When reviewing a set of cookware like this I always try to imagine who it was designed for and not to let my own personal preferences and biases effect how I judge the set.Having said that, I think that this is a great set for the casual (or reluctant) cook. Also, for those on a budget, newlyweds, first time home owners, etc.I am going to use this set in a summer/vacation home.I really like the assortment of pots, pans and skillets in this set so I thought that a video review might be helpful.Thank you.
()Upon initial inspection, all of the pots, pans, and lids/ covers were all neatly packed in cardboard and heavy plastic bags with the product's information and care instructions within one of the pots. All seemed to be well made and attractive looking with contrasting orange, rubber handles.I was glad to see that the handles were bolted on, as my old pots and pans have handles held onto the cookware with screws, which occasionally need to be tightened, an annoyance. This set lacked a large 12 or 14 inch skillet similar to the small 8 inch and medium 10 inch ones. The large 4.5 quart sauté pan was deep and wouldn't be ideal, for say, pancakes. The 8 and 10 inch skillets are too small for cooking a meal for my family. The second to largest pot appeared to have two minor imperfections in the non-stick surface finish inside, and at the bottom of the pot.I attempted to scratch whatever this was off with a wooden spoon first, and then with my fingernail, and finally with soap, water, and an abrasive plastic cleaning pad, all without success.
For the first meal, I decided to cook an old, reliable staple that everyone cooks pasta.A dish touted in this product's description on the Rachel Ray website.I cleaned the largest pot and lid for the pasta, and the large sauté pan and lid for the sauce.Incidentally, the largest pot and sauté pan share the same lid size, and are interchangeable.A nice feature. After I had cleaned and dried them, the cooking surfaces appear to remain slick, and I filled the large pot halfway with water. After it cooked, I really wished it had a pouring spout or a top to strain out the remaining liquid.
While I've owned non-stick cookware before, I was still surprised to read that these pots and pans are not intended to be used on high heat; the layers this cookware is made with can unravel over time. The care instructions recommend low to medium heat always. Although the lids are clear glass, they do steam up easily.
The next morning, I decided to make a fried egg for breakfast.Knowing the care instructions warnings against non-stick sprays, butter, olive oil, etc.I trusted this non-stick cookware to do just that. Not stick.I cracked an egg in the small 8 inch skillet on medium heat and away we went. After turning white, and not to my surprise, the egg did indeed stick, and very much so.I could not flip it, and ended up unintentionally breaking the yoke.It wasn't fun to eat, and the pan wasn't fun to clean.
So overall, I'm not sold on this set as I can see a few things I would want improved upon. It's just average...nothing I'd brag about but certainly better than some sets I've used.

()How well do these cook my meals?Since I usually use my Cuisinart high-pressure cooker to cook everything under the sun, I was intrigued to see how well these performed compared to my usual staple kitchen item. I have to say, cooking bacon and eggs was pretty quick. The heat flows fast and pretty much evenly.
What is the construction like?
It's not cast-iron, so you will need to be somewhat careful with it in regards to tossing it into your cookware pantry. However, the handles and lids are of high quality, so I don't have to worry about those breaking or coming loose.
How non-stick are they?
It's pretty good. I mean, I always cook with a bit of coconut or olive oil, more less for flavor than to prevent sticking. However, when I fried an egg in smaller skillet, none of the egg stuck to the pan.
What is clean-up like?
As noted in the non-stick category, clean-up is easy as can be. The most effort you are going to need in cleanup are the lids and the rivets used to adhere the handles. Other than than, the cooking surfaces and sides require only the soft side of a sponge to get most of the food removed. (Granted, I'm saying this from the perspective that you wash your cookware right after you cook, and never let the food settle in the pans.)This was the first Rachael Ray cookware set and products we purchased and the quality as well as our experience and satisfaction with the pots and pans in this set has led to us purchasing many more RR cookware products and we're extremely happy with ALL the Rachael Ray cookware items we own and use they're just excellent all-around in terms of quality and performance and we plan to continue to purchase and use the RR line of cookware products for years to come!

()I don't know who Rachel Ray is, so this is just a review of the product. To say this set is easy to clean would be an understatement. I dare you to get anything stuck to these pans! This is a great set for someone just starting out or for replacing old cookware. You can tell the company thinks highly of the product just by its meticulous packaging; you will as well once you use it. You can't help but want to use it when you take it out of the package and feel the weight in your hand. We've made pretty much all the staple foods at our house in this set, and it's great for all your everyday cooking needs. I'm not crazy about the orange handles, but they are definitely easy to find in a dark cabinet, and you may like the orange more than you think. I love that some of the lids have release holes for steam; I don't know why they didn't just add that to all of them. I guess there are some gourmet chefs out there who could find a million things wrong with them, but as someone who has had multiple kitchen disasters (including destroying 3 crock pots), this has been a great product that actually helped me cook more and better. I'll probably never make a big holiday dinner, but this cooking set got me interested in cooking for the first time, so it's pretty miraculous in that respect. I think most people will be very happy with this set, and will use it for years to come.
