Total Chef TCCZ02SN 3-Liter Czech Multi Cooker with Temperature Control, Black

Total Chef TCCZ02SN 3-Liter Czech Multi Cooker with Temperature Control, BlackI had an older version of the Czech cooker (called the Remoska) when I lived in the UK.It was the same, except that it didn't have a variable heat control or a lid holder.UK electrical domestic appliances aren't compatible with US power supply, so I had to leave it behind, and for the last 4 years I've been searching for one in the USA.

It sounds an unlikely promise that you can cook such a wide range of foods in this cooker, but it really is true, and the fuel costs are absolutely minimal. It heats up quickly and cleans very easily (sometimes with just the wipe of a piece of kitchen paper). The window in the lid allows easy progress checking, and there's no steam or odor escape. When not in use it's light and compact enough to be put away, needing only the space for a large pot or casserole dish, but I use mine so much that it stays on the counter top.

I've used my Czech cooker for baked and boulangere potatoes, fish, casseroles, chops, chicken breasts, shepherds pie, frozen French fries, processed goods such as pot pies and burgers, French sticks (in pieces) and bread rolls. The cooker preserves moisture in foods and gives much better results than my toaster oven for delicate foods or ones with a tendency to dry out.Unlike crock pots, the cooking time is the same as for conventional ovens and doesn't need lengthy preheating. The heat comes from the lid rather than underneath, so foods much as cheese toppings get a nice light browning that can't be achieved in a microwave.

Although the purchase price is more than your average toaster oven I'd recommend this product to anyone who cooks small quantities, or has a small kitchen or a camper van.I'm anticipating getting many years of service from it, which will more than justify the outlay. My sister in the UK still uses my old one daily, and it's still in perfect working order after ten years.

I bought this for my over the road, truck driving husband. This really does heat food quickly, it even gets chunks of meat hot in the middle when reheating.

This is a Remoska, made in the Czech Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia) for the last 60+ years. It has an incredible track record and is widely used in the old country. My mother in-law lives in Prague and still cooks with her original Remoska several times a week and its about 50 years old! I love the fact its not made in China!

Its basically a countertop oven with the heating element built into the lid with a small window for viewing. Itssimplicity and operation are pure genius. The inside of the lid and the bowl have a high quality DuPont non-stick surface. There is a stand for the lid for easy placement on a counter and is a safety feature.

It cooks fast, evenly and is a good investment as its extremely well made.Note the original Remoska doesn't have the extra handles on the lid and no temperature control, they have made some upgrades! I swear it's not my imagination, everything cooked in a Remoska just tastes better!

8 years ago I ordered 2 original Remoskas (120v) from Canada, $123.99 each plus $23.90 for S&H. One for my wife and one for my mother, and yes they're pricey, even more so in the Czech Republic. I mention this to put the price here on Amazon in perspective, it's a bargain. By the way, both Remoska's still work and look like new! When was the last time you bought any appliance that still worked and looked new after 8 years?

As you can tell we love our Remoska, and I am sure the model on Amazon cooks just as well. It will be an interesting and fun addition to your kitchen or as a gift for your cook that has almost everything.

Dobrou chut (Bon Appetit in Czech)!
