Le Creuset Matte Black Enameled Cast Iron Skillet, 6.33 Inch

Le Creuset Matte Black Enameled Cast Iron Skillet, 6.33 InchI like the black color. This makes a great egg pan.It holds the heat even at low heat and cooks evenly. Also works great for a single hamburger.Cleans easily if you follow the directs.Would definitely buy again and is highly recommended.

Rachael Ray 3-pc. Nonstick Porcelain Enamel II Skillet Set, Orange.

Rachael Ray 3-pc. Nonstick Porcelain Enamel II Skillet Set, Orange. ()I haven't had nice quality skillets beforeThese are so awesomeThey make cleaning up so easy and cook eggs like art ( with only a little bit of spray ) Very happy when them! The only issue is the orange color under can get black due to stove flamesTake some extra scouring to make them bright and orange underneathOtherwise very happy

()I was so thrilled to receive this three pan hard enamel gift set from the Rachel Ray collection. The littlest pan is great great for caramelizing onions, sautéing small veggies for casseroles. The second is a perfect omelet pan as the size is perfect and your omelets coming away looking scrumptious. The third pan can handle larger projects. Each one is coated and nothing sticks.

Great gift idea and if you have Rachel Ray's orange dishware this makes a lovely addition.

()This 3-pan set (7.5", 9.25", and 11") is attractive and appears to be well-made, albeit not very heavy-duty.The outside is "hard enamel" and is two-toned orange in color (light orange approaching yellow near the rim down to almost burnt orange on bottom), including orange rubber handles. Here what the packaging says next to rachael ray's super-cute smiling mug: "Beautiful and Functional: stylish two-tone gradient exterior adds color and style to any kitchen. Plus, this cookware heats quickly and evenly, reducing "hot spots" that can burn foods."

These are advertised as non-stick pans that are "oven-safe to 350 degrees".They include a "Lifetime Limited Warranty."

Will have to take their word for it on most of the above.Time will tell how these pans respond to frequent use.So far, so good, however, the no-stick surfaces on pans have responded well.I would recommend to anyone never to blast these kinds of pans on high, as you're likely to scorch the bottom (no big deal) and start to destroy the no-stick surface (a bigger deal).

The smallest pan is one of those 'scramble an egg or two' pans that's good for very small jobs... this would make an awesome pan set for a college student or single person.

()Pretty simple: exactly as advertised...and I like the handles much better than the typical plastic-covered ones I don't have to worry about losing my grip for any reason.

I don't usually like the color orange, but it does brighten up the kitchen while I am cooking.

My mom likes my set so much, I think I'm going to have to get my mom her own set for Christmas.

Winware Commercial Grade Aluminum Fry Pans with Mirror Finish

Winware 10 Inch Aluminum Fry Pan in Mirror FinishThis is a good heavy skillet and I would love it if it had a good slip on rubber or vinyl handle cover. Even at low heat you have to use a pot holder to handle the pan. The handle, though plenty strong, is too thin and narrow to control the pan. This problem would also be eliminated by a handle cover.Winware 8 Inch Aluminum Fry Pan in Mirror Finish

This was a good buy. The pan arrived on time, in great shape and I love cooking with it. All Good things.

Sitram Catering 11-Inch Commercial Stainless Steel Fry Pan

Sitram Catering 11-Inch Commercial Stainless Steel Fry PanI was surprised at the weight of this pan; I have been a devotee of "Calaphon" for over 20 years.I am starting to convert to stainless little by little.I have some Cuisinart that is also very good, but I like this better.

The handles are angled up which keeps them out of the way and lets them clear other pans on the stove if you have a major cooking project going. The handle also has a gap where it is welded to the pan which lets fluids drain down rather than collect in a pocket. It can make your stove a little messier, but it is easier to keep the pan clean.

The interior is silky smooth and requires just a small amount of oil to keep food from sticking. The recommend that you use non-metalic utensils to keep from scratching it.The heavy layer of copper bonded between two layers of stainless on the bottom works great to distribute heat accross the pan.The side are a single layer of heavy stainless, so they do not get hot and cause food to burn on.

This pan is very well made and should last for a lifetime.

This pan is the BEST frying pan I've ever used. I am blown away by Sitram's commercial line. I compared this pan side-by-side with the All-Clad 11-incher, while baking dutch-style pancakes a great test in how fast the pan fries, as well as how well the heat is distributed and retained.

The Sitram fries more evenly, more quickly, and stays "smoother", i.e. it's easier to clean. I can only conclude that the copper-sandwich layer must be much thicker in the Sitram than the All-Clad. The Sitram (1770 grams) is 20% heavier than the All-Clad (1478 grams), which probablyaccounts for this.

Pancakes (and since that test also steaks, caramelized onions, sauces etc.) fry about 40% quicker. So upon first use of this gem, watch out, and turn the heat down if you're unprepared! It is just astonishing how much better this pan is, and that's while I was satisfied with the All-Clads. This pan will spoil you. Like me, you may never want to go back to anything else.

There's something about fry pans or skillets that do not make them universally useful. Unlike a saut? pan or a saucier that can hold lots of food, by design you just can't overload a skillet and expect it to work. Its angled low sides are engineered to release as much moisture as possible when frying so you can get a crispy outer layer.

Also, you can't seem to be happy with only one kind of skillet. For example, for frying chicken, chops, steak, hamburgers or the like, you can't beat a well seasoned cast iron skillet. For frying eggs or delicate food, you'll probably reach for a non-stick skillet (sometime called an omelet pan). So, when does one need a stainless steel frying pan? In my case, I use one when I need to fry or sear something crisp and when I want to build a sauce from the flavorful stuff that`s stuck to the pan. I just can't do the same thing on a seasoned cast iron skillet, because the sauce will taste different; besides you really are not suppose to cook anything too acidic or too alkaline on cast iron. On the other hand, since nothing sticks on a non-stick pan, you won't have the good stuff stuck on the pan which will be the base for your sauce.

In all probability, you'll have a cheap iron skillet and a non-stick skillet hanging around and will ask yourself why spend money on a stainless steel skillet when you can buy a more versatile cookware such as a saut? pan or a saucier or even a rondeau? I am not reviewing one's necessity for a stainless steel frying pan. I shall review this 11" fry pan based on its merits and perceived value.

This 11" fry pan is very well constructed. It shares the same benefits (e.g. heat conductivity, heat capacity, heavy weight, and very flat bottom) that other Sitram Catering cookware offer. However, there is one design limitation you must be aware of. The copper disk at the bottom does not cover the entire bottom. The inside diameter of the cooking area is 9 ? in. while the copper disk only covers less than 8 ? in. What does this mean? If you are frying a piece of fish that is wider than the diameter of the copper disk, the sides of the fish not placed over the disc will not cook as well as the part of the fish that is over the disk. Hence, you must be careful not to have food near the sides of the fry pan. IMHO, you do not have the same limitation with a pan that uses a straight gauge or fully clad conductor (instead of a disk). For this reason, I cannot give this frying pan 5 stars.

I worked in restaurants for many years before going into the federal gov't, and good pans or bad pans would show their true colours over time.

For those w/ any arm/wrist/finger troubles, know that this pan may be uncomfortable to grip the handle, and may be a little too heavy. The handle is not rounded, but thin and rigid for lack of a better word. The Profiserie Sitram line is easier and "softer" to handle. However, this pan is a powerhouse, if you will, and can handle and endure heavy use in the kitchen, which is why it is "commercial grade" in both name and quality.

I would recommend using only wooden spoons and spatulas in this pan. Pure virgin olive oil is the best to use to get the pan going when sautéing, but extra virgin oo is good for lighter cooking or when simmering. Using a wooden spatula (never metal) will keep things from sticking just fine -scrape when necessary w/ the wooden spatula. Do not forget to keep your wooden spatulas/spoons/cutting boards oiled too. (See my other reviews for suggestions on this topic)

Oil sprays are not necessary and only last so long anyway. This pan will become a valued partner in the kitchen. It is a joy to use knowing that you are using a high quality item. It is good to hand wash these pans and to use a little bit of "Bartenders Friend" to keep them shining like new. It is also good not to use high heat, but rather middle heat zones for smooth cooking.

The bottom line is that this pan is perfect, and beats a Tephlon or other nonstick pan in durability without trouble. In addition, unlike the nonstick pans, you do not have to worry about scratching it, no peeling of the coating, and best of all no chemical concerns leaching into your food -there has been much debate/concern about this. I do not use nonstick pans for anything.

I hope this is helpful.

Cheers,

Neil Etter

This copper-bottomed Catering line by Sitram is the best performing line of cookware around.I have an All-Clad SS skillet that is almost exactly this size and my wife and I both like this Sitram pan quite a bit more than the AC.The thick (~2 mm) copper disc in the bottom of the this pan means that it heats much more quickly and evenly than an aluminum clad pan like AC.When you remove this pan from the heat it cools quickly, too, meaning food stops cooking when you want it too. Also, its quite easy to clean up, probably because the stainless interior seems to be a lot more smooth than in other pans.If you cook often enough to be considering a pan in this price range, just get it.You'll love copper the first time you use it!

Gourmet Chef Stainless Steel Fry Pans with Lid

Gourmet Chef 8 Inch Stainless Steel Fry Pan with LidI couldn't believe it at the check out when it showed that the company was actually offering free shipping since they recently launched on Amazon. I bought this pot to replace my previous one that was very unreliable, and so far, this pot has been working perfectly. Once the lid was even dropped on the floor, and it didn't break. Not bad, huh?

I think I am going to order a couple more for Thanks Giving, two for myself, one for mom, and one for grandma. They'd love it.

I recently broke the glass lid on a still perfectly good 11 inch frying pan. When I went to the local stores here, I found I couldn't locate a lid without a pan.And as it turns out, you can't find all that many pans that come with lids to begin with. For some reason a lot of frying pans are sold as is, without an cover.Which to me is like selling someone a car without any doors on it.But sometimes you seem to run into that catch 22 situation with certain items. When I came here to Amazon, I not only couldn't find an 11 inch glass lid, but the ones I did find that were a little bigger or smaller were easily $20 or more.Moving up to a new pan with lid easily doubled that amount. When I came across this stainless steel set, I realized that this just may be the best bargain around for a new lid, with a bonus pan along with it.As for the pan itself, it doesn't disappoint. Its a good solid stainless steel with a nice handle, and a perfectly fitting quality lid. It's not the best lid or pan one could own, but certainly a bargain for the price for both.Although I agree with some of the other reviewers here that state that they received a tapered edged pan rather than the one picture, ( I did as well ), it worked put perfectly for me since my other pan is a straight edged one.The lid fits them both just right, and I have a new pan to go with the old one. This pan with lid is not only a quality set for the price, but also ships for free when bundled at the time of this writing.Whether you are in the market for a new lid at this size, or a decent quality set at a great price, I recommend this Gourmet Chef model.Believe me when I tell you they are hard to find even just for one piece alone at this price...

A perfectly good steel pan at the price except the handle broke while cooking. Amazon replaced it but then sent conflicting messages. The first said throw the old one out, your replacement is free. OK, done. Then I started getting messages to return the old one or I would be charged for two pans. My emails to Amazon were not answered. Finally I found a number for a real human who apparently saw the contradictory emails and let me off the hook. A lot of hassle from Amazon for nothing.

KitchenAid 12-Inch Cast-Iron Chicken Fryer, Garnet

KitchenAid 12-Inch Cast-Iron Chicken Fryer, GarnetLove the color, matches my kitchen, cooks evely and makes great homemade fried chicken. The only drawback is that this is a VERY HEAVY fryer.I am a man and find it heavy....a woman may find it difficult to reach up and take it off a high shelf.Best stored on a lower cabinet where you can easily lift it rather than high up where it will come crashing down on your head.

I guess I should have been more careful, but I didn't realize it would be this fragile. But the first time I used it, and cleaned it up, it had chips (chunks chipped out) on the ridges in the bottom of the pan. Otherwise it appears to work well. I guess time will tell if it was worth the amount of money spent on it.

Calphalon 10-in. Commercial Hard-Anodized Omelette Pan.

Calphalon 10-in. Commercial Hard-Anodized Omelette Pan.This pan is everything advertised. It is as non-stick as you can get without the dangerous coatings. My chef friend recommended that after cleanup and drying I coat the pan with oil.I use olive oil each time and the pan is becoming more non-stick with each use.You will have to change your cooking techniques:pre-heat the pan with no oils in it; don't soak for hours in soapy water (just a few minutes and it cleans up fine), use MUCH lower temperatures to cook beautifully and successfully. The pan is not too heavy and you can buy a glass lid for it from Amazon.Of course, Amazon was once again great to deal with and my order arrived quickly. This pan is worth every penny and I will be filling my kitchen with other sizes of the same type and company.

When I ordered this to replace a non-stick skillet I had left on high for 10 minutes or so, I thought it might have been non-stick.First use proved it had to be greased first.I began using half oil and half butter.Worked fine. After cooking a nice rib-eye, I scraped the bottom to make a fond, adding a bit more butter and oil, turning the heat up and adding some chicken broth.Poured the sauce on the steak and it proved to be superb.I have other non-stick skillets, but this will be used for steaks (and "omelettes").

T-fal Signature Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set

T-fal C112SC74 Signature Nonstick Expert Interior Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator Dishwasher Safe 12-Piece Cookware Set, RedWe ordered this set to add on to an existing mish mash of pots and pans we've had for years. The hope was that we could toss some of the older pans out.

Strong Points: Great coating, the food literally slides off with little effort. Inclusion of a couple tools is a nice touch (though not sure it's worth paying more for, as the tools probably retail for a dollar or two). Heating distribution is even, and so it cooks effectively.

Weak Points: Small. It's hard at times to convert 8" pot into a visual, especially when the pictures show things that look bigger. A few of the pans are suitable for children, but not big enough tocook something for a single adult.

Overall, the product appears well made, but I would go to a more expensive set with a larger selection of pots and pans if I was going to use these as my primary cooking utensils.

I am very pleased with my cookware. The quality is great and the price was right. Easy to clean up after use.

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Omelette

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 10-Inch OmeletteThis pan is a fantastic workhorse. It's the 'go-to' pan in my kitchen. It goes from stove-top to oven/broiler without missing a beat and without doubts from the cook. Heats evenly and quickly, and the handle stays cool (on the stovetop), unlike some much more expensive copper pans with cast-iron handles I've used. This pan meets or exceeds the French & Belgian copper I've used, in terms of kitchen performance; the only place it might rate 2nd is in the aesthetics area, if one prefers a copper/cast iron look and European pedigree. The Calphalon was made in China.

But honestly, the Calphalon pan is one I never have to second guess it does exactly what is asked of it.

For anyone with qualms about foods catching in the pan, do the following:

1. Pre-heat the pan on MEDIUM heat prior to putting any food/oil/butter in it. Once the pan is hot, one can add the food. For example, I've put raw, unseasoned steaks in this pan once it's hot. The meat will adhere for 20-30 seconds until the pan-side is seared, then can be moved, turned, etc. quite as easily as if the pan had a Teflon coating. Eggs also are loose, as long as they've been put into a hot pan that has had a bit of butter added. A fried egg slides around after 20-30 seconds as though it was on ice, as long as one has begun with a HOT PAN.

2. This pan heats up nicely at 60-75% of the burner heat capacity; i.e., if your burner goes from "0" (cold) to "15" (max heat), you shouldn't need to turn it above "11" to get a nicely heated pan that will respond to your culinary desires. Remember it goes to "11."

3. Throw this pan into the oven at 300-F for hours, or under a hot broiler for 10 minutes. And forget about it I have had no warping or any problems whatsoever.

4. The pan cleans easily. Let it cool. Then any stuck-on bits wipe out with a splash of water. If something has really caught, scrape the stainless steel surface with a flathead screwdriver; it will be fine. After several years, I have some superficial scratches on the interior surface, but it's still shiny. The bottom of the pan is slightly tan in places, but again it's just superficial surface discoloration (much less than an All-Clad pan I have, which shows much more brown heat-scarring).

In sum, Calphalon has a fantastic 10-inch pan here. Life is too short to fret over a frying pan anyway.

If you want one, get it. It can probably deflect a hail of bullets too, if an angry mob should appear or one could just fry up some bacon in the pan and toss it to the mob to placate them.

You have to follow these instructions if you want to cook in a stainless steel pan like a pro (instructions from my father :p):

1. Put the pan over low heat without oil in it for a while; a while is usually until you can drop some water on it and see it evaporate pretty quickly.

2. Pour enough oil to coat the bottom and since the pan is hot, you want to make sure that you add your food after you've swirled the oil around in the hot pan a few times to coat the bottom.

3. Make sure there's a little bit of oil in the pan at all times, otherwise you're going to end up burning the oil on the pan.

4. After cooking remove the food and rinse off the pan under hot running water, right away; don't use cold water as it might warp the pan.

All in all, I love this pan, but I would really love it if it came with a lid; I know, it's a fry pan, but I can cook and I want a lid for my more creative projects!!!

Buy Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Omelette Now

I own several pans from the Calphalon Tri-Ply collection and believe these are great pans for many uses.Anyone saying these pans don't clean easily is clearly doing something wrong. These pans are not "non-stick" so yes, there may be some elbow grease involved from time to time, but good luck searing a piece of meat with a non-stick pan. These pans do get hot easier and faster than some cheaper pans, especially because a lot of cheaper pans only heat the bottom of the pan by heating an encapsulated disc bonded to the bottom where as these pans heat throughout the entire pan. Make sure when using these pans you get them nice and hot and make sure you have some fat in the pan before adding food.Bar Keepers Friend works great at removing residue stuck on the pans that dish soap usually isnt able to remove on its own.

After using this wonderful pan one can only conclude that negative reviewers, despite their statements to the contrary, must have misused their pans in one way or another. No pan, no matter how well-constructed, can survive abuse unscathed.

I had been using a good-quality hard-anodized omelet pan for my fried eggs.Seemed OK, but I decided to try a stainless steel pan and chose this one.I am delighted I did.The pan has good weight to it, and is beautifully constructed with a brilliant finish.

I put a little butter in the pan over medium-low heat. The butter melted more quickly and evenly than it did in my non-stick pan.I cracked two eggs and continued cooking over a fairly gentle heat. They cooked thoroughly and evenly. After gentle prodding with a turner they slid around the pan better than they ever did in the non-stick.I never had to turn the heat up high at all.

I am sold and it cost me:I ordered replacements for all sizes of my pans.I will, however, keep this pan as a dedicated egg pan.I think that, along with careful cooking and clean-up, will insure a long life of good service.

Demeyere 85624 Resto 9.4" Ecoglide Frying Pan without Lid

Demeyere 85624 Resto 9.4' Ecoglide Frying Pan without LidI own several pieces of Demeyere Apollo that I bought from Amazon, and I'm perfectly happy with them. I owned this pan as well for a couple of years, and was happy to shell out the bucks thinking that, unlike cheaper nonstick pans, it would actually last for five years or so. Sadly, that wasn't the case. It was great for making pancakes and omelettes, but the nonstick coating didn't hold up against scratches no matter how carefully I tried to baby it (plastic and wooden utensils only, keeping it separate from the other pans, hiding it from the cleaning lady--you name it!). Last month it was ruined during a move by a careless packer, and I was faced with buying a new one (even more expensive now) or trying something else. I bought a cast-iron pan from Target a couple of weeks ago and tried several times to make pancakes, and it was just impossible. They kept sticking and burning no matter what I did. (Apparently our mothers' cast-iron pans were machined smooth, and the new ones are all rough, and aren't good for much except frying meat.) Today I had an idea: how about a crepe pan? DeBuyer makes very highly rated steel crepe pans sold on Amazon and at high-end shops, and they're supposed to be excellent for pancakes and omelettes. The one I just ordered was only $19. I guess if you have health conditions that severely restrict your use of cooking oil, this nonstick pan is a good idea. Otherwise, you might be better off with something much less expensive that doesn't have nonstick's chemical and scratching problems. Good luck!

Tramontina Pro 3004 Nonstick Aluminum Restaurant Fry Pan, 14"

Tramontina Pro 3004 Nonstick Aluminum Restaurant Fry Pan, 14'the quality is everything i expected. I was very happy to find a 'made in USA' product i could cook in.

Two cons for me, but neither is the products fault: it's really big I think the 14" diameter is the base, the top flairs out to several inches more. Think of where you'll store it before you buy it.The second is common to all teflon aluminum pans -you're not supposed to cook with higher than 'medium' heat -that REALLY draws out the cooking time. Again, not the product's fault-i should have known.

Could't be happier with this product. The size of the pan and the non-stick capability was the reason I purchased it, thanks

Santa Fe QM2R 900-Watt Quesadilla Maker

Santa Fe QM2R 900-Watt Quesadilla MakerThis Quesadilla maker lets you get creative with your quesadillas. Of course you can make quesadillas on the stove-top in a pan like some reviewers suggested...but this makes it easy, no-mess and you don't have to stand at the stove top to flip, so you can bring it to the table and have a tabletop party.

What I love is that I can make quesadillas with very little oil in this maker as opposed to stove top. The quesadillas come out crispy and with distinct segments that I can quickly cut with a pizza cutter. I love serving the wedges as snacks at cocktail parties, especially as they come out crispy and sealed and can be served as a finger food.

There is also no end to fillings. My favorites 1) spinach/sundried tomatoes/cheese or 2)mushrooms/red peppers/grilled chicken/provolone cheese or 3)mashed potatoes seasoned with red onions/green chilli/cilantro/a dash of any good spice mix/a light sprinkling of cheese 4) roasted corn/red pepper/black beans/cheese 5) broccoli/chicken/cheese 6) spicy turkey mince cooked Indian "keema" style with green peas and tomatoesas you can see the list of yummy ingredients goes on and on.

I just prep the surfaces with a quick spray of olive/canola oil and don't use much cheese. So much better than the calorie rich quesadillas you get in restaurants. You can even use any tasty leftovers/casseroles as stuffing for the quesadillas. My family and friends simply love the quesadilla parties where I lay out many ingredients and they can mix and match and make their own quesadillas.

Some tips: If you use cheese try using the natural cheese which creates less mess than the melting processed variety. Also buy the bigger tortillas so that the whole surface is covered and the edges are neatly sealed. If you must use a small tortilla, put less filling right in the center and go very easy on the cheese, or it will seep out and create a mess. If you do get a mess, it is very easy to clean it off with a damp paper towel right after you take out your quesadilla.

Napoleon Dynamite's grandma would be proud to own one of these!Works great. One little tip before you head to the grocery store... you must use the LARGE "burrito size" tortillas with this.If you try to use smaller tortillas like "taco size" or "fajita size," they won't extend out to the part of the grilling surface that seals the edges and your melting cheese will flow out the sides. The instructions say you must use a 10" diameter torilla. That's usually sold as "burrito size."I agree with Diane that an on/off switch would have been a nice feature, but it still works wonderfully.

I love this product! Try it with the flavored tortilla wraps they have out now, I had a great spinach tortilla quesadilla with green chilis, awesome, after that I had to buy one for myself and I don't regret it. It preheats within five minutes, flop a full-size burrito tortilla or wrap on there, load it with fillings, throw another one on close the lid, let it heat and there you are: lunch in under fifteen minutes, it's that easy. Since I am very lazy about any sort of cooking, this has made my lunches so much more fulfilling. Another note, so far, none of the fillings I've used have stuck to the nonstick surface and it is easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth or sponge. Just don't overfill the tortillas or they won't seal at the edges and the fillings will leak out.

I have a cheese quesadilla fanatic for a husband and never could get his approval when it came to making his favorite at home. Tried the oven and broiler method and just ended up with either a soggy mess or a burnt beyond edible trash can item. Well, I happened to stumble upon this handy little item. Wow, has this made my life easier. Better yet, He can now make his own. It makes the most wonderful quesadillas ever. Just a few minutes in the machine and you have the perfect snack. They are sealed and have the perfect consistancy. And don't know why but stay warmer longer than others. I figure this is due to the sealing of the tortilla. I also love the separations in the cooker. It makes it so easy to serve and gives it a real professional look. I have also tried a few of the recipes that come along with the machine and they were just great. Give this maker a try. It really will make your life easier, whether it's for your quesadilla fanatic or for the kids afterschool snacks. Also, Stands on end so it's easy to store.

Stoneline 11 Inch Stone Tough Non-stick Roasting/Grilling Plate

Stoneline 11 Inch Stone Tough Non-stick Roasting/Grilling PlateI am not a big fan of the no stick coating pans because most of them you still need to put oil on them and the coating just seems to fall off after a few days of kid glove treatment, so with that in mind, I saw this on add at Amazon.com and thuoght why not, one last try, to see if it works, if it doesn't, I'll return it to amazon and get my money back, so I bought it and I am glad I did, first the stone coating works real well you just have to remember to season it like cast iron griddle, and when the pan heats up it realy smells like hot stone, the meat tasts like wow!!! I had a long time ago in Seattle a steak cooked on a rock gridle and it was realy good and so was the chicken I cooked last night, and clean up was a brease, the only thing is be careful what pot holder you use to lift the lid I nearly dropped the glass lid because of my oven mit, I didn't feel that dropped the over all score ,but FYI.

I purchased this product several months ago and it is wonderful, I use this quite often for cooking steaks when the weather prevents me from grilling..

This grilling plate is good but could it be better. The spacing between ribs should be wider. The food is sticking and getting stuck between them which makes a hard to clean. Polymer handles that it has slide very easy so is very dangerous when it comes to handling it when hot. I personally don't use them for that reason.

So for the money would I buy it again? The answer is NO I would not. Would I pay $50.00, Maybe. (No More)

Edit it 04-24-11

It was good brand new but then junk.........

This pan I put it in the garbage. The food was sticking to it between the ribs. It was hard to clean and time consuming so I just got a

Lodge Logic L10SK3 12-Inch Pre-Seasoned Skillet for $18.00 and is much better then this junk pan for $100.00 plus.

Scanpan Classic 14 1/4 -Inch Glass Cover

Scanpan Classic 14 1/4 -Inch Glass CoverI was afraid that since the description says 14 1/4 inch lid, that it might not fit my HUGE 14 inch All-Clad frying pan. This lid not only fits PERFECTLY, but it is a work of art in itself! ALL-CLAD does not make an accompanying lid for their very largest frying pans, and although I had found a lid years ago, it looked cheap and its aluminum bent ever so easily! THIS one is sturdy and is made from the finest quality materials and the dome allows even more possibilities than a flat lid does. If you have a huge frying pan, take a chance at this price! I am so happy with this lid and its perfection! I mean, how do people pan-fry ANYTHING in a 10 or 12 inch frying pan when nothing should be crowded as you pan-fry? GREAT quality and GREAT price and perfection has been found!

It's not easy to find 14 inch glass lids. This scanpan lid works even though the pan is not a scanpan!

It's one thing to break the lid that comes with a pot or pan.But it should be outlawed to sell a huge pan with no lid.My mistake. bWith my new, perfectly fitting lid, the mistake has been rectified!!!

KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set

KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set, RedI have a big family, with big-eating teen boys, and I use my pots and pans daily. I honestly had wanted to purchase the Cephalon set, but just couldn't afford it. I saw this set loved the red color and purchased it as a "second choice" boy am I glad I did! The biggest frypan is used at least twice a day without fail! They all still look nearly as good as the day I bought them about two years ago the nonstick coating is still perfect and works beautifully. We handwash them there's never room in the d/w for pans anyway and literally I never even put the fry pan away, just turn it upside down on the stovetop. They cook so evenly, never scorch, and even when I overcooked the rice one night it just browned inside and literally wiped out with a paper towel.

I received this pots and pans as a birthday present to go in to my newly remodeled kitchen.I love the red color!I have arthritis so I really liked the weight of the pots and pans and the handles were easy to hold. They are light without feeling flimsy. They cook like a dream with no sticking.

I was really excited to receive this new cookware when I ordered it online. the colors are really nice, red is my fave color andfrying is not that hard anymore. when I fried some egg rolls and fish, it is evenly cook and so i am guessing that the heat is evenly distrubuted in the entire frying pan. i think the price is in the right range. i hope this would last 5-10 years, its predecessor lasted for almost 10years :)

()I have this set of KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick Cookware and a set of KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware and the latter is definitely worth the extra money. When I created this review the KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick Cookware was selling for $150 and the set of KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware was selling for $178, so my criticisms are based on the savings of only $28.I would not pay more than $125 for the KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick Cookware Set.

This set KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick Cookware is MUCH thinner and lighter weight, the heat distribution and retention is less impressive than the Gourmet Anodized set. These pans are so light I would only recommend them over the Gourmet Anodized set if you have mobility issues and are purposely seeking to fill a need for lightweight cookware.

All the pot sizes are smaller and less useful and the handles are not as good as the Gourmet Anodized. You do not get an 8 quart pot for cooking pasta, the squat 6 quart pot that comes in this set is smaller than I like to cook spaghetti, but will make a good soup pot.You do not get a fry pan you can cook more than 3 eggs in, so you will probably need to purchase an additional fry pan of larger size.If you have a lot of big pots already, this set may be a good filler set to have smaller pans to choose from.

The red color of this set is a very dark brick color, darker than the photo even, so if someone is wanting a true red this is not a good choice esthetically.I think the KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware set is better designed and more attractive with its Windsor shaped sides; the narrower bases look nice and allow better fit on smaller stovetops without compromising on size. The KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware does not come in colors, but if I have to choose between matching decor and function, I would choose function.

All that said, this KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick Cookware set is much better than the starter sets you see in Bed Bath & Beyond for $75-$100.So if someone you know has one of those cheaper-made cookware sets on their wish list, spend the extra money on this set and really delight them. If you are looking for pans to last a couple decades, spring for the KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick Cookware, I bought the additional two-burner griddle and it is GREAT too.

I bought these pots in July 2011. They started flaking paint after a couple of months and it just got worse. See pictures above. I have now had them about 6 months and Kitchenaid will not replace without a receipt. Worst customer service ever. Amazon has lots of other good choices, keep looking and know you have the security of buying from Amazon.

All-Clad Stainless All-Purpose Pan with Domed Lid

All-Clad Stainless All-Purpose Pan with Domed LidCheck carefully before buying from All-Clad.

Many of their items are now being produced in China & quality has suffered.

I ordered a piece which Amazon's description said was made in the USA.

I called the company & they said ALL the braisers are now made in China but the quality is just as good.

NO......IT IS NOT!

The 3 ply is only on the bottom & does NOT go up the sides.

They are lighter in weight.

They are NOT usable on Induction Burners.

YES.....they are a bit lower in price....BUT STILL EXPENSIVE.

What bothers me is that All-Clad is being less than forthright in informing consumers

of their MADE IN CHINA merchandise.

I ordered an All-Clad fry pan and was hooked on All-Clad stainless ever since.I finally realized it wasn't me but the cheap pans I had been using. And I've bought 5 different ones within the last year. But this pan doesn't compare.Actually its quite awful in my opinion. Its extremely light weight (almost cheap) and thin compared to the fry pans, french skillets, and saucepans I have. The lid to my saucepan is thicker than this pan.The spoon is better made than the pan.The first one I received had some imperfections inside the pan and you could see swirls where they were buffing it.Also where the handles are attached, there was a huge dent, almost a hole.I called All-Clad and they said it was defective so to return it to Amazon.I sent it back and the replacement still had the swirls and not as big of a dent by the handle. But because of the rapport with All-Clad I kept it.I've used it a couple of times, but its small and everything I have tried has burned regardless of what I do.I wish I could send it back. The best part of this whole deal is the red oven mitts since I brown my meats on the stove and then transfer the pans to the oven. The handles do get hot but these oven mitts help.Other than that, save your money and buy something better from All-Clad.

I returned this pan ONLY due to the incorrect info in the description. I wanted a 13" bottom cooking surface, NOT the measurement across the top of the pan. Other than that, the pan is well constructed, nice and medium weight, looked like it would be a workhorse, if a smaller pan is what you want.

I ordered this pan a few years ago from another site because it was unavailable on Amazon at that time.

Itis of the usual All Clad high quality. It is a versatile cooking pan that can be used on the stove top and in the oven. The aluminum core bottom makes it heat quickly and evenly which makes it more energy efficient to use. Of course, the heat must be adjusted accordingly to compensate for this or your food will cook too fast.

The included spoon and mitts are a nice addition.I use the red oven mitts when taking it out of the oven, but when needing to steady it on the stove top I prefer to use a Le Creuset Silicone Set of 2 Mini-Cool Tool, Dijon as a potholder for the handle. I also use these as coasters and to place in between items to keep them from sliding around and rubbing against eash other while traveling. If they become soiled I just wash them off in the sink. They do not stain and are very durable which makes them not have to be replaced frequently. This makes them kinder to my pocketbook and the environment.

I really appreciate it not having a long handle that would waste space in my RV cabinets.

Loving the All-Clad cooking experience myself, I bought two of these sets as gifts for my two daughters for Christmas. Both had expressed a need for new pans recently, but had "hinted" that they wanted one of the new sets stamped with a particular celebrity chef's name.

I really wanted them to have the experience of cooking with All-Clad, a pan that lasts a life-time, consistently bears great meals, and cleans up easily and perfectly. I anticipated some disappointment when they opened their Christmas gifts, as it registered to them that they got ONE pan rather than the next shiny colorful set bearing Rachel's name, a set that I was sure would be in the landfill in about 5 years just as the previous less expensive sets they received are going.I sat confident though, as I witnessed the quick expression of disappointment quickly recovered with an appreciative smile, sigh, and thank yous as they opened their gifts.

But within a month, both daughters have come to me individually and stated how much they love their new All-Clad pan! They love the size, the versatility of use, the way it properly cooks everything they have used it for, and the way it practically wipes clean after cooling to room temperature. They have even begun their own hunts to begin building their own set of All-Clad pans for their own kitchen and families My Christmas wish come true!
