All Clad Stainless Steel French Skillet with Domed Lid

All Clad Stainless Steel 11-Inch French Skillet with Domed LidTHis pan is in use almost daily. It is a perfect size for anything you want to rustle up.It is great as a saute pan, and the domed lid means you can cook with the pan brimful!I love it!

I didn't actually buy my skillet through AmazonI had gift cards for a department store and bought their overpriced skilletit's less expensive on Amazon.

I used it for the first time last night and was kind of worried. Some reviewers new to stainless steel complained bitterly of sticking and burning and warping. So I read up a bit on how high you should heat the pan and the water drop test and when to put in the food before I finally got up the courage to cook with it last night.I made hashed brussel sprouts and then wilted spinach. The brussel sprouts were going to stick, I thought, until I added the splash of vermouth the recipe calls for and it all bubbled up and off the surface, making lovely browned bits and wilting the sprouts just right. When they were cooked, I didn't even wash up firstI emptied the sprouts and with a little water, went right to work wilting the spinach. It all came out so perfectly I couldn't wait to write a product review. I now have this skillet and the soup/rice pot and I'm looking forward to collecting more All Clad pieces. LOVE this product and the cooking experience!

This beautiful pan is just the right weight and shape, heats evenly, cleans up nicely, is made in the US and has a nice, long, sturdy handle. What more could you ask for? You could ask for a perfectly beautiful, nicely weighted, snugly fitted lid. It's got that too.

I still use the cast iron pan and love that as well. Iron remembers but steel forgives. This is a great pan for anything you want to flip, you'd break your wrist with the iron pan, and the curved sides are just right for flipping the stuff back into the pan and not all over your stove.

Try sautéing chicken breasts in a little olive oil, throw in some sliced carrots, fennel and beets put the lid on for a few minutes. Flip the vegetables around now and then, finally add some chopped scallions and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Deglaze the pan with some wine for a nice sauce. Tough job in iron and lots of fun in this steel pan.

You will need to be generous with Bar Keepers Friend to keep it shining.

Kitchen Basics 12" Skillet

Kitchen Basics 12' SkilletNot a 12 inch pan as labled. Inside diameter of frying pan actually measures 11 inches. Outside edges of pan diameter measures 11 3/8in. Lid measures 11 1/2 inches. Personally, I need every bit of 12 inches in a pan. Nice looking pan though. Seems durable.

Cuisinart Contour Hard Anodized Open Skillet

Cuisinart 6422-30H Contour Hard Anodized 12-Inch Open Skillet with Helper HandleThe product is excellent and I highly recommend, however the description implies that the 10" and 8" come with a glass lid which I did not receive. The Skillet is still worth the price alone, therefore I will be keeping it. Four stars for misrepresentation.

I was surprised at how well and sturdy this pan is made and how easy it is to cook on.Things don't stick and the sides are steeper than a regular pan so it allows you to put more food in than that average 8" pan.Great for a single meal, frittata, pancakes. One perk is you can stick in under the broiler.A lot of pans aren't broiler safe like this one (says on the package). The only drawback is it does not have a lid and I can't find an 8" lid anywhere.I'm going to check out the salvation army for an oddball lid size.

Le Creuset 26CM Round Grill Cerise

Le Creuset 26CM Round Grill CeriseAt the time I'm writing this, there are three reviews already.

One says it heats up quickly on medium or low heat. Um, no, it heats up pretty slowly, because it's a massive hunk of steel. Only 10 inches though, so you can't fit two T-bones on it, but it fits anywhere. The mass of this grill helps achieve outdoor BBQ style. It's a grill, not a griddle or frypan, so using it on medium heat is counterproductive. Throw it on a High flame for a few minutes before you try to cook. Yes, it will smoke. But you're trying to cook, not worry about air quality!

Another review says things stuck to it because it was not coated. Yes, it is. But things still stick to it because the cast iron surface under the coating was evidently pretty coarse. Oh, well. You don't scrub it with a sponge, you heat it up and plunge it under running water and the "deglazing" will lift off most of the gunk. Give it a scrub with a brush (no soap) and return it to the heat to dry. Total time about 45 seconds.

The third review said that fish stuck to it. This is possible. They used nonstick spray, which isn't all that ideal with nonstick or cast iron surfaces. But mostly I suspect the grill wasn't hot enough.

I, however, did ribeye steaks last night and they were perfect. Look on foodtv.com for Alton Brown's method and follow that. It's great. But remember: HOT!

This is the first grill pan I have had that has not warped after the first use.The thin ridges leave a nice looking sear mark on the food and the valleys between are deep enough to allow the oils to run off so you are grilling and not frying. It is a fairly easy pan to clean and it looks great too boot. The one down side: it is a bit on the small side.A tad expensive but it is worth the cost.

I purchased this item as a "bonus offer" to another Le Creuset item I purchased, even though I didn't think I'd get much use out of it since I already had the Le Creuset double burner grill.Turns out though, I use this little grill more often than my larger grill, or any of my other Le Creuset pieces. It's the perfect size for grilling up a couple of chicken breasts, salmon fillets, or steaks when I'm cooking for just my husband and myself.I can also grill up to four burgers on it.Just like my larger grill, I love the cooking results I get from using this little grill, but it's especially handy when I need access to my other burners on my stovetop. It's also much easier to clean than the double burner grill.

If you are just starting your Le Creuset collection, this is a definite "must have" item to your kitchen. And especially at the price Amazon.com is offering it, you can't go wrong!

I purchased this grill because it showed up in my daily "Gold Box" at a reasonable price.Inasmuch as I am an incurable meat eater, I grill a lot of hamburgers and steaks. As it's inefficient to fire up a charcoal grill for one little steak or hamburger (I don't think gas grills have the flavor), the skinny grill seemed a good idea.I usually just pan fry in either my dad's old cast iron pan or my copper bottom Revere Ware pan.Because I buy New York strip steaks and burgers with the lowest fat content possible, I have never had much of a problem with fat in either of my regular pans. But now, so I reasoned, I CAN HAVE SEAR MARKS!Not worth the thought; although I did not turn my electric coils up to high or anywhere near high, it seemed that the enamel on the bottom of the grill wanted to cook faster than the meat in the pan. (The enamel is still on my coils and it has been several weeks since I last used the skinny grill.) Further, in my opinion, the little handles on either side of the pan look nice, but were hard to grip when holding hot pads because they are TOO little. (With an electric cooktop, one obviously has to move the pan immediately upon completion of cooking.)As for the smoking pan, I did think that there was more smoke with this grill than with my usual pan but that was not my major complaint. If you like a steak that is "seared and rare" I don't think this pan is for you. You will end up with a seared and melted enameled grill.I did return the grill and, thanks to Amazon, it was received without question and no UPS return charges were applied to my credit.

I bought this for quick grilling. For cast iron, the weight is fairly light and it is very managable in the kitchen. It was a bit sticky on the first use, but it has improved tremendously with use.I don't find it necessary to use the highest flame on my stove to get this hot.I am using closer to a medium flame, so I do wait a couple of minutes or so for the pan to come to temperature.I have no problem with getting the grill marks on the food.I used to own an electric Jenn Aire stove, and the grill on it was always wimpy. This little pan beats the old grill completely.I am very happy with this addition to my kitchen.

Mauviel M'steel Frying Pan, 11-Inch

Mauviel M'steel Frying Pan, 11-InchI had high hopes for this pan, having loved my cast iron pans but hoping for something with more even heat transfer and heft. The pan came very heavily wrapped (bubble wrapped inside paper inside a box that was inside a box cushioned by paper). There was a thick coating of beeswax on the pan and instructions on heating it with oil for five minutes, cooling, removing oil, and repeating. The paper wrapping also said to go to the Mauviel website for care information.I went to their website, and there is no mention of care information or of this product line in any way so I followed the provided curing instructions to the letter, absent any other support. The whole process (carefully washing off the beeswax then heating with for five minutes, cooling, repeating) took about 30 minutes. After filling my kitchen with acrid oil smoke and taking all that time, the pan looks like hell bumpy, tacky black residue in the center of the pan (the bottom is not flat so the oil pooled in the center) and the remainder of the pan is grey. The pan then being "ready to use" was reasonably nonstick since I used several times as much oil as usual but the finished product carried with it the acrid burnt oil taste. At least it didn't stick.I don't think the product is returnable now in its current condition; I feel ripped off by the promises and hype around the product and the line and wish I had bought something else.

If you're looking to spend near to all-clad money on a pan that takes a ton of effort to get ready to use, is finicky in its care (no soap), looks like hell, and requires using large amounts of fat to achieve nonstickiness, this is the pan for you.

I had a hard time seasoning it but it is such a good pan. Now it is nonstick. Cleans very easily.

Buy Mauviel M'steel Frying Pan, 11-Inch Now

I didn't buy this product from Amazon, but from another seller. However, I did feel compelled to review it here. Contrary to the other review, the process for seasoning this pan was quite simple. The key is to follow the directions on the card that is attached to the pan. The pan is coated with beeswax, so it must be removed. Beeswax melts at about 145 degrees so if your tap does not allow the water to get that high, it is best to do what I did: boil some water on the stove, drain it into your stopped kitchen sink, let it soak for about 5 min, pull it out, and wipe it off. Be careful though because the pan will be boiling hot. After that, put peanut oil in the pan, wipe it on the sides a little, heat it to about 400 degrees, let it cool, wipe it out with a paper towel.Repeat the oiling, heating, cooling, and wiping one more time, and then the pan is ready to go.

As I said above, this pan gets hot quickly. It's made of carbon steel like a wok, and is designed to get hot quickly for great sears. This pan has performed beyond my expectations when I have used it, and it keeps getting better non-stick properties as I have used it; just like an iron skillet does. I can understand why some restaurants use these pans. They are really good.

I purchased the 12.5" version of this pan from Amazon and I am completely satisfied. Easy to clean off beeswax (water from kettle and paper towels)and easy to season (as described from Mauviel).Since then the pan is amazingly non-stick and a joy to use. This pan is a great find, a great buy and will last a lifetime!

I just got an 8-inch Mauviel M'steel for Christmas and am already on Amazon looking for a couple 11-inchers. I decided to leave a review because of the bad one I saw from 10/2012. I followed the manufacturer's instructions for removing the beeswax (a couple passes under scalding water from my tap, paper towels) and seasoning (heat flavorless oil, cool, wipe x2) and am loving this little fry pan. 5 stars!

Swiss Diamond HD Pro Stainless Steel Nonstick Skillet

Swiss Diamond HD Pro Stainless Steel Nonstick Skillet: 11'We've had the 11" Pro for a bit over a year. When we switched to induction, we settled on their induction ready aluminum pan and the HD Pro.

Within a year, the non-stick coating has started to bubble and recently lift. We hit the pan pretty hard with heat at times. However, we never had an issue with Scan pans (pre induction) or non-stick Viking pans post induction. The Swiss Diamond induction ready aluminum pans have held up fine but are not subjected to high heat cooking. If you expect to cook with high heat I'd take a pass on this pan.

Another issue is stains. We keep our pans in good shape and very clean. This pan looks like a mess. Stains all over the sides, the bottom is a mottled mix of shades of stainless steel. We've tried stainless steel polish, the cream for our Miele cooktop, Soft Scub and stainless steel wool. Nothing will remove them short of a shop grinder.

Last, we live in both the USA and Switzerland. This brand does not exist in the Swiss market. What does exist are Spring pans (Spring being the mother company). The Spring pans look very similar, if not identical for the aluminum pans.I assume they are the same thing. What's interesting is the Spring pans, while not supermarket cheap, are inexpensive middle market pans. And not all that popular judging from their limited distribution.

I'm taking a pass on Swiss Diamond in the future. First, for a moderately priced pan, our old Scan pans easily out lasted not only this one but our prior non-induction Swiss Diamonds. For a more expensive pan, our quite old Viking non-stick has put up with 7 years of intense heat just fine.Second, they certainly appear overpriced to me. We have all European cookware with the exception of a big Viking fry pan. Paying moderate prices, you get good pans. With this Swiss Diamod, paying a premium price got us an inferior pan.

Almost every other nonstick skillet has rivets that attach the handle, and food often sticks to the rivets and around the rivets.Swiss Diamond welds the handles so there are no rivets, and cleaning the skillet is much easier.

I have had two other Swiss Diamond nonstick pans for about a year and the nonstick coating has held up very well under daily use.

Agree with earlier review, inferior andoverpriced, for $150 at Costco any smart buyer can get a high quality complete set (5-6 pans!) that will last way longer than this.

Do your math... even if this 1 pan would be 30% better you loose... a lot!

We have had this pan almost a year now, and being the foodies that we are, we use it all the time. I waited to write this review to see how it stood up to the test of time. Our last non-stick pan, after less than a year of use, was becoming warped and less and less "non-stick", but this beauty is still working just as well as the day we first started using her.

Sure it does come with a premium price tag, but when you we thought about the fact that you could spend your money replacing a chintzy an pan periodically throughout the year why not go with a product that is going to last? It is the perfect compliment to my Pampered Chef stainless cookware; let's fact it, we all need a good non-stick pan and this one is the best I have ever seen/used.

We love it so much, and my husband has never once had a bad thing to say about doing the dishes when this is dirty, it is super easy to clean. My in-laws even went home and bought one after they came to our place and used it! In the long run why not spring for a pan that is going to last?

Pyrex Bakeware 8-Inch Square Cake Pan, Clear

Pyrex Bakeware 8-Inch Square Cake Pan, ClearThey are shipping the "grip-rite" version, which has larger grip handles on either side, and is NOT the product that is pictured.I specifically needed the small handles so that the dishwould fit into a square water bath that I use. There is another listing for the grip-rite version Pyrex Grip-Rite 8-Inch Square Baking Dish, Clear, which is what I received, for $4 less than this listing. Very disappointing.

I bought my Pyrex in 2005.Until tonight's dinner, there were no problems.10 minutes after placing the (room-temperature) Pyrex in the oven, my husband heard an explosion. It had shattered into large pieces, smaller pieces, and hundreds of shards. After researching it on Amazon, we learned that Pyrex made after 1998 is actually manufactured by a different company and the manufacturing standards are not as good.Beware!

I have only GOOD things to say about this baking dish.I bought one for myself when I got my first apartment.Five years later, and it still looks brand new and I use it all the time.In fact, I had to buy a second one (in blue this time) because I use this so much!

This dish is a good size for making meals for one or two people, as well as side dishes for more, or brownies, etc.It fits nicely in the fridge or freezer for storage, in the microwave for easy reheating, and in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. The handles are good sized for easy gripping and looks perfectly at home on a side buffet table at holidays.

For the price, you can't beat this purchase. It is worth so much more than what you will actually spend.

I baked a small batch of brownies at 350 degrees for 25 minutes and then took it out of the oven. *AS* I was walking past the dish it exploded through out my entire kitchen. My counter, floor and feet were covered in hot glass. I'm thankful my children were not in the kitchen at that time since they were excited to have brownies for dessert and had JUST left the room. I gave this a one star rating, I would go lower if I could. It's not trustworthy and makes me VERY wary of using ANY dish made by this company. As a matter of fact, I will never buy from them again.

Want Pyrex Bakeware 8-Inch Square Cake Pan, Clear Discount?

I have used Pyrex for years and always thought these dishes were pretty durable. Today I bought a new one, filled it with cake mix at room temperature, and placed it in a 350 degree oven. It exploded about 15 minutes later, leaving shards of glass everywhere in a major league mess. After a Google search, I was shocked to find that there are numerous reports about exploding Pyrex. Apparently the official explanation has something to do with thermal shock, but why would you sell a dish for baking if it's subject to thermal shock? I'm swearing off the product and feel I must warn others.

All-Clad LTD Nonstick 12-Inch Round Griddle Pan

All-Clad LTD Nonstick 12-Inch Round Griddle PanThis is the best nonstrick griddle I have purchased. You only need to heat medium to medium-high to get the best result.I use a little oil to give flavor to the food I am cooking and everything slides right off! I use it to make a lot of chicken. The pleasant surprise is that I can now make eggs over easy on medium heat sets nicely to be able to flip without breaking the egg and without overcooking it.This is the first pan I have ever been able to achieve this.Since it is such a nice size, I cook eggs and ham and other items all at the same time.

Unlike other nonstick pans I have purchased in the past, it has retained its' "nonstick".

After using this griddle for about 6 months.....the results:

Pros:

-Nice Build quality.

-Easy cleaning.

-Even heat distribution.

Cons:

Non so far..

Note: For people like me who are planning to use this griddle for Chapathis and Dosas... This is the griddle...even heat distribution helps you to make awesome dosas and chapathis...you can't go wrong with this one...

Scanpan Classic Stir Fry Pan

Scanpan Classic 11-Inch WokI was really excited to get the scanpan wok. However, I have found some pros and cons.

What I really like: it is a really good non-stick pan, you can cook over medium heat, with no oil at all, and food cooks evenly and slides right out as if it is on a slick surface.I cooked this way for several times.

Con: Then one day I used high heat to stir fry with a 2 tbsp of oil, the pan never performed as well afterwards. After using it on high heat just ONE time, the pan has a tendency to stick slightly.Always have to use more oil later, in order to get non-stick.

Since I use it more for stir fry than stews, this pan is now relegated to the pantry.

I think for the exorbitant $$$ cost, other woks that are cheaper perform better.

If you cook only over medium heat, this is a FANTASTIC buy.

If you stirfry often and need very high heat, this is NOT a good choice.

We have an entire set of ScanPan and consider it the best cookware we have ever owned in terms of function. When the stir fry pan was introduced we had to have one. This is now the pan of choice for stir-fry and for cooking things like chowders, stews and chili. It conducts heat evenly with no hot spots, it cleans up easily with a paper towel. There is really no reason to put it through the dishwasher since it wipes clean with a sponge or paper towel. It is absolutely the best non-stick surface with which we have ever cooked.

We highly recommend the ScanPan brand of cookware and especially this multi-function pot.

We own quite a few Scanpans and cannot say enough about them.Cooking is a pleasure with the no stick surface. They clean up like nothing you have used before and look as new as the day we bought them.We like them so much that now we buy scanpans for all our family members as birthday and Christmas gifts.

Read Best Reviews of Scanpan Classic Stir Fry Pan Here

We have most of the classic Scanpan line of cookware.I own both sizes of woks. This smaller classic 11" wok is a nice size for small meals. If I am preparing a small stir-fry meal for my wife and I, or just something for myself, this is my "go-to" pan.I have had several steel woks and even an electric wok in the past. The Scanpan is my favorite for a couple of reasons.First, Scanpan has a great surface, and it is nearly non-stick.It's not as slick as Teflon, but it holds up well in the kitchen. My 15-20 yr old Scanpans have some chips in the non-stick surface, but every traditional non-stick pan I have ever owned needed to be replaced after a few years despite delicate treatment.

I have an electric stove, and love to stir-fry on HIGH.I noted another reviewer said cooking on high seemed to change the surface of the pan.I haven't encountered that.I try to always have my food prepared before I start the heat. The pan won't burn if there is adequate food in it to absorb the heat.....and I stir like crazy at times!

These pans are great if you need to "deep fry" small batches of something. The small bottom and high sides allow me to use just a small amount of oil and not get splatter all over my stove.

And lastly, there is no problem with rusting like on the steel woks. When the food is done, we serve it from the wok, and whatever is left can stay in the pan.Our old woks would discolor or rust right away.As I have said, I own both sizes of Scanpan woks and have even given them as gifts to family members. They are the best woks I have ever used.

Just LOVE these things.Work on the road, so I'd normally buy one for cooking in motels from Calgary to New Iberia. Then give it away at the job's end.Now that the handle's more stable and heat resistant it's just about perfect. The plasma-embedded titanium ceramic means you'll still need some oil.But has none of the shortcomings of PTFE. You can find the same with slate-coated pure aluminum skillets for less at TJ or Marshall's, but here it's Scanpan's design features that seem superior.Don't even think about the price.I've had one for 18 years and you can see a few scratches in but not through the coating.

Eco Life 12-Inch Fry Pan

Eco Life 12-Inch Fry PanI have been using the same non-stick Teflon-coated pan for about 4 years now and its coating has held up with no problems; the only thing that has been a problem is the base of the pan has warped slightly to the point that the center of the pan is noticeably higher than the sides. For most things this isn't a problem and you hardly notice it, except when you fry an egg... then it is full of failure. After being annoyed with fried eggs that were not circular and didn't fit on a sandwich correctly I decided that it was time to look for a new frying pan.

For the price and features I decided on this pan. The things that I liked about it was that it is a thick pan it is not made of foil (I was able to purchase this in a local store). This pan doesn't make any claims about being heavy duty, commercial or of professional grade, and I don't think that it is, but it comes extraordinarily close to it. I also like the stainless steel handle on it none of that plastic or rubber coating to melt off, just the handle secured by two rivets.

The final thing that I was looking for in a frying pan was the type of coating. There are a few new coatings on the market right now in an effort to move away from Teflon. People have problems with Teflon breaking down after a period of time for various reasons and the the pan is useless for the most part when it does start to flake off and become non-existent. This frying pan boasts that it is made in an environmentally safe manor and that there are no chemicals used in or on it that are traditionally used during the manufacturing of a Teflon-coated frying pan. Frankly, all I am looking for in a non-stick frying pan in how well it preforms and and I am not really interested in the details of what makes it safe for the environment. I am, nonetheless, interested in the non-stick coating that is used here a ceramic coating. From what I hear from people ceramic is that best coating for pans; you can use metal utensils on it without damaging it, you can heat it up on the stove top and let it sit there without the coating boiling off and you can put it in the broiler with out much worry also.

I tested this pan out in a practical exercise by preforming tasks that I could either not do at all with my current pan because of its age or dared not try due to the materials used in construction. The first thing I did was put the electric burner on my stove to the maximum setting and let the pan sit on it for about five minutes while I prepared a pot roast to be seared. There was no smoking and no strange smells during this period. After I seasoned the roast I the roast in the pan and commenced with my searing I received perfect results with a teaspoon of oil. There was some seasoning left on the pan after I removed the roast and I decided to play with it while the heat was still on to see how much it was sticking to the pans surface. To my surprise it didn't stick much at all, all of it just slid around the pan without any issues. I poured a cup of water in the pan and let it boil while I put the pot roast in the slow cooker. I poured the water out and I noticed that there was some stains left behind on the coating of the pan. I took a nylon brush to it and my fingernail and it wouldn't come off. I let the pan cool off completely and it still didn't come off. I decided to also perform a test involving an egg. Heated the pan on the burner to about 65% power and let it stay there for about five minutes again, no odors and no smoke, and the coating was still intact. I cracked an egg right in the center of it and it just stayed there in a nice uniform circle without running to one edge of the pan. I let it cook for an appropriate time until it was ready to flip for an over-easy style egg. I used a metal spatula to flip it and didn't have too many issues. The egg wanted to stick to the spatula more than it wanted to stick to the pan. It did take a little coaxing to get the egg off the pan but not much, and once I did there was no part of the egg left on the surface. I cooked the egg to what I consider near perfection for an over-easy style egg without one drop of oil, butter, or cooking spray. I rinsed the pan off and that was it. The small black spots are still there from searing the roast but don't appear to compromise the non-stick coating.

Based on this frying pans performance I can recommend it without reservation. It performs better than any Teflon-coated frying pan I have ever used and because of its construction and materials used for construction I believe that it will be more versatile than a traditional Teflon-coated non-stick frying pan.

Bought this pan to replace one that wasn't so eco-friendly.Was sceptical, but I've had it for more than a year and it still looks brand new.I haven't had anything stick or any trouble cleaning it.I'm considering buying some more in various sizes.

So I bought this pan in hope to use less oil, and less sticky... Weird the first time i used it was very nice, but afterward this pan is hell. It sticks to everything i cook unless i put A LOT of oil... I really dont know why. Actually it sticks even i use a lot of oil.Pretty dissatisfying, but luckily i have other pans to use. Maybe i'm not taking care it correctly..... :(

Bought this approximately 6 months ago. Totally non-stick, contrary to other reviewer. Eggs clean off wonderfully. I've never seen a pan perform like this actually. It's as if the egg temporarily gets stuck (as on a stainless steel or cast iron), then after you have walked away for a bit (say after you eat your egg) and the pan has cooled a bit or something, the egg has flaked and lifted off of the pan. The first time I cooked an egg on it, I was rather upset (as the other reviewer who gave the product a 1 star), but then I went to clean it getting ready to scrub and scrape and the egg came off with minimal effort from a dish rag and warm water...

I typically don't write reviews, but to give this pan a 1 star rating is a great injustice and I thought I'd offset the score so that more people may buy this pan and I'll see more pans like these pans in the store.

Love this pan, I've cooked some awfully nasty stuff on it that cleans off easily. For me, it easily outperforms Teflon with the added benefit of it not being as dangerous as teflon. The coating also hasn't scratched or flaked like teflon pans typically do. Hands down a better non-stick choice than teflon.

I purchased this pan in the hopes of finding something that was safer, stronger, and at least as non-stick as teflon. This is not that product.

The coating on the pan does handle high temperatures, I have seared steaks in the pan without too much of a problem...until it comes time for the cleanup. My old teflon pan can be wiped out, this pan requires almost as much scrubbing as some ancient bare-aluminum camp cookware I used to own!

The ultimate test of non-stick cookware is eggs and this product fails miserably.I generally have to use MORE oil than I do in a stainless steel pan (which has no non-stick coating!).I routinely used approximately a teaspoon of oil in my old non-stick pan to help eggs release, the stainless steel pan requires a tablespoon, this pan requires 3-4 tablespoons of oil or the eggs will stick on like epoxy.

I'm going back to cast iron and stainless steel.

Paula Deen Traditional Porcelain 10-Piece Set

Paula Deen Traditional Porcelain 10-Piece Cookware Set, Purplei wanted paula deen cookware because my neighbor has owned a set for two years and she swears by it! her pots and pans are still incredibly non-stick and they really do look brand new. so I found this GREAT deal on amazon for the purple set and decided to splurge even though my cookware was fine. I am sooooo glad i did! this is way better than my old cookware. the deep purple color is very pretty in my kitchen. I love the rubberized grips on the handles and the lids, they are very comfy! the lids all fit on great. the non stick surface is really worth the price! and my favorite part about them is how light they are! I love not having to strain to get the big pot out of the cabnet. they are very durable too, don't think that because they are lightweight that they are weak.. cuz they are not! I would recomend any paula deen cookware.

I am very disappointed with the teflon interior coating, it is peeling.I received this set for Christmas and I have only used the Rosti basic kitchen tools that came with them, so I don't like that the interior is already peeling. They have all been hand washed, never in the dishwasher.I am very disappointed.

I have been looking for purple pots to match my interior kitchen colors for quite some time. These are perfect! The only thing I would recommend is NOT to put in dishwasher if you would like to keep them looking new and glossy. (one pot went through and not as glossy now). They are wonderful to cook with.

The only problem is the handles for the 8" pan and 1qt pot are too long and heavy and tilts.Otherwise they are a great set.Just be careful!

This is the 3rd set of Paula Deen cookware that I have purchased. The first two--one in red and the other black--were for my adult daughters. Both specifically asked for this brand and have bragged on them since receiving them last Christmas. This purchase was for me, finally. Purple is my favorite color and hue is a perfect plum. On top of that, they cook well andclean up is easy. Excellent product. I only wish Paula made more purple choices.
