Neoflam Cast Aluminum Ceramic Coating Fry Pan 11"/28cm

Neoflam Cast Aluminum Ceramic Coating Fry Pan 11'/28cmI found this at my local Asian grocer. I thought it was cheap too at 24 dollars. If you go to the company's website, they have videos of the pan cooking an egg without any oil. I had to test this myself, and I was surprised that I was able to cook an egg without oil (over easy and no mess), though, the white has to cook all the way before the egg can start sliding around with ease.

For such a great pan, I can't believe that I can't find it anywhere to buy. There are some on Ebay but the sellers are overcharging it by a lot. I tried sending an email to the company asking where I can buy it, as Amazon doesn't seem to sell any, nor any other major online retailer.

I thought these seemed a little overpriced until I used it.It stands up to almost anything and always, always cleans up with a paper towel. It is really the BEST I have ever used or seen.

I cook a lot and this was a true treasure find.

Neoflam is a Korean MFG. who's CEO acknowledged on their Facebook page, that they did not know that using heavy metals like Cadmium and Lead to enhance the shine of thecolor exterior could cause some health issues.

Neoflam makes many types of cookware othen than Fry Pan

Many counties do not have government regulation on materials used on exterior coatings.

I did purchase on my Int'l travel ceramic coated pan made by another MFG.

Circulon Symmetry Chocolate Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set

Circulon Symmetry Chocolate Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware SetThe non-stick coating on this cookware is called Autograph 2, it is one of the latest and best available. It is a three coat process that renders a very durable surface that can be used with metal utensils.

Purchased this set to replace our ancient mis-matched and abused pots and pans.First off I wanted to see if all of the claims were factual.Cleaned in the dishwasher, used metal utensils, even cooked eggs with no oil or spray, then used our portable induction burner.I can honestly say that everything passed with flying colors, the set is up to it all!

The hard anodised aluminum, which is stronger than steel, is thick and gives excellent heat distribution from the bottom and up the sides with no apparent "hot spots".Tried all of the cookware pieces on the induction burner with no problems at all.I will say that it's probably easier to clean this with just a wipe with a dishcloth and rinse, rather than use the dishwasher, the non stick is that good. Metal utensils worked fine, but we have so much of the nylon, as it was necessary with the old pots and pans, well, we use that.Could never fry eggs in the old stuff with out using some oil, not with this, the eggs just slide out.

We also purchased the four quart sauce pot and the covered stir fry pan to go with this set.The lid on the four quart fits the eight inch fry pan, nice to have.Have used the covered stir fry as a wok and as a steamer.Use a small stainless rack that fits in the bottom, great for steaming. Also, it does stir fry without as much heat as the old one, suppose because the heat conduction is so much better.

Am absolutely pleased with this purchase, it is tough, cooks very well and looks great!

Would I purchase again and recommend this set?----You bet I would!

()This is my first experience with a pan set in this price range. I have always been skeptical about these pricy sets, wondering if they really are any better. I have to say that I do think the price tag is worthy of the products in this case. I am in love with this set in every way.

The color is great a bronzy semi-matte metallic brown. I love the silicone grips on the lids and handles no more pot holders or oven mitts!

They are a nice weight, yet not overly bulky. They feel substantial and are a dream to cook with.

The non-stick surfaces are truly non-stick in every sense of the meaning. You know how when you dump out pasta into the strainer and there are a few lonely noodles left that kinda stick to the pan, not because they are burnt on, but just because of the starches I guess.. well that doesn't happen with these pans! EVERYTHING slides right off of and out of them. I know it is just a small rather meaningless example, but it is something that really sticks out to me as far as their performance with the non-stick coating.

They clean up so very well and super easily. Everything rinses right off. I have tried to overcook some items on/in these pans, just to really test them out and see if anything will stick, but so far nothing has. It is almost amazing. I have had other sets in the past that I thought were great, thought the non-stick coating was great, but there is something different and even better with these pans.

The sizing is great on these. I love that each piece is taller, instead of shorter and wider. The pour spout on the smaller pot is convenient.

There is something with the lids too, the way they sit on the pans or something that deters the pot from boiling over. The lids let out just enough steam I guess maybe, that it doesn't allow it to boil over. I have never used another set where I didn't have a boil over at some point. At one time or another as water was boiling for too long, the id would start to bobble and the water would boil out in between the pan and lid and of course over the side of the pan and onto the stove. This doesn't happen with this set.

The pans carmelize like heaven. I have never used a set that performed this well in that aspect. Everytime I cook with these, I fall in love all over again.

I really feel like everything cooks better in these. I originally thought the price tag was just for the brand name and they wouldn't be any better than my other Farberware set, but after using them for a while now it is easy to see that they do actually perform better overall and are worth it.

()This is our first new set or cookware in a long time and our first experience with anodized aluminum.

Anyway, on to our experience using this set, and dealing with customer service:

This is a very attractive cookware set, the chocolate brown coating is very well done IMHO and looks great on a stove top. Defintely does not look like a budget set at all.Additionally this set comes with all the bells and whistles of more expensive brands.Glass lids, silicone handles and scratch resistant teflon coatings.Metal thickness on the pots and pans seems equivalent to what is found on other sets as well.

Using the set with our gas stove has proven not to be an issue I was slightly concerned using the silicone sleeved handles with the gas cooktop.Ensuring not to use overly small pots on the biggest burner has meant this isn't an issue.

As to whether the pans are truly metal utensil safe we just don't plan on risking it.In fact our 2 quart pan developed a chip within the first couple of days of using it which we believed was a manufacturing defect. Here's the customer service part we didn't have to mail the pan back and the company promptly mailed us a new one.Great job on their part.

Small nitpick is that the handles are hollow at the base and near the tip but considering the value the set delivers in other places, I find the trade to be reasonable.

In summary, we are very happy with this.Happy cooking.

()Search Amazon or the Circulon site, and one will find a variety of cookware sets in a wide range of prices. The shopper wonders how much better the higher priced sets are and is this extra cost worth the outlay. I thought about these things when I bought Mrs. Spudman the Circulon Elite set for Christmas. She likes the set but found it wanting in number of pieces and in those lids with the annoying, hard to clean crevice on each one. When I was presented with the opportunity to review the Circulon Symmetry set of cookware, I wondered how different they could be and how much better they could be for the almost $150 price difference.

The difference in quality between the Circulon Symmentry cookware and its Elite cousin is readily apparent as one removes the new cookware from its carefully packed and protected cardboard cocoon. Each piece is resplendent in its elegance, design, and heavy composition. The handles are artfully designed and embellished with the Circulon logo. The ends of the Elite cookware have holes at the end of each piece to enable hanging. The Symmetry pieces have openings for hanging at the end of each handle, but the opening doesn't project through both sides of the handle. These pieces are so heavy that I'd be hesitant to hang them anyway.

The Symmetry pieces have a non sticking coating called Autograph. After some online research at cookware sites, Circulon and at DuPont, I concluded that the Autograph non stick treatment is a top of the line enhancement.

Other likes:

The small sauce pans have curved lips on the edges to accomodate pouring. A nice touch.

Symmetry pieces work well on our glasstop stove and heat quickly. Foods cook evenly and the only way cleanup could be easier is if somebody else did the cleaning for you.

Even though you normally can't see them, the bottoms of these pieces are aesthetic treats, shining in the middle witheasy to read, embedded printing stating the capacity of each piece.

Lids on the Symmetry pieces excel and surpass those of the Elite set. The lids are heavy and substantial with handles fastend with large screws that can be tightened as needed. No adjustments are possible on the Elite handles. Thes lids are also much easier to clean than the Elite lids because there is no hard to reach crevice built into the Symmetry lids.

We both find the chocolate exterior color very attractive. Also attractive that nonstick properties are on the outside and inside of each piece.

Finally The Circulon Elite is a nice set of pots and pans. It's a quality set one can own without breaking the bank. For those who are willing to pay more to move up a couple notches for a set that's both elegant in design and performs exquisitely, it's hard to find fault with the Circulon Symmetry set of cookware.

The cookware I ordered a month ago arrived in just a few days and I have been using all the pots and pans every day. They are the best cookware I have ever owned and I have had lots of sets in my 55 year marriage. I really love this set. They heat so even and are a breeze to wash. So far I haven't found anything to not like about them. The sets includes all the sizes of pots and pans I need. I am so happy I choose this set.

All-Clad Stainless 10-Inch Nonstick Fry Pan

All-Clad Stainless 10-Inch Nonstick Fry PanI've heard some complain that their nonstick surface did not last as long as they would have liked, or that it actually became sticky. Those reading should know that you should only use a nonstick pan for cooking things that require it, like; omlettes, eggs, pancakes, etc. For sautes and normal cooking, you should have another regular (i.e. not a nonstick type) pan. This will ensure that your nonstick pan will last a very long time because you will not be prematurely wearing it down by using it for cooking it was not made for. Sautes cook much better on a regular pan anyway. You should only use plastic or wood utensils on it, never metal. Also, nonstick pans are NOT dishwasher safe! Dishwashers will damage the nonstick surface! Wash your nonstick with a soft sponge and soapy water only.

All Clad is probably the best cookware around. This is due to the layered metal design (and the lifetime warranty). It has stainless steel layers with aluminium in between. This works to evenly distribute the heat (even if you have a nasty electric element stove!) because aluminium is a great heat conductor. Also, this pan has the layers on the sides as well so the heat distribution is quite even.

That said, my feeling is that this pan is too expensive. It's very well made and works well, however for non stick pans, you will see very similar performace in the much cheaper Emerilware nonstick (also made by All Clad). The difference is that the Emerilware nonstick pan does not use any stainless steel. Instead, it uses anodized aluminium. Aluminium is a great heat conductor so this pan will perform just as well, for a much cheaper price. The outside finish may not look as good for as long as a stainless steel finish though so if you care about looks and don't mind spending the money, this All Clad is tops.

The Emerilware one still has the lifetime warranty and is of the exact same dimensions as the All Clad branded one. And I like the handle on the Emerilware even better than the handle on the All Clad.

With this All Clad, you are paying more for the layered stainless steel and aluminium, which require more labor to produce as well as more metel and materials.

Of course the choice is yours. If you want the best and don't mind spending the extra money, this All Clad is tops. If however you want nearly identical performance at a cheaper cost and the same lifetime warranty, the less expensive Emerilware pan would be a better match. I don't think you can go wrong either way!

I've been an owner of All Clad for 15 years. My non-stick fry pan however looses it's teflon coating every 12-24 months along the edges.Probably not good for my health. However, I would simply drop the pan in the mail, send back to All Clad and almost like magic a new pan would be shipped to me within 7 days.Since All Clad was bought in 2004 everything has changed. They give you a hard time about using there famous warranty, and make the process difficult with RMA numbers, having to write something to them and wait to hear from them with a shipping number. It took them 2 weeks just to reply and give me a shipping number. Now they've had my pan for 4+ weeks and they told me it may be another 2 weeks. What's the point of the warranty?I am done with All Clad.Such a bummer.

My pan stopped being a non-stick pan about 18 months after I bought it.When I contacted All-Clad to have the pan repaired under warrantee I received the following email. All -Clad charges top dollar for their product.

Judge for yourself.

___________________

Dear Mr. Eisenberg,

We thank you for your email via All-Clad.com.We regret to learn that you have experienced any difficulties with your All-Clad cookware.

From date of purchase, All-Clad guarantees to repair or replace any item found defective in material, construction or workmanship under normal use and following care instructions. This excludes any damage resulting from improper use and care. Minor imperfections and slight color variations are normal.

We will be happy to provide a warranty evaluation.Prior to sending in your cookware, please review the following explanation of improper use and care that may have voided your warranty:

Most instances when the non-stick coating has lost its' non-stick properties, it is due to overheating of the pan.Cookware with non-stick coatings should be used on low to medium heat settings.Due to the superior quality of All-Clad cookware the cookware will heat up quicker and retain the heat. One indication that your pan has been overheated is that your non-stick has turned a brown or rusty color.Overheating of the non-stick coating will cause the non-stick properties to break down.As a result you will find that foods are sticking to the cookware.Overheating voids the warranty. You may try to clean the non-stick coating with a mixture of baking soda and mild dish detergent using a soft cloth.Depending on the degree of overheating, this may help return some of the

non-stick performance.

If there are digs, nicks or scratches to the non-stick coating from the use of metal utensils or sharp knives, this will affect the performance of the non-stick and will void the warranty.

Wearing away of the non-stick due to use of abrasive cleaners or scouring pads is not covered under the warranty.

If the non-stick appears to be flaking, but you do not see the stainless steel underneath, this may be due to residual oil build up on the pan.Oils hide within non-stick surfaces in places where they cannot be removed simply with soap and water. These oils burn during subsequent uses and create a layer that food can stick too and also can flake off.Sprinkle a bit of the baking soda into your pan. Add warm water and dish detergent to make a soupy solution. Use a soft cloth, plastic-looped scrubber, or a food-grade nylon scrubbing brush to agitate the debris in a circular motion.Rinse well with cold water and dry thoroughly to avoid spotting.

If you feel that the problem you are encountering is not a result of any of the above use and care issues, we will be happy to provide a warranty evaluation for replacement. Please package the product securely and include a brief note that explains the problem that you are experiencing with the item(s). Include in the note your name and return address. Please also mark the outside of the package clearly with the number 110416-000003.Send the return to the below address. We strongly suggest that you use a traceable form of shipping and retain the tracking number for your records. We cannot be responsible for packages that are lost or damaged in transit.

This is my most-used pan.My only beef is that the non-stick coating degrades over time. The coating desn't flake off like cheaper immitations, but it does wear away. After a couple of years, it just wasn't working.Frying an egg is the ultimate test of a non-stick.They slide around the pan when the pan is new.I returned it to All-Clad, and they replaced it with a new one.I'm now on my second pan and after another couple of years, it's going the same way.I can't complain about customer service, as they gave me a new pan without any original packaging or a receipt.

I wash the pan by hand and I never use metalic utensils in it.I never use it inside the oven.I think as far as non-sticks go, this is a fine product.I just don't think there is such a thing as a non-stick that can last that long.If All-Clad are happy to keep replacing my pan, then I guess I'll stick with it.

Want All-Clad Stainless 10-Inch Nonstick Fry Pan Discount?

This pan is great when new. However, when you spend $125 on a pan, you expect to use it for a long time.Unfortunately, after a year or so, this pan started to develop a sticky film that compromised the non-stick cooking surface.All-Clad refused to exchange the pan for a new one, despite the fact that we followed their instructions with respect to heat and cleaning.

Bottom line is that you should stick with all-clad for stainless cookware. For non-stick, go with a cheaper alternative that you don't mind replacing every couple of years because All-Clad will not stand by their product.

Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Round Griddle

Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick 12-Inch Round GriddleThis review is for the 12" ANOLON ADVANCED BRONZE GRIDDLE PAN (without grill marks). I own several other Anolon Bronze pans and have used them over 5 months. The color is very appealing, although I find the "bronze" to be more akin to dark tan.

This pan looked perfect for my needs; a large, flat pan that utilizes all 12" of the non-stick surface. I purchased two of them to serve my direct purpose cooking large batches of pancakes and fritters.

This ANOLON ADVANCED BRONZE pan is medium-heavy weight, with a comfortable soft grip, cool touch, riveted handle. The cooking surface is deep brown-black in color and is non-stick. The exterior color is not very visible on this pan due to the low, 1/2" height profile, and although listed as Anolon BRONZE, only the handle is colored; the sides and bottom of the pan are a uniform dark gray.

PROS:

*Can utilize all 12" of pan surface, thus increasing "production".

*These pans clean up very easily, with the exception of one pan that has residual grease adhering to the exterior (eldest son used it not sure if the cooking temperature was too high).

*Eye appealing; bronze color is nice, but only visible on handle.

*Comfortable easy grip, cool touch handle.

*Bought it on sale for $50 from another vendor.

CONS:

*Manufacturer recommends only medium temps (not high) be used for cooking.

*Due the weight of the handle, the pan does not sit flat on electric stove burner, subsequently, any shortening/butter/oil used during cooking "pools" at side closest to handle. This results in uneven frying of foods. I resort to tedious tilting of the pan during cooking to assure shortening reaches all of the food.

*Difficulty regulating cooking temperature during initial use. (Note: I pre-warm my pans on LOW for several minutes to evenly disperse heat, then adjust to medium to frying.) On medium heat, the pan seems either too cool to fry crisply, or too hot, causing burned edges of fritters/pancakes. (This could, in part be due to the uneven dispersion of shortening in pan, or simply my need for an extended product "adjustment/acclimation" period.)

*Cooking surface shows minor scratches with consistent use of silicone spatula and only rare use of nylon or metal (an expected finding since non-stick pans are not impervious).

All in all, I DO LIKE these griddle pans with one MAJOR caveat the heavy handle "tilt", causing shortening to "pool" at one side. At a price point of $50-$80 per pan, I wouldn't expect such a design flaw. However, if you cook solely without use of shortenings, then this pan may be the perfect one for you.

If BUDGET CONSCIOUS, you may want to consider the ANOLON ADVANCED black griddle pan Anolon Advanced 12-Inch Open Round Griddle; cost $25-50 with the difference being the color of the handle and perhaps a basic black colored non-stick interior.

I purchased this item, because of the super value and to add to the basic 10 piece starter set I already own. These pots and pans are a nice weight and very non-stick inside and out, which makes for super easy clean up.The color is complimentary to sophisticated and goes well with most kitchen decors. I would certainly purchase this product line again in the future.

George Foreman Family Size Plus Grills

George Foreman GR26CB Family Size Plus Grill with Cookbook, WhiteI had wanted to get this grill for awhile, but was still a little leery of its merits.I finally bought it anyway, and so far, have been loving it!I anticipate that during the summer it will replace my oven.

I cook a lot of chicken, either in the skillet, or in the oven. With this grill, you don't have to worry about turning the chicken, watching it, etc.All I really do it watch the clock. The first night I had the grill, I made salmon fillets, and they turned out great.

While I love the grill so far, there are a few things to watch out for.The first time I cooked chicken, I overcooked it..you kind of need to play around with the times in the booklet enclosed with the grill.I also found that I needed to push the grease tray farther back (closer to the grill) than I initially thought. Also, it does get quite smoky, so it would probably be most ideal if your kitchen had some kind of window.

With cleaning, you really do have to do it while the grill is still warm, or it makes it a lot harder to clean off.

I've barely used my oven since getting this grill..in the summer it will be great not having to heat up the whole house.

I bought the George Foreman grill as a joke for my husband (it DOES say "Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine" on it), but we used it for three weeks solid after it arrived. The reason? It's EASY, and the food turns out really tasty!

This particular model is big enough to cook several portions of meat at a time -it cooks from the top and bottom all at once to cut your cooking time down to mere minutes! The grill is tilted and comes with a trough so that all excess fat is drained away from your food. Pretty nifty! It's also fairly easy to clean up -you just wipe down the grill and throw the trough in the dishwasher.

We've used the grill for chicken breasts, Boca Burgers, regular burgers, pork chops, steaks, and even bacon strips (it's GREAT for avoiding a bunch of messy bacon grease). It cooks even frozen meat in a relatively short period of time, and it cooks it thoroughly. It's easy to throw something on the grill, sprinkle some seasonings on it (BAM!), and let it cook for a few minutes while you fix the rest of the meal. It is hard to overcook things, and it's fun to have grill-lines on your food.

It took me awhile to believe the hype about the George Foreman Grills, but they are easy to use and deliver good results. In fact, this might be a good way to introduce your older children (12 and up) to rudimentary cooking. The George Foreman grill would be great for people who don't have a lot of time to cook & clean, who aren't yet confident cooks or don't have a lot of cooking experience, or for anyone who wants an easy way to make a tasty meal!

First off, let me state that I never buy anything that I see on television or any mass-marketed, "must own" product. With my wife being 8 months pregnant, it suddenly became a priority for me to pitch in and take care of some meals. We purchased the George Foreman "Family Size" grill, thinking that I could grill some things up without trudging outside to fire up the gas grill, cooking it, and scraping the grill, etc.

Well, we have now had it one week and thus far I have already prepared:chicken breasts, salmon, cod, hotdogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, potatoes, and even ostrich (the most nutritional red meat there is)! Each of these things were among the best I've ever tasted. The quality of the grilling rivals that of any I've ever achieved on an outdoor grill. Each meal took under 10 minutes (including pre-heating) to cook, and 5 minutes to clean up.I cannot say enough about this product.

I recommend buying at least the family size grill. It's perfect for easily getting multiple items on at the same time. For example, I grilled three burgers and some sliced, red skinned potatoes at the same time. This size seems perfect for 2 or 3 people, despite claims that it can hold enough for 5 or 6 people.

You know how you go through an infatuation period with a new kitchen appliance? Then it gets put in a storeroom and falls out of your life like an old boyfriend or girlfriend. It happened to our pastamaker, our ice-cream maker, but I don't think it's going to happen to our George Foreman grill.I really think it's going to occupy prime kitchen counterspace forever.

The main reason is that it is extremely versatile. It grills meats easily; everything comes out firm on the outside and juicy on the inside. But it is also a dandy sandwich-maker it makes the world's best grilled cheese; the cheese and bread undergo a kind of spiritual transformation and become as one.

Do yourself a favor buy a really good loaf of bread, spread it with a little olive oil, and make the world's best toast.

But although it does an excellent job with fish fillets, you use it for this purpose at your peril.Even though I scrubbed it daily it took five or more days before my toast did not taste like Charlie the Tuna.So no fish would be my advice (or, get the newer Foreman grill with the removable grill plates, which presumably could be de-salmonized in the dishwasher).

I am a big fan of the Foreman grill machine. The problem is, I use it.

I am on my third machine now in less than two years, and the surface is hopeless again.

No matter how much they tell you to use the plasticware, etc, if you use salt or other seasonings in the cooker, you will lose the surface like so many other coated devices.

If there was an all-stainless cooker for triple the money even quadruple I'd buy it.

All-Clad Brushed Stainless D5 Non-Stick 8-Inch Fry PanWe have a set of All-Clad cookware and needed to add a small non-stick fry pan, now that we have an induction cooktop. The skillet is pretty and works very well.My only complaint is that the price is high.

Calphalon Unison Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Omelette Pan Set

Calphalon Unison Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Omelette Pan SetNearly 10 months ago I purchased this item at the same time as another product, Cuisinart FCT22-20NS French Classic Tri-Ply Stainless 8-Inch Nonstick Skillet, specifically to compare them and guide my future purchases. After extensive daily usage of both products I can share my perspective and hope it helps others. I will be comparing only the 8 inch Calphalon pan to the 8 inch Cuisinart.

The Cuisinart product is a classic pro-style pan that seemed perfect for what I was after. That said, I was drawn to the Calphalon product by the attractive pricing and decent product reviews I found here on Amazon and elsewhere on the web. I am an avid appreciator of omelettes and there is no better task to test the sticky-factor of a pan than with omelettes especially as I am a flipper, not a folder.

I found both the Cuisinart and Calphalon pans to have good feel to them. The handle design and the weight of the pans is slightly different. The Cuisinart handle arcs higher which I preferred a bit more. The slope of the sides of the pan on the Calphalon is steeper leaving a larger cooking surface area on the bottom. For an omelette flipper the Cuisinart's less dramatic slope made it easier. That said, after a couple weeks of use I could achieve the same results with either.

Both pans perform well as a non-stick surface product. Very little effort to keep things from sticking and it required little to no butter or oil to get that result from both. These surfaces on both pans seemed to perform better once "broken in" even though that's not generally a characteristic of this material.

Now for durability. I invest way too much in cooking gear to use sharp tools on them. So I stick with just plastic tipped tongs or a silicone spatulas. Period. Regardless of my efforts, both pans are showing signs of scratches on the cooking surface a very disappointing finding. The Cuisinart looks to have held off scratches much better than the Calphalon. I expect that to start affecting the non-stick capabilities in a couple years as the scratches worsen. Both items are labeled as dishwasher safe and I did take advantage of that and it worked out well. The external surface of the Calphalon is easier to care for than the stainless surface on the Cuisinart.

So, it would seem that for half the price the Calphalon performed very well against the Cuisinart. The longevity of the Cuisinart will likely be the differenciator in the long run. But since I received two pans for pretty close to the same price in the Calphalon offering it really does win my vote in the end.

I don't know if these pans were damaged or if they were just poorly finished, but I returned the original and the second set that were sent to me for the same reason. The first set had numerous scratches or dents on the edge of the pan along where the non stick surface finishes onto the anodized back. The 10" pan had the most. The 8" pan had that and a large dent smack in the middle of the cooking surface. The finish looked fine where the dent was, which leads me to believe it may have been like this out of the factory.

The second set I received also had the scratches as the first (one again, more scratching on the 10" than the 8").The 8" pan this time had discolorations in the finish, which are likely caused by poor application of the finish at the factory.

Overall, I'm not impressed, and certainly not for pans that are "list priced" for 200 dollars. In my opinion, Calphalon should package these better in the first place.1/3 of the pan isn't protected by the packaging at all.Not good when you're dealing with non sticks, where once the finish is damaged, you really shouldn't continue their use.

I bought the set direct from Calphalon before it appeared elsewhere. The finish is wonderful, the food actually does slide from the pans.My warranty says they can be washed in the dishwasher.I like the weight, they seem to be more like the old made-in-USA Calphalon bought years ago and passed on to family as I have cut back in cooking.I needed good omelet pans (you'd be surprised how many eggs seniors eat (smile)) and these more than satisfied me.A cover I already own fits one pan and I have ordered a cover from Calphalon for the other pan. That's because I tend to use these pans for almost everything I cook, stir fries, sautees, sauces, meats, veggies, I just made BubbleNSqueak in the large pan yesterday and needed the cover for that dish to tenderize the cabbage.I recommend this set without hesitation.I am sorry I wasn't able to buy it from Amazon, I am a died in the wool customer of Amazon.I will buy more in the Unison line and it will be from Amazon.

This Calphalon Unison Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Omelette Pan Set just arrived well packaged and in great condition from Amazon.I just wanted to show you on video what it looks like out of the box in case you are interested in how it is packaged which is perfectly! As you can tell from the video, they are GORGEOUS!

I was looking to purchase a new healthy pan to replace my Saladmaster 10" electric skillet that we use to cook silver dollar pancakes twice weekly. About two years ago we purchased an ultra-expensive titanium Saladmaster oil core electric skillet which over time has turned into you have to put tons of oil to be able to flip the pancakes; it is almost like you have to deep fat fry them now although it worked great at first. I first selected the The 10" Green Earth Frying Pan by Ozeri, with Textured Ceramic Non-Stick Coating (100% PTFE and PFOA Free) to try.We made 3 batches of 3 silver dollar pancakes the day after cooking a goat cheese scallion omelet in them; they both flipped ok and cleaned fine HOWEVER afterwards I noticed it had left a strange taste on the food both times; both items cooked in the pan left a strange taste in my mouth as well as made my mouth a little numb.It was similar to the sensations just prior to or just subsequent to your mouth being put to sleep for dental work.I decided it might be healthy for environment and easy to clean but possibly harmful to eat foods cooked in there!

So then after much research, I selected this Calphalon Unison Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Omelette Pan Set and I am so glad I did!My pancakes were so easy to flip the first time, I tried flipping them back over with just a fingernail and it worked!VERY NON-STICK.Cleaned up with a mere wipe of wet towel.Fantastic! And the pans left no weird aftertaste on the food or in our mouths nor numbed our mouths so these pans are keepers! They are beautiful and the perfect weight.I use them on a smooth top stove.Thank you Calphalon and Amazon for great healthy pans at a great price!

The only con for this pan set is for our dog who is very disappointed that each pancake comes out perfectly in our new Calphalon Unison Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Omelette Pan Set and wants to continue to get the pancakes that don't turn our right like she did with the Saladmaster electric pan....

Want Calphalon Unison Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Omelette Pan Set Discount?

I'm happy with these pans.I got a good price as well for the two pans through ekitchenworld/amazon. Really, really thick aluminum too, great handles.

I used the 8" yesterday for an over easy egg perfect! just slid out of the pan like it was on ball bearings!

I am happy that the pans say Toledo, Ohio, I have old Toledo Calphalon hard anodized that is just great and holding up beautifully.I also have some of the Chinese Calphalon it's lighter weight and the nonstick was really fragile, (I've tossed the nonstick).Just good to see them making quality pans stateside again!

George Foreman GGR50 Indoor/Outdoor Grill

George Foreman GGR50B Indoor/Outdoor GrillBefore I get into this review, we have to understand the product we are looking at: a George Foreman ELECTRIC grill. George Foreman products are essentially useful variations of hotplates. In this case, the hot plate takes the form of a grill (with a stand, a dome cover, a large cooking surface with raised grooves etc...).

That being said, this product caters to people (me) willing to try a product that is not a traditional charcoal grill, could be useful in smaller spaces/porches, looks like it is easy to use and clean up, could potentially cut some fat (never hurts, right?), and seems like it will work well as a good back-up grill or a quick solution to throwing mini-bbqs requiring even heat distribution without the hassle of buying/lighting/dumping coal. If that's you, then read on...

Here, I'll try my best to outline the grill's pros and cons, as well as do a quick, inevitable comparison it to a traditional charcoal grill.

PROS:

The pros of this grill basically equal the pros of using hot plates in general:

1) Quick Heat The whole surface heats up very quickly (you'll be ready to cook in a few minutes after you twist the switch)

2) Design Basically you have the stand, a bottom dome, the flat grill that sits on the bottom dome, then the lid (top dome). You can easily remove the flat grill part to use indoors separate from the stand, and it also makes for easy cleaning since you can just throw the flat grill surface in the sink.

3) Easy to Clean The grill surface is relatively easy to clean. Understand, grease is never easy to clean. But in my situation, i wipe off the chunks of grease with paper towels, then run hot water over it in the sink (yes it fits in my sink) and wash it with a soapy sponge. It's basically like cleaning a big oily plate by hand in the sink, however easy or hard that is to you.

4) Space Saving The bulk of the materials are where it should be: the grilling surface. Everything else (aka the stand) is small and portable.

5) Easy to Assemble A no brainer. Put the pole of the stand into the foot of the stand. Attach the grilling surface to the bottom dome. Stick that whole thing on the stand. Then put the cover on top. Took a few minutes while I was watching TV.

6) Great Tasting Food Of course this part is important. I tried cooking everything unseasoned and it just tastes great. I mean, this this one thing I love about hotplates...food tastes good without a lot of seasoning. I cooked unseasoned burgers, top sirloin, chuck roast, kielbasa..it was fast, it tasted good, and it had good looking grill stripes on it when I was done.

Cons:

Seriously, not much that I can think of. If I had to be picky:

1) Could be a little heavy for people with a bad back?

2) When you lift it by the handles, the stand comes out (since they're not really "attached"....the grill just sits on the stand.) So you gotta lift it by the pole of the stand, really...this isn't even a con truthfully.

3) People complain about the grease not dripping into the pan. Well, it's a hot plate with grooves and a hole in it for grease to drip. Of course not all the grease magically swims toward the magical grease drip hole. But still, it works fine...I didn't notice sever grease build-up that stood in the way of my grilling.

Comparison to a Traditional Grill:

Really, there shouldn't be a comparison. Obviously this is not a charcoal grill and should never be compared to one. They are just 2 different things, and so they make food taste different: traditional grills basically fire cook your food through the coal's heat so you get the taste of charcoal while this product essentially "pan sears" your food. I'm a long time lover of all kinds of BBQ, and charcoal grills are great fun, make great tasting food and really cannot be replicated. You shouldn't be buying this grill to ever *REPLACE* a charcoal grill; it should be bought to be a 2nd grill that's great for rainy days or a primary grill if you really have no space and don't have time/space to deal with lighting and dumping charcoal.

Overall, this grill is an electric hot plate with raised grooves that makes great tasting food quickly, quietly, and easily. And for what it is, it's a SUPERB product (and relatively affordable too!). Go get one! I didn't regret my purchase and I don't think you will either.

Originally I saw my mother's George Forman grill (smaller indoor one with lid). Then I saw my brother's Party Size grill. Both of them love their grill.I was able to taste the food from both and found it very tasty and easy to use.I decided to do some investigating on my own intending to purchase the party size grill, when I saw the indoor/outdoor grill.I was impressed with the fact that it appeared to be a bigger cooking surface and the price I found was within reason.I purchased it for the purpose of using it as an extra grill for a cookout I was having. No one used the gas grill at all.I have since used it indoors without the stand, making it convient on rainy days.It is the easiest grill to use and clean that we have ever owned. You can cook everything evenly, because there are no coals to level out.It can easily hold 4 to 5 steaks, 10 big hamburgers, and the list goes one.I am sure there are some drawbacks to those that swear by gas/charcoal grills, but my gas grill has found a permanent residence in our shed, while George sits ready to use at any time indoors or out on our back porch.I am so impressed, that I am purchasing one for my parents for Christmas, to replace the charcoal grill that takes for ever to heat up and messy to clean. I'm sure they'll love it too!

I bought this grill 4 months ago and have used it several times per week ever since.I am a very lazy cook with 3 hungry teens and a hubby who eats like he's a heavyweight boxer. So, I needed something that would cook and clean-up as easily as possible.I can turn on the grill (it has an adjustable thermostat), take out a package of frozen chicken, hamburger patties, whatever, prepare it as usual, and the grill is ready to go to work. Dinner is on the table in no time. Its non-stick surface is just that, making clean-up simple and quick.

I am quite happy with the surface area, as I can easily fit 8 large burgers on at once. I live in the frozen north, so the fact that this grill will also work indoors is plus.

It's portable, reliable, easy to use and clean, and a bargain compared to other outdoor grills.

George put his name on a very good product.

Update: I have owned this grill for 2 1/2 years now and it still works like new!

Let's get right to it:

Pros:

1. Can be used on decks and balconies where gas or charcoal are forbidden as a fire risk.

2. Small footprint, can be used tableside or on pedestal

3. Foreman (Salton) quality is reliable

4. No gas or charcoal lighter flavor--great if you are chemically sensitive (I happen to be.)

5. Quick heating

6. No need to replenish a gas bottle or run out of charcoal.

Now the Cons:

1. Be careful of the fat drainage; if you clog the hole, it can get ugly, real ugly.

2. On that note, if you have a composite deck--one made of resin and sawdust or even a wood deck, any spilled fat or juices will stain your planks. An outdoor rug or mat under the grill is a good idea--something that will catch drips.

3. The grill really isn't as hot as really hot charcoal or gas and you won't get that char-broiled taste. No different than cooking indoors.

4. Requires an outlet.

This type of grill is very common in Europe, where charcoal and gas are not popular or outright forbidden (for example, in Germany, where fires are taken seriously. In a country where houses are cheek-by-jowl, fire prevention is of primary concern.) If you are in an area that does not allow open fire or outdoor grilling, this is a very excellent alternative.

My only problem is the "convenient" drip pan.Maybe i'm the only one who likes to cook more than one thing at a time; but anyways, the fat and juices of the meat quickly overflowed the tiny drip pan and ran out the bottom making a mess everywhere. The "convenient" drip pan is located under the hot metal plate and you just try and empty it while cooking.Luckily I was cooking outside!! The grill works surprisingly well and the food produced was just excellent.Be aware of this problem or you might not be so lucky.

Lodge Skillet with Glass Lid

Lodge L10SKG3 Skillet with Glass Lid, 12-inchI called Lodge and they verified that this is the same skillet as the 12" L10SK3.This package includes the glass lid.Mine was packed OK by both Lodge and Amazon.

We often use this skillet for making pizza, and it is equally brilliant for wilting veggies, baking a skillet cookie, bread, etc.

I cook absolutely EVERYTHING with this skillet! I was raised on cast iron and was lacking any of my own when I first got married. I haven't found any other pan that cooks the way I want short of cast iron. This was a reasonable price and included a lid which is very helpful. So long as you know proper care of cast iron, this item will not disappoint.

Colourworks 24 cm Ceramic Non-Stick Frying Pan

Colourworks Ceramic Non-Stick 24cm Frying Pan - PinkWho could ask for more. I love his pan.Not only is it a cheery color but I have been using mine for months and it still looks like new. Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Stainless Saute with Helper and Cover

Cuisinart MCP33-30H MultiClad Pro Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Saute with Helper and CoverI am very happy with the Multiclad Pro cookware in general. This is a heavy pan (to be expected due to its size) but if you need a large saute pan this is a great size nice and deep. The rolled edge makes pouring very neat (it just takes 2 hands for me until most of the extra weight is removed thank God for the helper handle, a wonderful feature). It heats quickly and cleans easily but, as mentioned in other reviews, it does discolor on the bottoms interior turns blueish, exterior turns brownish from the application of heat (this is not an issue for me as I was looking for cooking ability not asthetics.)

One big beef I have is that the bottom is NOT flat and it wobbles on my glass top range. I have no doubt that this effects the even-ness of the cooking. We are planning a move and I am switching to a gas range otherwise I would have returned it and tried another one. (not a different brand)

I am an advid, experienced cook making most foods from scratch and I would recommend this product just be aware of some of it's limitations.

I do highly recommend the Multiclad Pro line it is a great product at a great price especially when compared to other "professional" quality cookware.

I think this cookware is a really great alternative to All Clad Stainless. I have three pieces of the Cuisinart Multiclad and they are all comparable to the All Clad in terms of performance. Careful you have to take care of these pans. Don't put salt in them unless there is boiling liquid or the pans will pit and I wouldn't recommend putting them in the dishwasher. Another comparable line is the Calphalon Tri-Ply.

Overall 23" (handle to handle).Pan 12.5" x 3.25"5.5 quarts.

The size and depth is perfect for stove top or oven casseroles/stir-fry to feed a large family or for plenty of leftovers. Plenty of pan room to fry up to four hot sandwiches/French bread, 6 to 8 or more burgers, pancakes, fry an entire chicken with room to spare, etc.

The long handle is nice and the helper handle is a big help to maneuver a large fully loaded pan. Measure your oven to make sure this long handled pan will fit in your oven if you need it to.

This needs a 13 inch splatter screen. Many styles of screens, some with four 'feet' formed in the rim, and a style with tri-feet extension of the handle under the screen.

A splatter guard is nice, too.(three sided 'wall') Norpro-2063-Nonstick-Splatter-Guard. I use one like this all the time. My stove top is built in with a sit down bar behind it. Keeps the grease spatters off the bar.

As an addition to our newly renovated kitchen we purchased a set of Cusinart Multiclad Pro Stainless. The addition of the 5 1/2 quart saute pan has already been put to the test with the sauteing of five pounds of onions. The large surface area and the heavy bottom produced an excellent result with even cooking and no burning. We could have spent much more but I doubt we would have achieved any better result. The rest of the set also performs well.

I must say that i am thoroughly pleased with this saute pan great heat transfer and it is easily cleaned. Even if you leave it till the next morning, a short soak in water will release all of the remains on the surface. Good fond development, deglazes easily, making sauces is a snap. looking to get the 3qt version someday for samller tasks. After spending thousands of dollars over the years on calphalon products, I am now a cuisinart man. Too bad everyone except all-clad manufactures in china. really a shame. if you dont have the scarole for all-clad, this is a very good buy.

Norpro 8 Inch Egg Poacher Skillet Set with Removable 4 Egg Poacher

Norpro 8 Inch Egg Poacher Skillet Set with Removable 4 Egg PoacherThis pan reminds me of the somewhat flimsy items you can find in supermarkets -bright and shiny but not built last. The handle has no heft, and the egg cups and frame seem unlikely to last for long.I suppose that's the best you can get for $30 these days. However, after trying the cute little silicone egg poachers also available at Amazon, I was much happier with the egg-cooking experience using this pan.The eggs cooked evenly and there was no difficulty with water boiling up over the sides of the cups, as is the case with the silcone versions.

Update -one week later:I pulled one of the egg cups out of the dishwasher and watched the little handle/knob bounce away. The screw holding it had come loose during the wash cycle.Being smaller than the screen at the bottom of my machine, the screw must have disappeared down the drain. So, now I have to make the time to visit the hardware store to see if I can find a replacement. What a nuisance!I'm dropping my rating from 3 down to 2 stars for this.

This pan combo works exactly as described and is so easy to use.The individual cups are perfect to remove eggs as they finish, but beware of the steam vent holes and don't burn your fingers (hint turn the cup handles to the outside when you start). The pan can also be used without the insert so it is dual purpose. Sturdy enough for home use and the clear lid makes watching the eggs easy. I choose to hand wash mine but it is dishwasher safe.

It poaches the egg, but the pan after the first use developed strange dots on the pan. Then the holder that you lift the eggs out with, came undone. It was stripped so I had to find another screw that would work. Finally, the top of the lid always has standing water in it.I wouldn't buy again.Buy american, not made in china.

Works great. Needs something to encourage the non-stick cups to let go. A thin film of oil as described in the directions that come with the skillet will do the trick. The amount of oil is minscule. However, for those purists who complain about having to use ANY oil and those who complain that a proper poached egg is floating in hot water, a small amount of plain water---1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon---in the cup will also do the trick. The water stays on the bottom and does not readily mix with the white without agitation but boils and evaporates and keeps the egg from sticking. They slide right out and the texture of the cooked eggs strongly resembles the desired "poached" look. A win-win for sure.

Eclectic Electric Skillet CookBook

Eclectic Electric Skillet CookBookI've tried a few recipes from this book and they are well written and turn out as desired. I wanted more one pan meals and there is a section in the back for "meals in a fry pan." Includes appetizers, dressings and the usual meats and vegetables. There are plenty of helps in the front and back about steaming, stir frying and fat-free cooking.I was surprised that there are some recipes for baking bread right in the skillet.

Some recipes require the use of the skillet, empty and wash, then continue to use it. I found this to be too much trouble for me anyway. I cook some of my ingredients on the stove and then place in the skillet. But I suppose the author was trying to use the skillet exclusively for a complete meal.

Overall, it's a nice cookbook specifically for the electric skillet.

This book has a nice selection of recipes.I enjoy the pictures and good instructions. It makes a nice addition to my new skillet.

The reason I ordered this book is because I do not like to take the time to go to Presto.com and look up recipies. As for the recipies themselves, over-all they are a bit above of time & interest level.Need I mention skill level?Since I am way-below-average as a meal preparer for a family of four, most of you meal preparers will probably find the recipies rather "elementary, my dear".I don't regret the purchase.Order the grill insert also.Mine is around here somewhere.
