If the pan you want to save is going to pair and work with a handle this cheap then just buy a new pan. This handle will only fit some pans that accept the same size screw and once in place you're going to have a short, flimsy solution. The metal band is very cheap and thin.

I was hesitant to order from other reviews, but needed the handle and couldn't seem to find one elsewhere.The screw was too short as others mentioned, but fortunately my husband has a stash of screws and a hacksaw to cut it to the desired length.Even the screw from the old handle was too short because the metal neck of the new handle was longer.I will be careful to keep the flame low to avoid weakening the handle.

Smells horrible anytime I get the pan hot! This usually happens when I am boiling water, about the time the water boils the handle starts stinking! I thought that it would need a "burn" in periodbut it is still smelly.
