Cucina Pro 1447 Cordless Crepe MakerGreat little kitchen gadget.We used the simple batter recipe that came in the booklet and it was delicious.The directions were clear and easy to follow and the crepes turned out perfectly.Please note that you don't need one of those t-shaped spreaders (Amazon suggested I buy them with the maker and now I've gotta send them back).The device comes with a shallow plastic pan that you fill with batter and then you dip the face of the crepe maker in it.The batter coats the cook surface evenly and no spreading is necessary.

Making crepes was fun and easy and we had a great time exploring the fridge to figure out what to put in them next.Nutella, whipped cream, shredded cheese, deli slices, fruit, leftovers...We were all grownups but I would think this would be a great cooking activity to do with kids.

For price, ease of use, entertainment value and delicious results, I give it a thumbs up.

Corkcicle Color Wine Chiller

Corkcicle Classic Wine Chiller, CorkThis is a clever product, no doubt, BUT it has two drawbacks.First, you have to remove the icicle to pour wine.This is awkward and messy.Second, the icicle only goes halfway down the bottle.Given the shape of the bottle, that means that when the bottle is less than half full the icicle no longer touches the wine and is thus ineffective.



The Corkcicle is placed in the freezer, and when the gel in the tube is chilled, you replace the bottle's cork with this but unfortunately, the product doesn't really keep your chilled wine chilled for an extended period, or cool off your warm wines and keep it that way for a while.

For chilled wines, I found that after about 1/2 hour, the wine wasn't kept as crisp and chilled as the old reliable bucket with ice would keep it, unless you are drinking your wine quickly. And who does that? For the warm wines, it creates some cooling, but the warmth of the wine warms the Corkcicle, so the wine does not remain at an adequate temperature. And the problem exasperates itself when dealing with large bottles of wine, the kind you might put out for when you have guests.

Another thing I've discovered while using it is that when you go to pour your wine and remove the Corkcicle, wine drips from it, so you have to keep something handy to wipe. At least with the old bucket, I wipe the moisture from the bottle, and it's just water. With this thing, I'm wiping up red wine.

If you are a wine enthusiast, don't replace the ice bucket with this thing. If you are thinking about this as a gift, you might want to think again. It is nothing but a novelty item. Iwachu Japanese Iron Teapot Tetsubin Turquoise GoldfishI've been a big green tea drinker all my life and have used a variety of teapots, ranging from ceramic to glass.I've never had a nice teapot and for many years now have resorted to brewing cups of tea directly in a mug with tea bags.Only recently have I gotten back into using loose-leaf green tea, and while there's nothing wrong with tea bags it just cannot compare with tea brewed the traditional way, using high-quality tea leaves in a well-crafted teapot.Only recently have I come across these Japanese cast iron tetsubin teapots and finally decided to purchase the Iwachu Turquise goldfish design.It is simply one of the best purchases I've made in a very long time and I cannot believe that I've been skimping and cutting corners on making tea all these years.

The teapot itself is extraordinary in craftsmanship, which is what I can always expect with traditional things that are made in Japan by their true artisans.I specifically avoided many of the cheaper brand/models because it was not clear where they were made, and I suspect some are from China.The interior glaze, molding of the pot,handle/attachment and exterior paint are well-done and aside from being a teapot, it is a nice decorative piece to put on display.The attention to detail is exceptional and is well worth the extra cost.

Having experience with all types of teapots, I can attest that cast iron ones do indeed hold in heat longer (for a good hour if you're slowly drinking and emptying from it).Being so new, I do not yet have that patina tea-layer that accumulates on the inside over time, but I'm certain that it will only enhance the flavor over time, just like some of the yixing teapots I've used years ago.The spout does not drip regardless how full it is and the interior stainless strainer that's included sits nice in low for those who may want to brew half a pot, etc.

I highly recommend this product.It's well-made, durable and will last more than a lifetime if you take good care of it.It's incredibly simple to clean-just rinse with warm water and wipe dry immediately after.No soap or sponges.More pricey than other models/brands, but totally worth the money if you want top quality.For these long-lasting accessories, I'm no longer willing to skimp.Better to spend a little more on a good quality product rather than cutting corners and regretting later.In the end, it'll be well worth the investment.

Great design and very solid performance as one would expect from a cast iron teapot however do not be fooled by the lovely sky blue color!Mine is now a nice turquoise color, more green than blue. It turned after a week.But it's still quite nice.I just wish I'd been forwarned: then I wouldn't have gotten so caught up in finding the right color.

Bialetti Aeternum 3-Pack Ceramic Saute Pan, RedI only received these pans a few days ago but so far I am ecstatic about them.Slide a silicone spatula around the inside to remove the food and they are so clean you barely know you cooked something in them.Also the handle and weight distribution make them extraordinarily comfortable to use.Don't know how they will stand the test of time but they can't be worse than teflon, and they don't come with a warning about possibly poisoning anycanaries you might happen to keep your kitchen, as my last teflon set did.Just make sure you read the directions and follow them they require basically the same care as teflon but don't outgas anything bad and the manufacturing process is billed as green.I have been wiping a very thin coat of olive oil over the non-stick surface before each use, rather than just periodically as the directions say.Conservatism?It's a very small amount of oil, and these are sauté pans where I usually use a bit of oil anyway.My regular pans always end up with browned grease on the sides that requires scrubbing.These stay clean.Love them!



Slightly delicate interior -treat gently, clean by hand. But super non-stick without Teflon, good looking porcelain exterior. Sides slope inward to bottoms, thus cooking surfaces are smaller than 8", 10", and 12". Exteriors can chip if banged around so we are very careful. But they are great to cook in. Always use a very small amount of oil and everything slides out when done. Wipe interior out gently, then wash w/ soapy sponge and it looks like new w/ very little effort. I do use a somewhat lower heat to avoid scorching. Very reasonably priced but have become our pans of choice.

After rave comments from my grown daughter, I decided to invest in the 3 skillet set. I have cooked chicken breasts with Worcestershire sauce and the residue easily came off with water and a paper towel. Fried eggs using butter worked well. Have decided to hand wash skillets rather than put them into the dishwasher. They perform better than Calphalon and Circulon skillets.

I hate to rain on the Aeternum parade, but I don't like this product.

I've owned this product for six months.I purchased this brand based on a review I read in either the NY Times or the Wall Street Journal Weekend Edition.They tested various non-stick pans and I'm increasingly convinced that the reviewer was smitten by the great looks these pans do look spiffy rather than functionality.Unfortunately, they stick.On a non-stick scale of 1 to 5 ( like Amazon stars), a stainless All-Clad might be a 1, a well-worn (and therefore nicely seasoned) cast iron pan is a 2, these guys are a 2.5 and a five year-old battle-weary IKEA non-stick is a 4.75.Frankly, I just don't understand what people like about these pans.If I could send these back (a-la-Costco returns policy) I would.I'm going to get a more expensive All-Clad non-stick that can go in the oven (to 500 degrees I believe) for any fancy fixins but for my over-easy eggs I'm getting a new IKEA pan for $12.Don't be fooled by the perfect hue of red on outside contrasted with the bright wide inside: these are truly flashes in the pan.

I recently bought a stainless steel set that I love. However, I wanted to have some non-stick for cooking that's a bit trickier with stainless.And I didn't want Teflon.In my opinion, this works better than Teflon, too.Clean up is super easy, no matter what I cook in it.Heats evenly and quickly, and the white surface color actually gives a different spin to watching your food cook.Handle stays cool and comfortable in any size hand.

The only negative I have is that the red paint scratches off, regardless of how gentle I place it on the iron burners of my Wolf range.Not sure what the long-term ramifications of that will be to the pans' finish.

These are great quality pans: heavy, well constructed, thoughtful design, etc.The handles are great (I am not a fan of the handles on the All-Clad stainless pans that I have).I prefer the stainless steel lids instead of glass lids as they are much easier to clean.The pans are not too big to fit multiple pans on the stove top at one time.I have to agree with the other reviewer, these pans are better than All-Cladin many ways. I have done a side-by-side comparison, and for me, I prefer the Royal Doulton.

This cookware is incredible!! Durable, easy to clean and cooks evenly. It is worth every penny. One point to remember when using this cookware: start at a lower temperature because the WHOLE pan heats not just the bottom. If you are a serious cook and like All-Clad, I think you will enjoy The Gordon Ramsay line as well.

The pans are relatively thick, and hold their heat well, meaning you can move something off the burner, and it will get a good amount of carry over from the pan.

Cuisinart GG22-30 GreenGourmet Hard-Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Open SkilletI am an avid home chef and a fervent hater of nonstick cookware. I went through so many sets of nonstick in my early married years, everything from the $30 "whole kitchen in a box" set I got as wedding gift to a "top of the line" set that my mother-in-law gave me years later. I babied the stuff, but it still wound up scratched and peeling and in the trash. And, I never liked the cooking performance of any of it. So, many years ago I threw it all out and bought an 18/10 stainless setwhich I love and praise to anyone who will listen, and have never had to replace a single piece of. BUT, even I will admit that it's tough to get a decent fried egg from a stainless pan, so I kept an 8" nonstick skillet around just for that purpose. It was needing to be replaced so I decided to go with hard anodized. Hesitantly, I was going to get another brand with the teflon type finish. Then I saw this, and liked the idea of the the ceramic type finish. I can't tell you how much I love this pan. It fries beautifully. Sears salmon and steaks. Cleans with a wipe and a rinse. I have had this for a couple of months, used it MANY times, and am getting ready to buy the 12" for bigger jobs. Even my 8 year old can make beautiful(no tears)fried eggs with it. Oh, and did you know that you can thaw meats faster in it. Hard anodized is an amazing conducter of heat, so it pulls the cold out of the food. Just set it on the counter (covered) and wait about 20 minute (depends on thickness of the meat) turn it over once and voila you have thawed meat.



Please note that when you read all the positive reviews that they are from brand new pans. This review is after using the pan for just less than 2 months. I was so excited to buy this pan! After reading so much about non stick pans and how unhealthful they are I was really psyched to come across this one and purchased the 12" after frustrating results with the upkeep and care necessary to keep an iron skillet relatively stick free. This pan was great and I almost bought a whole bunch of them after about a week. Eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, sauces, etc. Nothing stuck. Then it slowly started to stick. I was careful with the cleaning, we use olive oil and butter to fry, but now, merely two months after purchasing it, it sticks like crazy. NOTHING doesn't stick to this pan. It's even hard to clean. I am sure that technology will come up with a 'new improved' non toxic non stick surface, but this, sadly isn't it. It's like buying a brand new model car when you should have waited for them to get the kinks out. They have to be getting mail from people like me all the time. This pan stinks.

The Good...

It's a solidly built, eco-friendly cooking pan made by a reliable company.

The Bad...

I typically use it to make pancakes or fry veggies and beans in oil. Within my first couple uses and cleanings, I noticed that the sides weren't smooth like the base. At that time I thought that maybe the pan was manufactured that way, or that it might be a defect in the surface. I did my best to clean it with a sponge and soap, but it didn't seem to make a difference. I continued to use it occasionally. It really bothered me though, since it wasn't like any other non-stick pan I've used. Inspecting it closely, I noticed what appeared to be a residue of oil. It wasn't greasy but very viscous and hardened on. I'd never burned anything onto the pan, and it had performed pretty well. I guess I'd give it a B for it's non-stick surface.

The Other Good...

Anyway today, I finally went against tradition and used a scouring pad on the surface. It took me over an hour of sanding off the residue with the dry scour pad, and blotting off the dust with a moist paper towel. It was a mild acrylic pad, but had enough scratchiness to take off the residue, which came off as an orangy powder. It resembled dried oil, and for the life of me, that's all I can determine that it was. However, I finally returned it to a virtually untouched state.

I was nervous about scraping into the pan as I did with the scouring pad, having been careful to only use wooden utensils in the past. However, even after putting some serious elbow grease into it, the scouring didn't seem to scratch the non-stick surface. I probably won't try it, but it does seem that it would be resistant to scratching from metal utensils. It at least takes a good scouring and comes out looking fresh and clean.

Summary:

Overall, I think it didn't perform quite as well as low-end T-Fal pans that I used 15 years ago, but food didn't stick to the pan too terribly either. The oil apparently stuck to the sides of the cooking surface in a bad way, however. I cleaned my pan promptly and never burned anything on it, a residue of dry hardened oil built up in just a few uses. On the other hand, I was able to scrape it off with a mild scouring pad. It was much like taking rust off a surface with a fine grit sandpaper. Trust me, you don't want to expend the time and elbow grease to do this though. Since it's a more eco-friendly, safer non-stick pan, I'm willing to deal with it. I'm going to be more aware of how hot I heat the pan, as I suspect that high temperatures and oil quickly caused the build-up of oil residue.

At first glance, these appear to be fantastic products. The angle of the sides is great to keep things contained, the handle is comfortable and always stays cool to the touch, and they look really great. We bought silicon tools to use with these skillets and made sure to never use them above MED on the stovetop. They were always left to cool before wiping down with soap, and stored safely where they wouldn't get scratched. Basically, these were supposed to be our first grown-up cooking utensils.

Unfortunately, in the two weeks that we had our 10" skillet, it developed patches of bare surface, which grew with every use. I called up Cuisinart and asked if there was anything I could do to refinish the surface or help keep it from spreading, and was told to just mail it in for a repair. I mailed it in, at my own expense, and got a letter a week later stating that it was "not a manufactured defect", and that I could buy a new one from them for more than it cost new from here. Of course I have no recourse but to let people know that these are apparently very sensitive skillets, so take that into consideration when buying.

We have an 8" and a square pan model bought at the same time which do not have this problem, so we do not believe it to be our fault. It's just disheartening to be so careful with a piece of cookware, only to have it fail on you, and then spend ten bucks shipping to basically throw it out.

4 months ago I bought the 12 inch skillet for $70 and followed all the manufacturer's instructions such as hand washing etc. It worked very well initially and I was thrilled but now it has begun to stick very badly after only 4 months of use. I have not tried calling Cuisinart yet but I certainly did not expect problems so early. Hopefully Cuisinart will make the next gen better and longer lasting. Will update this review after talking to Cuisinart.

Oct 2009 update: I did return my old skillet to Cuisinart (spent an additional $18) and got a new replacement skillet a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised at that. The coating on the new one seems much thicker/better than the previous one I had. I wont say it is perfect, it sticks sometimes but I have peace of mind when I cook in it. In a few months, I'm sure it will lose its non-stick characteristic. In the meanwhile, I also tried the Green Pan (from Target for $30) and Cuisinart's non stick seems much better. After this experience, I feel this is new technology that needs to mature some more and we need to give it the chance to survive. But I will never go back to the traditional PTFE based non-stick skillets. I would like to revise my rating to 3 stars since my Jan 2009 review.

"Jack of all trades, master of none" would be my current opinion of this pan.

So there is definitely a place for it in my kitchen, and it is actually still my most-frequently-used pan.

After more than 2 years, it appears that while the non-stick properties do degrade somewhat after the first 6-9 months or so of regular use, it is very durable once in that state.The degraded non-stick Beka pan is still much better than a worn-out Teflon pan, and much easier to clean up than a stainless steel pan.So far it has handled high-temperature cooking well, which Teflon and lesser ceramic pans cannot do.

I wanted a non-"Teflon" ceramic-coated non-stick pan since I occasionally accidentally overheat my pans, which destroys "Teflon" (generic name:PTFE)Most "Teflon-free" nonstick pans use the same exact chemical as Teflon (PTFE), just manufactured by a company other than Dupont, so "Teflon-free" nonstick is almost always a marketing trick unless the coating is ceramic (several expensive non-stick pan-makers are guilty of misleading marketing to the point of fraud because the products are virtually the same as $30 pans).But most ceramic-coated nonstick pans use a thin layer of non-stick ceramic on top of anodized aluminum, which isn't hard enough so the brittle ceramic coating cracks quickly.Such pans typically only last a few months.

I was originally going to buy a Beka Vita pan due to the stainless steel construction (harder, plus I don't want aluminum leaching into my food), but when I read up on PEO aluminum I realized that Beka had made the correct decision in using that material for its higher-end product.

The key to this product which sets it apart from the competition is Plasma Electrolytic Oxide Aluminum, which provides a hard enough under-layer to prevent the ceramic coating from rapidly flaking off like competing products.PEO Aluminum is harder than steel and won't leach into food unless the ceramic coating is mostly destroyed to the point that you'd probably throw the pan away anyway (I would not use non-coated anodized aluminum cookware, or non-hardened aluminum cookware).PEO Aluminum is basically a super-thick anodized aluminum oxide coating, dozens of times thicker than cheaper anodizing processes, which means that the surface is extremely durable by comparison.

Aluminum oxide ceramic is otherwise known as sandpaper grit very hard stuff and a good choice for binding another ceramic to a metal pan.

I'll be using this primarily to cook eggs nearly every day.

UPDATE 12/31/2011:New Year's eve and the pan is still working fine.I have treated it as carefully as I would treat a cheap Teflon pan (no metal utensils, hand washing) and it's rewarded me with working well.

UPDATE 1/1/2012: Apparently, you are not supposed to use non-stick spray with non-stick ceramic pans the spray can ruin pans.They are not compatible.I found this out after reading someone else's review of non-stick ceramic cookware.Not an issue for me because I never liked the thought of spraying silicone on my food...Nothing magical in those cans, so I just use a bit of oil instead and pass on the other chemicals.

UPDATE 3/4/2012:Well, the non-stick properties of this pan appear to have gone south somewhat.That is unfortunate.I was hoping that it would last longer and I always treated it with care, but it's full non-stick properties ended up lasting about as long as any other non-stick pan I've ever used.It's still a decent pan and it looks OK and the ceramic layer appears intact, but it doesn't really behave like a non-stick pan anymore.Considering that the non-stick properties of the ceramic coating apparently will not last for years, probably it would make sense to use the cheaper stainless-steel product.

UPDATE 1/17/2013:I'm still using this pan daily and have been treating it rougher (searing steaks on high, using plastic scrub pads, etc...) and it hasn't gotten any worse over the past year.Perhaps this heavily-used pan is not as non-stick as a new Teflon pan, but after an initial degradation in the non-stick qualities over 6 months, it does seem to be quite durable.



After much research which revealed that pretty much ALL the eco friendly non-stick ceramic brands are having issues after a few months of use, i decided on this (until very recently) 5 star rated, but quite expensive pan.

So far, so good. I have only used it 4 times so far, for eggs and veggie burgers. It is VERY non-stick...almost too non stick when it comes to frying eggs. It is difficult to get the spatula to flip them. (i know whitewhine.com right? ha!) But no complaints so far. It seems well made and durable as far as i can tell. DOES feel good in the (stays cool) hand, as one reviewer mentioned.

A couple notes: 1) don't expect the outer enamel to be glossy. It's not...it's very much matte finish. Something to do with the eco friendly process they employ. i don't want the outside to get marred, so im being super careful with it. 2) don't use a Scotchbrite type pad on the bottom of the pan (or probably anywhere else). the bottom is the hardened aluminum. i thought it would be harmless to scrub the glue from the sticker off with the Scotchbrite, but it scratched it a lot. No biggie since it's only the bottom...just letting you know. i love the 9.5 inch size i got. Very versatile. Bottom line is the Bialetti, the Earthpan, etc...NONE of them are getting consistent reviews...way too many failings after fair bit of use. This seems to be the only exception and it IS a good looking pan. i'm sorry the one user had a problem, but like the commenter said..it's probably because of the use of cooking sprays that caused it. This pan is a pretty penny, but when it comes to eco friendly ceramic non stick, it's clear that you get what you pay for. If i have any issues, i will be sure to update. one more note. Scanpans..which also get great reviews..are only PFOA free..and not PFTE free as well.

More comments due to recent reviews: 1) don't use on high heat no matter what the advertisement for it says. the instructions say to use no higher than medium-high heat, which is sufficient for just about anything. 2) don't use cooking spray--instructions state this as well--these two things could be causing issues for some people 3) the product has a THREE YEAR warranty on the non-stick..and is the only eco friendly one who has this. I.E. you really can't go wrong! mine has had no issue so far.

I bought this over Thanksgiving when it was cheaper on a Lightening Deal.

I took care of it/handled it according to the instructions, but after 2 months of moderate use (2-3 times a week) marks started showing up on the coating, without me having ever used any kind of steel wool or non-nonstick approved tools. I never put it in the dishwasher, never used nostick spray, never put water in it when it was hot, prepared it before first use according to instructions, etc...Now the nonstick surface is not working at all anymore, stuff sticks to it and it won't clean anymore. Basically have to throw it away now.

Don't buy, terrible quality, stops working after a few months. I bought some WMF nonstick skillets now, I hope they work better. I also use some Calphalon non-stick cookware and it works great.

Update: I tried to contact Beka through their US website in regards to warranty and they absolutely ignored my request for information.

I had been searching for a non-stick pan for quite a while now. I have owned a few All Clad non stick pans which work....for a while. They tend to lose their non stick properties in less than a year and need to be replaced. Also, I have been reading about the possible health risks of eating off or cookware using teflon. Not only is it a possible carcinogen when heated, it is harmful to the enviroment and the workers who make these pans.

In my food blog reading, I came across a review for the Beka ceramic finish non stick pan. It is made in an eco-friendly manner, causing minimal damage to the enviroment and does not expose its workers to the dangers of teflon production. Not only is it responsible, it works! The degree of non-stickiness far exceeds my All Clad pans, the finish seems to be more durable than teflon (you do not see any scratches from utensils), and clean up is simply easy. Aside from knowing it's eco-friendly, this pan feels good in the hand. The surface (much like an enamel or ceramic surface) is much smoother than traditional non-sticks and it cleans up like a breeze. Haven't tried the dishwasher yet, but it is dishwasher safe and looks like it. After a week of daily multiple uses I have to say it was worth every penny. HIGHLY recommend.

This item is a great starter to the Calphalon Contemporary Stainless Steel cookware line. It's a solid product that looks great and functions as it's pricier siblings. Cooking with this has been a pleasure and don't be surprised if you end up buying the rest of the cookware in the series. I should not that the pot gets hot very fast and the handle can be hot but is rather cool towards the end.

If you have a hanging pot-rack, then this would make you very happy.

One last thing, if you were wodering why the item is so cheap, well, it's meant to hook you into buying more... It has the same build quality as the rest of the cookware in the line.

I've had this pot for about a month now, and use it often.The handle on the pot stays cool, it's a great size, the shape is perfect for stirring, the see-through lid is wonderful, and the price is excellent.My only complaint is that it's been hell to clean.I don't have a dishwasher, so I scrub (and scrub and scrub) by hand, but there always seems to be a thin film of whatever food I was cooking stuck to the bottom (even with overnight soaking), and the inside becomes weirdly discolored even after I clean it, from doing non-messy things like boiling pasta.Bar Keeper's Friend helps a bit, but this pot literally takes me 15 minutes to even get it passably clean (forget new-looking/shiny).

This pan caught my eye because it's so attractive and it had a great price.The glass lid is a plus, too.It's wondeful, I used it to cook rice the first time I used it and the water boiled so quickly, a fraction of the time it takes with the other pans we have.Cleaning the pan was very simple, didn't have the use an SOS.The only complaint I have is that the bottom was already discolored after one use with a blue-green pattern.

I owned this pan as well for a couple of years, and was happy to shell out the bucks thinking that, unlike cheaper nonstick pans, it would actually last for five years or so. Sadly, that wasn't the case. It was great for making pancakes and omelettes, but the nonstick coating didn't hold up against scratches no matter how carefully I tried to baby it (plastic and wooden utensils only, keeping it separate from the other pans, hiding it from the cleaning lady--you name it!). Last month it was ruined during a move by a careless packer, and I was faced with buying a new one (even more expensive now) or trying something else. I bought a cast-iron pan from Target a couple of weeks ago and tried several times to make pancakes, and it was just impossible. They kept sticking and burning no matter what I did. (Apparently our mothers' cast-iron pans were machined smooth, and the new ones are all rough, and aren't good for much except frying meat.) Today I had an idea: how about a crepe pan? DeBuyer makes very highly rated steel crepe pans sold on Amazon and at high-end shops, and they're supposed to be excellent for pancakes and omelettes. The one I just ordered was only $19. I guess if you have health conditions that severely restrict your use of cooking oil, this nonstick pan is a good idea. Otherwise, you might be better off with something much less expensive that doesn't have nonstick's chemical and scratching problems. Good luck!

I was concerned that some of the pots do not come with matching lids. However, after using our GE induction cooktop range for a month now the lids are not needed. The entire base of the pot becomes the heating element so the cooking is very even.

The pots can be a little tricky as far as sticking. Butter, olive oil or Pam is mandatory for keeping food from adhering to the pots. A neat trick we found if you do get burned on or stained surfaces is to put water in the pot, pour some super washing soda in and bring it to a boil. Let the pot sit for an hour or when you're ready to wash dishes and the stuff magically rinses clean. But all in all it is a very well built set and the cost makes it seem like a bargain.

These pots are of excellent quality and beauty. I've been using mine for more than one year now and they still look like new. If they stain, it is enough to rinse them with a mixture of water and vinegar and they go right back to their initial beauty.

Great cookware, have not had any problems. I want to leave them out on my cooktop because they are so lovely.After 2 years of use I still love this cookware, our lids are perfect and we have not had any problems. We do find sticking occurs if not properly using a fat which can be a problem for us since we try and not use oil/butter but overall have been a great addition to our kitchen.

A common complaint that I've run into is that foods "stick" more than their other pans. This actually IS true if you do not adjust your cooking method. If you cook something at maximum heat, you WILL have issues. Turn down the heat, this requires less heat than other pans I've used, which is good because it is using less energy to cook in the same amount of time.

Although I think this is a very sturdy pan, I have to agree with the first two reviewers that it has a "sticking" problem. It makes no sense to me, I thought stainless steel is stainless steel.

The only solution I have found is that it must be seasoned before using. I do this by by coating the inside with oil, and heating it at a low temperature (just below the smoking point of the oil) for about half an hour. Then, it becomes a nice fry pan.

Or, if you use it daily, wipe yesterday's oil out with a paper towel and rinse under the tap, then heat it, and then the cooking surface is much friendlier than if you had scoured it.

This sticking problem makes it as finicky as a cast iron skillet, but it is friendly if you treat it right.

I bought this pan because I got rid of my non-stick one.When I first used it, I thought oh my what have I done, the eggs stuck and it was a mess.I then decided I would treat it like a chief's pan.I wash it only with hot water and afterwards I smear a drop or two of oil into the pan and put it away.I preheat the the pan before putting food in it and never use heat higher than medium high, I can now fry an egg with a loose yolk and get it out of the pan easily.It's been about two months since I bought it and its working fine.In a years time it should be wonderful.

These egg rings work exactly how they are supposed to.Cooks perfectly round eggs for making homemade egg sandwiches.I haven't tried them with pancakes so I am not sure how they would work for that. Nice weight to them so the egg doesn't leak out underneath.Also, they are a good size.

Alright so here are the pros:

Non-stick! It was very easy to lift the ring right off my food and keep cooking.

The size is nice and large. It's probably a quarter inch too big EXACTLY to fit perfectly on a typical english muffin you would buy at the store. I'm okay with this because I hate biting into a breakfast sandwich and only get a mouthful of bread. The larger size also seems to accommodate their idea of using it for pancakes.

And now the cons:

Most people gave it such a happy review that I thought the negatives just didn't like it for whatever reason. But it does turn out that, consistently, the egg leaks out of the bottom EVERY time. I've used different pans to make sure it wasn't just an uneven pan. I've tried different methods (pouring just a little bit at the bottom to set and seal the cracks up that are leaking so I can pour more on top, etc) but it seems that no matter what I do, it's going to leak to some degree. Which brings me to my next point:

Because they are rubbery, they don't seem to cook the sides of the egg enough so that I can pull the ring off and flip. Just like other reviewers said, this thing could comfortably use 2-3 eggs to actually fill it, so that's what I did. The egg seems to be up so high that either I burn the bottom so the top cooks, or I pull the ring off too early and have the top of the contents spill all over the pan because they never set. So, really, the only solution seems to be using just 1 egg. But it's so incredibly thin when it's done that it doesn't seem appetizing at all.

So really, great for pancakes, not so great for making an egg patty for sandwiches. If I was going to choose one to buy all over again, it wouldn't have been this one. It would have been a smaller, metal one.

I use this to make egg sandwiches every morning. It works very well. Easy to clean. I recommend spraying the pan AND the ring with some cooking spray (Pam or otherwise.) Also, when using egg white egg beaters: pour the first bit in slowly, because it is so runny, it can escape under the ring. If you pour it slower, it allows the egg to cook a little before it can escape. =)

this really is well worth the money. i can cook a whole pound of bacon on this griddle. with my old one i had to cook half a pound at a time. i like the drip tray as it attaches securly and does not slide off. it cooks food perfect. you dont want a griddle that stays on the whole time at one setting as it will cook the food too fast. so i like the delay in between because the food cooks nicely.
