Farberware Millennium Colors 12-Piece Non-Stick Cookware Set
I purchased this set after ordering another set that I was not happy with and had to send back. These are great!I love the color! It is a darker red, kind of like maroon.I did not know when I ordered these that they are the same color as my kitchen chairs.Bonus! They look great hanging on my pot rack! They say that they are metal safe, but I don't think that I would use metal in these. You can kind of see where the plastic untensils have been used, small indentations, which I think that you would be able to see on any nonstick cookware, but nothing down to the metal.
They are hand wash only and that is fine with me, I want to keep them looking new.The silicone handles are nice and the weight of the pans are easy to pick up with one hand and place in the sink. So far I am very pleased with these pans.I purchased the Farberwear Millennium cook set because of previous experience with individual Millennium fry pans I had purchsed in the past that were heavy alluminum non stick pans. These new cook set pans are nowhere near as heavy as the old ones, and that was a disappointment. But the are very good to cook with.Non stick is excellent.Cleanup is excellent. If treated well they should be good pans for several years.Be very careful about overheating if you use a glass top "pulse" heating stove.Yes, I would recommend them.I purchased from Amazon because of the good price and free shipping. But I wish they were heavier!

I purchased these about a month ago. We use them nightly. They are hand wash only.
The interior is teflon coated. It is very slick and smooth inside which makes it super easy for your food to come off as well as to clean afterwards. You do not use cooking spray with these pans.
The outside appears more durable than other exteriors in this product category.
The bronze color is a mid to dark brown metallic (visualize mixing milk and dark chocolate together and that is the darkness of the brown color).

I've been wanting a new set of pots and was determined to make sure that anyone that uses these does not use metal utensils on the teflon/nonstick surface! When I finally got them I read the instructions and sternly told my husband never to use a metal spoon or fork and that we don't even need to use Pam cooking spray because it'll ruin the nonstick surface. He had a hard time swallowing that until I showed him the instructions in black and white.A couple of days later I decided to fry a couple eggs for breakfast sans the cooking spray.Well, the eggs stuck so badly to the nonstick surface that I had to throw them right in the garbage when I couldn't even lift them up with my plastic spatula without breaking the yolks. The pots look nice, but nonstick? NOT!Magefesa Vitalia Alunimun Fry Pan

Lodge Logic LGPR3 Pre-Seasoned Round Cast-Iron Grill Press
This is something that had been on my wish list for a while.I had not used one before but I liked the concept. Finally got one for my birthday a couple of years ago, and this has grown into one of my favorite tools. For bacon, nothing is better.I cook up 5 pounds at a time and freeze in 4-slice packs, and this little beauty makes the cooking process easy.Nice flat pieces that are great for that after-work BLT.Works great for panini and is definitely cheaper and easier to use than a specialized machine that does the same job for 5 times the price. This is a real low-tech old school way of cooking that proves over and over again why its still so popular.
I have one of these and may end up with another. After checking a previous review, someone obviously doesn't understand function as opposed to just looking good. The only thing he rated highly was a cookbook...
I only wish this came in a size that would properly fit a 12" frying pan for when I'm cooking breakfast for a crowd.
No complaints and I know how to clean cast iron.

When you grow up with flat bacon, nothing else is good enough. So I made the plunge and bought this press for the sole purpose of cooking flat bacon in my cast-iron cookware. That makes this an expensive uni-tasker for me (which, along with the screws, is why I only gave it 4 stars), but I still think it was a good purchase. The construction of the press seems high-quality. It is indeed heavy, but I have no concerns about the handle coming off or anything like that. You do need to assemble it, requiring a flathead screwdriver and an adjustable wrench or pliers, but it isn't difficult. The screwheads sit in an indentation on the bottom of the press and are exposed to the food/cooking surface. The hygiene implications of that might be a problem for some, but those people would probably not like cast-iron anyway. However, the screw indentations are deep enough so that the screws aren't capable of scratching the cooking surface. Cleanup means wiping with some warm water and using a stiff bristle brush if necessary. Dry off and coat with a thin layer of oil.
Use is quite simple. I can't imagine using the press on steaks or burgers since that would press all the juice (not necessarily fat) out of them and make them dry, but it's perfect for bacon. With extened use the wire handle will get warm, but never necessitated the use of mitts or gloves. One thing I noticed while using the press is that you will want to use a pan at least somewhat larger than the press. When I used the press with my cast-iron pan with a 7" bottom, the fat from the bacon had nowhere to go and would end up rising up and over the sides of the press, pooling on top of it.
Overall, it's a well constructed press with the only real downside being the exposed screws on the bottom. The handle stays cool and my bacon stays flat. A bit of a luxury, but worth it for me. Also, if you are going to use this for bacon, do yourself a favor and save the bacon grease to cook with or to season other cast iron vessels with later.

The press functions well enough, but as other reviews have mentioned the handle is shotty. It's held on with bolts which get gunked-up with grease and crud. I have to disassemble the handle (with tools) to clean the press thoroughly. The coiled handle doesn't stay cool enough to touch anyway, so why not use a one-piece design like the Lodge panini press? One good bonus this press offers is I can use it as a lid for the Lodge 6.5" skillet, which doesn't have an available lid.World Cuisine Heavy Duty Carbon Steel Frying Pans
If you are buying a carbon steel pan in the US, you are probably going to end up with a pan made by de Buyer, Paderno World Cuisine or Vollrath.De Buyer are the most expensive, then Paderno and finally Vollrath.Vollrath's pans are usually thinner than the De Buyer or Paderno pans.I have two of the Paderno Pans (8 5/8th and 10 1/4) and love both of them. They are lighter, heat up faster and are much easier to season and clean than cast-iron pans.Unlike cast iron, you do not have to worry about cooking tomato-based or other acidic foods in carbon steel pans.Unlike most non-stick, you can use any type of utensils and use high heat. Some people dislike that the handles on carbon steel pans, whether made by de Buyer, Paderno or Vollrath, are not very comfortable (they are narrow) and can get hot.Silicone sleeves for the handle are available and they do help:Paderno World Cuisine Black Silicone Sleeve (7-7/8-Inch to 13-3/4-Inch)There are a few different options and suppliers for the sleeves, so it's best to do a search.I'm pretty sure that other reviewers have mentioned that although the pans are lighter than cast iron, they are heavier than typical non-stick or stainless steel pans, and thus they might be hard to handle for some people (e.g., those with arthritic hands). However, I think most people should be okay.
Although I have not used a de Buyer carbon steel pan, from reading various cooking forums it seems that about the only difference between the de Buyer and Paderno pans is the price.Save yourself some money; the Paderno World Cuisine pans are fine.
PS..There's still a place in your kitchen for Cast Iron pans: skillets for cornbread, dutch ovens for bread and braising (a ceramic coated dutch oven will allow you to use acidic sauces), fryers for, well, frying!
Wonderful pan! It works very much in the same as a cast iron pan. This will remind you that it's heavy. I bought two of them, a 10 inch and 12 inch. The
12 inch was just too heavy, so I gave it away. Now, after several months of use, my 10 inch pan is well seasoned and is great favourite. You'll still need strong arms to make proper use of one of these, however,

This is a fantastic pan. Heats nicley and evenly but could use some work in the handle department; it's a bit skinny for such a hefty device.

First of all, you should try handling this in real life before buying this.Although it looks very similar to the DeBuyers carbon steel frying pans, the handle on the World Cuisine is much sharper along the edge and so becomes much more uncomfortable to use. T I tried holding it for a few seconds and immediately realized it was much more uncomfortable than my DeBuyers. Thankfully, I didn't season it, so I returned it back to Amazon. I have the DeBuyer's Mineral B pan of equivalent size, and I highly recommend it. It works well, and the handle is more comfortable.
If you're sure you want a carbon steel frying pan and want this particular one, let me reassure you that carbon steel is an excellent medium. It is very easy to season. And it's very easy to reason if you manage to ruin the seasoning. For example, if you ruin cast iron seasoning, it can take months of frequent use to build up a good season. However, it only takes one week of use to build up a good season on carbon steel. Plus, the smooth finish makes it very easy to slide an egg around.
For seasoning, I recommend using a high smoking point oil. Put the pan on your stove top at the highest setting and coat it with a light layer of oil. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it smokes. Let it cool. Repeat this 3 times. That's all. Simple.
I highly recommend this for cooking eggs. Fried eggs come out perfect! (as long as you don't break the yolk). It's a little difficult to flip crepes or pancakes because of the sloped sides, but it's not impossible. Get a griddle or crepe pan if it's too hard.
Overall, carbon steel is excellent. However, I recommend the DeBuyers instead because the handle is more comfortable.

After properly seasoning my carbon steel skillet, it cooked like no other. My other coated non sticks are now history.I love that the non stick properties are from the seasoning and not some teflon coating. After seasoning it, I made hash browns, sausage, and eggs in that order and everything cooked perfectly with no sticking whatsoever. I thought I would have trouble with the eggs since I cooked the pan sausage first but everything slid around the pan with ease and the taste was great too. I'm buying a bigger one now, the 10.25 inch is nice and will see regular use, but sometimes you may need a larger cooking surface if friends and family are visiting.I'm 100% satisfied and kind of kicking myself for not getting one sooner.Berndes SignoCast Classic 11-Inch Skillet
I'm probably addicted to the entire Berndes SignoCast Classic line of cookware. Every time I see a really great deal on a piece, I grab it. There simply is no better non-stick cookware! The vast majority of my cookware is quality 18/10 stainless, including several pieces of All Clad. Generally, I prefer to cook without non-stick, because I don't care for the way meats brown in non-stick and, with some foods, that I know will adhere to the pan, I want to be able to clean with an abrasive pad. Yet, for eggs, pancakes, crepes, and other egg based preparations, I prefer a non-stick surface. When I received my first piece of Berndes SignoCast Classic, I noticed the screw, holding the handle was slightly loose. To be certain it didn't have stripped threads, I removed it and, upon observation, thought it might be a bit short. I replaced it with a screw, one-eighth inch longer. I really don't think it was necessary, but in almost two years, it's not loosened a bit.
I've bought every piece I own at terrific sale prices, either from Amazon, Warehouse Deals, or another Amazon noted retailer. Watch for the sale prices!
A perfectly fine frying pan that has a major flaw-the handle. It falls off because it's improperly attached with a short screw. Not worth it.

I love this pan.It heats up absolutely evenly, and has a very predictable heating and cooling rate. The non-stick surface is superb. However, I carefully maintain my equipment.I use only silicone coated tools,I wash only by hand, never overheat while empty, and cook only on a gas stove.
