put inside the pan, and fits nicely, for use when roasting meat. The rack is not high, so it would not be adequate for roasting something extremely high in fat, such as a goose or duck, that would result in a deep layer of melted fat in the bottom of the pan. [A goose would probably not fit in this pan anyway.]

The rack can also be used as a cooling rack for baked goods, although not intended as such. The wires are not spaced as close together as the ideal cooling rack; thus small cookies may fall through.

P.S.The handles are only easy to rotate when not wearing potholders. In other words, we try to remember to unfold the handles outward, before the pan gets put into a hot oven.

[Update-Postscript from February 2012]It's now 5 years since the review, and 12-plus years since buying the pan.Apparently the pan is more rugged than we would have guessed from the lightweight first impression.

At the time we originally got this pan, there were very few choices when looking for a truly deep-dish lasagna pan.Now it seems there are many more choices. There are better pans available, but most are higher priced.

If you are looking for a pan that can also be used on the stovetop, this is probably not a good choice. Please click on the "Comments" button just below this review, to see discussion about gravy and stovetop use.

I sometimes see pans that look identical, as far as I can see, but carrying different brand names. I don't know whether they really are the same. For example, here is a link to another pan that looks similar, but has a plastic lid for use when storing leftovers: ExcelSteel 4-Piece Stainless Roaster with Cover, Rack and Spatula

We are thinking of getting better oven mitts to make it easier to grab pans from oven; these improved versions of "Ove Glove" look promising: Ove Glove The Anti Steam Ove Glove Right Hand, Yellowith Whiteredand Ove Glove The Anti Steam Ove Glove Left Hand, Yellowith Whitered.Note that the left-hand glove and the right-hand glove are sold separately, at additional cost. The gloves would be way more expensive than this pan was, but of course the gloves would be used with other pans too.

I bought this pan to make more than two layers of lasagna no other dish/pan was deep enough to accomplish this.I was able to get four layers in this!Be prepared for A LOT of lasagna, however.I used two boxes of pasta, 6 jars of sauce, over 3 pounds of meat, and 16 cups of cheese. All of this did not quite reach the top of the pan, so there was no bubbling over (another added bonus).Clean-up was great; it soaked in soapy water for about an hour, then wiped clean. No scrubbing needed, even for broiled-on cheese.

Pan is very deep and perfect for lasagna, macaroni and cheese, or any other baked item.Clean up is a snap.Pan is lightweight and holds quite a bit.Didn't fit my turkey :( (but I got a very large bird).Look forward to roasting some meat in it with rack in place.Only difficulty is that it is hard to get the handles flipped up with potholders on! Also, included spatula is good but flexible, so it may bend depending on your use.Overall, a great product for the price!

I ordered this pan for Thanksgiving last year. It looks great, the accessories are of nice quality, and it actually managed to fit the 20-lb turkey that I was roasting... but when I went to pick up the pan to put it into the oven, I heard a loud CLANG and suddenly the right handle was in my hand, but wasn't attached to anything. I managed to catch the pan before the turkey went spilling out onto the floor, and was still able to roast the turkey without further incident, but I am disappointed that it didn't even make it through its first use without breaking. If you plan on using this for anything heavier than a few pounds, I would recommend looking for something a bit more heavy-duty.

I cook and smoke a lot of meat.I am a competitive BBQ cook.I have searched for a set of quality stainless steel pans that are deep enough to holdbriskets and roasts along with their juices.

These pans are outstanding for holding my meats in the oven, for roasting, and for transporting foods. They clean up easily in the dishwasher and do not discolor or scratch easily like some of the more expensive pans. The stainless steel spatula that comes with each pan is the best item in my double indoor/outdoor kitchen.

These pans are so first class you are proud to serve in them and you are even happier that they were such a great value.Did I mention, they hold more than most roasting pans because they are DEEP, but they will fit in most any refrigerator, oven, or freezer. They are one of the best items in my kitchen and are used weekly for something.

Norpro 7 Inch Stainless Steel Mini Skillet Fry Pan

Norpro 7 Inch Stainless Steel Mini Skillet Fry PanFor me the most appealing feature is the welded on handle so there are no rivets or screw heads in the pan to collect cooked on food or to clean. What the picture doesn't show well is that the handle is a split "wire" type rather than solid or tubular, there is a thick heat diffusing disc on the bottom, and the sides of the pan are mirror finish, but the bottom and cooking surface are brushed finish. It seems to heat quickly and much more evenly than the teflon pan that I used before to grill sandwiches and fry eggs.

This skillet discolors quickly. It works just fine, but it's appearance is stained looking after cleaning.None of my other skillets look like this.It is inexpensive, but I don't think I would recommend it.

T-fal Signature Nonstick Expert Interior Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator Dishwasher Safe 12.5-Inch Fry

T-fal C1190874 Signature Nonstick Expert Interior Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator Dishwasher Safe 12.5-Inch Fry Pan / Saute Pan Cookware, Black1. This one has the handle riveted in 2 spots, rather than 1 spot as in the old model, which makes the handle sturdy, with no loose play at all.

2. Old model had a metal disc in the middle, to help diffuse the heat more evenly. Problem was that after a while, due to heat expansion/contraction, the center disc went up, and the botttom was looking like a little hill. All the oil was flowing out, downslope, towards the perimeter, so one needed to put a lot of oil to cover the bottom. The new model does not have this disc, and it does not have the problem either.

3. Old model was a bit bigger, and heavier, and this is noticeable, but not too bad.

4. The new model has a center red spot that is supposed to brighten up once the oil is hot enough. IT NEVER CHANGES COLOR, NOT EVEN AT THE END OF THE COOKING SESSION. FEATURE DOES NOT WORK. This is the only reason why I docked product 1 star, but it is not a biggie for me.

I was looking for a perfect saute pan and this one is excellent!! Note-follow the directions-only use with low and medium heat--high heat will damage finish quickly ( which is probably how I ruined other ones)

Why is it that all of your pans, no matter when you bought them, seem to all die at once?Leaving you, of course, only with the small size 8 and 10-inch pans in which to cook large meals for hungry boys?

That being the case, I set out to find a replacement for my much beloved set of Tfal frying pans.I have Kitchenaid as well but the sides of them are so fragile and easily dented, that it's akin to cooking with aluminum foil. This pan, however, is just outstanding. There's a disk in the center that tells you when the pan is perfectly heated for cooking.Pretty cool feature, particularly if you're attempting to teach those hungry boys how to cook something for themselves.I have no problem whatsoever fitting whatever dish I like into this pan, the sides are somewhat shallow, so I can't always fix one of those "all in the pan" meals, but that's what chicken fryers are for, right?

Anyway, this guy is just awesome for everyday use. The rubber handle makes gripping very easy and quite frankly, if it's not purple in my house, then it has to be red or navy blue. So, the color on this pan is just awesome!

Great, great pan, have been using TFal for 25 years.Highly, highly recommend!
