RSVP Universal Pot/Pan Lid Fits 7-12" Replacement Stainless Steel w/Glass Insert

RSVP Universal Pot/Pan Lid Fits 7-12' Replacement Stainless Steel w/Glass InsertThe reason I got this is because I have two saute pans that did not come with lids.Sometimes, I want to turn off the stove but cover the saute pan so that heat is trapped in.The manufacturer of this lid makes several claims suggesting the lid would work well for my purposes. They characterize it as a "universal lid."They say that the lid specifically fits "saute pans" that have a diameter of 7" to 12".They also claim the "inner ridges provide a customized fit."These claims are misleading. After trying out the lid, I now realize that most saute pans, including mine, have a handle that extends upward -higher than the plane of the rim.So when you attempt to rest a wide lid like this on the rim of the pan, the handle is in the way.It will never lie flat.So for my 8" saute pan, this lid is pretty much worthless. My 10" saute pan is big enough so that the lid ALMOST rests flat on the rim.So if you have a saute pan that is more than 10", it might work for you.

By the way, the lid is very flat. The "ridges" really don't seem to change anything in that regard. It's also thin and light. The manufacturer claims the lid is 18/10 stainless steel. That may be, but it is a thin 18/10 stainless steel.I have mostly KitchenAid and All-Clad cookware made of 18/8 or 18/10 stainless steel.I don't consider the stainless steel in this lid to be like my cookware. The quality here is more comparable to the inexpensive pots and pans that you find in department stores.Aside from that, the lid seems to be structurally sound.

October 2011 UPDATE: I've been using this lid occasionally for a couple of years now.I have to say it's held up well.I've gotten kind of used to it as an emergency lid for pots or pans with at least a 10" diameter.I now think it was worth the $20 I spent.Still not happy with the manufactuerer's representations, but I see they've toned down their claims to be a little more accurate.Anyway, I'm upgrading this from 3 stars to 4.

I got this lid because my favorite frying pan did not come with a lid. I found several lids but they either only fit 1 size or were all stainless. I wanted a glass lid and this one was a nice compromise; the steam vent is a plus too. The construction seems pretty sturdy but I'll have to see how it holds up over the years.

The maximum usable diameter of the lid is 12 3/8" and there are steps located at 11 1/2", 10 3/4", and 10" (see my product photo). If your pot or pan happens to be one of those diameters, you should get a nice fit; otherwise, expect some wiggle room. As another reviewer mentioned, lids like these can conflict with the handle on your pan, so before you buy it, make a few measurements to ensure everything will work out.

I've had no problems when using this lid for its advertised pan sizes. Its good points are: the glass insert (you can check cooking progress of foods); the handle stays cool; there's a steam vent; it does work with a variety of pan sizes; the stainless steel that doesn't discolor, and it can go in the dishwasher.

Wish I read the top review 'till the end.

BEFORE BUYING: If using it for pans with smaller diamater (8" or 10"), make sure the pan/pot handles are level with the rim of the pan or this lid will not sit flat on it. (HOW TO CHECK: Turn pan upside down on a flat surface, such as a table--if the weight of the pan leans entirely on the rim and not on the handles, then buying this cover is ok)

Thought that Starfrit only made ceramic coated pans.Obviously not. This is a polymer coated pan.Probably a decent pan if you're into polymer non-stick.

Circulon Symmetry Chocolate Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Inch and 12-Inch Skillet Twin Pack

Circulon Symmetry Chocolate Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Inch and 12-Inch Skillet Twin PackI admit, I was hesitant to purchase these, because of the price. I have never paid more than 100 bucks for an entire set of pots and pans, to pay half that for only two... but it was worth it. These pans are amazing and the food slips off of them. Cleaning them is very easy. the best feature is the height on the sides, which allow you to cook dishes with sauce or that need mixing, without it falling over the edge to the stove top. The rubber handle is a good grip. The only "con" is that they are very heavy, not that its really a con with the 10 inch pan, but the 12 inch pan is huge and heavy, making it a little awkward to cook with (and i have a little stove, 20"). But would buy again. I don't know if I would pay 250 for the whole set though, but these are the most used out of my set that needed replacement.

Bought these and a new induction cooktop together. They work well, cook evenly and cleanup in the dishwasher. Altogether, everything I wanted in a pan.

I have a full set of All Clad copper core.I purchased the Circulon simply because I cannot teach my wife the proper use of stainless steel frying pans and she complains that everything sticks, so I bought these.

They do not stick, even without any oil.

The caveat I have for the other comment that the rings inside the pan cause sticking. Its not the rings, it using too high of heat. Never go above medium and you will not burn food.

These are reasonably priced compared with ALL CLAD which is designed to last a lifetime.

BUT, I highly doubt they will remain non stick for more than a year or so without the coating coming off. but at this price, they are worth replacing every few years.

I still would not use metal metal utensils even though Circulon says its ok.

Nice medium weight pan.

I am thrilled so far with these skillets.I am not having any problem with the ridges in the skillet as you can't even really feel them.Nothing has stuck or even started to stick. So far very happy with my purchase.I would and already have recommended.I also want to add that when it say 10 and 12 inch, that is exactly the cooking are you have. Some of the pans say 12 inch and that is the measurement across the top and the bottom only measures about 9.That is not the case with these pans....

Le Chef Enamel Light Cast Iron Red Fry Pan 11-Inch, on Sale!

Le Chef Enamel Light Cast Iron Red Fry Pan 11-Inch, on Sale!I've never seen a more beatriful fry pan, but sadly the casting is defective having a very noticable 1/4 inch long pit in the frying surface. There are a couple smaller dimples, not so noticeable as well. This qaulifies the pan for a factory second in my opinion and sixty bucks is way too much to pay for a factory second and had I known it I would not have purched it at any price. Nicely packed but no name on either the box or the fry pan so whoever made it must not be very proud of their workmanship. I am not sure I want to go through the hastle of returning it, but have saved all the packing in case I decide to.

Great productvery heavy duty and the lid fits snugly on top so no steam escapes. It's small enough that it's perfect for a family of two. However, it came with no instructions for care...had it been my first cast iron purchase I would not have known proper care which could have turned out badly. All in all no complaints with the actual product at all.

All-Clad MC2 Saute Pan

All-Clad Master Chef 2 3-Quart Saute PanWhen I saw the size of this pan, I wondered if it could possibly work well on a conventional-sized gas burner. Or would it just heat the center of the pan with the outer areas relatively cool? The clerk at the store assured me that it would heat evenly because it has an inner core of pure aluminum besides the exterior of brushed aluminum to help it conduct heat all the way up the sides, too. I took a chance and purchased this pan. It is great!I cooked one of my favorite recipes--chicken marsala--in it and it performed flawlessly. The bottom of the pan heats evenly with no hot or cold spots. It is heavy enough that you can use high heat with no fear of the pan warping. You can cook at low temperatures and feel confident that the pure aluminum core will spread that gentle heat evenly all across the bottom and up the sides of the pan. It browns beautifully and the mirror-smooth stainless interior is easy to clean. The lid fits snugly and keeps those precious juices in your food.

For those who have never tried one of All-Clad's fine pans, here are a few tips. To prevent meats from sticking be sure to preheat the pan properly for at least a few minutes and do this on the same heat setting that you intend to use while browning your meat. Add the cooking oil (not a cooking spray) after the pan has heated. Use an oil that has a high smoking point like vegetable oil, peanut oil, or even light olive oil. Extra Virgin olive oil has too low a smoking point to be used for pan searing meats. Don't put cold meat in a hot pan for searing or it will stick. Let the meat sit out at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes before you begin to sear it. Pat it dry with paper towels to be sure it is not wet (that causes sticking, too). The pan should be hot enough that you hear a nice, loud sizzle when the meat is placed into the hot oil. Leave some space around individual pieces of meat to allow moisture to evaporate. If you crowd the pan, your meat will stew, not brown, and it will be tough. Don't poke or move the meat around once you have put it into the pan or it will not properly sear. Right after you place the meat in the pan, you may notice that it is sticking to the bottom of the pan. Don't panic! That is how the meat surface becomes properly carmelized (browned). The meat will tell you when it is properly seared because it will "release" from the bottom of the pan and can be easly moved and turned over. Repeat this searing process on the other side.

DEGLAZE! This is an important next step: remove the browned meat from your pan, pour off any excess oil that is left in the bottom. If you see a hardened brown crust on your beautiful pan, no worry. Just deglaze the pan by adding some wine, stock, even plain water, and stirring over medium heat to loosen those crusty patches. This process only takes a couple of minutes. Keep stirring to loosen anything that is stuck on the bottom of the pan, then you can add extra ingredients, return your meat to the pan, cover with the snug-fitting lid and braise or simmer to delightful tenderness.

With its all-metal construction, this pan is oven ready and can go right from stove top into the oven to finish your cooking. They are virtually indestructable, too, with a lifetime guarantee from All-Clad. They may be pricey but you can count on them as a lifetime investment and can even pass them on to your kids. You won't believe what a difference real quality cookware will be until you try it for yourself.

When it's time to wash the pan, hot sudsy water and a little Barkeeper's Friend scouring powder will restore the pan to like-new brilliance.

The only down side to this pan is that its slim handles make it difficult to manipulate. And you will need a pot holder or oven mitt to protect your hands from the "helper handle" (which does get hot) and the handle on the lid. The long, stay-cool handle will be just fine for stove-top use unless you put the pan in the oven.

Of the top 5 pans that no kitchen should be with out, the ALL-Clad MC2 saute pan is tied for number one in my book. Not only does the Master Chef 2 line cook better then ALL-Clad's "bread and butter" stainless line, it's also less expensive. Sauteing, shallow frying, poaching, steaming, you name it this pan can do it. I'm not a big fan of buying cookware sets, and that's why i purchased this pan seperately and paid the price, but its worth every penny. Cooking in this saute pan produces an incredible "fond" (little bits of food particles), that when deglazed, produce an extraordinary pan sauce. This is something I would NEVER want to cook without. In fact, I plan on willing it to my children so they can have the same enjoyment that I have had.

This pan is great! I use it on an almost daily basis for sauces, stir fry, and the like. High sides keep the sauce in the pan and off the stovetop. Cleans easily. This pan and the 6 quart saute pan are the two pans I use the most.

Most amateur cooks are either unaware of or ignore the true French saute pan, of which this is a superb exemplar. The very best thing about this shape, with accompanying lid, is that it can work as either a saute or as a brazing pan, since it has all the best features to braize (low sides and lid).

I recently got this to replace my old Calphalon anodized aluminum pots, as I ultimately felt these did not work as well on electric stoves as they did on gas. Among other things, they actually tended to warp a bit. I'm expecting this stainless steel clad construction will satisfy me for far longer than the old black aluminum.

I've used this bad boy several times since I've gotten it and it has worked like a champ. I expect to use it almost as often as the workhorse 6 quart stock pot.

This is a really wonderful pan to cook with...I never realized what a difference a well-made pan could make.It is heavy duty, heats evenly, cleans up nice and easily goes from stovetop to oven. A cook's dream! Not having any experience with high-end cookware, the deciding factor for me was that it was supposed to be American-made in my home state of PA.Too bad when it arrived and the lid was wrapped separately with a MADE IN CHINA label inside the bag.It sure is hard to buy American and support the US economy...even when you try your best to do so!

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10137 Spoon Rest, 6 1/2 Inch x 4 3/4 Inch

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10137 Spoon Rest, 6 1/2 Inch x 4 3/4 InchI bought this small spoon rest/skillet to use both ways. It's used as a spoon rest next to the stove, and also as warmer for small amounts of sauces and cooking single eggs. Next, I'd like to try a 10" or 12" skillet from Old Mountain, since I like this small one . . . and it IS small, as it has a 3 1/2" inside diameter.

Perfect for a spoon rest and super cute! You can also use it to make a baked egg for 1! what fun!

The main reason I got this was to match the 12" wide, 2" deep cast iron skillet i have. Makes a great match to that big skillet. It also looks like you could nicely cook a single egg in it too. And I'm amused every time I see it, so that is good enough for me.

FYI, be careful what else you order with this. In my case, it was loose in a box with other things bouncing around. no real damage to anything else, but you might want to consider that if fragile things are being ordered in the same shipment.

T-fal Performance Stainless Steel Copper Bottom Fry / Saute Pan, Silver

T-fal C8390564 Performance Stainless Steel Copper Bottom 10.5-Inch Fry / Saute Pan, SilverI ordered this skillet because meats don't brown well in our nonstick skillet. After years of using nonstick, I had to relearn what my mother taught me--preheat dry on medium high heat until droplets of water "dance" in the pan when tossed from fingertips, then add 1 tablespoon oil and coat the bottom of the pan. Add food before oil gets smoking hot. To avoid sticking, do not try to turn food until cooked halfway through.

The heavy copper bottom distributes heat evenly, allowing even cooking. Sticking is minimal, even with delicate foods like tilapia and eggs.

Best of all, deglazing this pan produces a nice sauce to serve over the meat, not the watery broth I used to get with the nonstick skillet.

Two weeks into using this skillet, I don't know how I managed without it.

I love this pan!Nothing sticks.I just spray it with cooking spray and can fry eggs without them sticking to the pan.Fried eggplant and everything browned perfectly!I recommend this pan to anyone who seriously loves to cook!!Cleanup is a breeze too.Price is just right.

for the prices that Tfal offers, it is simply one of the best brands to buy if you cannot afford the unbelievable expensive calphalon, cuisinart etc...

for a 1/3 of the price you will an excellent pan that heats up quickly, distributes heat evenly and cleans like a CHARM!

this is the first stainless steel pan that I have owned and so far it's been amazing.

For those people complaining about sticking... it's stainless steel folks you need to know how to adjust the heat correctly for food not to stick

There are certain tips and tricks that chefs in restaurants use to prevent sticking on stainless steel cookware one of them was by none other than Alton Brown in his Good Eats show where he was pan searing a fish fillet.

His trick was to put some form of fat in the pan first (oil, butter etc...) and as soon as the fish hits the HEATED pan, move it by shaking the pan back and forth for like 30 seconds and that will prevent the fish from sticking to the pan until it forms a nice crust on its outside

This is not the best stainless steel pan you can ever buy, but for under 30$ it surpasses many others than cost more than twice as much. Tfal is still one of my favorite brands to use. Most of my kitchen ware consists of Tfal pots and pans and I have been very happy with them.

This was part of my first foray into stainless steel cookware, and there's no going back!

I have used non-stick for many years and I've smelled the terrible smell of teflon burning. I don't like the idea of chemicals leeching into my food and Stainless, Copper, or Aluminum pots and pans allow you to cook at much higher temperatures than what is safe with non-stick. This means you can do what chefs have always told us to do -put cold oil on a hot pan (and not the other way around) :)

Higher temperature cooking (as well as not worrying about scraping off teflon coating) has allowed me to cook differently than I did before. I have had a lot of fun pan-frying meat until it's nice and crispy without worrying about consequences. Although this pan is technically too small for a lot of stir fry, it also enables you to do quick, hot methods to prepare food.

The problem I've had with other stainless steel cookware is their neglect toward ergonomics. I'm not sure why companies would design thin, crampy handles, but T-Fal has done us all a favor and made something completely comfy.

In terms of staining, my pan does not look like it did originally, but I'm sure with some Barkeep's Friend I can get it back to normal. But hey, I use my cookware to cook, not as a set-piece!

For the price, you cannot do better than this pan. I would recommend it to anyone, and I hope T-Fal enjoys success and produces more in this line of products.

Want T-fal Performance Stainless Steel Copper Bottom Fry / Saute Pan, Silver Discount?

This pan cooks very well even with low or medium heat and with no sticking! The pan spreads heat very evenly because there is a solid copper disk about 1/4 " thick encapsulated with stainless steel in the bottom. It's heavy but the handle is very comfortable to hold and it stays cool. It is tubular stainless steel and is very securly welded to the pan itself. This pan just seems much more expensive and well made than the price would indicate.

Emeril Pro-Clad Stainless Sauce Pans

Emeril by All-Clad E9831864 PRO-CLAD Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe 3-Quart Sauce Pan Cookware, SliverI received this pot as a wedding gift about six months ago, along with a Tramontina pot the same size. Both are good cookware, though I find the proportions of this onebetter balanced and more pleasing to the hand. I've grown up using stainless cookware of the disk on the bottom type so I found this pot a pleasant change of pace. It does heat more evenly. It is, of course, quite possible to burn something onto the bottom, as with any stainless pot, but a little scrubbing (of which the brushed inside finish is very forgiving) will quickly get it out. The handle is comfortable to hold, and doesn't seem to get very hot. Overall, a great pot I look forward to using for many years.

This is a great addition to the set in stores which generally doesn't come with a 1 qt pan.We wanted one for gravy and soups and were surprised to find that this pan has a lip around it that makes it easy to pour from the pan without getting the pan all messy.I recommend this product to anyone with the Emerilware set.

Buy Emeril Pro-Clad Stainless Sauce Pans Now

Our family bought a ten piece set of Emeril Pro-Clad Cookware for my mother's birthday, and she is thrilled with it. I've used this cookware and found it to be far superior to everything else. Heat is distributed evenly, the glass lid allows you to see what's going on without removing the lid and losing all the heat and the combination pouring spout and strainer is very convenient. Another nice touch is the presence of two pouring spouts the designer didn't force you to pour from one side or the other. Finally, the aluminum core on the bottom of the pan which conducts and distributes heat so well is completely enclosed in stainless steel, so the injurious effects of aluminum are avoided while the benefits are retained.

I recommend Emeril Pro-Clad Cookware to everyone. It will last you a lifetime and I don't believe you'll ever find anything better.

I just received the 1 quart Emiril 1 quart Pro-Clad sauce pan.I have not used it yet, but it seems very well made and I have no doubt that it will work very well. My issue with it is that when I took it out of the box is seemed rather small. As a test, I poured four one cup measurements of water into the pot and the water overflowed; not a lot of water overflowed but some did. There is no way that one could cook a quart of food in this pot.As a practical matter, what I received is a 3 cup sauce pan.

Unlike some reviewers, the pot I received is what was pictured in that it does not have a pour spout and it is heavy weight, but as I said, it just is not a quart size.

Cuisinart GR-1 Griddler Panini and Sandwich Press

Cuisinart GR-1 Griddler Panini and Sandwich PressI feel like I am back on the streets of Paris every time I plug in my beautiful Cuisinart Panini and Sandwich Press. This press makes the best grilled cheese sandwich you ever ate, I guarantee it.I love how you can stick a whole hoagie roll or chunk of french bread loaf with sandwich makings inside into it and squish it into a hot & yummy hunk of cheese-oozong goodness.Or, you can use regular bread and make toasty club sandwiches or grilled cheese.

This guy hangs out in the cupboard and is easy to pull out, just plug in and wait for the green light to come on.You can have a quick french dip dinner ready in 5 minutes that everyone will lovealso perfect for grilled cheese and tomato soup nightor just want to make some garlic bread to go with your spaghetti without heating up the whole oven?I LOVE my panini press.

It is really easy to cleanalthough I haven't tried grilling meats or anything beyond sandwiches and bread.Gooey cheese comes off easily and the whole thing wipes down quickly with a damp washcloth.

Elvis would have died over the peanut butter and banana sandwiches we make in this baby! The frying pan's got nothin' on our Panini Press.

Normally I'm not one to go crazy over kitchen appliances but I am compelled to sing the praises of this little wonder. This is sad, but my wife and I eat grilled cheese sandwiches a couple of nights a week because we love them so much. It's sort of our dirty little secret. This little miracle has opened up a whole new universe of possibilities. Our old-style Salton grilled-cheese maker would invariable push the top slice of bread out from the rest of the sandwich because of the operation of the hinge, and forget about putting anything in there other than bread and a couple of slices of cheese because it couldn't handle the thickness. With the GR-1 though, you can put a Dagwood-sized sandwich (the floating hinge allows HUGE sandwiches) in and in just a few minutes, the weight of the top plate has compressed the whole thing into a critical mass of concentrated goodness. Anything I can put between two piecs of bread is becoming a panini these days. This will probably take five years off of my life because I have doubled my weekly consumption of molten cheese, but it's worth it.

After reading the reviews of similar products and this one and knowing that I'm always disappointed when I go for the cheap stuff, I bought this one. I am SO glad I did. My son has been a big fan of grilled cheese sandwiches for 5 years now and it's not slowing down. I hate getting out the frying pan (and the butter) and making them the old-fashioned way. With the Cuisinart, I don't have to use butter. The taste is still great! My son gives it a thumbs up. Plus in less time than it takes me to make one the old-fashioned way I can make two. And my son can use it too. It's so easy, just put the cheese in the bread, wait for the green light, put the sandwich on the griddler and watch it do all the work. I've experimented with other kinds of sandwiches and they all turn out perfectly. I even use it to do quesadillas and heat up fish sticks. It works and makes them crunchy. Plus it doesn't heat up the whole house like the oven does.

The GR1 works just fine but it is impossible to clean and there is no temperature control. Those are it's faults.

You can buy the GR35 at Costco for $39, it is the same size and it has an on off switch with temperature control, and the plates are removable and flat on one side.

I did not like sandwiches that were like waffels when you heat them from the grooved side of the plate. I use the smooth side so they look like they were done in a pan. If you think wiping out grooves is easy just try it for it is not.

With the temperature control you can slow heat the sandwich so the whole sandwich gets hot rather then just the outside.

To turn on the GR1 you must pull the plug in and out of the wall each time, this is just wrong, it will arc each time you do it, this is hard on the wall side and will wear it out. A very bad way to control anything electric.

Get the GR35.

My GR1 is going on ebay.

I looked at several panini presses before deciding on the Cuisinart. We have been very happy with the performance of this panini press. It heats quickly and the floating hinge allows the cooking of thicker sandwiches. The press is simple to clean, even if cheese has baked onto the grill surface. The only thing that might make this press better is a larger grilling surface. But, for the money, this press certainly does the job.

Swiss Diamond Induction Series 11 Inch Open Fry Pan

Swiss Diamond Induction Series 11 Inch Open Fry PanI have owned two of these pans for just over a year. Use them almost daily. High quality interior and exterior. I hand wash immediately after use. Bought them for my induction cooktop in another state. Now in another house where I use them on electric cooktop. I bought the glass cover as well. Absolutely tremendous pans. By the way, I do not use oils or grease or Pan just water or broth. I have learned to let ingredients get to "dry" and then add some water gives the same brown color and flavor as using oil, without the calories and greasy feel to foods. I highly recommend this pan

My husband and I bought this frying pan because we do a lot of cooking and go through the cheap ones in just a few short weeks. Even the more expensive pans usually start to lose their non-stick coating in a month or so. We were a little apprehensive about spending so much money on one frying pan, but it is well worth the cost. I highly recommend these pans for anyone who does a lot of cooking and gets tired of replacing their cheaper pans.

For a number of reasons, I enjoy my smooth-top stove. However, I found it important that my pots and pans have smooth bottoms, fully touching the burner to provide even heat. Needing a big frying pan that would produce nice, even-color pancakes (for instance) on a smooth-top stove, I first researched cooking sets on Consumer Reports. I found that Swiss Diamond cookware did very well on their tests. The price is high but decided the purchase was for long-term use, when quality pays for itself. Since purchasing this pan, I've found it lived up to my cooking expectations and enjoy the bonus that it is very easy to clean. It is a little on the heavy side but I don't know of a lighter weight pan that would heat as evenly.I am considering replacing some of my other cookware with this brand when and as my budget allows.

a VERY SUBSTANTIAL PAN.Doesn't put grill marks on the food as much as I'd like but I think you'd need to set the pan on high which apparently is a no-no, to achieve it.I have a ceramic top electric range

so it works fine for this type of range, even tho' the bottom is not flat.

I have only used this grill pan a few times; for some reason it is not perfectly round. I have been sooooooo careful with this pan, that I have no idea how it lost its shape. I would have really appreciated a GUIDE as to how to use this pan for different foods there was NOTHING! I have learned my lesson I will not order pans online in the future; this was not inexpensive, and I do not have any idea as to how to utilize this grill pan to the fullest.

Lodge Logic LGP3 Pre-Seasoned Rectangular Cast-Iron Grill Press

Lodge Logic LGP3 Pre-Seasoned Rectangular Cast-Iron Grill PressThis press heavy enough for use as a small meat or sandwich press. You may need to get another one if you like to cook for a large group or like to cook different things in a large pan.

You will still need to season it a bit for sandwiches or they will stick. If you are just frying bacon, then the original finish will also season up in no time.

A basic, no-nonsense product.Handle will get hot.

I am a vegetarian and I use this grill press all the time. It's great for grilled sandwiches! It will help you make great stuffed french toast. Your hashbrowns won't be a sloppy, crumbly mess anymore. This heavy little bugger is perfect for the aforementioned applications and about 40,000 more but the thing I use it for on almost a daily basis is preparing tofu. That magical bean curd benefits tremendously from the steady pressure of a hot lodge grill press!

I bought this for my inside grill. I found when I cooked pork chops the corners wouldn't be quite done because they liked to curl up slightly. This has totally fixed my problem.I do have to adjust my cooking time because the press is a bit heavy & the meat cooks more quickly than before.

A well made product. My only gripe is the petite size.As one person pointed out, this is my error for not doing my homework. However, my interest was in purchasing the large cast-iron grill, the press was offered when I made my selection and just from looking at the photos, it appeared to be more appropriately sized for the grill I was purchasing.Again, it was my error for not confirming the size before agreeing to the added purchase. If I had checked, I would not have purchased the press. It's good for one person and that is not the way we cook.

Earth Pan Plus Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set, Bronze

Earth Pan Plus Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set, Bronze ()Pros:

* REALLY, REALLY nice looking set

* Insulated handles means you don't need pot holders

* Excellent even heat distribution

* Non-skillets work problem free

* Transparent glass lids? Nice.

* No PTFE or PTOA means no potential Teflon deterioration contamination problems

Cons:

* Potential durability problem with the skillets (see updates at bottom on this issue)

* You'll have to learn to cook on low to medium heat as recommended (not really a "con")

* Both skillets are small, only 1/2 inch difference in flat bottom

I've been using these for a week since I received them. You might want to consider buying a single skillet, or pot, to see if these are suitable for your kitchen, then get a full set if you are pleased. A motivation for a lot of people has to do with the potential health issues of the deterioration of Teflon this set purports to be totally green in that respect.

First thing I did was gently wash them with paper towels, warm water, and gentle hand soap (what? you think I cook with things right from the store?). I restricted my personal use to the 8 inch skillet, gave my wife the 10 inch skillet for testing. We both used the pots. All cooking was done on a ceramic/glass stove top using nothing hotter than the medium burner setting. All cooking was done with a set of nylon cooking utensils I bought specifically to use with this cookware set no metal utensils were used with this set.

Off the bat, a week's worth of use of the pots? Excellent. No problems making pasta (with meatballs), red tomato sauce, rice, oatmeal, and even boiled some eggs. The insulated handles meant I kept putting my pot holders down as I realized I didn't need them to pick up and move the cookware or lift the lids. The pots look nice, work nice. But the skillets . . .

The 8 inch skillet immediately exhibited a chip on the rim maybe I banged it when I washed it and maybe it came that way, but that was still a warning about durability.

Though described as "10 inch" and "8 inch", when you measure the useable size of the flat inside bottom (call it the "pancake size") they are 5 1/2 inch and 5 inch for me that means I can still only fry one egg at a time in either one (see my customer photo). The math tells me there's less than 1/2 square inch difference in the useable flat area between the two. The size described is measuring the diameter at the top rim. So, big difference in VOLUME, tiny difference in area.

First thing I did was cook some fried eggs in the 8 inch skillet with nothing added. They stuck a little, but not much. One edge of an egg even curled up from the skillet (that's good) as it cooked. Cleaning with water and paper towel? Perfect. Again, this was the 8 inch skillet which was the one with a small chip.

I spent the week making eggs and bacon in the 8 inch skillet with no problems. The bacon cooked the nicest, and most evenly, that I've ever seen or done. Pieces on the rim, pieces in the center: perfect. Obvious nice, even, heating. After pouring out the bacon grease, cooking the eggs in the tiny amount left was slippery smooth wonderful.

My wife cooked in the larger, 10 inch skillet. She made sausages (no oil at all) and they immediately caused little "stick smears" which cleaned up pretty easily with a nylon scrubber. However, there were obvious scratches in the bottom of the skillet.

No problems with the pots, the skillets may have durability issues. And sometimes, things DO stick, albeit slightly. I must admit to never having intentionally considered non-stick cookware, so I understand that these might be issues with non-stick cookware as a category. I have to give this 3 out of 5 stars because of the immediate concerns with durability. If, over use, these hold up, I'll revisit and will upgrade my rating. If they continue to have problems, I will downgrade.

UPDATE 14 FEB 2012: After only 4 weeks of use the 8 inch skillet is showing definite chipping on the rim (see user photo for this product). This chipping is new; it's on the opposite side of the original chip mentioned in my review. None of the other pans are showing anything; the 8 inch skillet is the one piece of cookware we use the most. It hasn't been "babied" but it also hasn't been slung around carelessly. It has been used about every other day in a household (not restaurant) kitchen. The non-stick surface (so far) appears to be holding up well and I really enjoy cooking with these. The chipping isn't (yet) that big of an issue for ME since I expect wear on my cookware and am personally more concerned with performance than esthetics. Still enough of an issue that keeps me from bumping this set up from my initial rating of 3 stars.

()In testing out this cookware set, I was comparing them to my previous set, which are copper bottomed pans. All in all, I found that these pots/pans cooked more evenly than the copper bottomed pans. When I boiled water in these pans, they boiled more evenly and stayed boiling better at a lower temperature.

What I didn't like about this cookware set:

-First of all, there is no lid that fits the bigger pan which is frustrating because many of my recipes, you're supposed to cover them while you cook. Good thing we still had the copper bottom pans & lids to use.

-Second, cleaning them was very easy except I noticed that if any food got up by the fasteners on the inside of the pan, the food got stuck underneath the fasteners very easily, but was not so easy to clean out.

-Third, the pans are small the smallest is good for scrambled eggs or the like, the other is good for maybe 1/2 lb of ground beef. We tried fixing a recipe that had a pound of ground beef and it was too much for the 10" skillet.

Other than those drawbacks, we enjoy using this set over our copper bottomed set.

()This is a standard 10 piece starter set.It has two frypans/skillets,three sauce pans with covers and a stock pot with cover (this cover also can be used for the large skillet, none of the lids fit the small skillet.)

While I am not crazy about the color of the pots, this is nothing I can't live with. The coating makes it easy to clean but if you are coating the bottom with oil for sauteeing, the oil does not stay disbursed.

One feature of the sauce pans is the base is smaller than normal, which means they are taller than normal. The down side of this not a lot of room if you want to brown meat or carmelize onions before adding the other ingrediants. The benefit of this is sauces tend to simmer more evenly and less likely chance of burning.

Personal experiences

I used the small frypan to sautee some vegetables and it worked fine except for the oil not coating the bottom.

I used the largest sauce pan to cook pasta (ravioli) and it did this well with no sticking to the pan.

I used the medium sauce pan to cook some chili verde which I let simmer for an hour and there was no scorching.

And finally, I used the small sauce pan to cook rice. This is where the smaller base caused issue. It was suppose to cook in 25 minutes but after 50 minutes it still needed more time for the rice to absorb the water. This is why I feel that the sauce pans will do well for slow cooking.

Overall, these are nice but I think they will be more back up to my Calphon set instead of a replacement to them.

()I must confess, I'm a sort-of cookware snob. I'd rather save my pennies to buy one beautiful piece of All-Clad than buy an entire cookware set. On the other hand, for nonstick purposes, I've always relied on the well-seasoned cast iron pans I've picked up at auctions and yard sales for pennies. However, I was intrigued by the opportunity to test a set of so-called green cookware, since I've never read anything particularly good about nonstick pans. Besides, I now have children setting up their own households. Would the Earth Pan II set be a useful and not overly expensive option for them?

I've used the pans for several weeks. Even though I do a lot of cooking, I can't say whether these pans will hold up for years of cooking. It's impossible to be definitive on the durability issue in such a short period of time. The pans do have a nice feel.Of mostly aluminum construction with a stainless steel base, they are not too heavy, and the riveted rubberized handles stay cool, a nice feature. The glass lids are also welcome, and the bronze color is attractive.I should note that these pans are manufactured in China.

As for the nonstick coating, it seems to work nicely. I find myself reaching for these pans for things like scrambled eggs or oatmeal. I have not noticed any chipping or peeling. (If I do note some at a later date, I will update the review.) None of the pans is very big, which makes it a perfect set for a small family. If your family is larger, you will want to acquire a Dutch oven and a large skillet.

I think this set would make a fine starter set(perhaps a wedding present?) for someone just beginning to equip a kitchen. If the pans eventually show signs of wear, one could begin to replace them piece by piece, which is the best way to buy cookware, in my opinion. Cooks Illustrated tested a number of "green" skillets in 2009 and concluded that none of them were perfect. There was a predecessor of the Earth Pan II in that group, but the newer model I tested looked much improved. If you're buying the Earth Pan II set as a gift, add a 10" cast iron skillet to the present.Think of it as a cookware relay: the serviceable and attractive Earth Pans will get the recipient to the point where that cast iron skillet, by now well-seasoned, will pick up the baton and carry on forever.

Update 7/12

After several months of use, I noticed that the nonstick coating on the large pot in this set, which is the pan I've used the most (pasta and the like), had begun to chip around the rim.

Update 9/12

Most of the pans are chipping, despite careful use. This set is junk. Buy good pots, even if it's only one.

Nordic Ware Restaurant Cookware 12 Inch Skillet

Nordic Ware Restaurant Cookware 12 Inch SkilletNo question that high quality cookware is easier to work with, lasts longer and produces better results.I've been using All Clad for years and swear by it.However, the coating on all non-stick cookware, whether it's All Clad, Calphalon or whatever, wears out over time, no matter how careful you are.So why pay $150 for the name All Clad on a 12" non stick pan when $50 gets you a very similar pan with the same coating from Nordicware?I actually have 8" non sticks from both Nordicware and All Clad and I detect no difference in heft, durability or results. The value is so good that I bought an 8", 10" AND 12" Nordicware for less than one 10" All Clad.

I recently bought a 8", 10" and 12" Nordic Restaurant skillets with lids and I am very happy with the purchase. The skillets are everything they are advertised to be. You notice it from the moment you pick it up. They are heavy and solid and I am sure will give years of great service. And to top it off they are made in the USA...to me that means something.

Buy Nordic Ware Restaurant Cookware 12 Inch Skillet Now

This is no nonsense restaurant quality cookware. It doesn't have a 4 layer bottom made of layers of copper, iron, Damascus steel and silver. It's not coated with titanium or plated with gold. The handle isn't graceful and elegant. It isn't very pretty. Who cares? If you have to cook a lot, and don't always treat your pans like exquisite kitchen jewelry, this one is for you. This is one tough pan. Nordic is not kidding with the name; this is commercial grade stuff.

The no-stick coating works very well, and it's tough enough to stand up to occasional use of metal utensils. The rubber handle cover comes off for cleaning, and to allow you to put the pan in the oven; you can bake in it if you want to. The metal handle is attached with giant rivets; it's never ever going to come lose. Use the rubber handle cover; it gives you a nice big gripping surface and it stays cool.

It's not going to last forever. But I've got 3 years out of mine so far, and it's still in great shape. Very good cost:performance ratio.

I'm on my third set of 8", 10" and 12" Nordic Ware non-stick skillets. My wife and I are very satisfied with the performance of these skillets. Cooks Illustrated is right, being non-stick, they naturally wear over time, so why purchase expensive brands that will be replaced. These skillets are very well made (riveted handles, long-lasting non-stick surface, multiple layer aluminum, nicely tapered sides) and they heat up quickly and cook evenly. The rubber handles are removable in case the skillet needs to go into the oven. Don't be put off by the phrase "Restaurant grade." These are excellant skillets in the home environment. And, they are made in the USA.

I've been using this pan for over a month now and like it a lot. It's very light weight and the non-stick coating is superb.I've been very pleased with it's performance thus far. No need to spend over more for a pan, the non-stick coating eventually wears off on all pans over time. This felt like the right price point for me.I use this pan almost every day.Scrambled eggs come out perfect, and stir fry's were quick and easy.Highly recommend.

BergHOFF Earthchef 7-Inch Try Me Skillet

BergHOFF Earthchef 7-Inch Try Me SkilletI liked the idea of non-stick pans being made without hazardous materials, so I decided to try this skillet. It's EXCELLENT, and worth a lot more than it cost!Nothing sticks to it, not even water!I washed the pan before I used it, dumped out the water, and there was nothing left completely dry!I mostly use it to cook eggs for breakfast, and no matter what I do, I can't get anything to stick to the darn thing!Just wipe it lightly and it's ready to go again.

Oh, and regarding the handle heating, which one or two other reviewers mentioned don't worry about it.It's only an issue if you have the flame set so wide that you're heating the sides of the skillet instead of the bottom, which is wasteful as well as counterproductive. It only takes a small flame to develop sufficient, even heat under this sucker.I've left it on the burner for more than twenty minutes and I can still pick it up bare handed.I intend to get the larger version too. This company makes great, green products you can feel good about!

Oh yeah, one other thing I wanted to mention what with the shape of the pan (vertical sides) and the incredible lack of friction, I've FINALLY mastered that "flip" technique you see on all the cooking shows!!I never got the hang of that before!

I have had this product (imported from a friend in Canada) for months, and use it almost daily. On a glass cooking surface, the handle is a non-issue not hot to the touch as long as the proper burner size is selected.I can see how gas would have a bad effect, though!Non-stick is really a dream, and even stands up to high-heat cooking without damage.I have not noticed any flavors in the food.As a matter of fact, I can finally taste my food.Maybe the other reviewer has a bad pan?Or maybe my taste buds are not picking it up...At any rate, I am buying more of these, as they appear to be safe to cook with (no chemicals).

Poor product Poor customer service Would not buy again for half the price

Warning: First time reviewer here, but I use the reviews of products exclusively on whether or not to purchase products on amazon.com. I do not want any other users to go through the same poor customer service I did only to gain nothing.

I have purchased a set of Berghoff Scala Ceramic coated frying pans. I used the main 12" pan for about a month. As time progresses the pan started to stick. I contacted the customer service dept. that told me to deep clean the pan with baking soda and water. After it was dry add oil to the pan while slowly reheating it.I did this several times to cure my pan as suggested by the customer service rep. He assured me that it would take some time for this to work. This took place over 4 months after purchasing the set.I then got preoccupied when moving into my renovated kitchen. After dealing with my renovation I found the pan again. It was now 12 months since purchase.I had a new representative that made it sound like the guy I was speaking to previously did a poor job and was let go, which he was very rude. She stated they needed to find my files and reopen the review of my pan.She advised me to send the pan in so the warranty dept. could look at the pan. I had to pay shipping both ways but I figured they would at least get my pan back into good condition.Berghoff never called or emailed that they had my pan even though I sent a letter with the pan. After waiting a month I decided to email and see if they received the pan. The last customer service rep I had was now gone and I had a new one again. She had to find the pan again and pull up the files. After a reply from the newest customer service rep she stated that my pan was not covered under warranty.WHAT?

She explained that due to the color of the bottom of the pan I had overheated the pan and that the warranty was now void. I the dirt she cleaned on the bottom of my pan was on all our pans we had. We have a glass top range that we cool all our meals on. It does get dirty at times. I simply took a nylon scrubber to clean one of the other pans I had just to see how hard it was.I emailed back stating that her suggestion was not the case and that I wanted to speak to a supervisor.Three weeks later still no response.I called and was directed to the same person I was dealing with my emails. She said she brought the pan to her supervisor and stated that she agreed while refusing to allow me to speak to her supervisor.

The facts: Not once did I ever cook with the pan over ½ heat on my range top. I primarily cooked eggs, sausage, warmed up veggies, and cooked some fish. Mind you that I only used the pan 1 month.I hand washed it after every use. At first everything would slide out of the pan. The pan got to the point where I had to scrape it each time after use and then let it sit in soap water. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AFTER 1 MONTH OF USE!

Due to the numerous customer service representatives, poor service, and average pans I would never recommend anyone buy from this company. They did offer me a deal though, 50% off their retail of a new pan. That was almost the same price I could buy it off of amazon.com.

Buyer Beware Stay Away Learn from my mistakes.

Want BergHOFF Earthchef 7-Inch Try Me Skillet Discount?

Bought this little pan after getting a new induction stove. It Works great so far, as a normal pan. Heats things up evenly, and the handle does not get hot as some of the reviews suggested. It may with a gas stove, but using it on a induction stove.

Not sure why they call it 'practical pouring rim'its just like any other rim.

The surface is about the same as a regular non stick pan in terms of cooking. If you dont oil/butter the food, it will stick and burn on the pan. Eggs dont just slide around using the non stick surface.

If used like any other non stick pan you are used to, its just the same, a bit pricey infact, but does well work with induction cooking.

WearEver Pure Living Nonstick Ceramic Coating PTFE-PFOA-Cadmium Free Dishwasher Safe Cookware Set,

WearEver C944SA64 Pure Living Nonstick Ceramic Coating PTFE-PFOA-Cadmium Free Dishwasher Safe 10-Piece Cookware Set, Champagne GoldWhen I decided I wanted this set it was "temporarily unavailable" on Amazon, and I did not want to wait. So, I found it locally at a store that is taking over the world. They had it in red, and just a few bucks less. This was perfect, because it matches my red and white ceramic baking set.

What isn't shown in the picture is the 2 pans shown uncovered are actually a perfect fit for the 2 smallest lids. So all 5 pans in this set can be covered, just not at the same time.

I do really enjoy cooking in these pans. All of the lids have steam-holes. I like cooking rice in the saucepan because I don't have the problems of boiling over or sticking to the bottom like my old ones. So far, nothing has stuck to these pans. They have been easy to cook with and easy to clean.

I had been researching and shopping around for a new pan set for a while and decided on the wearever pure living set for several reasons. I wanted to stop using teflon. I like my cast iron, but it's not always convenient, nor is it truly non-stick. I considered hard anodized aluminum, but learned that cooking in those pans added aluminum to food, especially when cooking acidic foods such as lemon or tomato sauce. Also many such pans are still coated with teflon.

Once I decided on ceramic coated pans, this pan set was an easy choice. I found significantly lower reviews on other similarly priced pans. I did find some sets that were reviewed just as highly, but they were far more expensive. And not all of them were cadmium-free. Plus this wearever set has silicone handles, so they can safely go in the oven. I really like that.

In summary, I'm quite happy with my choice. I feel like I bought the best pans I could have in my price range.

I have a 7 year old WearEver Stainless cookware set that I've enjoyed, but it hasn't been the easiest set to fry certain foods in (sticking issues).Looking for healthier alternatives to non-stick I stumbled across the reviews for this set and took a gamble.

With WearEver brand sets it is hit or miss some are robust and very well built, others seem thin and flimsy, but this set is truly fantastic. The gold tone is very pretty, the white ceramic interior is amazing. We had accidently left a near empty pot of gravy on a lit element for over an hour, and nothing burned, warped, or melted -in fact, the pot wiped clean, no scrubbing needed. We have cooked spaghetti sauce and indian sauces in the pans no stains have resulted. The ceramic is more non-stick than any teflon pan I have ever had.I like this set over the other set available because of the pan sizes included.I wish amazon would stock this more readily -I have sent several friends over to buy a set but it always shows 'out of stock'

***Note: I purchased the 10 piece set, although my review is popping up under the 5 piece set.I don't know why they can't keep the 10 pc in stock, it is a much more user-friendly donfiguration of pans.

Pros:

healthier than most non-stick ones on the market (I wouldn't touch Teflon with a 9 foot pole)

the price is reasonable

the pieces are just the right shape and size

sturdy, not too light, heats pretty evenly

not nearly as heavy as enameled cast iron (which supposed to be THE healthiest cookware), which is great for the wrists

they do not slide around on my gas burner as some of my other pots.

cleans up really nicely and without effort. Seriously, no other cookware I owned before cleaned up as easily as this one, inside and out. A wipe of a sponge with a drop of dishsoap is all it takes, rinse, done. For this reason, I havent even felt the need to put it in the dishwasher saving energy.

it is husband-proof, even when he overboiled or burnt something, it cleaned up just as easily.

the handles stay cool and they are comfortable, I especially like the larger lid handles

the lids fit well and the tiny vent hole in the lid allows some steam to escape, preventing pressure from lifting the lid. No need to prop up the lid with a wooden spoon.

the lids are also heat proof and can be used in the oven as well

looks nice, the color goes with just about anything

I like the white interior, I can actually see how clean it is

made in USA, YAY, I'd like more manufacturing to return home. Sick of seeing contaminated Asian junk flooding our stores. (sorry, I couldn't resist adding that)

Cons:

can't think of any at this point.

don't care for the utensil set that came with it. I prefer silicone utensils.

We have been heavily using the set daily for 2 months now and it is still perfect, inside and out. I like it so much that I ordered a second set. That never happened before with a cookware set.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 3-Quart Saucier Pans

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 3-Quart Saucier Pan, MarseilleCons:

Like all Le Creuset cookware:

* The exterior must be cleaned each time they're used or the bottom is a bear to clean.I spent an hour cleaning one pot that I neglected to clean after I used it several times and food spilled over.

* Being made out of cast-iron, they're very heavy. Not recommended for those who have difficulties holding heavy objects.

* They're very expensive.

* Being cast-iron, it takes longer to heat the cookware. Not good for a quick egg.

* The handles are very, very hot.I found the plastic slip on covers to be useless. You have to use mitts to avoid burning yourself.

Pros:

Like all Le Creuset cookware:

* The porcelain is much more durable than other cookware or appliances since it is baked on at a much higher temperature. The porcelain is what your parents or grandparents used to have on their appliances and chipped only when abused.

* The interior is surprisingly easy to clean considering that it doesn't have stick-free coatings.

* Being cast-iron, the heat is distributed more evenly.

* These will last you a lifetime and can be handed down to your children and their children.

* You use less energy. I find that I have to lower the gas setting and use smaller burners.

About 10-15 years ago, I bought a large set of the more expensive Calphalon cookware. The exteriors are now disgusting looking and impossible to clean.Even with using wood or plastic utensils and proper cleaning pads, the stick-free surfaces now require soaking to clean. Some I had to throw out (at $200 each). The rest are in the garage waiting for the annual neighborhood garage sale. Over $1000 (on sale) spent for just one decade.Had I spent that much money 10 years ago on Le Creuset, I would still have all of the cookware and could have passed them on to my children.

I don't use this Saucier Pan for making sauces -I use it as a general purpose pan with a lid.

The interior is bright smooth porcelain and so far had been easy to clean. If something does stick (e.g., rice), I soak it in water and use plastic cleaning pads to remove any residue.

My only gripe with this pan is that there's a hole in the lid.According to the paperwork, that's to prevent some foods, like rice, from spilling over when bringing to a boil. That might be true but the hole is letting the steam out while I'm cooking.

The first time I made brown rice, the rice dried out and stuck to the bottom (after an hour or two of soaking, the stuck-on rice came off) because of the steam escaping from the hole in the lid. I used a gas range with a small burner and use the lowest setting.

I made a tapered wooden maple peg and stuck it into the hole. With the hole plugged I made rice and some rice still stuck. The third time, I turned the heat off after 30 minutes. The residual heat from the cast iron continued to cook the rice with no sticking and the handle wasn't so hot to touch.

I wish they had an option to choose a lid with or without a hole. That's why only 4 stars.

I now have just several Le Creuset cookware items and probably won't buy any more -I have all that I need. It isn't necessary to buy 15, 20 or 30 piece sets and figure out where to store them all.

Although the initial cost is much higher, the cost/year is much lower and they'll never ever wind up in the landfill. Buy one at a time as you can afford them or as gifts. Even though I'mfussy to a fault, I haven't returned any Le Creuset cookware.I love them.

I have a new induction cooktop and needed the appropriate cookware for it.I initially went with a cheaper set and wasn't happy with the clean up.I ordered this one piece of Le Creuset to see how I would like it.I LOVE this piece for several reasons.1) It works really well on my cooktop and I can keep the setting low2) This particular pan is a great saucepan but because of its wide base, it makes a great skillet (almost 10 inches)3) Clean up is a breeze4) Love the color!

Le Creuset makes the best pans, period.

We have large and small stockpots, a large fryer and now this sauce pan (saucier).

The one I use most is the saucier.

It's easy to clean (virtually nonstick), heats evenly, and will last forever.

And it looks great, going from stove or oven to table.

Yes, it is expensive. But it will be the last one you buy.

Obviously, Le Creuset stuff is beautiful and sure to impress your fellow kitchen snobs. But does it cook well?My wife and I have given this pan a good workout, and are very pleased with the results.Heat is distributed and retained beautifully, and you get the benefits of cast-iron cookware without the hassle of seasoning (and rusting when you accidentally leave some moisture on the pan).Cleanup is a breeze with this pan, as well.Yes, you will pay more for this pan -but it is well worth the money if you are serious about cooking. There is a reason why top chefs swear by Le Creuset. And if you are just starting out buying cookware, it's pointless to waste money on inferior cookware that you will just have to replace a few years later -make the investment now, and it will pay off in the long run.

I'm turning into quite the fan for Le Creuset cookware this is the second piece I have, and it's fantastic. I use it for oatmeal and for rissoto. It is much easier to control the heat in it than any other pan, so I rarely burn things now. It is amazingly easy to clean. The only down side is that it is heavy (being cast iron) and I have to use 2 hands to pour from it.
