Nordic Ware Superior Steel 12 Inch High-Sided Skillet

Nordic Ware Superior Steel 12 Inch High-Sided SkilletNordic Ware Cookware is the best cookware I've ever owned! Would definitely buy this product again and again! Highly recommend!

We ordered it from Amazon.com directly as having 1 or 3 unpleasant experiences with other vendors while buying some items. The skillet is ok for daily use. It produce nice and tasty food. I cooked Indonesian style seafood spicy fried rice, fried noodle, grand ma style pan fried batter coated chicken in it. It searing chicken breast nicely right before I put them in the oven. My only concern, it doesn't produce heat evenly so I have to watch any food situated in the middle. I tried all my gas stove burners but still the same. I don't think my stove is the problem as my other pans and pots from All-Clad and American Kitchen/Regalware we bought from Amazon.com turned out just fine. This is the reason why I gave you 3 stars.

It is OK daily use skillet for price and end result. I don't find any problem cleaning it but the bottom scratch easily with the kind of gas stove typically installed in Singapore. What I like the most from this pan as it is made in the USA. Yes, I'm in a mission avoiding items made in China. Not that I dislike China but their products most of the time produce odors/smelly, hardly long lasting and not meeting health standard.

April 2012 Updated = The pan already broken many months ago. The nonstick come of already. I won't buy this pan anymore. Yes, we prefer not to claim what so ever as we are sure pretty hassle. We wish American product has certain quality. Please, improve Nordic Ware as we love American product.

Old Mountain 7-3/4-Inch-by-5-1/2-Inch Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Muffin Pan

Old Mountain 7-3/4-Inch-by-5-1/2-Inch Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Muffin PanI just picked up a pair of these Old Mountain cast iron muffin pans locally so I didn't get surprised by the cup size. The cup size is noticeably smaller than a standard muffin pan, but not nearly as small as mini-muffin cups.Although the manufacturer and the seller should be warning buyers about anything that is not quite standard, I thought the cup size would be perfect for anyone who wants to cut down on the "sweet" portions for themselves and or their family.

Aesthetically they're attractive and nicely finished, without the sharp edges and burrs, which I have had the displeasure of encountering on other inexpensive iron cookware. For a pan this heavy, a smoothe finish is important so you don't get cuts and scrapes while washing.

These are compact with no extra surfaces jutting out, but not a problem for me.I have medium sized male hands and I can confortably lift this pan by the ends with the hole using 2 fingers of each hand on the bottoms of the flanges and my thumbs on the tops. The pan would have to be cool of course. For a hot pan I would need 2 oven mitts, cupping both hands on opposite sides or ends of the pan. This compactness should almost guarantee that at least 1 of these would fit in even a small toaster oven, a bonus in the summer when you don't want to fire up the big oven. The compactness would also increase your storage options.A good value as listed here on Amazon for $13.00, and if you need a muffin pan, I strongly recommend it.

Nothing cooks better than cast iron. However, the pan is much smaller than I thought. This is for 6 mini muffins.

Great muffin pan except for the fact that it only makes mini muffins. I should have read the dimensions more carefully!!

These are great.I got two and have used them to make muffins a few times.I had no problem with them sticking, and they clean easily. They are slightly smaller than normal muffin cups, but are larger than minis.

Love it.

I bought 3 of these pans and they cook my corn muffins perfectly. The size is designed to provide you with a golden crust on the outside and a moist cake in the inside. If the size was increased (DEPTH OR WIDTH)by the time you got a golden crust on the outside, the center of the muffin would still be raw. This is why they made them this size.It was enginneered that way. These pans stack very well and take little space in my cupboard.Make sure you oil them first, then preheat them in the oven before you pour your batter in.

Cuisinox Elite 3.7 Quart Covered Chef's Pan

Cuisinox Elite 3.7 Quart Covered Chef's PanI have been cooking with this pan since I received it.It performs very well. It is in compact size with very nice capacity. And if you put a rack in the pan, you can use it to steam lots of stuff, thanks to the dome lid.Overall, I like this pan.

I do wish the handle could be a bit wider and thicker, so it would be much easier to hold when I need to pour things out.Although the handle stays cool, the lid gets hot quicklier than I expected. Also the pan came with very heavy machinery grease smell.I had to clean it really well before the first use.

Ecolution Symphony Eco-Friendly Fry Pans

Ecolution Symphony 9.5 Inch Fry Pan, SlateSymphony Ecolution Nonstick Gourmet Cookware Review

About a month ago I moved cross-country and went from a large kitchen to a pullman kitchen. I sold all of my cookware consisting of about 15 pots and pans comprised of Calphalon One Nonstick, Allclad, Copco, etc. I saw this nonstick set and purchased it because it utilizes Hydrolon®, an exclusive, eco-friendly, water-based solvent that replaces toxic PFOA solvents. I wasn't sure how good the nonstick would be, but it works great on my electric glass top range. I gave it my usual fried egg test and it slid right out of the pan without any oils. I then heated up the pan and put in a slice of swiss cheese for 5 minutes. It came out without leaving a mark. Having previously used top of the line nonstick cookware, this has proven to be of equal or better quality for 1/2 the price. Also, the glass lids have a small vent hole to permit steam venting so you can view what you are cooking. I am very pleased with my purchase. Also, the individual bags they use for packing is great for separating the pans when I put them on top of each other in the cupboard so the nonstick is protected. Nice touch. I have now added the 11 inch frypan to the set. I also like the fact that the cookware is induction compatible should I get an induction burner in the future. Oven safe to 350 degrees.

Fitz-All Set of 2 Replacement Pot Knobs with Finger Guards

Fitz-All Set of 2 Replacement Pot Knobs with Finger GuardsThe knobs are handy replacements for broken knobs not available from the manufacturer.I ordered the item to repair a broken knob on a slow cooker.

Glad there were two in the pack.First problem was the supplied screws were too short to use on the cover.I purchased longer stainless steel screws at a local hardware store.I overtightened the first one and cracked the heat shield.Fortunately there was another in the package to use.

I used the cover only once so far and the knob worked o/k but got loose.I think I'll add a lock washer to eliminate that problem.

All in all glad this product is available to replace original knobs otherwise the appliance would be unusable.

I broke the handle on my crock pot and a replacements lid was MUCH more expensive than these replacement knobs.I was able to replace it myself.Super easy and great fit.

These are total trash. The plastic is so soft that when you tighten the supplied screw, the threads just pull out. Imagine what the performance would be like on a hot pot top.

BergHOFF Earthchef Premium Copper Clad 10-Piece Cookware Set

BergHOFF Earthchef Premium Copper Clad 10-Piece Cookware SetThis cookware was stated to be great for glass top stoves and " would never warp " ...unfortunately mine came slightly warped right out of the box. I called customer service and they were polite, and when asked if they were supposed to be perfectly flat he said yes and to return them if they werent. I opted for a refund and not a replacement. The sides of the stock pot are very thin as well as the other pans walls. They did boil water fairly quickly. Also, one reason I chose this set is because BergHoff is a Belgium company and I was under the impression that these were made in Belgium. When asked, the customer service representative could only say that they had plants all over the world and had no way of knowing where they were made. I'm trying not to buy stuff made in China and he said that it was possible they could have been made there. There was no indication where they were made either on the pans themselves or the box. The bottom of the pan did say BergHoff Belgium, but not made in Belgium. They were not packaged very well and I could hear pans rattling, although none were damaged. Being this is the first review of this set I feel bad giving such a negative impression, but its my honest assessment of this product and I feel that one of the strengths of amazon is the reviews, I find them to be very helpful.

()Once upon a time, I was a very serious cook. There was nothing I wouldn't tackle in my home kitchen.Over the years, my cooking has become more utilitarian, with only occasional flights of creative fantasy. And with limited disposable income, I have to admit that I never have the best culinary tools on hand.I recently upgraded my pots and pans to the BergHOFF Earthchef Premium Copper Clad 10-Piece Cookware Set, and I have to tell you, it's been a real eye-opener!

Here is what I mean by that: just by having better cooking implements, I get a noticeably improved end product. This is especially evident with, for instance, the sauté pans. These pans conduct heat better and more evenly than my old, cheap pans.Fish fillets and potstickers come out with a pleasing crispness that had been lacking or difficult to achieve in the past, and more evenly browned. This sort of difference is more difficult to quantify with a pasta pot, but who's to say the water isn't coming to a boil faster?I should really do an experiment to test this.)

These are not non-stick pans, so you'll have to use a little fat or Pam while cooking certain foods, but I have not had notable difficulty with foods sticking when they shouldn't.

My final comment is the most superficial, but it's worth noting how nice these pots and pans look in my kitchen! It's lovely to have a full matching set, and they're attractive enough that I feel I can serve in them. The ten pieces that make up this set are well-chosen.They may not fill every single culinary need that I have, but they're good for the vast majority of them.I have to admit that I've never cooked with the very finest/most expensive pots and pans on the market, so I can't compare, but the Earthchef set is such a radical improvement over what I had been using that I could not be more delighted!

()Okay so a little background on me... I learned to cook in a steakhouse kitchen and I am accustomed to putting my cookware through absolute hell in order to get food turned out quickly.I've been extremely disappointed in a number of prominent brands because of their ability to stand up to high-heat, multi-condition cooking.I spend at least 20 hours a week in the kitchen at my house so I can be somewhat picky about my cookware.

I received this pan set as part of the Amazon Vine program and after seeing some of the initial reviews, I was ready to be disappointed.I can tell you after almost a month of using this set in every condition I could think of, this is a 5-star product.I have broiled with it, sautéed, cooked down tomato stock, deep fried, pan fried, and straight up baked with it.I've been nothing but thoroughly impressed. This is not "non-stick" cookware but I have yet to burn anything to it.Clean up has been amazing and as long as you follow the maintenance instructions included in the package you won't have any problems.Again though this is not a "non-stick" set; in all honesty, this set couldn't perform half as well as it does if it were.We have not yet had to soak any of the pans to get food off and we clean them with a nylon bristle brush (I have had more issues cleaning residue out of Teflon coated pans).

I really love the stock pan that it comes with and I had no problems with warping or staining after using to cook down several bushels of tomatoes over the course of two days (the pot was on heat for over 8 hours each time).I love being able to through the pans cover and all into the broiler to finish what I'm cooking or to hold it warm (again no problems with warping even in using the pans to broil in).I love being able to use my metal utensils instead of having to use flimsy nylon spatulas, etc.I've yet to scratch or mar any of my pans yet.

In my opinion this is an intermediate set of cookware for people used to cooking on stainless steel. If you rely heavily on non-stick cookware, it's going to take some getting used to.My only issue with using the pans (and this was more of a learning curve on my part) is that the pans hold heat really well.It takes some forethought when removing the pan from heat as it has a tendency to still cook for a few minutes after turning the burner off.If you want something that can hold up to heat and that will allow you to maintain a large degree of versatility in how you cook, go with this set.I have been shamelessly touting it to all my friends since I got it.

()If you read Amazon's description, you'd think that this is a sort of organic or green non-stick cookware. But I think it's inadvertantly misleading because as I understand it, the description for this cookware covers a number of different products in BergHoff's "EarthChef" line, some of which have non-stick coatings. In fact, you can see the non-stick coating in the photos, but these appear to me to be regular stainless cookware and not non-stick cookware.

I sent an e-mail to BergHoff over a week ago to ask where these pans are made and I also asked what the thickness of the stainless was.To date I have not received a reply. Not good.

So what's the quality of the pans like?Frankly, I think it's just so-so.Most of my pans are All-Clad, Calphalon or Meyer.Generally, I think these pans are much lower quality.Obviously, you'd expect them to be inferior to All-Clad and the like, but even if you can get it out of your head that I even mentioned All-Clad, I think these are just ok pans and pots. Not great, not bad.

The material used seems thin. Also, I experienced more discoloration than what I was used to after only my first use. There was also a clear sticker over the copper disc on the bottom and I didn't see this.So it melted all over my burner and then baked on, making for a messy clean up.

This cookware is "copper clad" and while it took longer to heat than I might have expected, it did retain heat well. Not sure what make this cookware so Earthy, as they seem like regular old stainless pots and pans to me.

The cookware arrived packaged well and I did not notice any warping, as did another reviewer.

As of this writing, this set is a somewhere under $200 with free shipping. So that strikes me as being a reasonable deal for someone looking for a cookware set.So I suppose that I would generally recommend it, but you get what you pay for. It's a decent set, but not a great one, in my view.I'm disappointed that BergHoff doesn't promptly respond to their e-mails too.Hopefully, my experience was the exception and not the rule.

I've been using these pans for about 3 months. The stainless steel is naturally non-stick.Although not to the same degree as Teflon, food washes off with minor elbow grease and a little warm soap.Which is okay with me since I'm trying to remove carcinogens from the kitchen.I've had to adjust my cooking due to the fact that the copper core heats up quickly and retains heat well. These pans are so good, I've realized just how crappy the stove is.Handles stay cool, and the classic design is a definite plus.I was also looking specifically for a set with a saucier (deep skillet), which is difficult to come by.Try a roux in this and you'll never go back to a saucepan. My killer mac and cheese sauce cooks up in 20 minutes now, versus the former hour! And the two-handle design and stove-friendly construction means this set is highly flexible. Can't recommend these any higher, looking forward to having these for years to come.

2 Corning Visions Vision Ware / Visionware Amber 7 inch & 10 inch Frying Pan / Skillet Set

2 Corning Visions Vision Ware / Visionware Amber 7 inch & 10 inch Frying Pan / Skillet SetI prefer a non-toxic pan for cooking which is why I purchased this glass cookware.

For cooking vegetables and items that don't stick really badly, the Visionware has been great. I use the 10" pan mainly to sautee or steam vegetables and to fry bacon and I use the 7" to scramble or fry eggs.

I tend to batch cook, so I have several of each (I picked them up along the way from eBay).

They clean up nicely when you soak them and scrub them out with a plastic scrubber. I then place them in the dishwasher for a thorough cleaning.

I have used Visionware for about 22 years, including this frying pan.

These frying pans have never failed or exploded on me.

However, there have been some complaints about exploding Visionware (Google is your friend).

Some incidents can be attributed to thermal shock such as running cool water in a hot pot, or placing the hot item on a cool surface, or putting the cookware on a heat source with no water in it.

Also, if you have chipped, cracked, or scratched cookware, it is recommended that you discard it.

I would recommend carefully checking your cookware and discarding it if it is damaged.

You will want to avoid scratching it with metal utensils.

Corning no longer manufactures this product.

I have used visions vision ware for years.Pieces got broken and I thought that was the end of my set but yeah! found it on Amazon!

Cuisinart TPC22-24NSP MultiClad Pro Stainless Nonstick 10-Inch SkilletWow, what a great pan! It is very well made with a beautiful, glossy stainless exterior and a perfect teflon interior. The handle is a sexy, polished stainless casting that feels great and is riveted firmly to the body.

This pan heats very evenly and is like magic for a two-egg omlette. I have produced only moist and tender omlettes with this pan. I've used many omlette pans including a stainless All Clad and some non-stick commercial pans and this one...is almost like magic. I thought I was jaded and could not be suprised what a delight.

This is a real bargain. Buy and use this beauty with confidence.

These pans are so wonderful for cooking with, you really need two.

I started with one, but I used it so much, I kept pulling it out of the dishwasher.

I bought a second one at the clearance price.

I was just thrilled there were still some left.

I also recomend you buy the Farberware 10" lid sold on Amazon.

Either the glass or the stainless one will fit this pan.

Having recently started doing the Atkins diet, breakfasts in our house now usually involve cooking eggs of some type. Our old pans started sticking (a MAJOR problem for me), so I went looking for the ultimate skillet.

My criteria?A pan that would have outstanding non-stick properties, have solid feel, conduct heat evenly and well, would clean up easily, and if it looked good, so much the better.Fully expecting to pay dearly for an All Clad-type pan when I started looking, was pleasantly surprised to find this Cuisinart pan available for < $$$.I took a chance and I'm VERY glad I did!

The non-stick surface works wonders, heat conduction is even and efficient, the pan is not heavy and not light. It's got excellent balance... just feels right in my hands and on the stove. The handle feels terrific and stays cool. Have been using this pan at least daily for the past 5 weeks. It's performed flawlessly. As a plus, it looks good and cleans up easily.

The sides have a more abrupt taper than some pans, but it's not a concern... just something others should be aware of when shopping.

The size is perfect for one to two person dishes.

Overall, this pan has exceeded all of my expectations. It's a useful kitchen tool that works the way it's suppopsed to.Very highly recommended!

Want Cuisinart TPC22-24NSP MultiClad Pro Stainless Nonstick 10-Inch Skillet Discount?

This is the best non-stick skillet I've owned, period. I've purchased others and tossed them out after only a few months. I never use any sprays or oils with this skillet and everything browns evenly. Now, keep in mind this isn't the pan for deep frying, but it's perfect for browning breakfast foods and other items that do not require extra fat or oil. Non-stick pans should never visit the dishwasher... hand wash and dry. Easy! Always start the pan on medium heat because high heat isn't necessary and may damage the non-stick surface. The pan is ready to cook in only a couple of minutes.

Hamilton Beach Nonstick Contempo Skillets

Hamilton Beach 92101 Nonstick Contempo 10 Inch Skillet, BlackAfter one time using this skillet on low heat, it turned dark brown. Handle wiggles. I find things stuck to it all the time.

Allow me to preface my review by saying that while I enjoy cooking, I am by no means a professional chef nor am I an avid cooking enthusiast. As such, my review score is based on the expectations of a "layman" who cooks for loved ones and friends. I am not comparing this skillet to premium cookware with a high price tag.

I mainly use this skillet for breakfast food such as eggs or ham and dinners consisting of chicken, pork, vegetables or seafood. My skillet appears to heat evenly as I have not detected any "hot spots". I've had consistent results with a variety of foods and so I am pleased with this skillet. A skillet is just a tool and so the tastiness of food is a result of the cook's skill. That said, I can report that I have had dishes ruined by flaws in other skillets but I have never had that problem with this one.

I bought this skillet for under $6 during one of Amazon's infamous price fluctuations and it is easy to say how great it is with such a cheap price. The current price is about $20 and even then I'd say the skillet is worth it. If the price goes much higher than that I'd suggest that you consider other skillets.

Good size larger skillet for the price. Only problem I have found is the handle (even with the coating on it) gets a bit hot. I use this skillet daily and so far the nonstick coating has held up. No flaking or scratches. I use it on a gas stove over medium heat and it seems to heat up pretty evenly. I would buy this skillet again.

The pan looks nice, the box it high quality and makes you feel liek you bought a good product. Then I opened it and pulled it out and the handle was all wobbly right out of the box. Not sure what happened there, but it might explain why a good brand name product was so cheap. Not sure if returning it is worth it considering how much shipping costs since the pan it so heavy, but I hate the wobbly handle. It probably wont be long until it breaks off completely.

Bayou Classics Cast Iron Covered Skillet - 3 qt.

Bayou Classic 7440 3-Quart Deep Cast Iron Skillet with LidThey don't make cast-iron like they used to, but this skillet is great. It comes unseasoned, but that's easily remedied.First, wash the new skillet with soap and water to remove the packing wax. Then buy a small tub of pure lard (don't use thin oil), wipe it all over the inside and outside of the skillet (except for the very bottom), put it on a cookie sheet right-side-up and bake it at 200 degrees for 3 hours (the lower temp for a longer time allows it to penetrate better).Wipe out the excess oil, then when completely cool, wipe it again, and you're done!I store my oil in it and just scrape the bottom clean before each use (to remove old batter pieces that will burn).I have one deep skillet for frying fish and another for chicken and pork steaks.Remember to never use soap on cast iron or it will rust and you'll have to season it all over again -use your stove heat to kill the germs. There are care instructions included with the skillet.

We purchased this and use it daily in the kitchen and on the grill!!

The only caution I would offer is: This is NOT a pre-seasoned pan!!You will have to season it yourself.I didn't realize this when i purchased this skillet.I enjoyed the process of seasoning it, so i didn't mind, but it caught me off guard.

I bought these products primarily to cook eggs. I got tired of teflon pans that lasted a month. I admit these skillets aren't as non-stick as brand new teflon. Still, using olive oil coats the pan sufficiently to keep the eggs from adhering to the bottom. I also like the heavy gauge stainless steel, which heats the pan evenly.

3 Piece 10'' Ceramic Skillet with Cover & Handle Pot Holder

3 Piece 10'' Ceramic Skillet with Cover & Handle Pot HolderMy main purpose of purchasing this skillet was for the sake of health (Ceramic contains no leaking materials).

This fulfills that purpose, and it maintains heat very well to boot.

It may be a tad bit more expensive than what I can buy though.

Oh, and this skillet sticks easy, make sure to keep the heat low or you'll have a small burn on the bottom (THERE'S NO WAY IT IS NON-STICK)... If you're looking for a non-stick solution, keep looking.

I believe it does protect you from having metals leak into your food but doesn't do any good because pots are VERY fragile.they crack very easily and mercola does not take them back.i've had 3 crack in less than six months.Super disapointed.

I have 4 pieces of the xtrema cookware minus this 10" skillet which I am about to purchase. I have to say that I absolutely love love love this cookware. It does takes a tad bit longer to heat up, but once it does it really holds the heat well unlike any other pan I've used.It is more fragile then a regular pan if you drop it, but that has never been an issue for me. I'm just a bit more careful when handling.

It is totally worth it for me even with it being more fragile and taking longer to heat up.It's really not that much longer, and I am a busy person on a tight schedule. And of course I love that there are no nasty chemicals leaching into my food.

The other great thing is the cleaning. You can't scratch it.So you can use metal scrubbers, the rough side of the sponge and whatnot to clean it and it doesn't scratch.

You do need some oil/butter so certain foods (eggs) don't stick. But again, so worth it.And oil/fats are very good for you anyway...unlike the whole low-fat craze would have you to believe.

So all and all for me the Xtrema cookware is fantastic and well worth it.Even with things that people may see as negatives...i love the cookware so much that it really doesn't matter to me and you get used to it.

First off I agree with Mercola's return policies, you are better off purchasing from amazon etc. he's just very picky with what he takes back and is often marked up$, I did get a replacement pot because the lid was off/poor fitting as ceramic has natural imperfections and I had to send photos and it was a hassle-they didn't just 'believe me,' etc. But they did send me a whole new pot, not just the lid which was cool. Just an FYI, good or bad for his sake.

I got his set of these pans/pots with the tea kettle and cups/silicon lids a couple of years ago mainly for the heavy metal concerns in food as they all leach except maybe Saladmaster which is about 5 grand, and for the fact these pots act like convection ovens once they reach temperature in the oven, cooking more evenly (I can't speak for gas ovens but I've had fine luck on my electric stove?) and food is more flavorful. I use mine for everything I can and what you would normally (rice is fantastic) and I don't think they stick that bad if at all mostly (if you don't let stuff cook too long and don't watch it?) but I'm not obsessive about working a little harder to clean pots after cooking as I have some tricks with them I've found.

I cook with butter or coconut oil (the two best things:)and for the most part you can get away with over medium eggs without them breaking if you are meticulous but..who cares? most other things won't be like teflon obviously but I did this for health and going more to the old ways of cooking, but I'd rather live without heavy metals causing health concerns (i.e. even heart disease links) rather than food sticking? Take your pick. After I cook meals and dump the food out, I right away put water in the warm pot or pan to cover the bottom, and let it cool down while cooking all the remainder sticking food off. That small step cooks the food right off, then I just put in the sink and scrub off easily as normal, in fact I just use a kitchen scraper normally and have no problems with having to use muscle to get stuff off, hardly ever.

I love mine and think they cook great and the food has more taste. I agree you have to be very careful with banging around like you would using any pottery?(I have a ceramic sink so I have to be extra careful as I did get a chip in a pan and it unfortunately did cause a crack that spread). If you want to be healthy, they weren't a bad buy as they can be heated up to I think extremes without problems which is a plus. I just cook pancakes, when I eat them, rarely in my teflon as a treat, but for nothing else. Hope that helps. If you don't want metal cookware, I think this is a good choice and overall mine have held up very well.

I wanted to get away from non-stick surfaces seeing has how they fumigate your foods with noxious chemicals. After reading the reviews both pro & con on this product I decided to give it a try and I'm VERY satisfied! If you put in a tea spoon of virgin coconut oil to cook with, this pan cooks just as good as any non-stick surface I've used, and cleans up just as fast. I highly recommend this product!

Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer

Presto 05420 FryDaddy Electric Deep FryerI've had one of these little fryer appliances since they first became popular in the seventies. The current model is the second one I've had, being larger than the original model that came out.

For someone not needing to fry enormous amounts at one time, this little machine is ideal. It requires only a very small amount of vegetable oil.I've used it to fry chicken wings, quickly, to do french fries and onion rings, to do other smaller chicken parts, and it works beautifully. There is no thermostat; you just plug it in, wait 10 minutes, and the temp is 375.Having such a small amount of grease, it recovers heat more quickly than an electric skillet.

When you are through, if you plan to reuse the grease you can simply let the machine cool, snap the plastic top on, the put the whole thing in the fridge.I don't fry that often, and when I do, I tend to fry a lot, so usually I just discard the oil.Such a small amount is used (usually no more than 3 cups starting out) that I don't feel bad about discarding the oil.

The sides on this appliance are quite high, and splatter around the machine has never been a problem.I used common sense, though, when I fry, whether it's here or on the stove.

I'm sure the all-enclosed auto-fryers that are out on the market are nice, and if I fried a lot I'd probably get one. However, I only fry once or twice a month, and for that, this little machine is perfect.I'd recommend one to anyone--durable, simple, and does exactly what it's designed for!

After spending more money on 2 faulty deep fryers (Rival is hit-or-miss for quality), I've finally settled on this little beauty.

Pros:

1.) Cheap and simple, a very compact and minimalist package overall. It is nothing more than a steel bucket with a heating element underneath.

2.) Fries at 350 degrees, 25 short of "ideal" but safe for cooking with lard and lower smoke point oil. Try lard if you never have, you can still get it in supermarkets.

3.) Milled steel bucket, cast aluminum base. Inside has a permanent synthetic non-stick surface. Clean up and changing oil is simple.

Cons:

1.) This fryer isn't for families with young children or dumb people. Hot oil is always dangerous to work around and this unit is a STEEL BUCKET FULL OF OIL. The outside is hot. The inside is hot. It's hot.

2.) Doesn't have a lid to stop the occasional spatter.

3.) The bottom and healing element are shielded, but it will still warm up your synthetic countertop. I have mine on an old wooden cutting board to avoid warping the plastic.

I fry things about 1-2 times a week, and I liked my fried things to be very crispy yet not laden with oil. I wanted something that would truly get to a hotter frying temperature, to make my frying quicker and more "healthful"...(healthy frying....is that an oxymoron or what?)Because I don't fry THAT often, I just needed something simple.

I like this fryer because the heat-up time is very quick, and there is much less splatter then if you were frying in a pot. When I fry, I usually do your typical fried foods: fries, onion rings, wontons, etc.I have not tried to do anything else in it yet.

If the oil is fairly clean after I use it, I will put it in the refridgerator, but not keep more than a week. This is a very simple fryer. If you are a more heavy-duty fryer, then you might want to look into a fancier one.The exterior is not cool-touch, and there is no basket. If you only do small batches of things, and don't really fry that much, or even if you do, then this will be a great fryer for you.

This machine is really easy to use...I fried dough to make funnel cake and donuts, and it was simple. All you have to do is put in your oil, heat it up, and add the dough. The number of things you can fry is endless. My personal favorites are the funnel cake, chicken tenders, and french fries.Depending on what you are making, cooking time can vary from mere minutes to a half hour.Experiment, create your own recipes, it's easy.

One word of advice is to make sure to clean the fryer and change the oil regularly.Nothing is worse than frying with old oil.Keep the fryer very clean!Enjoy!

For years I've avoided making my own fried foods, as I had no luck frying in pans or my wok.My husband suggested a FryDaddy, remembering their commercials from the 1970s.We've had it for over a month and have used it several times, and it's been terrific. We've used it for shrimp and tempura thus far. It's nice to free up a burner on the stove by using this countertop item.

Browning is kind of tricky at first, because this gadget fries really quickly, faster than their instruction guide indicates.Fried shrimp for po' boys took 2 minutes at the most to get brown.Once I scooped out a couple batches of shrimp the oil level went down a bit, and the temperature increased, nearly burning next batch.I recommend adding more oil to the fill line if this happens. Also, the oil will splatter, so I use a splatter screen over the top to prevent a big mess.

It's not the easiest to clean and the cord is inconvenient. For safety reason, the FryDaddy has a short cord and recommends you not use an extension.Unless you're lucky enough to have an outlet right next to your table, this won't be a tabletop item sort of a bummer if you want to make tempura at the table!Second, this unit is a bit hard to clean. The cord has a habit of collecting batter that drips, and of course the FryDaddy cannot be immersed in water.I clean the unit by pouring hot water into it with a little dish soap to soak for a few minutes. After I pour it out, I wipe clean with paper towels and let dry.

Maverick Mesh BBQ Grill 12-Inch Fry Pan

Maverick Mesh BBQ Grill 12-Inch Fry PanQuite simply, this mesh basket works great for grilling veggies. The metal handle can get hot after awhile -I've surprised myself a few times by grabbing the handle too close to the basket. Otherwise, this basket grills conveniently. The shape of the basket makes it ideal for flipping veggies for more event grilling.

Great Sturdy Mesh BBQ Accessory

Love the removable handle and easy access to veggies when finished cooking

These are awesome, you can grill little things that have been to tough to control on a grill; I've grilled peas, corn kernals, fava beans, cloves of garlic

Another great thing about this is that the handle detaches (relatively painlessly) so you can close the grill and not have to worry about hot handles.

Also a whole lot more durable than I expected!

Paula Deen Traditional Porcelain 8-Inch and 9-1/2 Inch Skillets

Paula Deen Traditional Porcelain 8-Inch and 9-1/2 Inch Skillets, PurpleI got sucked in by the purple color. The pans aren't bad quality, but they aren't $40 quality. There are a lot of pretty nice heavy pans out there for $20 each. The non-stick coating is very non-stick and fairly durable, but I would consider it average for the price range of the pan. The handles are large, comfortable and of decent quality. The size of the pans is misleading. If I would buy these pans next to any other pan, they would be listed as 6" and 8". Where these pans really fall apart is the weight. The handle weighs more than the pan itself, so on a gas range (especially with the small pan) if you set it down wrong, it tips until the handle rests on the stove. I feel bad for the food celeb that sold her name for this product.

The pans are top notch. That said "The box was open, busted, retaped and looked like it came out of a crushed garbage truck".Such a shame but I decided to keep it because it was a miracle that the pans survived this packaging mess up.

The original order came very poorly packaged. In fact the larger skillet was visibly misshapen. However after being sent back, the replacement set was just fine. As for the product, it was a gift for my wife, and she just loves them.

Earth Pan 12 Skillet

Earth Pan Nonstick Cookware 12-Inch Skillet, Terra CottaEarth pans are the best pans I have ever used and even better is that they are a natural product that does not out gas into your food. I have been using Earth Pans for several months now and will never go back to other non-stick pans. I recommend using wooden or silicone utensils as with all nonstick pans. Most of the time I wash my pans in the dishwasher with no problem.

If you care about what you take into your body and you want non-stick thesepans are the way to go and the cost is affordable as well.

The skillet non stick coating works well.Clean up is simple. The skillet is however very thin on the bottom and without any sort of heat insulator/spreader.The very thin skillet transfers heat from the burner in localized areas of the skillet instead of heating the entire bottom. Tough to cook food without burning it.Reminds me of a cheap thin non stick skillet from a dollar store.Would not purchase again.

This worked very well at first but quickly lost its non stick properties, even though I followed the use and care instructions completely.Do not waste your money on this product. My tried and true cast iron skillet works much better for everyday use, and I use a conventional nonstick crepe pan for particularly delicate items.

At first I really liked this pan, especially the fact that it is healthier than teflon.

It worked well for about 2 months and then everything started to stick!. I use it almost every day, but did not abuse it. I took care of it as I would any Non-stick pan, it just did not hold up. Mine is not flaking as others have mentioned. I would not buy one again and would not recommend this product either.

Want Earth Pan 12 Skillet Discount?

I bought this cookware because of the less hazardous, POFA, PTFE-free nonstick coating and the Terra Cotta color. Unlike some, I've had no problems with anything sticking in four weeks of use. I wash this pan by hand. I use it on a gas stove with a metal type grill. I've noticed the enamel Terra Cotta coating starting to chip off. I would have thought this enamel would not flake off just by placing the pan on the gas stove grating. I'm planing on returning this pan if Amazon take it back.

Stainless Steel Heavy Duty 16" Lasagna / Roasting Pan with Rack

Stainless Steel Heavy Duty 16' Lasagna / Roasting Pan with RackI was looking for a roasting pan for our 10 lb. turkey. This one looked perfect (said it fit up to 16 lbs.). I've used it once already and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet. I roasted a chicken and it worked beautifully with easy clean up after a soaking. I cannot imagine a high-end roasting pan could do better.

This roasting pan is medium weight. Cooks evenly and at perfect temperature.

Comes with metal rack which is not that strong, would recommend.
