Magnalite Classic 10-Quart Covered Stockpot

Magnalite Classic 10-Quart Covered StockpotPlease be aware that this item is not the original life-long Magnalite that many of us have grown up with but an inferior product made in China.I received this piece today and knew immediately that it was not the same as my many other Magnalite pots just by the lightweight feel of it.I turned it over and on the bottom was stamped China. The authentic Magnalite pieces have been and are still produced by the American Culinary Corporation here in the USA.

When my mom cooked for us while we were growing up, she used Magnalite pots. That's one of my sensory memories: Mom tapping the spoon on the side after stirring something, making a deeply satisfying DONG sound (uhhhh, the pot, not Mom). She lost all her Magnalite pots in Hurricane Katrina, so when my parents bought a new home, my siblings and I got my Mom the whole Magnalite set and this pot to set her straight again. She was ecstatic to have something familiar again, and she's still as happy nearly two years later. OK, she's not constantly as happy. Sometimes she gets mad at my dad when he feeds the dog jelly beans. But still. Totally worth it.

Fitx-All Replacement Pan Handle

Fitx-All Replacement Pan HandleWhen a handle broke on a fry pan that saw daily use for more than 25 years, I looked for a replacement. How disappointing to find that this Fitz-All handle is the only one on the market!I didn't realize how nice the original handle was until I replaced it with this lightweight, flimsy handle. But that's not the problem the problem is that it broke after only a couple of months.I bought a second one, which lasted seven months, and now I've ordered a third one. These handles apparently just can't stand up to the heat they start showing cracks and then break. When I get the new one, I plan to put it on a deeper pan to keep it farther from the heat source. Also, I don't use the deep pan very often, so maybe the handle will last longer.

If anyone finds a better alternative, please post a message!Meanwhile, I'll have to keep buying these cheap handles...

Tops 1090 Fitz-All Replacement Pan Handle

Unfortunately I purchased one of these replacement pot handles, it is an accident waiting to happen. It is so flimsy I had to remove it and throw the pot away it is useless and should not be sold by Amazon or anyone else. I will try to get a refund..

The Fitx-All are too poorly made to last any time.Aluminum screw included in package was too small and even if it did fit is too soft metal to tighten properly. The Fitx-All lid knobs broke in half when tighten down on the lid. If you do purchase these handles expect it to be quite temporary and disappointing.I do not trust these handles and will not put them on large fry pan or pots where they could break with hot food in them.

The other reviews are entirely correct. These handles are terrible in that the handle breaks very easily and the screw does not keep the handle in place.Really deserves zero stars.

I was disappointed with the replacement as it could not stand up to the heat even though I cooked on low flame. Within only a few weeks the handle had basically fell off as it could not withstand the heat.

5 Tier Pan Organizer

5 Tier Pan OrganizerI bought this to put my Viking SS pans on.Not beefy enough to handle the weight.BUT ... I ended up putting it on it's back and it works great.Just takes up a little more cupboard space.Because the Viking cookware is so heavy, it is nice to not have to move a stack of heavy pans to get to the one I want to use.Bravo.

Not very stable, pans slide off easily, esp one on top which picture doesn't show one on top.Key is leaving a heavy pan on bottom, which then reduces the purpose of the product.

Great product! This fits perfectly in my cabinet, I do suggest that you measure first. Also, you can put more then one pan in the bottom and top tiers.

I really like this one. It holds the pans nicely and the pans are really easy to pull out. It fits in my cabinet with room to spare. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to have organized cabinets.

Presto 09984 Probe

Presto 09984 ProbeI lost the original probe & cable, so I couldn't use my little fryer for awhile. This is a very special cableyou can't find it at Radioshack or anywhere else! It has two holes & one probe, which is unique. It connects to a special magnetic part on the other end, which gives you the ability to disconnect in a second, & not fumble to try & turn off the thermostat when it's hot. My other electric pans are not like it. Now I can make tortilla chips by the pound, & fry my won-tons.

Nordic Ware Holiday Pancake Pan

Nordic Ware Holiday Pancake PanSo cute! (see customer images). Mine is an older version, I think, because mine only has 4shapes (I didn't get it on amazon). I wish that mine had seven like this one though, because 4 at a time is slow! My only complaint is that you have to be patient fliping them over. it is hard to get the spatula into the circular insets, and I had to use my fingers to help after the spatula pried it up, but they all came out perfectly! They didn't leave chunks behind on the pan at all.

Whole wheat pancakes do not look good... the shapes, while accurate, are harder to see (at least with the recipe I tried).

If you are having trouble with the pancakes, try this recipe:(recipezaar recipe #106670). It's the one I have been using with the pan, and I've had no trouble with the pancakes using it.

It's very easy to use. Trick to flip the pancake: get one of those cute tiny mini spatula that is about the size of each pancake or even smaller so that it won't touch the adjacent one while flipping. Use it to lift the pancake slightly, then with help of a butter knife or spreader or little fork, flip it over...easy without problem. But the pattern shows well only one side of the pancakes, unless you use a batter that doesn't bubble too easily, then you sometimes could have a slight pattern on the other side after flipped.

Buy Nordic Ware Holiday Pancake Pan Now

When I received the pan and read the instructions, it said to bake it in the oven.Well, instead of the oven, I used it to cook on my electric range top and they came out perfectly. You do see the different images on the pancakes but be careful that the butter doesn't turn brown before you pour the batter into the mold otherwise it ruins the pictures because everything just looks brown on the pancakes.I give it 5 stars because it's a great pan to use and it makes the perfect size pancake every time.Cleaning it is a snap.

For best results I found that putting the batter in clockwise or counter-clockwise and flipping in same order produces a lovely golden result... We bought several styles and they were such hits that we ended up sending a couple home with our guests.Highly recommend.

I knew this would make the perfect gift for a family member that traditionally eats a pancake breakfast on Christmas morning. And it was! The big concern was the batter sticking to the pan but it was not a problem. GREAT GIFT! A great tradition. Thanks for making a quality product.

Nordic Ware 2 Burner Griddle 10-1/4-Inch by 17-1/2-Inch

Nordic Ware 2 Burner Griddle 10-1/4-Inch by 17-1/2-InchFirst of all I take the blame for trying to get a very inexpensive griddle. This griddle is appropriate for camping only & is not suitable for big weekend breakfasts at home. The griddle is quite lightweight (again, great for camping) but slides all over the top of my stove while maneuvering food. Flipping a pancake becomes a tricky activity especially because this griddle doesn't have a true handle to steady it.

The reviewer that said this gridle is "big" must be cooking for one person because I don't find that I can fit much more on it than I did with my 11x11" griddle pan that I was trying to replace. My plan was to be able to fix a breakfast for 2 adults and a toddler all at one time so we could all have a HOT breakfast together. Instead I find that I am still eating last because I still can't fit more than 5 small pancakes on the griddle at one time, let alone bacon or eggs.

I recommend this only if you're looking for a small and portable griddle for camping/RVing. If you are cooking at home for 2 or more people then invest a few more dollars for higher quality and a larger griddle size.

Bought this double griddle for our double burner coleman camp stove. It is a perfect fit. Large enough to cook sausage and eggs or pancakes at the sametime. Heats evenly, non stick, and light weight. We did however use non-stick cooking spray with it, I have learned from experience that nothing is completely non-stick. Clean up was a breeze. And store very well with our camping gear.

I really like this griddle.I bought one at a thrift store back in the early 90's and used it until this past year (2008) when it started to look scratched finally and the nonstick wasn't working as well.I think these products from NordicWare are still made in the USA which is very cool.I use this on the stovetop but most of the time I use it to bake everything you can imagine in the oven.Cookies too.I love it and hope this one lasts me another ten years!

This griddle is huge!I can make an entire enormous breakfast on it at once. One of my favorite things is making giant pancakes on it, two at a time. It's just plain big.

Want Nordic Ware 2 Burner Griddle 10-1/4-Inch by 17-1/2-Inch Discount?

This griddle is light weight and will barely cover 2 burners on a stove top. The previous reviewer who identified this as a camping griddle is accurate.

The heat was even and the food was cooked well. However, after the very first use the non-stick coating has begun to peel off at the edges of the pan. I will probably get another two-dozen or so uses out of it before it has to be recycled. Will shell out for a more expensive grill next time.

Tamago Pan #HM13

Tamago Pan #HM13Bought one of these to make the cutesy little rolled omelets (tamagoyaki) as seen in anime, and after much practice, they come out perfect. The pan is great, does exactly what it's supposed to do, just make sure to use adequate oil.

At first glance, this tamago pan looks great. It sucks! The wooden handle is loose, and will fall off after a few uses. Also, it looks like the surface is nonstick . . . it's not! The eggs I used stuck to this pan worse than a unseasoned cast iron skillet. I strongly advise not to purchase this product, as it is horribly put together. Even experienced tamago pan users will find difficulty with the wiggling handle and sticky cooking surface. It is everything it should not be. Don't buy!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.. or rather, one of them.. but after I decided to give this pan a try (seeing how divided the reviews are) I am back to tell you how I just finished throwing it in the trash.

If you want to get this pan clean after cooking something on the messier side, you can expect to spend longer washing it than the amount of time you spent cooking whatever it took to cake the thing, heheh.

I'm definitely not a pro at cooking, so if you think you may have the perfect way to coat the pan for non-stick, perhaps it's not such a bad purchase. It's a very unique article for the kitchen and the design is visually appealing too. That's about all that I can say in the pros department.

As for the cons.. well, despite the small size, it was still too big to use a small burner. This wasn't really a con, because I knew the pan was long though small. The real issue is that even after using an adequate or even exceeding amount of cooking oil to prepare the pan, the result was always the same-my eggs and other ingredients remained caked on in a thin layer that is not removable during cooking.

My ingredients were eggs, bonito stock, salt, sugar, mirin and sake in the amounts appropriate for making a small enough omelette to fit in the pan. You can expect to cook about 3 large eggs comfortably but 4 will fit, though that's pushing it.

My once well-practiced Japanese-style omelettes (dashi maki tamago) became scrambled eggs.. They tasted great, but I did not buy this pan for scrambled eggs.. LOL?

I tried this pan 6 different times before deciding to toss it.

Because I live in the United States, a decently priced tamagoyaki pan is hard to come by, so I always have to borrow my friend's. Trying to get my own.. I feel that this was a very wasted investment. I hope to find another soon.

Choose wisely. You may just be able to salvage this one. I didn't bother to try it for other foods, honestly, but if you're going to cook something non-specific you probably don't need this unique pan to do so.

Good luck.

I saw some reviews that commented on the quality of this pan. I may not know a lot about high quality pans, but I really do like this one. The surface heats up quickly and very evenly. Cooking Tamagoyaki on this pan was very simple because of it.

Well, this pan is NOT as nonstick as I desired. It's smallish, and I had eggs that stuck when I scrambled some in it the first time.I groaned.

That said, now I love it.I bought it for omelets but I'm USING it for hashbrowns and burgers and chopped sirloin steaks. It fits 2 burger patties in perfectly, which is something I need occasionally. It makes hashbrowns LIKE A DREAM Nice little square patties that are on par with Waffle House's and cute burgers that look and are sized like Wendy's.When you cook anything with more oil, like the hashbrowns or burgers, clean up is easy.

So, I'm giving it a 4, because I am so happy with it and I'm finding it quite useful, even if I still feel like I need a good Japanese omelet pan.

If you've bought one and aren't happy with it, try it with hashbrowns and you might feel better.

Bayou Classic 7470, Cast Iron Baking Pan, 20" x 3"

Bayou Classic 7470, Cast Iron Baking Pan, 20' x 3'You gotta love the party spirit of the Bayou Classic company. Rule #1 of their instructions warns thatit's for "sober adult operation ONLY!" You won't find that on a Cuisinart or Le Creuset pot! They also tell us how to season the pan with "solid vegetable shortening (Lard, Crisco or bacon drippings are best)". Maybe in the Bayou, vegetables are defined as things that aren't moving?

Cooking philosophy aside, everyone should find an excuse to buy this pan. It is massive and heavy, as all the reviewers have noted, and completely indestructible. Your great grand children will curse you for it because it's so large and hard to store.

My excuse was making sourdough baguettes using a version of the Jim Leahy no-knead bread recipe. I figured if it works to use a cast iron Dutch oven to capture the moisture from the dough, maybe I could do the same for baguettes in a pan like this if I covered it with aluminum foil or a sheet pan. So far I haven't got it right, but I'm having fun anyway. Maybe I should pay more attention to Rule #1...

This pan weighs a "ton" and will require extensive seasoning with crisco or "LARD"! Make sure you measure your oven width 'cause this puppy is wide. The finish is quite rough, so don't plan on pancakes till you've seasoned it many times. Instructions are vague at best, they mention NOT cooking"wet food" so I guess a cake or macs&cheese would present you with a cleaning/cussing situation. This is a definite "MAN PAN", meaning you better be in good shape cooking with it. We laughed like hell when we opened the box at it's size, almost returned it but did not. It's also a great conservation piece with fellow cooks. We'll eventually have it seasoned properly but it will take some time. Buy one, the price is right and will most likely still be in use after we leave this planet!!!

I use my grill A LOT, and when I saw this pan I had to have it to make chicken in!I knew it was going to be large when I ordered it, but when I got it I was surprised just how large it was.I can easily put three chickens in it (and depending on size I have squeezed 4 whole chickens into this!)It evenly disburses the heat so that the chickens can roast nicely over low heat for hours without me worrying about the bottoms of the burning.I have used it on the top rack of my grill (yes, it is a LARGE grill LOL) over high heat to make an awesome crusty bread, I have used it in my conventional oven to make huge pans of corn bread and it has lived up to my expectations every time I have used it.

The Cons: It is LARGE!This is also one of the pros of this pan and the specific reason I purchased it.

No lid I would have LOVED LOVED LOVED a huge domed lid I just wonder if anyone could have lifted it then!

Storage you really need to think about where you are going to store this pan because it is approximately the size of a half sheet cake pan.I actually ended up putting to large nails into a wall in my pantry and I hang it instead of trying to find room in my cabinets.

The Pros: It is LARGE!Easily cooks 3 whole chickens with room for all that nice hot air to circulate and make them deliciously browned.

It's cast iron!Built to last, this pan will be something my son and his family will want when I am gone and it will be just as wonderful then as it is now!

The best thing about cast iron is how evenly it cooks, how durable it is over high heat, and how easily it cleans up if you are thinking about getting this pan think no more, jump in and do it!You'll love it!

I got this as a roasting pan and could not be happier with it. It is huge. It is big enough to roast anything that you'd ever want to roast in your oven, from a whole turkey to a leg of lamb, or whatever. If you're cooking for a crowd, this is a great pan for cooking multiple roasts at once. Given that it is cast iron, you'll probably have it forever, and so will your grandkids. Because it is so huge, it might not get used quite as frequently as other pans, but still great to have on hand when you need it.

Vollrath Carbon Steel 12 1/2" Fry Pan

Vollrath Carbon Steel 12 1/2' Fry PanI just bought this pan and started using it after it was seasoned. There is one issue that is bugging me about that pan.The bottom has a convex shape instead of a flat or even concave like a Chinese Wok.The net result is that the oil flows to the edge of the pan, so I find that I had use more oil to cover the pan.

Does anyone know if the DeBuyer pan have the same physical characteristic as far as the pan bottom goes? The pan is still useable, but I have to use a little more oil than I like.

My wife and I have become grossed out with peeling non-stick pans and tired of replacing them every year or two. I love iron frying pans (I buy antique ones on Ebay which are far better than any you can get new) but you can't saute or toss in a heavy iron pan. I bought this as an experiment gone well. The bottom is dead flat and the curved sides work well. It has seasoned nicely and is non-stick in the way a properly cared for iron pan is. I use it all the time. The handle is very long which is good for tossing and keeping your hand away from the hot part but the long handle makes it hard to fit in small storage areas. I expect it to last a lifetime just like the iron pans. I scrub it out with hot water and a plastic scrubber (no soap), dry it and keep a film of oil on it so it doesn't rust.

If you want a carbon steel fry pan, this is an excellent option. It's reasonably inexpensive, quite solid, and works well on the range and baked or broiled in the oven. This is a standard French/professional kitchen item that requires seasoning and good cleaning. But nothing stands up to high temperature cooking as well as these.

Bayou Classic 7403, 3-Piece Cast Iron Skillet Set, 6", 8", 10"

Bayou Classic 7403, 3-Piece Cast Iron Skillet Set, 6', 8', 10'Great set of 3 iron skillets for the price. All were well seasoned and made of heavy iron.I made excellant corn bread in these skillets and other fried foods as well and had no problems with food burning, cooking unevenly or sticking problems as long as you use proper steps to prevent food from sticking. The skillets arrived in great condition and on time it was a good purchase from amazon.

You can easily get these from any Walmart but I liked the name Bayou and these pans are great. When I'm done cooking I quickly clean them while still hot and quickly spray canned Olive Oil on the cooking surface and this keeps them ready to go time after time..

Even heat distribution and I notice I only need to turn heat on half as high to get the same temperatures that the thinner teflon pans require. These will last a lifetime and with a faint mist of aerosol Olive Oil they shine nice and black and stay ready to go.

Kinetic Stainless Steel Cookware Sets

Kinetic Kitchen Basics Series Stainless Steel 7-Piece Cookware SetI order these pots about 2 year ago and was actually upset when I had to give them away when I moved. When I finally moved to a new apartment and needed to stock my kitchen I immediately searched for these pots and pans. I love cooking with stainless steel and these are a great buy if you don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money. The handles are sturdy, the set isn't too heavy, and they clean very easily. Also, I love that they come with the set of stainless steel utensils(which are hard to find and usually very expensive if you try to buy them separately). Very happy with this purchase.

I replaced all the old worn out pots and pans in my kitchen with this set. I think it is well worth the asking price. The only thing I think could be improved upon is the handles could be a no heat transfer handle. I need to use the hot pad to handle them. They wash nice and cook well. And they look nice all pretty in my kitchen. :o)

I love this set of pots and pans! They are the perfect weight and size and are very well made. The set is made from 18/10 stainless steel with sandwiched aluminum bottoms for fast, even heating. The heavy-gauge knobs and handles are permanently welded for durability. The set came exactly as described. A lot of other sets come with an 8 quart dutch oven. That's too large for me. The 5.5 quart dutch oven is the perfect size for cooking and storing in the cabinet. The food does not stick to the inside of this cookware and the pots and pans clean easily. This set has the perfect size pans (1 qt, 2 qt and 3 qt) and stacks beautifully in my kitchen cabinet. I also love the see through lids so you can monitor the heat level while cooking. The handles and knobs do not overheat when cooking. The other brands come with non-stick frying pans. I was looking for a cookware set without non-stick pots or frying pans. I researched all the other brands farberware, calphalon, cuisinart, etc and this is the best cookware set by far. This would be especially good for some-one just starting out as it has everything you need. I'm very happy with this set!

Ceramic Marble Coated Non Stick Cast Aluminium Fry Pan with Lid, 20 cm (8 inches)

Ceramic Marble Coated Non Stick Cast Aluminium Fry Pan with Lid, 20 cmI love these pans!I saw the StoneDine infomercials and wanted to replace my aging teflon set.But I didn't want to pay over a hundred bucks for an 11-inch frying pan.Last November, I found the 12-inch Marble Ware frying pan on Amazon for just under $39.The pan amazed me.It can handle high heat, doesn't stain, and cleans up ridiculously easy.At less than half the price of the StoneDine equivalent, this was a no-brainer!

I did read one bad review about the chemical DEHP being in the non-stick coating, but I have not been able to verify the claims made by the reviewer, including the fact that she said there was a warning label on the pan stating that the nonstick coating contains DEHP and to "use at your own risk."Trust me, I really tried. The reason I'm replacing my teflon is that they leech highly toxic gases when more than medium heat is applied to them. The EPA has a scheduled ban on teflon in cookware to begin in 2015, unless the industry can figure out a way to keep it from breaking down under heat.Ceramic coated cookware appears to be the post-teflon future.

Because of my experience with the 11-incher, I purchased the 8-inch omelette pan and the 13-inch wok. They appear tohave a slightly different finish and design, but they are essentially identical in performance. My 11-incher has the trademark "Joy Cook" on the bottom and a completely black handle. The other pans have "KW" on the bottom and a chrome insert on the handle.Although I purchased them all through Amazon, my 11-incher (Joy Cook)was from M.V. Trading Company, and all the others(KW)were from SmartDeals411.

I'm not a professional cook.I'm just a single guy that wants stuff that works well and is easily maintained.Unlike most ceramic coated cookware, these are completely coated, inside and out, making clean up easier than any other pan I have ever used.

I have been using this skillet for a couple of weeks now. Everything that I have cooked in this pan has caused sticking problems in my well seasoned cast iron, none of it has even come close to sticking in this skillet. I would recommend this skillet to anyone in need of a good nonstick pan.

I have owned several non-stick skillets and frying pans previously, but none of them came close to the quality of this ceramic marble coated non-stick cast aluminium pan. After using it for a couple of weeks I returned to Amazon.com and bought the pot version of the pan made by the same Korean manufacturer. I have seen the "As Seen on the TV" ceramic skillets but they are not made with the same layers of materials that make this skillet tough, truly non-stick, and a breeze to clean. Also, I prefer to buy from Amazon.com because you know exactly how much the item costs, including shipping charge, and the purchase is protected by Amazon.com, should something go wrong. I recommend this skillet for anyone looking for a true non-stick, tough, and easy to clean cookware.
