Honest review on skillet seattle

This is not stainless steel. It can't be. At first I thought it worked great, even though it discolored and couldn't be cleaned enough to restore the original look, but after a few uses, It started to get rusty, even without obvious moisture EVER left on the surface. Not blackened or stained, but flat out rusted. Now, without ever using it again, and keeping it stored in fully enclosed, completely protected cabinet in its accompanying bag (put away dry), we opened it this season to find it COVERED with rust and totally unusable. Lots of money for a 4-5 use item.I bought this for my gas grill because my wife and I cook hibachi style very often. There are many reasons to like this griddle:Buy Sizzle-Q SQ180 Universal Griddle for BBQ Grills, Stainless Now
This griddle came exactly as advertised. Heats up super fast on grill. I have even set it on top of my turkey fryer with success.I have cooked everything from tater tots to fish, steak, burgers, eggs, veggies.I have not had any problems with sticking. I usually toss on some oil or butter. Puts a great sear crust on burgers and steaks. While griddle is hot hit it with some water and scrape off food into drip trough in front. I usually put some wet paper towel in trough as well to help absorb grease. You do need to hit it with a grill stone every now and then if you dont like the darkening of surface ( I dont mind it, a seasoned griddle requires less oil and cooks better IMO ).I DEF reconmmend this for those who are sick and tired of flare ups!Read Best Reviews of Sizzle-Q SQ180 Universal Griddle for BBQ Grills, Stainless Here

I love this griddle. When I read all the reviews on how hard it was to clean I almost did not buy it but did so I could try it myself and I am glad I did. After my husband cooked on the griddle and it was stuck with burnt sauce I took out my Mr Clean white bar and every thing came off right away. I clean everything with the Mr Clean white bars that you buy anywhere so I figured I would try it on the griddle and it works perfect. NO MESS...this griddle cooks food better than anything we have cooked on...love it...

Received the skillet. A little surprised that they recommended veg. oil to temper as I always used lard, but I did it their way. It turned out wonderfully. The temper was excellent, the size was excellent and the chicken turned out perfectly, as did the fries, beans, donuts and corn bread subsequently made in it. Just like the old pots we used to get & have, and I expect to be able to give this to my daughter as Mom gave hers. Highest recommend.Read Best Reviews of Stansport Cast Iron 6 Quart Chicken Fryer Here
As a general rule I would say a pan is just a pan, but this is the best pan for browning I have ever purchased.Properly seasoned it is very stick resistant, heats evenly and cooks a burger or an egg like it came off a flat griddle in a restaurant. On a Gas stove it browns without burning. Its easy cleanup and much lighter than cast iron, and it appears very durable. I will never purchase another teflon pan again.I originally purchased this pan for my camper but i don't think its going to leave my kitchen.I will likely purchase another shortly.Buy World Cuisine Black Steel Frying Pans Now

I did not expect much from the pan when purchased but it was not expensive and I wanted to give it a try. I did not want to use the regular non-stick cookware anymore.
This may be a nice little non-stick pan on a regular stove, but I bought it for use with an induction stove.Be warned if you have an induction stove, this pan will not get hot enough to cook with.It has a thin steel disk imbedded in the bottom, so it will register on your stove (induction stoves don't even try to heat all-aluminum pans) but the disk simply does not generate enough heat to cook with. Even after many minutes of pre-heating on power boost, it barely exceeded lukewarm. With the right cookware, induction stoves are capable of getting insanely hot insanely fast but this is NOT the right cookware.I bought this pan because I needed a larger non-stick frying pan, and it happened to be dark red which matches my color scheme. This pan heats evenly is durable and everything cooks like a charm. But the reason I'm writing this is because my husband has not stopped raving about how this is now his favorite pan (he does the dishes). I am very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it. So would the dish washer.Buy Gourmet Chef Heavy Duty Non Stick Fry Pans Now

This is the 4th Gourmet Chef non-stick pot/pan i have purchased. I like the non-stick quality, makes for very easy cleanup. Eggs just don't stick and the pan seems to heat evenly. I would buy more pans of different sizes and the store has them on sale occasionally.
I like the flat heavy base of this skillet. It seems to work well with the flat glass top electric stove that I have. Round bottomed skillets don't heat as evenly as this flat bottomed skillet. Clean up is a breeze.Buy Strauss Green Cuisine Stainless Steel Skillet with Non Stick Ceramic Coating Now

This mold is extremely heavy (being cast iron) and would not be good for people that have trouble lifting or using heavy things. Of course the upside of that is that it will last for ages if taken care of. The thing about this mold that I don't like is that you have to do your baking in two stages, since it is all in one piece; bake cookies on one side, then bake cookies on the other once the first batch are done. I would much have prefered a mold that was two pieces both so that it would be less heavy, and so that all the baking could be done at once. There is nothing wrong with this mold. It just takes a really long time to make an entire house and an eternity if you are making multiple. The included recipe takes 20 minutes to bake, 25 minutes to cool and then you have to let the cast iron pan cool more to reuse. Easily takes an hour per side. You have to bake on both sides to make a complete house. The pieces are very brittle (using the included recipe) and broke easily meaning I had to bake replacement pieces. Next year we'll go back to hot gluing graham crackers for our houses.Buy Paula Deen Signature Cast Iron Ginger Bread House Mold Now
This is a heavy cast iron mold. I liked the house, but found the chimney and people hard to remove from the pan. The larger pieces were fine and I liked the rustic look.I used a different chimney and people from a different mold that I purchased so it changed the character of the house.Read Best Reviews of Paula Deen Signature Cast Iron Ginger Bread House Mold Here
If you are a kitchen cast iron collector this is for you.Yes, it is indeed heavy but that's what cast iron is about.I haven't used it for gingerbread houses but I don't think I would have trouble making one because cast iron is what I work with all the time.Want Paula Deen Signature Cast Iron Ginger Bread House Mold Discount?
Just purchased my donut maker a couple of days ago and love it. Definitely use a ziploc bag and notch one of the corners out to fill each donut holder (like a pastry bag). Do not try to measure the 2 T. they recommend. Fill each up but do not overfill (just below the edge about 1/4 or so from the top works). I sprayed the unit with cooking spray like "Pam" after each batch and used a wooden chopstick to remove the donut after cooking. The metal fork that comes with it could scratch the unit. The recipes that came with the instructions are okay. The spice one is the best. If using a box mix the donuts are too light and fluffy but they come out looking great with some icing and sprinkles. A simple recipe I use for plain donuts is: 1c. flour, 1t. baking powder, 1/2t. salt, 2 eggs, 2/3c. sugar, 1/4c. milk. Combine ingredients and beat 1 minute with electric mixer. Put in ziploc bag and you're ready to make donuts. I used the Vanilla Frosting recipe in the instruction booklet and added 1T. pureed strawberries to it yummy!! Frost when they are semi-warm not hot! Makes 24. My donuts cooked in 2 minutes so watch them closely. One side of donut is lighter than the other but if you're frosting it you won't notice. The unit cleans up nicely, when cool I just wipe with a towel. We had an old Daisy Donut Machine when I was a little girl in the 70's.I wasn't sure this little machine had the quality to produce good results, but I was pleasantly surprised. The non-stick finish is excellent, so the donuts are easy to remove after baking. The ready light is very handy. The unit is small but makes six donuts at a time, so it doesn't take long to produce lots of yummy donuts (ours cooked in about 3 1/2 minutes per batch.)The helpful tip to put the batter in a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped off worked great.Read Best Reviews of 6 Mini Doughnut Maker Here

I have to return this now because the phrase "18/10 stainless" only refers to the handle, not the whole pan.I have a full set of Circulon pans that work with our induction cooktop this one looks just like them. But this one apparently is aluminum (never mentioned in the product description) and it does not have the steel bottom needed for induction cooktops. For any other cooking method, this would be great.Circulon pans are great -far easier to care for than All-Clad.Start with this is a great product--cooks evenly and is truly nonstick and washable.I purchased this item to go along with set of 10.I also purchased the 12" frying pan with a top.Honestly, you do not need both since they are virtually the same pans. The slight slope of the side classifies the pan as a skillet and if the side is striaight, it is classified as a frying pan.If I had to do it over again, I would just buy the frying pan since it has a top whereas the skillet does not.Buy Circulon Elite Nonstick 12" Open French Skillet Now

I am an Asian housewife and I do my share of stir fry cooking several times a week. I have several carbon steel woks already but I was looking for a less heavy one, so I bought the Helen Chen's wok.It is lighter, but everything else about this wok has been a disappointment.Despite a careful seasoning process I did before I used this wok for real cooking, the wok turned brown and black in its first mission, and it rusts so easily, I have to rush into cleaning it, drying it, and hanging it right after the food is out of this wok. Carbon steel woks do rust, but shouldn't be in such a lightening speed, my other woks made in Japan or Taiwan are so much better. What makes it worse is, even if I clean and dry the wok in time, the next time before I cook with it,I'll be sure to find new rust, so I have to clean it again before using it.

I have a bunch of these cazuelas and love them for baking and serving.I do season them, as recommended. They are remarkably durable.I am from the south of India where we make all our fish curries in clay pots , so I was thrilled to find one here on amazon.com. Clay pots back home last several years so not knowing how to use one with care was not the issue. Lookswise this clay pan is spectacular but after about 10 uses it developed a thin hairline crack and now I am planning to use it as a flower pot. This cookware set is comparable to higher end products. It has a nice build, looks professional, and seems quite durable. 5 stars given for strong value and aesthetic appeal.I bought this set on the recommendation of my culimary friend who said she thought they were as good or better than Al Clad. I could not be happier with the performance and looks of the Cuisinox Elites. They have a nice heavy feel to them, and the lids fit to exact. The handles are solid and give a nice grip. I couldn't help notice that even the simmer looked different probably due to the clad aluminum that extends up the sides. This set is a real wow and I am already looking to add to it.Buy Cuisinox Elite 10 piece Cookware Set Now
After reading the previous reviews of Cuisinox I purchased a 2.8 liter pot. Much as I love cooking with it I find I do not use it because the handle is so narrow, it is impossible to pick up and pour with one hand. The narrow handle twists in your hand because of the weight with any contents. Even my husband (a big boy) found it very difficult. It means it takes two people to pour from the pot One to hold both sides of the pot and the other to controlthe contents being poured. For this reason,I would not purchase any more. Otherwise I like the pot.Read Best Reviews of Cuisinox Elite 10 piece Cookware Set Here

I had high hopes for this pan, having loved my cast iron pans but hoping for something with more even heat transfer and heft. The pan came very heavily wrapped (bubble wrapped inside paper inside a box that was inside a box cushioned by paper). There was a thick coating of beeswax on the pan and instructions on heating it with oil for five minutes, cooling, removing oil, and repeating. The paper wrapping also said to go to the Mauviel website for care information.I went to their website, and there is no mention of care information or of this product line in any way so I followed the provided curing instructions to the letter, absent any other support. The whole process (carefully washing off the beeswax then heating with for five minutes, cooling, repeating) took about 30 minutes. After filling my kitchen with acrid oil smoke and taking all that time, the pan looks like hell bumpy, tacky black residue in the center of the pan (the bottom is not flat so the oil pooled in the center) and the remainder of the pan is grey. The pan then being "ready to use" was reasonably nonstick since I used several times as much oil as usual but the finished product carried with it the acrid burnt oil taste. At least it didn't stick.I don't think the product is returnable now in its current condition; I feel ripped off by the promises and hype around the product and the line and wish I had bought something else.Buy Mauviel M'steel Frying Pan, 11-Inch Now
