Not only is the VERTI turner pleasing to the eye, but extremely functional and well balanced.The rounded end is great for using in my wok.The raised edges make stir-frying and spooning food much easier.I have found that it also works well on my grill (an added bonus, as I originally bought it for my wok).In fact, I liked it so much, I bought one for my mother also.

I have been learning how to cook with a wok, following the explanations given by Grace Young in "Stir-frying to the Sky's Edge" and the "Breath of the Wok."I tried various tools to do the fast turning required by effective, traditional stir-frying before realizing that in all the photographs of Chinese women with their woks they were holding what looked like long handled pancake turners.

After a search, I found this stainless steel one that works just perfectly... long enough to protect my hand from the heat, insulated so that I don't have to have a glove on to use it (although I certainly have a glove on the other hand to be able to move the wok around if I need to), and with a big-enough "shovel" to turn considerable amounts of food quickly.I have found this tool to be an essential part of successful stir-frying in a wok.I recommend it without reservation.
