Deni 8340 Stainless Steel Electric Skillet, 12 in x 14.5 inch

Deni 8340 Stainless Steel Electric Skillet, 12 in x 14.5 inchThis Deni electric skillet is large enough to fry a whole chicken, and is non stick. We like using it to save energy and keep the kitchen cool during the Summer. It also means no stove or cook top to clean, which is a real plus! Portable, too, to take that hot dish to the pot luck, and keep it hot! But compare to it the new RECTANGLE electric skillet: West Bend 72215 12-by-15-Inch Extra-Deep Skillet which is our favorite. The West Bend has even higher sides (3 inches) and is easier to use because it is not ROUND, but long it measures 15 inches in length. We even bake an excellent lasagne in the West Bend because the lasagne noodles fit exactly! So we actually bought BOTH of these, but if forced to choose, the West Bend is a much better price and seems to be more useful.

I received this electric skillet as a gift. I am very pleased with it.I like the size (12 in x 14 in) and the shape of the skillet

(not round).Even when I prepare a "one person" meal, I do not find the skillet too large.I would not want a smaller skillet.I also like the vented see through glass lid better than a metal lid. I have not had trouble with "hotspots" due to the skillet's heating element.I rate this product as a five-star item.SC

I bought this skillet by mistake. I was going to send it back, but our daughter said she would like to have it. We gave it to her and she really likes it. Our grandson wanted one, so we ordered one for him too. We wanted one that was stainless steel inside and out.

I checked out a lot of electric skillet before decieding on this one and I'm so happy I chose it.The description is exactly what this skillet delivers. The temperature dial lets you choose any setting in between the printed degrees. It heats quickly and there are no hot/cool spots. There is no light to tell you if the unit is on or off, but there is a soft hum while it is heating. When the set temperature is reached, the hum stops. The temperature guage is a plug it easy to install and remove.Cleaning is a breeze: wipe with a paper towel or clean with soapy water and a cloth.Nice size: stores easily.

ManPans Fry Pan Skillet

Manpans 10-Inch Fry Pan Skillet Made in the USA, Eco Friendlynot non stick. nothing about these pans is non stick. no non stick coating. I can not believe the other reviewer would even state such a thing... you need to use oils and still everything sticks!I purchased these pans over a year ago and in my opinion, overpriced and really unhappy with pans. when I contacted the company, The company didn't care that their claims did not hold up. pans were not flat surfaced at all. would not work on my flat top stove so I actually went out and purchased a new stove. The pans looked like crap within 30 days. then my dishsoap which is grapefruit base, actually ruined the surface of the pan. I used to have a review on amazon stating ALL my grievances about these pans including detailed photos but it looks like the company pulled the entire listing off the web and relisted the product again without my review. The only other review on here for these pans looks pretty fishy to me. regular amazon reviewers are sure to notice the usual tricks that appear to be from someone who possibly is affiliated with the company. It still ticks me off that this company didn't care one iota that their claims of flat pans were untrue. If anyone wants to stick their neck out on these pans and a company who didn't care, I've got an entire set of really crappy looking pans that I can sell for way too much money and all your food will stick.

Like most customers, I researched my pans and decided on ManPans because of all the great features: PTFE free, non-toxic, non-stick (as best as possible). I purchased a 12" and 10" pan back a while back in 2012 to add to my stainless steel collection hoping these would be much easier to cook with and clean. I started my ManPan cooking test with my 12" frying pan starting with eggs.

It worked as advertised for the first few eggs, then after a while the right side of the pan started sticking in an unusual manner. The left part retained most of the anti-stick properties. I e-mailed support and continued to follow directions: oil the pan, use lower heat settings, use a metal spatula, etc. I followed their directions and the pan suffered. I cooked several eggs throughout the week and noticed a pattern of stickiness in the pan and took several pictures that revealed a section of the pan that lost its non-stick ability.

I e-mailed all the pictures to warranty and they sent a replacement pan free of charge citing that the manual coating of the pan was unusually worn. Okay, I get a new pan to start again. After repeated cooking the same thing happened...and get this...in the very same right side of the pan. What a disappointment. After a few weeks the issue remained.

This pan sounded too good to be true and it is. I'm sure mileage may vary by users, but my mileage on these pans were short lived. I love the lightweight design and the handle. Otherwise, not a spectacular pan. I still use my stainless steels.

Woll Diamond Plus 11-Inch Square Fry Pan

Woll Diamond Plus 11-Inch Square Fry PanI purchase this product based on reviews.I wanted a even heating pan that did not warp.I received on a Friday and used it on Sunday morning breakfast.I noticed that the handle was a little loose, but not excessive. One other thing that stood out was that the handle was not riveted but attached with a screw.I found that odd for a pan in this price range.

After using it once I picked it up for cleaning, after sufficient cooling time. The handle cracked, a large chunck came off.It was not mishandled in any way.

If not for the handle I would have raved about the cooking characteristics.I don't know if I want to try another one or not and just consider this an odd occurence. The packaging was not very good and could have contributed to this failure.

De Buyer Country Fry Pan, Blue Steel

De Buyer Country Fry Pan, Blue Steel - 24 CmThe DeBuyer 11" country fry pan is the perfect size for my family and is really heavy-duty.It's not too big to move around or fit in my oven, but it's big enough to cook a whole meal without spilling over the sides.Photos make it difficult to know how deep any of the pans are or how far out they flare. This is a similar size to a dutch oven, butthe flat bottom is slightly smaller and the top diameter is slightly larger. So it's like a dutch oven that is more tapered, and no lid.Perfect for meals that need frying or searing. It requires seasoning like all carbon steel, but is worth the effort. There are many reviews or posts online how to season a pan, but some leave the surface unevenly treated, sticky or peeling.Like finishing fine furniture, many thin coats are better than a couple thick coats. The best method I've found is simple but may require a couple days.I found the directions online, printed for personal use, and now don't remember where I found it. First remove the protective coating according to DeBuyer's enclosed directions by boiling potato peelings and washing. Then you need to get a thin layer of oil hot enough for long enough to cause a chemical reaction that binds it to the metal.Because it's a different purpose than cooking and eating the oil, choose an oil with a low smoke point that hardens the most. Some research claims that flax oil achieves the hardest finish. But that may have seed particles, so if you use flax oil, pour a small amount in the center of a paper towel and fold it over itself so seeds don't bake into your smooth surface. Begin by heating the pan in a 200'F oven for 10 minutes to be sure it's bone dry and to open the pores a little. Then put it on a paper towel, pour a little oil on it, and rub the oil all over the pan, making sure to get into every nook and cranny inside and out.Now rub it all off until it looks like there is nothing left on the surface. There actually is oil left on the surface, it's just very thin. Put the pan upside down in a cold oven. Most instructions say to put aluminum foil under it to catch any drips, but if your oil coating is as thin as it should be, there won't be any drips.Turn the oven to 500'F (or as high as your oven goes) and let the pan preheat with the oven. When it reaches temperature, then set the timer for an hour. After an hour, turn off the oven but do not open the oven door. Let it cool off with the pan inside for two hours, at which point it's cool enough to handle. The pan will come out of the oven a little darker, but matte in texture not the semi-gloss you're aiming for. It needs at least six coats. If you feel any rough spots, you can lightly buff it.Again rub on the oil, wipe it off, put it in the cold oven, let it preheat, bake for an hour, and let it cool in the oven for two hours.Repeat several times. At that point it starts to develop a bit of a sheen and the pan is ready for use.Don't be tempted to use a thicker coat of oil to speed up the process. It just gets you an uneven surface or worse, baked on drips. You can't speed up the process. It only requires a little attention from you every 3 hours, so be patient and do other things. This patience with thin coats results in an ultra-smooth and hard non-stick surface that lasts many years with minimal care. There's only one small problem I had. With the pan upside down in my oven, the handle pushed against the oven rack and became etched. So I recommend covering the handle with foil during seasoning. With it's super-smooth surface and large size, this has become my favorite pan.

From the product description "Note: Blue steel pans can be used only with induction."

This is not true. Blue steel, like any carbon steel pan, can be used on ANY cooking surface. I think it was supposed to read CAN BE used on induction, since most cookware cannot.

Gourmet Chef Professional Heavy Duty Induction Non Stick Fry Pan Set

Gourmet Chef Professional Heavy Duty Induction Non Stick Fry Pan SetI recently purchased an induction stove. I love it. But am having trouble buying cookware that is reasonably priced, and will still work on induction stove. I love these skillets. They are heavy duty, non-stick, magnetic (requirement for induction cooking), and still fairly reasonaly priced. The three sizes are great. I highly recommend this purchase.

First set ordered arrived bent.Company quickly replaced with another set.Note that both shipments were sent in a cardboard box with NO PACKING MATERIAL.They were each in their own plastic bag, stacked on one another, and shipped.

Tried them on my Electrolux induction cook top.Two of three created fault (no metal/insufficient metal content) warnings.Only the smallest fry pan worked, but it had to be on the highest setting. In short--DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THESE!Not sure what products the other reviewers were sent, but the ones I was sent are not usable on an induction cook top.

Contacted the company to obtain a refund. Was told I had to put them back in box with as much original shipping material as possible (which as noted was none), and send it back viable traceable shipping (more expensive) to them to be refunded the purchase price (not the shipping cost). Thus, it would cost me about $25 to get my refund on a $40 order. So I would get back $15???Not a bargain nor acceptable by any stretch of the imagination.

DO NOT PURCHASE THESE

A little disappointed in that they don't all work on our induction cook top. They are hefty but are very disappointing in that the bottoms are bellied and all your oil runs to the outside. We gave them away.

I bought these for use on my induction cookware plate.I am fairly pleased with the set. They work on the plate quite well, and I've had no issues with them in that regard. The only reason I am downgrading it by 1 star is because the non-stick surface on my biggest pan is already starting to wear (not flake off but lose its non-stick effectiveness).Granted, I use this pan a lot (almost daily), but I would have expected it to last a bit longer than it has.

T-fal C798SC64 Ultimate Stainless Steel Copper-Bottom Multi-Layer Base 12-Piece Cookware Set, Silver

T-fal C798SC64 Ultimate Stainless Steel Copper-Bottom Multi-Layer Base 12-Piece Cookware Set, SilverWhen we noticed our non-stick pans were losing their non-stick (into ours and our childrens food) we decided it was time to look at the alternative to teflon and non-stick coating. We waffled over whether to go cast iron or stainless. I was worried about cooking with stainless because of the sticking issue but decided to bite the bullet and went ahead and purchased these. I have to say, we LOVE them! My husband is able to make the most amazing omelettes without leaving half of it behind. I haven't had much trouble with sticking at all. Scrambled eggs and hash browns seem to be the worst so far and with 15 mins of soaking the pans in water I am able to just scrub them clean with my nylon scrubby sponge. They are tough and durable and seem to put up with alot of use. We aren't occasional cookers, as a family of five these pots and pans get used daily. The price is right but dont let it fool you! Can't say enough.

I did a bunch of research before buying new pots and pans. The reviews I read on this set made me believe that it was the best value for the money. The set arrived in beautiful condition and has remained that way with a good hand washing and drying.

The negatives I saw in the reviews here were that things were sticking and the handles got hot. I have not had a problem with either. In my opinion and from my experience the people who had food stick to the pans need to alter their cooking methods. Non-stick cookware, aside from not lasting very long and being dangerous to your health, has removed oils and butter from many peoples recipies. As for the handles getting hot, you need to use a burner that is equal to or smaller in size than the bottom of the cookware. I use the proper size burners and even when cooking at high temperatures my handles stay cool to the touch.

Hopefully this helps.

I've been wanting to switch to stainless for a while now and at this price I decided to go for it.I was actually concerned about the price being so low as I couldn't imagine a really quality set being priced around $100.After receiving the set and cooking with it, I can't believe how nice it is.They're amazing! The pieces are beautiful, very thick and very sturdy. The polish is gorgeous and cooking with them is a dream come true.

Like a lot of people, I had some concerns about cooking with stainless. So, previous to getting the set, I did a little research to make sure I knew what I was doing when I started.I'd like to share some of those tips here to help anyone that might be having a difficult time or shared my concerns. Here goes:

1. Never use High heat unless you are boiling water! Stainless conducts heat amazingly and medium to medium/high heat it the equivalent of using High with other pots and pans.

2. Always warm the pan first before adding oil or butter. It just takes a few seconds. When you can feel the heat coming off the pan, its ready for your oil or butter.

3. Eggs!Eggs were my biggest concern.I think everyone at some point has tried to cook eggs in stainless and ended up with some sort of catastrophe. There is an easy solution to making PERFECT eggs, scrambled or not. Here it is.Set your eggs, in the shell, in a bowl of warm water while the pan is warming.Cold eggs stick! They only need a minute or so in warm water.Once the pan is warm and the butter is melted, the now warm eggs can be added and they will slide around super easy, flip with no sticking! On top of that, the eggs come out perfect.I don't know if it's the even heat or what but try it, you'll see. I've caught myself (twice) cooking eggs I don't even want just because cooking them, in these pans, is mind blowing. I know that sounds ridiculous but having been really worried about being able to cook eggs in these and to have it be so easy is a big deal. I feel like a pro!

Anyhow, I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy these as much as me. These pots rock. Get some.

I decided it was time to upgrade our 35 year old Revere Wear.It was still good stuff, and the newlywed niece who now has it loves it, but I've been getting more into cooking lately and the Revere Wear was ... limiting. These pans are incredible!!The first thing we had to get used to was using them at a much lower heat setting on our electric stove. They spread the heat evenly and do the same job at "4" as the old pans did at "8".We have never had anything stick to them. They're not coated, they're not anti-stick, but they don't grab the food, even when I'm cooking up 5 quarts of chili and let it simmer (at "1", no less!!) for a few hours.Stir every half hour or so, and nothing sticks!! (The in-laws came out to visit, and Mom couldn't cook with them because they were so much better than anything she's ever used. She's always been the "turn it to high and let it boil 'til it's mush" type of cook anyway, but it was fun watching my wife trying to teach her how to use low heat!! :))

Some say that they're a beast to keep in showroom condition.Well, I don't hang them on the wall, I take them out of the cupboard and put 'em on the stove and use 'em like they were intended. If they start to look a little dull, Bar Keeper's Friend and a paper towel does wonders, or an SOS pad, either one.No elbow grease needed they clean up to a nice shine with no fuss at all. They are far easier to wash than our old pans were.A swish of the rag and they're done.

I got the full set plus a few additional pieces.I've done everything so far from soup to chili to sauces and puddings.I've fried, brased, deep fried, roasted and used them on the stove top and in the oven.I love the see-through lids!!They've opened up a whole new capability to me.I've never before been able to see what was happening without lifting the lid.

They'll do an omelet over a slow heat and it slides right out of the pan like you're a pro or something.Bobby Flay I'm not, but these let me think I am if I try hard enough!!

I looked at a lot of sets until I settled on these as the best bang for the buck. They are well worth the price!!I love 'em!!

West Bend 6111 Heart Smart Indoor Grill, Black

West Bend 6111 Heart Smart Indoor Grill, BlackI have used this grill with great pleasure. It's large enough to hold enough food for 4 servings, plus the griddle comes in handy for toasting buns and such. I haven't had it smoke at all. It grills just like outdoors, including the grill marks. And I can have something grilled and on the table fast. No one has to go out on the deck to cook. It's all done on the countertop. I can't say enough good things about this grill. Cleanup is easy and fast, two of my favorite words in the kitchen. I did a lot of research and reading reviews before making this purchase. I believe I found the best of the indoor grills out there.

I returned the Delonghi BG24 to buy this as they are almost identical but this one is a much better price. As a matter of fact, they are so similar they are probably manufactured by the same company.

There are only 2 differences:

* this one includes a skillet area on the grill plate, so smaller grilling area but you have a side part to grill onions or bacon for your burgers... the drip pan, base and lid are exactly the same

* this one states the grill piece is dishwasher safe, though the grill piece on the BG24 is almost the same, they state it is not dishwasher safe probably is though

It probably uses a lot of electricity, and does not have a true BBQ taste but it works well.I scrub the gril with a teflon safe sponge while on the base with drip pan still in place and then stick it in the diswasher.I don't even put the drip pan in diswasher b/c it is so easy to clean my hand , especially when coated with water.

This is a pretty big unit I'd actually prefer something smaller as I live by myself in a small nyc apt.

I bought this grill used off Amazon. I had been looking for some way to grill inside away from the stove. As an apartment dweller, I haven't had a real outside 'grill' area in a long time and I missed the taste a grill adds to hamburgers and hot dogs, not to mention the ease of grilling a steak. So I bought this one.

The best points of this grill is that you can put everything except the plastic stand in the dishwasher! So clean up is outstanding! You plug it all in like an electric fry pan, set the tempurature and when the light go off the food goes on. You get the lovely grill marks, the spaces on the grill allow the 'fat' to fall through but aren't wide enough to loose a hotdog (as on an outside grill). I have cooked hot dogs, hamburgers, Chicken, steaks, bacon and eggs (there is a flat area on one side). So far it has been a joy. It held a whole cut up chicken at one time!

The only downs are storage, I am in a small apartment and I have had to dedicate a portion of my counter to this appliance, but I end up using it a lot more than I would if I had a place to put it away. And the lid is almost flat. When I grill anything with hieght, like say BBQ chicken, the lid rests on the meat at an angle. I have tried tenting with foil but you loose the ability to see the food grilling.

I haven't tried any other indoor grills, other than the george foreman stuff and I like this west bend so much more than any of those!

After reading the many raving reviews, I was pumped up over the purchase of this grill. I'm pretty much a carnivore and eat a lot of meat. I recently bought a West Bend rotisserie oven and it works great, and I've been using it a lot, so I went with the West Bend brand again.

But I just returned the second unit (I returned the first one for an exchange) after a miserable experience of 50 minutes on High with a couple of brats, and they weren't very well done. Forget about ever searing a steak, or even fast cooking it at medium high. Maybe I got 2 defective units in a row, but I'm done with this West Bend 'grill'. Those that like a nice hot grill be forewarned.

Norpro Cast Iron Pig Bacon Grill Press

Norpro Cast Iron Pig Bacon Grill PressJust had a chance to try out the bacon press tonight for BLT's--it works great!

We love our bacon nice and crisp, and this little press does the job great and seems to speed up cooking time (perhaps because the cast iron "holds in the heat" while the bacon fries?).

Bacon was crisp and delicious; the press prevents bacon curling and relieves you of the neverending task of flipping bacon over and over and over again when cooked conventionally.

This press is a great addition to my kitchen; only gave it 4 stars, simply because it isn't quite as heavy as I would like, although it still performs well.

Just make sure you season it before first use (directions in the box---just oil the press, oil a frying pan, then heat both together on VERY low heat for 20 minutes.

Allow to cool and wipe excess oil off press). But don't use it with nonstick pans!

This litle pig has it all. Right size. Well constructed. Fun to own and does the job right.

I bought this bacon press from Williams Sonoma and be warned--the screw holding the wooden handle on rusted out.The handle will not stay attached to the screw which makes the press pretty much useless. We followed the exact cleaning instructions to keep it from rusting, but it happened anyway. While this is a great looking product and worked well for a little while, it is now trash.

This item really helps create crispy bacon that's super flat, which I love. I'm not sure for certain, but I could swear it's also cut down the cooking time, which is also a plus. The only downside is that it's a little difficult to store after usage. Since it's cast iron, it can't be, or shouldn't, be cleaned, but only wiped down. This leaves the item greasy, which is fine if you have a place to keep it that doesn't get other things greasy at the same time. I've taken to putting in a Tupperware, which I don't really like, but it works. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product! Oh, and it's a totally cute pig!

Hecuk 33036 Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Fajita Pan with Wooden Base

Hecuk 33036 Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Fajita Pan with Wooden BaseI dislike ordering sizzling Fajitas at a restaurant when they come out not sizzleing. I decided to order two of these pans and make my own. I use one for beef and one for chicken. I prepare the peppers and onions in a seperate pan and place them in the oven to keep hot. Meanwhile, I place the iron pans in the oven, top shelf under low broil, just to get the pans nice and hot. I prepare the meat. Once I am ready, I test the pans with a drip of water to see if they sizzle. At that point, I remove the pans, use a light spray of Pam on each and place the meat, chicken, peppers and onions on each pan and serve "sizzleing" right away. They taste better then the restaurant because they are prepared with TLC. You can make up your own sauce or use the packets. I use Baja Chipotle by Lawry'sServe with all the usual fixings.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 6-1/3-Inch Skillets

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 6-1/3-Inch Skillet with Iron Handle, CherryIt's important what kind of fat/oil you use when cooking eggs in this pan!

I also had a bad experience cooking eggs in this pan when I first got it. What I found is that you need to use low heat and butter (or butter like substitute). Its possible other oils might work, but I've had nothing but success when I use low/medium heat, a pat of butter and two eggs in the pan. They come out great every time now! I ended up buying the 10 and 11 3/4 inch pans :).

So here's a few handy tips:

1) Use low/medium heat

2) Wait for the pan to heat up (watch your oil to get an idea of when to put your food in)

3) Use the right fat/oils for the type of food you are cooking

Hope this helps others.

I have purchased quite a few products from both Le Creuset and Lodge and this one definitely serves a purpose. I came from a large family and was used to cooking in very large quantities so at one time I probably would have assumed this skillet had no place in a decent kitchen. How wrong I would have been. As already stated by others, it's perfect for sauteing garlic, onion, butter, small amounts of vegetables, or for cooking individual personal omelettes or one or two eggs. It's easy to use and very easy to clean. Heat is distributed evenly so food cooks well regardless of where it is in the skillet. One thing I cook regularly is an egg white omelette. It's quick and easy to make, slides out of the pan onto my plate, and once the pan cools, clean up is a breeze.

One reviewer noted that she finds this pan to be stickier than regular cast iron. I was surprised to hear that was someone's experience. I own all different types of cast iron products and the plain cast iron is without a doubt the most time consuming in terms of cleaning and care. Whether I use olive oil or a spray product, I have had no problem with food sticking whatsoever with this product and find that the pan is very easy to use and clean. It looks like new after each usage and I use it quite often. I do hand wash this skillet, not because I'm afraid to put it in the dishwasher, but because it is so easy to clean. I highly recommend this product without hesitation.

This skillet is perfection for two eggs or a small omlette.

I would say, however, I use it most offten for sauces and reductions. Normally, it's just my husband and I, so it's nice to make a small amount of these things at a time.

I love how quickly and evenly it heats. These types of pans have taught me to cook with my burners on much lower temperature because they hold heat so well. Le Creuset makes clearly superior quality products and I love using them in my kitchen.

I read tons and tons of reviews.I don't write as many as I should. This pan is a solid well performing pan except for the reason I bought it.I bought it to replace a nonstick skillet I use to cook eggs.I really want to find a safe alternative to the traditional nonstick (toxic at high temps) surface.I love Le Creuset except the eggs stick even using oil and all the other ideas here in the reviews.I hate cleaning it too.I have 2 small children and the time it takes to clean/soak this pan after an egg breakie my 2 year will dismantle the coffee maker. So I will use this pan but not for eggs.

Want Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 6-1/3-Inch Skillets Discount?

Iuse all of my Le Creuset skillets for eggs and everything else. With my first skillet purchase many years ago the Manager at the Le Creuset outlet in GA explained that it is important to heat the skillet on low to medium heat for eggs. Basically, if the pan is too hot, eggs will stick. I think this temperature thing could be the difference between my experience and what others are seeing. After all, cast iron gets hot enough to cook eggs at just about any heat setting so there's no need for high temperatures. One only needs more patience enough to wait until the pan reaches the correct temperature (rather than turning up the heat to rush the process).Another piece of advice is to try a bit of coconut oil. I have read in other posts that coconut oil makes cast iron perform like non stick skillets. For those with sticking problems please try the slower heat up with a bit of any oil and let us all know if you see any improvement.I'm not making it up I have zero problems with eggs and Le Creuset skillets

Charcoal Companion Cast Iron 7-Inch Diameter Grill Press, Round

Charcoal Companion Cast Iron 7-Inch Diameter Grill Press, RoundA great cooking tool!

I bought the Charcoal Companion to use as a press to make paninis in my 7-inch cast iron, ridged, grill pan. Theridged, heavy-weight size, press had been dificult to find to fit my small skillet, so Iwas excited to try it when it arrived!I decided to make a paninii of left over chicken that day.Much to my surprise, it would not make the brownedridges I desired but only squashed the panini.I thought about it and realized the grill press was not hot when it contacted the bread.I have an induction cooktop so decided to see if it would heat the ridged press. It did!I put the grill press on one burner, heated my ridged cast iron pan on another burner. When I decided the temperature was right(I heated on No. 7 on my cooktop) I placed the panini in my skillet, then placed the grill on top.Viola! It produced a perfect ridged panini.

I did brush the grill press with oilive oil before placing on my burner, the same as I did my cast iron skillet.I lightly buttered both outsides of my sandwich. This gave a me an authentic panini.

I do not use regular white or wheat bread.I use french, baguette or aritisan bread from my supermarke I slice myself.I don' think regular sliced bread would hold up to this procedure.

this is a good product. I use it 2 3 time a week. I would buy a larger one from the same company

Have used it consistently with my cast iron pan and my induction cookware (which I also bought from Amazon).Needs to be heated separately, though meaning if you have induction cookware, be prepared to heat the grill press on its own first.Once heated, it can be applied to the meat and it will sear it nicely.Recommend it, but with a caveat:Needs to be heated on its own first.

Excellent time saver, Helps speed up cooking when used on bacon and burgers. The price is right for this Grill press. Works with induction stove tops as well, just be careful not to burn yourself as the wooden handle stays cool but the exposed metal ends get VERY hot.

I purchased this along with a different press to use making bacon on an oblong antique cast iron griddle. My family initially thought this was kind of a goofy, frivolous purchase but they have been amazed at how much better the bacon is using this.It makes it nice and flat and more uniformly cooks it without as many "rare" fat spots. If you prefer the rare spots you simply would cook the bacon for a shorter time.I think it shortens cooking time somewhat by holding heat on the top of the meat. The bottom of this is cast with ridges about 3/16" tall, spaced about 5/8" apart.I've discovered that this makes it great for doing tube meat like hot dogs and sausages. You can use the press to cook along the whole length all the way around by placing the meat parallel to and between the ridges.I've also used it for frying cornbread and get a much more uniform cooking of it than I used to.I've only had it now for a few weeks but I'm sure I'll think of many more uses for it.There are other presses that weigh more but the weight of this has proven sufficient for any use to which I have put it.The seasoning appears to be good as so far I've had no issues with it sticking. The casting is of good quality with a pretty smooth surface and no flaws.

The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating is that you have to be careful with the ends of the handle. The wood handle is long enough to easily handle the hot press, safely avoiding the posts to which it is mounted. However a few times while holding the press to adjust my meat my hand has come in contact with the top of the posts (the handle is mounted between them). The press hasn't been hot enough to create a burn on my hand but it's an uncomfortable moment nonetheless.I usually just wipe my cast iron cooking tools with a paper towel between uses so haven't tried washing this. The ridges might create a bit of a challenge but I can't think of why you might get food stuck to the bottom to necessitate this.Regardless I think this slight risk is worth the extra utility of having the ridges.I looked at a number of these but was restricted in size by the flat area of the griddle.I was concerned that this wouldn't cover all my bacon but before my other press arrived I used only this one switching it from end to end. With bacon this worked about as well as having 2 presses.

Brylanehome Non-Stick Pfoa-Free Electric SkilletThis is a great size for a family of 2.Cooks evenly.I love the color and the glass lid.

Very attractive for a utilitarian cooking utensil. It heats more evenly than my previous skillet, but still did have a little unevenness in its cooking surface temperature.

All Clad 9 Inch Stainless Steel French Skillet and 7.5 Inch Non Stick French Skillet Set

All Clad 9 Inch Stainless Steel French Skillet and 7.5 Inch Non Stick French Skillet SetNo....these pans perform as well as all of all clad's products. While I don't expect the non stick to last forever, as no non stick has been able to withstand the test of long periods of time, these little pans will be used again and again.

This is my first All Clad purchase & it won't be my last. The pans are everything they are said to be; a joy to cook with. The weight of the pans & the position of the handle gives me the feel of using a finely designed tool. Cooking omelets are such a pleasure in the non stick pan that I'm sure I am eating more eggs! Clean up is a breeze, a quick swipe with a soapy sponge is all that is needed. My only complaint is that the steel skillet came with a nick along the edge. It doesn't affect performance at all but is noticeable. I'm guessing that is why the great sale price. All in all this product still deserves 5 stars in my opinion.

Been wanting to buy All-Clad frying pans for awhile now and finally got a good Christmas discount here at Amazon.com. The

whole buying and shipping process is always a breeze here I hardly shop anywhere else online now. I got this two pan set as

well as the 10-inch and 12-inch frying pans with lids.

These smaller frying pans are the same quality as the bigger ones but much more convenient for cooking smaller meals or

portions. They are wonderful for grilling sandwiches ... when browning potatos, they turn out even and crisp, not soggy like

a lot of non-stick pans. Cleanup is easy as long as you keep the heat down ... don't worry, the food will get done. Be

patient!

I'm so tired of babying cheap (and not-so-cheap) non-stick pans and still having to replace them every year or so and

getting mediocre results even in the best of times. These All-Clad steel pans should last forever and we'll see how long the

non-stick one lasts.

It is a light lid but seems strong, so I have no complaints.Lids for 14-16 inch pans are usually so pricey, so I was delighted to find this affordable option. It fits my nice Cuisinart 722-36H Chef's Classic Stainless 14-Inch Open Skillet with Helper Handle perfectly, with just a little room to spare.
