I'm happy with this pan. We bought a new glass top stove, and our old cast iron skillet was too rough on the bottom. We needed something smooth so we wouldn't scratch the stove top. The enamel coating on the bottom is very smooth. This measures about 9 1/4 inches wide on the inside at the bottom. Not huge, but plenty big for our needs. And this thing is heavy. Heavier than our old, and bigger cast iron skillet. I guess that enamel coating is what adds the extra weight. But the handle is substantial enough to keep a good grip on it.
