They say that they are metal safe, but I don't think that I would use metal in these. You can kind of see where the plastic untensils have been used, small indentations, which I think that you would be able to see on any nonstick cookware, but nothing down to the metal.
They are hand wash only and that is fine with me, I want to keep them looking new.The silicone handles are nice and the weight of the pans are easy to pick up with one hand and place in the sink. So far I am very pleased with these pans.I purchased the Farberwear Millennium cook set because of previous experience with individual Millennium fry pans I had purchsed in the past that were heavy alluminum non stick pans. These new cook set pans are nowhere near as heavy as the old ones, and that was a disappointment. But the are very good to cook with.Non stick is excellent.Cleanup is excellent. If treated well they should be good pans for several years.Be very careful about overheating if you use a glass top "pulse" heating stove.Yes, I would recommend them.I purchased from Amazon because of the good price and free shipping. But I wish they were heavier!

I purchased these about a month ago. We use them nightly. They are hand wash only.
The interior is teflon coated. It is very slick and smooth inside which makes it super easy for your food to come off as well as to clean afterwards. You do not use cooking spray with these pans.
The outside appears more durable than other exteriors in this product category.
The bronze color is a mid to dark brown metallic (visualize mixing milk and dark chocolate together and that is the darkness of the brown color).

I've been wanting a new set of pots and was determined to make sure that anyone that uses these does not use metal utensils on the teflon/nonstick surface! When I finally got them I read the instructions and sternly told my husband never to use a metal spoon or fork and that we don't even need to use Pam cooking spray because it'll ruin the nonstick surface. He had a hard time swallowing that until I showed him the instructions in black and white.A couple of days later I decided to fry a couple eggs for breakfast sans the cooking spray.Well, the eggs stuck so badly to the nonstick surface that I had to throw them right in the garbage when I couldn't even lift them up with my plastic spatula without breaking the yolks. The pots look nice, but nonstick? NOT!
