WearEver A8272464 Cook and Strain Nonstick Stainless Steel Handle Red Metallic Exterior 3.3-Quart Source Pan with Glass Lid Cookware, RedThis little pot is a trooper! I've had one for a couple years, and have cooked hundreds of servings of pasta in it--mostly for myself, but sometimes 3 or 4 person serving sizes.

The handle is sturdy, the bottom doesn't burn, and water heats evenly inside (if you have a good stove, of course). The highlight feature is the pouring spout and straining lid. I have cooked angel hair pasta, regular spaghetti, cavatelli, manicotti, linguini, rigatoni, and plain old mac 'n cheese. Every kind of pasta cooks perfectly in this pan.

Being able to use the lid to strain the pasta is a HUGE time-saver, and it means one less thing to wash and store (I actually didn't even own a strainer until I needed it for other purposes a couple months ago (mainly for shaking out powdered sugar).

HIGHLY recommended.

[Update 12/2012: I still have my original pot, and it's still in like-new condition. We use it about three times a week. I had purchased a cheap stainless steel 3 quart pot to go with it, but that pot is only used begrudgingly. Now that it has a permanent stain, I'm buying another one of these, so we can cook two different things for our small family at the same time. Still HIGHLY recommended after almost 3 years!]

Overall, this is a great pot. Nonstick coating makes it a breeze to clean up and the spout comes in handy when cooking. It also matches a T Fal set I have perfectly.

The only downside is that the lid handle gets VERY hot. They should have coated it with something to prevent that.

I'm really am passionate about things that work and this does. I cook pasta 3 or 4 times a week for my kids and this is the only pan I use.

Pros:

It heats fast.

I love the see-through lid. The lid is strong despite being glass; my toddler is always rummaging through my pots, pans and lids and so this lid has stood the toddler-test.

The lid has 2 strainers built in 1 with small openings and the other with larger. The lid fits on this pan like a lid fits on a iced tea pitcher; so you can turn the lid to seal off the strainers and keep steam in.

And, of course, non-stick is so easy to clean.

There are no cons in my opinion.

This pot is great for pasta or anything else that needs to be strained.I really like that I don't have to get our strainer dirty. There are two sizes of holes for straining.

After 3 years, none of the coating has come off the inside (I use it at least twice a week) and it has kept it's shape.

The downside is the knob on the lid gets super hot, unlike on our other pots, so I forget and burn my fingers. The handle gets really warm too, but I can handle that.

Our growing family needs a bigger one of these!

I'm here to replace my all time favorite sauce pan.Due to the way I cook, roughly 75% of my cooking over the past 6 years or so, has been done with this pan.It gets used every day, often more than once.I paid $24 for the last one, and haven't found one less expensive elsewhere.I'm just glad this pan is still being made; relieved, actually, because it's such a great pan.I use metal spoons to still stir with this pan.Even so, I sawabsolutely no wear on it for at least five years. My current one is still very usable, but during the past few months I'm seeing a little wear to bare metal on the edges where I sometimes stir soups, etc.My 5 star rating is a full 5 stars, for sure.Recently I bought a Wearever cook set here on Amazon.I had hoped to replace my pan that way, but it was not to be.No sizes were listed with the set, and the two sauce pans included were much smaller.I'm glad to have them though. You can't go wrong with this pan!
