Cuisinart TPC33-28H MultiClad Pro Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Saute Pan with Helper Handle & Lid

Cuisinart TPC33-28H MultiClad Pro Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Saute Pan with Helper Handle & LidThis is a great pan. It seems to be built to a higher standard than All Clad, and has a higher polish (both inside and out). My later pans are copper clad tri ply (Cuisinart makes the best by far), but this pan looks and performs so well that I can't bring myself to replace it. It is a work of art. Period. If you prefer the stainless exterior for asthetic reasons, this is the best 5.5 Qt Saute pan that you can buy.

It heats evenly, works with all utensils, cleans up in minutes, and shouts "quality" from every angle. It also takes high heat in stride, and doesn't suffer from hot spots. As the instructions say, you can usually use less heat for the same cooking effect, but if you need to turn it up for a particular dish, the pot will perform. It also works great in the oven (at any heat). Anyone who had a bad time cooking with this pan probably had a bad day in the first place.

I have quite a few Cuisinart MultiClad pieces including this one. They have all performed extremely well during many different cooking tasks. The tri-clad design enables food to cook much more quickly and evenly, the stainless steel cleans easily, the pots and pans are well-constructed (which means they are heavy) and they're attractive.Another fantastic feature is the ability to go from cooktop to oven because of the all-metal design.MultiClad pieces are not something that I have recently purchased; rather, I have been using them for a number of years and still love them as much now as I did when I first bought them. You will not regret purchasing MultiClad anything!

I got this pan a few years ago to complement my set of All-Clad pans, and I can't tell the difference between the brands, even though the price on this was much lower. It's a good size for big jobs, like searing big pieces of meat or frying a lot of breaded chicken breast or pork cutlets all at once. I can fit 2 bags of spinach in it at one time to sautee them. Also, because I have a flat-top stove and can't easily use a wok, I use this for stir-fry and it's fine.

The lid fits great, and I love the grip handle on the opposite side of the long handle. It's quite heavy, though it might not be good for those with physical limitations or weak arm/shoulder muscles. And if you're not careful, the bottom can get pretty hot and the food gets stuck, making it tough to clean unless you soak it a while. But I have the same issue with All-Clad, since it's not non-stick. Overall, a terrific value -just as good as All-Clad without the high price. I wish I'd bought a whole set before spending the money on All-Clad.

I purchased this pan and waited anxiously for it to arrive.I now regret it.I burn things in the pan everytime I use it.I find it to be a difficult pan to use and difficult to clean up.The instructions say never to use it on high heat, so I don't.But even on medium and low heat, the pan performs poorly.I have since bought an 8 quart saute pan from Calphalon and have never had a problem with it.This Cuisinart pan was more expensive and is a very disappointing product.
