First,the quality of the pan is very high. The 2 stars are because it isnt REMOTELY the 8" advertised.As anyone knows, when you have a size in mind, and the reality of what you order is REALLY off... you dont get what you ordered.This is not 8",this is not even 7" for effective use.You actually only have less than a 6" span to work with, and that means you get to fry one egg at a time... isnt even a good size for a single omelet, or truly any kind of sauteeing as there is not space to support effective spatula use needed in sauteeing.I could have worked with 7-7 1/2 effective span for what I purchased this pan, but this doesnt remotely cut it, so I am going to have to purchase another pan for that use.... I am however going to keep this pan because it is high quality, and I could use a single egg fryer for a picky eater in my household.
Update 2 19 13: Upgraded to 4 stars.I actually use this little guy alot in my kitchen now... it actually turned out to be great for sauteeing small amounts of veggies and a single omelets, etc.It has become a staple for my 2 person household.I just made sure I got a smaller spatula to use with it.Very happy with the purchase.
This is not only wonderfully functional, it is beautiful as well. Each time I look at it I think it could be in New York City's Museum of Modern Art.
Spectacular quality at a very reasonable price.
If this one ever wears out, I hope it is still available so I can purchase a replacement.
