Fortunately, I did not drop mine on floor, so it has not broken.It works quite fine, crisp bread and cheese melts.All inside of sandwich is melted and or heated.Can handle a wide variety of thickness of sandwich.A knob on right side as you are facing unit allows you to lock the lid at desired height.

For what it is supposed to do, I cannot fault it at all.

Got it for my wife 2-3 months ago and she still tells me she loves it. It looks and works very nicely. The paninis are cooked just like they would've if we bought from a panini restaurant.

I give it 5 stars because I haven't had any issues and because its heavy duty design makes me feel like it will never have issues. If any problems arise, I will edit this post.
