Finally found this Wolfgang Puck. Perfectly flat eggs don't roll at all, staying in a circle. Gets hot enough to make really good pancakes and is big enough to make four. Haven't tried the grill side yet.
Surface heating seems to be uniform. I browned all four pancakes to the same level of 'brownness'.
UPDATE (June 2010):
The numbers on the thermostat wash off within 6 months. You will not be able to determine temperature settings. Manufacturer is unresponsive.

I like it.The next best thing to a commercial-grade grill. The entire surface temperature appears to be even as I don't see a difference in how quickly items cook on one side versus the other or the edges versus the middle.Any griddle you buy will be a pain to clean (isn't cleaning ALWAYS a PAIN?) but this one cleans relatively easy. The griddle/grill lifts off the base and there is a drip-pan underneath that is also removable.
Only problem I have, which is not really a problem with the griddle, is that I can't be running too many items in the kitchen while I use it because it will trip the Kitchen Outlets' circuit breaker.

This is the greatest griddle we have ever owned. We love how it cooks food evenly. The only complaint is the product itself wasn't in mint condition. The black plastic around the handle areas had many little chips. Unless pointed out they are barely noticeable.Seems like a manufacturing flaw not damage from shipment. This was the second one reshipped and it had the same flaws on it.

I purchased this double griddle/grill when my past griddle bit the dust. While the previous had been just for pancakes or maybe eggs, this is something we use all the time.
First, it's super easy to clean (easier than my panini maker!), mainly because you can lift the center cooking unit out of the holding rack and clean it alone, instead of one gigantic thing to clean at once. When you lift it out you can wash it easily. The nonstick coating isn't the cheap kind...this feels more like a real cast iron coating that is heavy and not going to chip into your food (however, I still use plastic utensils so as to not scratch it).
The chrome rack that holds it all is lightweight and usually stays clean when you cook, so just a wipe with a towel is fine...it doesn't get meat juices or grease on it because of the design.
The heat distributes evenly across the top, leaving no hot spots. The controls are pretty precise, not jumping from 300 to 400 but giving you some incremental changes that are helpful.
We use it cook chicken breasts and steaks, cuban sandwiches (weigh down with a brick), breakfast foods, etc. We've also used it to quickly heat tortillas and make homemade corn tortilla chips by cutting them into triangles and placing on a very hot lightly greased flat side.Justa few seconds and a flip and they come out like corn chips without the oil.
One suggestion would be to make sure you realize how wide it is...about 24", and about 15" deep.So it's pretty big for your countertop.
Hope this is helpful to you!
