I bought this pressure skillet as a complement to a 10 quart Fissler pressure cooker, which I thought would be cost efficient since the pressure lid would fit both units.This item is described as a pressure skillet appropriate for browning, sauteing, etc...I was looking forward to being able to use less oil for healthier cooking, having read about the honeycomb Novagrill surface that is to be found in these skillets.This pan seems to be a dead ringer for the pressure skillet (with Novagrill surface) that comes with a pressure lid, glass lid and mesh basket.Another website states that it does in fact have that surface.But that isn't the case. The skillet's surface is plain and flat.While it looks to be a terrific pan and very solidly built, it is important to know it doesn't benefit from that technology.
To get the Novagrill surface, one will need to order the four-piece set.Which I have done, I just wish it had been better described.As a skillet, I imagine its function would suffer a bit from not having the highly touted technology and don't quite understand why Fissler wouldn't make it available on all its pressure skillets.
