Cuisinart 6117-14 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Inch Lasagna Pan

Cuisinart 6117-14 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Inch Lasagna PanI ordered this item dispite no depth measurement detail.Fortunately it is deep enough to accommodate most lasagna recipies unless you like your lasagna Empire-State-Building tall. The measurements are 14" long, 10" wide" and 2 1/2" deep.

I've had this pan for over 5 years now and I can say that it's easily the first one I reach for whenever I need to prepare a dish in the oven, whether a lasagna, roasted vegetables, or a gratin dish. The pan has been incredibly durable and is the perfect size. The nonstick surface has been very durable despite the best efforts of visiting parents and guests to use metal utensils on it.I've given it as a gift and it's been a hit.

The lasagna pan is a nice addition to the hard anodized cookware set from Cuisinart.Just the right depth to prevent spillover and allow for thicker dishes if you want to cook extra.Weighty piece even when empty.Clean up is easy inside, but you must buy a hard anodized cookware cleaner for the outside, or expect stains to accumulate.I have not tried baking a cake in it, but it should not be a problem. The inside has been pretreated to withstand metal utensils, but they will eventually damage the item, so it is best to use silicone or comparable utensils. So far, so good.

After looking thru tons of reviews, I found this pan to be the best fit.Not to big, not to small.A good non-stick quality and easy clean up.The pan was deep enough, so the edges browned nicely and my lasagna was a hit for Christmas dinner.

Farberware FS12B 12-by-12-Inch Nonstick Electric Skillet

Farberware FS12B 12-by-12-Inch Nonstick Electric SkilletMy wife is the primary user of this electric skillet, and this is what she tells me:

The thick, heavy metal makes this skillet appear substantial, and that's a plus. The fact that the skillet can be completely immersed for washing is another good point, and she likes the quality of the non-stick surface.But...

The electrical connector is very hard to plug and unplug from the skillet. It's definitely a two-hand operation to unplug, and that can be problematic or even dangerous when the skillet contains hot cooking oil. Also, the temperature control seems to be either off or on, but not really adjustable. In addition, the lid does not fit securely on the skillet. It is too easy to just bump the lid and make it slide off the skillet.

Bottom line:Some good points, some bad.The skillet fries well, but has some fairly serious convenience issues.

Thinking of the Farberware brand name I ordered this skillet without reading the reviews.Big mistake.Controller plugs into the back or front of the skillet...not under the side handles.Very difficult to use.It also, once plugged in, takes a gorilla to unplug. With the second use the non-stick coating begin to "frost up" over the circular heating coil and now food sticks to this round area.It would have paid to read the reviews...this skillet is next to worthless and it's annoying!

We were very impressed with the heat which was far superior to our previous skillet. We should have bought this skillet sooner instead of turning our old one on to 450 degrees for pancakes whereas this new one only required a setting of 325 to 350.

I have Farberware products and they are good quality. But, this is a big let down!!! Poor casting and the anti-stick stuff wore off fast! It is heavy and the plug is tight. I will be throwing it away much sooner than the cheap Chinese ones I have been using. I would not suggest getting this!

Want Farberware FS12B 12-by-12-Inch Nonstick Electric Skillet Discount?

I had a great fry pan for years that accidentally got melted in the oven (don't ask) and I needed to replace it and thought Farberware would be a good choice as I normally like their cookware. This fry pan, however, I do not like at all: the surface heats very unevenly, even though it is a square, and you have to constantly shift the food around to make sure to get all sides cooked. The heating element also turns itself off and forces you to push the temperature dial up to restart it and then the heat is too high.Would not recommend this, I am going to try another brand.

Anolon Advanced Bronze 11-Inch, 5-Quart Covered Sauteuse with Glass Lid

Anolon Advanced Bronze 11-Inch, 5-Quart Covered Sauteuse with Glass LidWe love this pot! It turns out we use it far more often than we expected, because it holds a lot, has straight sides so a good flat area on the bottom, and yet isn't too big or too heavy to be a good everyday choice. Not to mention it is quite good looking. The lid is heavy and fits well, the handles are sturdy, and the base is nice and thick.

The one thing I would say is, silicone coated handles are a really nice feature and this pot doesn't have them. But, that being said, we still love the pot.

As it turns out, this pot is a "Promotional" item given to people hosting parties, or some such thing. It is not as heavy as the other items in the full set.Additionaly, it lacks the "rubber" lid handle. This handle is just metal and gets very hot.Otherwise, it is a fine pot.I would rather have had the item though.

I have purchased 8 of these in the regular non Bronze color. It is an excellent everyday piece and I was sorely disappointed when the two new Bronze ones I ordered arrived. These pans are not completely flat and slightly protrude up in the center. Both have the same exact defect so I'm hesitant to send them back for an exchange. I am returning them as I have an electric cooktop that doesn't allow for even cooking or frying. The original ones I purchased were so good that I bought them for my parents, and an aunt and we have all used them far in excess of all other pots combined. I am ordering the original non Bronze model as replacements.

Futura Non-Stick Deep-Fry Pan(Kadhai) 2-1/2-Litre with Steel Lid and Round Bottom

Futura Non-Stick Deep-Fry Pan(Kadhai) 2-1/2-Litre with Steel Lid and Round BottomSimple and Handy. Good for cooking Indian foods like Puri, Vada, Savories, etc.,If the base is made slightly flat instead of spherical, it would have been still better to rest over the stove. Now this is little shaky due to spherical pointed base.

My wife ordered one of these and it arrived with one handle broken. We ordered a replacement and the second one arrived with a broken handle too!

Finally I removed the intact handle from one and fixed it on the other to have one of these with two handles! We returned one. Apart from the handles the product seems alright. What could possibly go wrong with a kadai? Hope they make it of non-fragile materials in future.

Thunder Group 7 Inch Aluminum Nonstick Fry PanThe cooking portion of the pan is fine, but the handle is not. It is uninsulated, and cannot be touched with a bare hand. Its a good size for frying Dosas. It has a thick guage and therefore is not prone to warping on high heat. The handle too does not heat up during use. However, the rear side dark grey coating faded the very first time I washed it in a dishwasher and completely disappeared after 4-5 washes in the dishwasher the rear side now has the finish of an aluminium vessel! I found the non-stick coating too very gradually disappearing after each wash in a dishwasher. I now have to give it an oil coating before frying dosas, else they stick even with oil basted on the top of the dosa. This is a good product for households in India which largely do not use dishwashers. I hope Futura addresses this issue on its non-stick pans/griddles.

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10135 8 Impression Cornbread Skillet, 11 Inch x 8 3/4 Inch

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10135 8 Impression Cornbread Skillet, 11 Inch x 8 3/4 InchCosts much less than comparable cornbread skillets -and performs beautifully. The first time I used it, the cornbread wedges came right out without sticking (but I did put a teaspoon of shortening in each section when I preheated the skillet).Have wanted one of these for a long time -very pleased with this product and highly recommend it.

I grew up using SOS pads on my grandmother's cast iron skillet and it never rusted once.(And I never got in trouble for the help I rendered, but that's the Grandma part of the story, not the cast iron part.) Anyway, cast iron doesn't rust, even if you wash it with soap and water and let it air dry.

This rusted when I initially washed it.I tempered it.I oiled it before I used it.I left the cornbread in it over night, like my grandmother would have done.It rusted on the bottom.

Now having added an INDUCTION cook top this SS magnetic pan works great so we save on electric use, don't have a hot stove top after cooking so don't overheat the kitchen. Highly recommended.

I had to alter my cooking procedures slightly from what I did with my old non-stick surface. Using spray olive oil and heating the pan slowly before adding food but once you figure it out the pans work great and omelets and eggs come out perfect with virtually no clean-up. The pans heat evenly and look great on the rack.

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch, 5-Quart Covered Saute Pan

Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch, 5-Quart Covered Saute PanThis pan was worth every cent.I like to cook in quantity and put up "planned overs" for later in the week, and in the last six years have been through a number of non-stick pans including Circulon (ugh stay far away), Calphalon (OK for the first few months), and T-Fal (used to like but no longer).

I kept glancing at the 10" open French Anolon pan I'd bought at Amazon 10 years ago, which is still going strong. The old Anolon admittedly has some discoloration and "seasoning" at this point, but 10 years for a nonstick is nothing to snear at.So I went for this Big Baby.

And love it!This is my go-to pan, even though it's labeled as a saute, I make everything from stews to pasta sauces to chili in it.It's great for stir-frying loads of veggies, and you can whip up healthy fried rice concoctions with leftover brown rice and freshly sliced veggies with an egg or two scrambled in.Speaking of eggs, for brunches I beat together some eggs and eggwhites, then saute whatever veggies are on hand to fill up the bottom of the pan, pour in the eggs, top with cheese and bake in a 325 F. oven for 20 minutes for the biggest, most delicious fritattas ever.

This pan is so versatile I can cook pasta for two in it, drain the pasta, wipe it out, add olive oil and a little wine and saute greens and garlic, add back the pasta and some broth and voila, pasta prima vera in one pan.Chicken thighs brown well in it, then add barley and broth and some Morrocan seasonings ... OK I'll stop, you get the picture!

It seems like everything I make in this pan comes out better. And this is my first glass lid cookware how fun to see your meal cooking as the steamy little bubbles roll down the inside of the lid!Just be aware that quality cookware needs to be treated well follow manufacturer's instructions no dishwashers, let it come to heat over a medium setting, and clean it gently. The only con I'd issue is that the pan is heavy, but you get a lot of bang for this Kichen Hunk.

I bought this about 4 months ago and use it several times per week. Even though I cook a lot, I am not usually one to shell out over $100 on a single pan. This was totally worth it! This one is a keeper. Truly non-stick, easy to clean, larger size can accommodate a big meal! It is heavy, but this helps with even heating (and heat retention). Looks and feels very well-made, should provide one with a lifetime of culinary delights. We're getting to be good friends, this pan and I. Bon appetit!

UPDATE: Over 2 years later (May 2011) and the pan and I are like BFFs. Still cooking delightful meals, accommodating both small and surprisingly large portions, non-stick in-tact. I stand behind my previous review. Add this to your cookware arsenal and you will not be disappointed.

I've used the Anolon pan with glass lid for more years than you can imagine. (I've even given it as a gift for friends because it is so versatile in the kitchen.) The size 12" is generous for cooking food and I love the fact that it is a non-stick pan (good to keep calories and fat down.) The first design worked well, but this new Advanced design (with helper handles and a secure handled lid) is even BETTER than ever, and it's oven safe, too! One note: You do have to practice care with this pan. (NEVER use metal utensils on it, nor non-stick spray, nor excessively high heat no need for it anyway because it will tear up the non-stick teflon type surface. (The first one that I enjoyed for over 15 years, looked like it went through the war, but I still used it to its final hour!) It is not a stretch to say I use this saute pan daily. This one will last even longer because I intend on doing my part to take care in its handling. It is the main staple in my kitchen equipment supply! (Wouldhave given it 5 stars if I wouldn't have to be so careful with the teflon coating.)

Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12-Inch Round Grill Pan

Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12-Inch Round Grill PanI'm an outdoor grill cook -big time.I got the Calphalon Grill Pan as a birthday present, and I must admit I wasn't too enthused. Why would you want to pretend to grill indoors, right?

Well, a nice steak and a rainy day gave me the opportunity to try my pan.I cooked the steak over medium heat on an electric range, and the results were fantastic.I ate the tenderest steak I've ever cooked on a stovetop, rivaling the tenderness I get from the grill.Sure, you can't mimic the flavor of cooking on an outdoor grill, but the look (grill marks) and tenderness were identical. I got a slightly sauteed taste because I had a trace of butter and oil in the pan -enough to make a thin layer coating the bottom. The taste was definitely different from an outdoor grill, but regardless the meat tasted excellent.I seasoned it just like I would for the grill before cooking.

Being a natural skeptic, but enthused by the results with the steak, I decided to try the pan again cooking boneless chicken breasts.Same results!Super tender, juicy, and great looking meat came out of the pan.I'm sold. This is the pan for me when cooking grill meat indoors.

The secret to nonstick is to let the pan heat up fully over medium heat (no higher) before putting the meat in the pan.Putting a little butter and oil in the pan, and waiting until the butter turns golden brown lets you know when the pan is ready to use. Soaking the pan in warm water immediately after cooking makes for easy cleanup.Enjoy!

I have tried numerous grill pans from brands like Cuisinart and Emerilware (and some other crap brand i can't think of).All of these were lacking for one of the following reasons: bad size, not dish washersafe, general crappiness. This grill pan suffers none of these issues.Dishwasher safe being of particular importance.Everyone knows philyodaddy doesn't do handwashing.Hand washing is about as much fun as scrubbing toilets and drinking Genessee Cream Ale.

In summation, I'd say its the finest piece of cookware I have purchased to date.At the low, low price of $39.99 (I see now it is $49.99 and still great value!), I should have bought two of these bad boys.It may surprise some of my review readers, but I am a wizard with meat and this brings my kitchen game up to the next level.I cooked the crap out of some nice lamb chops yesterday. If I had any friends, they would have loved them.

I purchased this pan because I love to grill but I'm not always in the mood to fire up the Weber outdoors.Having used it now for a couple of months, I have to say that I absolutely love this thing.I've grilled chicken cutlets, chops, burgers, bacon, and steak and everything turned out great. The pan is large, made of solid construction, heats uniformly, and is easy to clean. The design allows the meat to cook above the grease and the grill lines on the cooked meat are impressive. With chicken and chops, I use a light coat of olive oil and have had no difficulty with clean-up with a sponge and some dishwashing liquid.Just follow the instructions, bring it to heat gradually and let it cool completely before putting it in water so it won't warp. The pan looks as good as the day I took it out of the box.I'm now a big fan of Calphalon Unison and also purchased the Unison nonstick saute pan.A great value for the price in my opinion.

I have had Calphalon cookware for 20 years. It has never disappointed and this line is no different. I bought this pan to do Bison steaks and burgers and it is fabulous. Last night I had done a few onions in the pan first and then the burgers so it was pretty well carmelized down in the grooves and really a mess. I thought there was no way this was coming clean in the dishwasher. Well it did!! Pristinely clean like new. My old Calphalon grill pan without the nonstick surface is going to Goodwill today.

Furthermore, if you don't know it Calphalon is one of the rare companies left in America that actually stands by their guarantees. I have had several pans replaced over the years because of the kind of stove I have. When they say "lifetime guarantee", they mean it!

I received my Grill Pan for Christmas and wanted to make sure i used it several times before posting a review. I had high hopes for this pan as i love grilling out but my apartment does not allow grills. I was not disappointed. I have used this pan well over 10 times and so far have no signs of damage or scratches.I do wash this in the dish washer though i am careful that noting is going to rub against it when i do.

It holds its heat well and evenly. It provides that beautiful grilled look and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it seared meat. I normally use a cast iron skillet for searing as most non stick pans just dont get the job done well. This one did a great job and is oven safe so after searing just pop it in the oven to finish off the meat.

I would highly recommend this Pan to anyone looking for a grill pan.

Presto 06852 16-Inch Electric Skillet with Glass Cover

Presto 06852 16-Inch Electric Skillet with Glass CoverThe 16" size of this Presto skillet actually ended up saving room in my kitchen because it replaced both an electric griddle and an old 12" electric skillet. This pan can be used for all kinds of cooking: griddling, frying, grilling, braising, roasting, even baking. The sides are high enough to use it as a chicken fryer or for stirfry. I can check how bacon is frying through the glass lid, minimizing spatter, if any. The temperature control is accurate and the pan heats up quickly, unlike my electric stovetop. In fact, you can get a perfect simmer by turning the knob down just till the light goes out. Also nothing sticks to it. The only two things you have to remember are: 1)spray it with Pam or some other cooking spray the first time you use it (just the first time), and 2)to maintain the nonstick coating, never soak it in water for extended periods (you won't need to soak it, it cleans up fast and easy). I really like this skillet and recommend it highly. I bought it in February and have used it regularly ever since.

NOTE: It is now May 2008 and I still use this electric skillet at least once or twice a week. It has held up beautifully and still looks new. I have to tighten the leg screws now and then but I'm not complaining. I would give this pan six stars if I could.

NOTE: It is now October 2008 and we still use this skillet a couple of times per week at least. It takes about 3 minutes to clean after it cools. I can cook just about anything in it. I like its temperature accuracy and the quick control I have over the heat. I use it all the time.

NOTE: It's now February 2009, and two years since I bought this skillet. I still use it at least once a week and it is holding up just fine. Other than tightening the leg/handle screws now and then, it works as well as the day I received it.

NOTE: It's now January 2010 and the skillet is still going strong. No problems with it at all. We use it every weekend for egg & pancake breakfasts with all the trimmings.

I have owned at least three electric skillets so far, and while they all had their nice little features (one had a thingie to hold the lid, another had a low-profile for storage, etc.), NONE of them were as high quality as the Presto 16" skillet. The non-stick coating is far superior to Teflon. So far I have only used a flexible, gentle nylon spatula on it, (OXO Good Grips 65191 Nylon Flexible Turner), but the way that the food behaves when on the cooking surface is wonderful.Even eggs don't stick!

This skillet cooks the most evenly of any I've ever used. The center is a little bit cooler than the edges, due to the placement of the heating element. However, the majority of the skillet heats evenly, and makes the BEST hashbrowns (and stir fry, and fried rice) ever.Things don't burn as easily in this skillet, and yet the response to heat adjustments is very quick.I love knowing that the glass lid isn't releasing dioxins into the condensation which collects on it to be dripped back down into the food.

My only beefs with this model are: a lack of rubber feet to prevent sliding (although it doesn't slide around much when full of food), and the glass lid doesn't have a vent.(So far, though, I've done mostly lid-less cooking, so it's a moot point.)

In short: an Excellent Quality skillet in a size that will feed my growing family (six with one on the way), with room left over.I have a feeling we might be ordering a second model so we can cook breakfast all in one fell swoop (one for hashbrowns or pancakes, and one for eggs & bacon).Even if you don't think you need something this big for just one or two people, it's wonderful to be able to cook or fry things with plenty of room to spare. Not a lot of frills, but does the job better than any I've seen.

If you're wondering which skillet to buy, wonder no more. This is the one.

We use an electric skillet about 3x's a week. So, this Presto skillet was used on a regular basis. The concept is great...to be able to use the skillet to serve in...is a nice plus. It's attractive enough to put on the table for family dinners. But, the coating began to flake off after about 3 months. The skillet heats quickly and the thermostat was precise.I just wish these manufacturers could get this non-stick coating to STAY ON the skillet.Non-stick is a great plus in a electric frypan...but, I'm looking for Calphalon to introduce an electric skillet. This was my last purchase...i've gone through about 6 different skillets.I'm done with these for now...!!!
