Aesthetically they're attractive and nicely finished, without the sharp edges and burrs, which I have had the displeasure of encountering on other inexpensive iron cookware. For a pan this heavy, a smoothe finish is important so you don't get cuts and scrapes while washing.
These are compact with no extra surfaces jutting out, but not a problem for me.I have medium sized male hands and I can confortably lift this pan by the ends with the hole using 2 fingers of each hand on the bottoms of the flanges and my thumbs on the tops. The pan would have to be cool of course. For a hot pan I would need 2 oven mitts, cupping both hands on opposite sides or ends of the pan. This compactness should almost guarantee that at least 1 of these would fit in even a small toaster oven, a bonus in the summer when you don't want to fire up the big oven. The compactness would also increase your storage options.A good value as listed here on Amazon for $13.00, and if you need a muffin pan, I strongly recommend it.
Nothing cooks better than cast iron. However, the pan is much smaller than I thought. This is for 6 mini muffins.

Great muffin pan except for the fact that it only makes mini muffins. I should have read the dimensions more carefully!!Read Best Reviews of Old Mountain 7-3/4-Inch-by-5-1/2-Inch Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Muffin Pan Here
These are great.I got two and have used them to make muffins a few times.I had no problem with them sticking, and they clean easily. They are slightly smaller than normal muffin cups, but are larger than minis.Love it.

I bought 3 of these pans and they cook my corn muffins perfectly. The size is designed to provide you with a golden crust on the outside and a moist cake in the inside. If the size was increased (DEPTH OR WIDTH)by the time you got a golden crust on the outside, the center of the muffin would still be raw. This is why they made them this size.It was enginneered that way. These pans stack very well and take little space in my cupboard.Make sure you oil them first, then preheat them in the oven before you pour your batter in.
