RSVP Endurance 15" Splatter Screen

RSVP Endurance 15' Splatter ScreenAfter buying a 15" Lodge cast-iron skillet, it was difficult to find a splatter screen to cover it.Thankfully, RSVP and Amazon came to the rescue. If you fry, saute', griddle, or must heat spice seeds, you need a splatter screen. If you own a big skillet, this is pretty much the only one out there for you, and it's easy to clean, too.

You know how every so often something arrives from Amazon, you pull it out of the box and think to yourself, "oh... THAT'S what I paid 30 bucks for?" This is one of those items. The screen is much lower quality than the picture (not magnifiable), the high price, and the 5-star reviews suggest. The handle is extremely flimsy and the welding to the screen has an odd yellowish color. The construction around the outside is also quite poor, with sandwiched pieces of stainless steel that don't fit together very well. This is also one of those items on Amazon whose price fluctuates daily ($30.49 when I bought it, $24.95 at the time of the review 2 weeks later). I wouldn't recommend paying more than $10.

It's so hard to find a 15 inch splatter screen and I was so happy when I found it at Amazon.Great quality at a great price.Definitely recommend this item if you need a splatter screen in this size like I do.

As the other reviewers have suggested, this is a splatter screen large enough to cover your biggest skillets.I use it on a 14" All Clad 6 Qt Saute pan, and it works quite well even though the small lift handle opposite the long stem handle doesn't allow the screen to sit perfectly flat on the pan.Anything smaller than this makes for a messy cook top.

Nonstick 4-Piece Egg/Pancake Ring Set

Nonstick 4-Piece Egg/Pancake Ring SetThese rings are the perfect size for making eggs to put on english muffins or small hamburger buns. (like the Breakfast Jack) I have not tried to make pancakes in them, because they would be really tiny and I do not have a need for perfectly round pancakes. This product consists of four separate rings that can connect to a handle.I have had my best results when I just use the rings by themselves and don't bother with the handle. The eggs still stick to the edge of the ring a little bit, so I have to tap the spatula against the ring as I am lifting it up (using a glove-style potholder. When the rings are all connected it is harder to get each egg out of the ring cleanly. Also, be aware that if your pan is a little warped, then a little bit of egg can leak from under the ring.If you just leave it, however, the little bit that leaks will cook fast and prevent more from leaking out.

Overall, I love these!I worked at Jack in the Box as a teenager and have always wanted egg rings.I gave it 4 stars just because the handle is kind of flimsy and it really is impractical to use for pancakes.

I had been looking for egg rings (without knowing what such a thing was actually called) for a long time before I happened upon these babies. As soon as I saw them I knew they were exactly what I had been looking for and ordered them on the spot.Unfortunately, my glee turned sour when I tried to use my new egg rings.

A lot of people report they haven't had a problem with sticking, but that is not consistant with my experience.Eggs stick to virtually everything, and these rings are no exception.Trying to remove the ring and flip the egg is a pain, usually I flip the ring and the egg flips with it, and then I have to cut the egg away from the ring so it falls down to the pan.

I love all kinds of yeast raised breads, and recently I discovered British crumpets. These are a kind of thick pancake batter raised with yeast, and cooked on one side until the top is dry.The top is covered with holes, which suck up the butter when you toast them.Crumpets can be made without rings, but they end up thin at the edges and thicker in the center less than perfect for soaking up that butter.I readily found crumpet rings galore in UK and AU, but finally discovered that they are called 'pancake rings' here in the states.I've never needed rings for pancakes, and several other reviewers are equally mystified as to why anyone would want perfectly round pancakes.

So buy these and try one of the many crumpet recipes online.

I couldn"t find any ringslocally to make my version of"egg mcmuffins". Took a chance on this product and "wow" is all I can say. No sticking what so ever. I sprayed them lightly with oil and had no problem at all.Highly recommend these.

I purchased this item because my husband wanted me to try out egg rings. After reading the reviews, this one had the highest recommends so I purchased. Read the reviews so I sprayed the rings with nonstick cooking spray first, made sure I had out my square 12"x12" pan so I could do all 4 rings at once.I cracked the eggs & started to fill each one with an egg, like others have mentioned a small amount leaks out but stops rapidly enough. Then I broke the yolk since I was making egg breakfast sandwiches, then I picked up the holder handle & handle came up & off but nothing else, so I agree lose the handle & holder, just use the rings & tongs/flipper/etc. to lift up when ready.Sometimes the egg does still stick to the side but just take your flipper & scrap around the inside edge & this usually works well enough.Like a few of the other reviewers have mentioned better than the eggs running into each other, eggs fit better on the muffin, biscuit, or bagel.I have not used for pancakes because that's a baby pancake 3.5" & I prefer a nice large one.If I had it all over to do again, I would look for a single nonstick round frame with a nice 2-3" handle with a wooden knob on top.Cleanup is a breeze.3 stars = it's OK.

Calphalon 3-pc. Unison Nonstick Sear and Slide Essentials Set with Lid

Calphalon 3-pc. Unison Nonstick Sear and Slide Essentials Set with LidThese pans are not light weight, thin sided aluminum. They are as thick, but not quite as heavy as my cast iron. So far I've not had to heat these above medium heat, and I still got a nice crusty sear on scallops and salmon on the sear surface pan. The slide pan works just as well on medium as any other I've used on high. These pans are a little on the pricey side for me, and the price seems to be locked in, same here as BB&B, the outlets etc. They don't appear to be prone to warping. I'll try to remember to edit this review in a few months to comment on the nonstick surface longevity.

UPDATE:

Well it is three months later. The pans still look fine, not scratched, scorched or warped. No metal utensils were used in them, never heated over medium. Only difference is, they're not non-stick anymore. I still use them, they are fine pans, just not non-stick anymore. I'll contact customer service at Calphalon to see if I can get them replaced as they are not abused. I will post my experience here as it may be instructive.

Great replacements for two of my favorite Calphalon Professional Nonstick pans losing their nonstick coating, after 10 or so years of use. Will send them back to Calphalon for replacements, but I have no idea what they will send back, if anything, under lifetime warranty.Meanwhile, these are great. Not so heavy, longer handles and helper handle on saute, which is useful.Liking the tempered glass lid, too fits both pans.$99 for two premium pans, plus the lid, is a pretty good deal.

All Clad Stainless Steel 13-Inch Non-Stick French Skillet with Loop Handle and Lid

All Clad Stainless Steel 13-Inch Non-Stick French Skillet with Loop Handle and LidSo... Most folks would say your are nuts for spending the amount of money that All Clad charges for just one pot or pan. But then, these are also the folks who will spend $99 for a set of 10 pots and pans at a discount store and then end up replacing them often. They'll also complain because their food with cook unevenly, burn, the pans will warp, the handles become loose... well, you get the picture.

When you buy All Clad, you are buying for life. Really!

All Clad pots and pans have a lifetime warranty. Cook with them once and you'll wonder why you used anything else.

Ina Garten said that she herself uses All Clad pots and pans and Wusthof knives. She noted they are expensive, but they really are a one-time purchase that lasts a lifetime. Even she suggested you can start small and add to your collection as your budget and needs allow. That's what I did and I have no regrets.

All Clad heats evenly, is very solidly constructed and remember... If you ever have a problem, if anything fails, All Clad replaces it for you, for free, no questions asked. Who wouldn't like that?

You cannot go wrong with an All Clad purchase. While the stainless steel is dishwasher safe, All Clad says that you should not place this pan in the dishwasher as it can affect the non-stick coating. I personally do put mine in the dishwasher, occasionally, on the top rack. Now, I am fully aware of the fact that if I have an issue some day, All Clad may not replace it because I put it in the dishwasher. I know folks who have done the same and All Clad has replaced it when the finish wore down.

I have not had any issues, but just wanted to make you aware that while all of the other All Clad stainless steel pieces are dishwasher safe, they don't want this one in the dishwasher.

However, like all of their other cookware, once you cook on All Clad, you'll wonder why you used anything else.

Don't buy the cheap stuff any longer... Make the investment in quality. You'll be glad you did!

The Product Details Indicated:

Product Dimensions: 22.1 x 13.2 x 3.6 inches ; 6 pounds. However, it wasn't 3.6" high, it's only 2" high/deep.The pan itself seems to be of the same usual quality that All Clad offers.I will keep the pan and I'll let you know if there are any other surprises.

Lodge Logic L8DOT3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Meat Rack/Trivet, 8-inch

Lodge Logic L8DOT3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Meat Rack/Trivet, 8-inchFirst of all it's Lodge. It's cast iron. It's American. These are all good things.

But I had to chuckle at a couple of the applications the other reviewers had for this handy little item. This isn't one of the first kitchen implements that you might put on your wish list, but it's surprisingly versatile.

Yes, you can put it in the bottom of your dutch oven, put your meat on top and let the fat drain. Yes, it's obviously a trivet. But I've also used it as a meat press yeah, Lodge makes a couple of presses, and one of these days... but in the meantime, flip at upside down on your bacon and it works fine.

I've also used it as a grilled sandwich press. Put it on a medium burner, toss your sandwich in your skillet, or griddle, then (with tongs or welding gloves) plop this little trivet on top of your sandwich. A couple of experiments is all it takes to get the right amount of heat to brown the top of your sandwich. If you need more weight, put some water in a saucepan and set it on the trivet the "legs" on the trivet keep the saucepan from cooling the trivet and your sandwich is nicely smushed.

But the weirdest use of all time? Olive pitter. No, I'm not kidding. I was making a salad the other night, and I wanted to chop some black olives into it. I grabbed a can of olives and opened it, only to discover that my wife had bought un-pitted olives. I hate pitting olives, but I started in, when my eye was caught by this little trivet and all those interesting holes. I grabbed the trivet, put an olive on end over one of the small holes and pushed with my thumb the pit jumped through the hole and left the meat on the other side. I grabbed a bowl, put the trivet on top and went through that can of olives in no time. Hint the holes are beveled, and the olives sit very nicely in the bevel, but they don't pit as well turn the trivet over and use the "flat" side of the hole.

So there you have it. A kitchen gadget with half-a-dozen uses for ten bucks. How can you go wrong?

I use this trivet over my gas stove burners or barbeque to heat tortillas like my grandmother used too. Also works great to fire roast chiles and peppers for salsa.

Just received my Lodge Meat Rack/Trivet. It arrived in perfect condition and shipping was fast and free. For those who complain about the legs being too short to keep the food out of it's juices please understand that's not it's purpose. It's designed to elevate the food just enough to keep it from scorching. If the legs were longer the same people would complain that it takes up too much room. If you must keep the meat out of the juices make 4 large balls from foil and place those under the meat rack.

If you cook some things in your dutch oven in a cake pan, put this in the bottom of the dutch oven first and it will help keep the bottoms of your cakes and biscuits from scorching--or put it under your roasts or chickens to keep them out of the fat that accumulates at the bottom of the pot.Because of the size, you can use it in all your dutch ovens over 8".It won't work as a trivet for a camp-style oven (with legs) because it's too small, but it's a compact, useful trivet for other hot pans and pots.

Old Mountain Pre Seasoned 10161 Cast Iron Pie Pan, 12 Inch x 9.5 Inch x 2 InchThe 12 inches are outside of handle to handle. The upper band is 9.75 inches. I really like the pans but one handle was broken due to poor packaging. They arrived packed with small plastic pillow air bags in an over sized box. This was not well thought out as the cast iron is heavy and crushed the air bags while sliding around the box. I would recommend wrapping in heavy paper to avoid damage. Any how, one handle broken is no big deal and it's still usable and with the 4 for 3 deal on the pans it was a bargain. Although they are pie pans I use them for yeast and corn bread too. Cast iron is versatile and will last a lifetime if maintained.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Stockpot with Cover

Cuisinart 766-24 Chef's Classic 8-Quart Stockpot with CoverI recently purchased this 12qt stockpot with a pasta insert and cover, and I couldn't be more pleased. The pot is beautifully made, with very confortable handles (another reviewer noted the finger grips -a nice touch) and the lid fits perfectly.

I used it for the first time to cook 2 chickens and make stock. Both chickens fit easily in the pot, yet allowed enough space for adequate water. It was very easy to bring the pot to a boil and then reduce to a very slow simmer, just a bubble or two breaking the surface.I used the simmer burner on my gas stove, and for the first time was able to maintain a simmer with the lid tightly on.With my old stockpot (large enough for only one chicken) even with the simmer burner at the lowest setting I could not maintain a simmer with the lid tightly on the pot.

The pasta insert made it a breeze to remove the chickens when they were cooked, and reduce the stock while I picked the meat off the bones and returned the bones to the pot in the insert to cook longer, more fully flavoring the broth.Removing the insert removed the bones and other parts, making straining the stock a simple one-step process. This same process with the pasta insert will make blanching vegetables from the garden MUCH easier and faster, and I'm looking forward to freezing the veggies from next summer's garden.

The pot is weighty and solid, yet With a full pot of water I can still lift and carry it, which I could never manage with an All-Clad 12qt stockpot.

I like this pot so much I just today ordered the Chef's Classic 7 piece set with bonus 2 1/2 qt sautee pan.I can hardly wait to have a lobster feed and sacrifice some of Maine's finest lobsters in this pot, served with sides cooked up in pots from my new set.I highly reccomend this stockpot and this cookware line.

No I don't need the huge several gallon type pot that I use to use when my family was at home, but this is just the right size to fit and boil corn, asparagus, and the chicken for soup or stew.

The handles are very comfortable and they really DON'T get hot. It, along with my other very small Cuisinart Chef pot are the only items I can ever recall that got a comment from my husband saying.. Whatever you paid for this it was worth it.

And he doesn't cook.. just puts the food away.

Cleans up well and I don't have to worry about scratching some coating or other.

I like it. It is very functional and nice looking..can't beat that.

Buy Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Stockpot with Cover Now

I too ordered this pot based on the Cook's Illustrated recommendation, and I am not disappointed. As a vessel I use primarily for handling large volumes of liquid, it is ergonomically nearly perfect. The height/diameter ratio is just right, as is the weight for a pot that will have to be carried full to the sink and then maneuvered to drain. As CI notes, the handles on both the pot and lid are particularly large, sturdy, and well designed.

For those who complain that the sides are not thicker/sturdier: Folks, this is a stock pot, not a dutch oven. You don't really need or want side heat for most purposes, and thicker would mean substantially heavier. As is, the sides are hardly flimsy, so this would be a poor trade off. Moreover, without sandwiching in more aluminum up the sides--WAY more expensive--thicker sides would merely add more weight without really improving performance or durability.

This review is very similar to one I wrote for another item in the Classic line, because the flaws I mention are endemic to the design of this particular series.

These pots come with a cover that seals if desired (using steam to form the seal). That's a plus, for further cooking process while the burner is off.

Another plus is that it heats evenly, and stays very warm even after sitting away from the burner for a while.(Five stars for this feature.)

The quality of the material is great and the pot is easy to clean in that it is made of stainless steel.

I do definitely like the weight of these Cuisinart pots; regardless of which line they're from. The Classic line is a bit heavier than the Everyday line. The Classic has a thicker bottom.(Another five star feature.)

But, it does have its flaws. The negatives have to do with the rivets, which are large to the point of absurdity. The rivets on a one and a half-quart saucepan, are the same size as those on this eight-quart stockpot.I was raised with riveted pots, and the rivets were never an intrusion back then. They were flatter and smaller, and they held just fine.

A very large, sturdy rivet makes sense with cookware that is designed to hold extreme weight. This pot simply isn't that big.

The rivets on the cover make it more difficult to clean because they stick up.The way they're attached on the outside of the cover is sloppy, and unnecessarily bulky. The outer fasteners holding the cover's rivets, catch on sponges and cloths, and irritate me no end.

In the case of this pot, one of the rivets leaks. Not only is it annoying, but it raises questions in my mind regarding sanitation. If it can leak, it means that small amounts of liquidy foods can plant themselves between the rivets and the interior side of the pot. That's not good.

Unless the level you're filling the pot is to be fairly low, the ingredients will probably have contact with the rivets. In the case of a stockpot, boiling at some point is usual, and contact is then, most likely inevitable.

I rarely use this pot.It doesn't hold a candle to the five quart Cuisinart stockpot I bought here.THAT pot is a dream.See the next paragraph for my rave (between the asterisks) about it.

This is not a cruel and unusual complaint, but a statement of fact.I am surprised that a company like Cuisinart would be so careless in design.*Another item, from a different line of theirs, the Everyday line, is the best pot I've ever owned, and that includes my Le Creuset ware.*See my review of that item for comparison, if desired.

Knowing what I do about this item, I would not buy it again.I got it here on special for under $30.00.A bargain price to be sure. But it sits in a cupboard untouched, because I simply hate the way it's made.

The handles get very hot.The handles on both the saucepot of this line, and the stockpot of the Everyday line DO NOT get hot.

I'm a cook of the old school.I always use potholders, no matter what kind of handles there are on cookware.Just a habit of mine, but it's a good one to cultivate.

There is one case where I will/do use this pot, and that is for making thick, dried bean recipes. It's very well made in terms of material weight/thickness, and the composition of the bottom, which is almost as good as cast iron, such as you, have with Le Cruset. For the purpose of slow cooking as with many dried bean recipes, it's fine.

If this pot were available in the Cuisinart Everyday line, I'd jump on it like greased lightning, and give this one to the Salvation Army thrift store.

As a postscript to this comment, I must say that these pots are covered by a good warranty, and if it were not so much of a hassle for me to return the pot that leaks, I'm sure I'd get another one from Cuisinart with no problem. If I had paid more for it than I did, I would go to the trouble of returning it.I do perceive Cuisinart to be a very reputable company.

Want Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Stockpot with Cover Discount?

You can spend easily $200.00 and more for a pot this size, but why do that if you can buy this Cuisinart for less than one fifth of that.It has the same 18/10 stainless, the same bolted handles, the same tight fitting covers, but not the same price. The encapsulated aluminum disc bottom does the trick.Heat rises from the bottom of the pan to the top which means this type of pan will heat up just as fast and just as well as the competitors $200.00 pan will and at a fraction of the price. The Cuisinart was top rated in the leading consumer magazine just a short time ago and they take no ads and answer to no one.

If you have money to waste, spend $200.00 or more on the leading competition's pot, but if you's rather not blow the extra $150.00 then buy the Cuisinart.

8-Inch ECLIPSE Nonstick Aluminum Frying Pan, Fry Pan, Saute Omelette Pan, Commercial Grade - NSF CertifiedThis is a good, solid aluminum saute pan with a tough non-stick coating. It works great. So why only 3 stars? Because the handle is awful. It's just a flat slab of aluminum that feels clumsy in your hand and, because it's the same metal as the pan, it gets just as hot as the pan. You cannot touch it while cooking without a potholder.

Pan Gripper Deep Dish Model

Pan Gripper Deep Dish ModelIf your a cook of homemade pizza, and you have the high sided pans used in making pan pizza, you'll wonder how you ever got along without this useful little item.I got mine from the same company that produces and sells the aluminum 14" pizza pans on Amazon. It has been well worth the purchase price of a few bucks, and is very well made and sturdy. What I like about the design is that the tighter you squeeze on the clamp handle the tighter it grips the pan. This clamping handle will also work on any high sided metal baking pan; I put it to the test by lifting a hot, food filled 10" cast iron skillet from the oven just the other day.It worked with no difficulty what-so-ever, and offered a great leverage advantage on a very heavy pan.I wouldn't use it with glass pans though, as the pressure would obviously crack them. But for cakes, pies, and of course pizza, you can't go wrong having one of these clamp handles available for lifting hot pans from the oven.

Amazon recommended this gripper along with fourteen inch diameter, 2" deep pizza pans.

It will not handle 2" deep pans, in fact most "grippers" on the market will not do 2" deep

pans.

This item had come up on what other customers had bought several times and after reading the reviews and burning myself a few times I decided to order. This is great for repositioning hot pans in the oven as well as lifting them. It really gripsthe pan. Also, a great item to have for the no knead bread baker. If you care for this item it will last a long time. Splatter screens are good for stopping splatter but also good for keeping heat in a a pan. It helps the food cook a little faster without totally blocking the airflow. I like to use it when the eggs are almost done cooking and you turn it off to set. It keeps the heat in the pan to finish off the eggs. I have also used it to set fried foods on to drain, and as a cooling rack for the to many cookies I baked. :) Think outside of the box and you will have lots of uses for your kitchen tools...no unitaksers! :)

Tramontina Limited Editions Barazzoni 12 Inch Full-Clad Copper Exterior Saute PanI sigh with pleasure when my eye catches my copper-clad Barazzoni pots hanging in my kitchen. The pots are beautiful and they perform excellently. They have an elegant shape; a soft, but sturdy feel to the handles, and they have a nice weight--not light-weight, but not too heavy to lift or maneuver either. The line is called "Butterfly" and it was designed by Claudio Bellini. They feel good. The cool-to-the-touch handles are made of oxidized metal that creates a dull black finish that compliments and highlights the gleam of the copper. The handles are on the slim side, but they still work fine for my long, thin fingers.

I am reviewing the 3.5 quart-size pan that is one of the sizes available here.It has a handled lid, and besides the long handle on the pan, there is also a "helper" handle on the opposite side.Looking at the pictures, it might not be obvious to see: The lid is shiny stainless steel with the same dull black handle as the pot.

I bought this size because I love my Calphalon Contemporary non-stick 13" diameter, deep-sided skillet. This pan is basically the same size.I really like the high walls--seems to serve my purpose more often than my low-sided 12" skillet.I also like the way the pots angle in slightly at the top--the shape seems to help hold and distribute the heat. I have a Viking gas cook top that does not allow a very low simmer flame and with this line of pots I can achieve a small, very slow bubble simmer that I usually cannot create and maintain.

How to clean? Cleaning these copper pots is a breeze if you use Wright's Copper Cream.Wright's Copper Cream Polish, 8-oz. This is a great product that never scratches (always make sure your sponge is clean and your pot is already washed.) "Elbow grease" is not necessary either, if you don't wait too long between treatments. You can clean a copper pot in a minute or two.

With this Barazzoni Butterfly line, I do not believe that quality or performance could be affected by pot size--they will all work wonderfully well. And the lip is the same on the entire line, so they should all be "dripless".

Unsurpassed in utility, quality, usefulness and beauty. If you can afford the price, buy as many as you can find magnificent.

Norpro KRONA Stainless Steel 8 Quart Multi Roaster

Norpro KRONA Stainless Steel 8 Quart Multi RoasterI received this roaster as a housewarming gift by our realtor several years ago.Although I knew it was a very nice gift, I'd never priced it until a friend asked for a recommendation on a roaster for a Thanksgiving turkey.I was really not terribly surprised at the price since I've used the roaster over and over and it still looks brand new, but I did have a renewed gratefulness for the gift! This roaster is very heavy, and with the deep lid, is also extremely versatile.I was a little concerned about food sticking, since I'd been raised using non-stick cookware, however, I was so pleased with the results that I no longer own non-stick cookware at all.Every roast, bird, or casserole I've made in this roaster has turned out beautifully. This is one item in my kitchen that I am certain will be passed down to my grandchildren some day.

I bought this in 2009 and used only during holidays and large gatherings, less than a dozen times in the last 3 years. This last month I noticed a chip through the interior stainless steel at the inside base of the roaster. Very disappointing particularly for the price purchased. It is a nice looking roaster, but it appears, not sturdy enough for the work. I no longer want to use it.

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless 3-Quart Sauté Pan with Glass Lid

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless 3-Quart Sauté Pan with Glass LidUnfortunately, this pan is no longer sold as an open stock item, and can only be found in sets, such as the 8and 13piece sets. Fortunately, I was able to buy it from a Marketplace seller for a very agreeable amount of $50.However, I do see that Amazon is selling it for $150, which is vastly inflated, but takes into account the fact that it can't be obtained without buying the 13 piece, $399 set.

This pan is just the right size for sauteeing, stir frying, you name it. It's not huge like it's big brother, the 5 qt. saute pan, but is suited to most normal cooking. The walls are deep enough to contain many dishes, which is nice. It's a bit heavy to hold one-handed (better for those fore-arm muscles!), and I appreciate the addition of a small handle on the other side.

Of most importance is its lid, for some reason, which Calphalon does not sell separately. It can fit snugly over this pan, the wok, the 10" omelette pan, AND the 8 qt. stockpot. Hey, it even fits some of my old pots as well. Thus, increasing the worth of this item.

Really, a terrific addition to any kitchen.

A note about cleaningafter extended use, there will be tarnishing and brown blemishes (at least on my gas range). To get rid of these, do NOT use Bon Ami because it's too gentle and doesn't get rid of stains.Best way to go is Barkeeper's Friend, about $2.50 at your local supermarket, or Cameo Stainless Steel Cleaner. However, Cameo is more abrasive than Barkeeper's Friend, and WILL reduce the mirror polish of these pans.Barkeeper's is the way to goremember to ALWAYS rub in a circular mannerback and forth will scratch the surfaces.

Just picked up this pan open-stock at Ross for $34 (5th Jan 2012).Cooked up a Thai Chicken Red Curry in it on the stovetop.Have to agree that the handle is somewhat skinny when trying to lift a full pan (don't try it unless you want the whole meal on the floor) but then again it does have the extra helper handle to make it a little easier to move about.Love that the lid can go in the oven.

Item was shipped and recieved as stated. Heft and finish are as good as expected. We pruchased this because of recommendations from a Consumer Report magazine artical. Have only used it twice, but it browns meats more evenly and quicker as compared to my coated skillets. Glad I purchased it. The reciept included with my purchase was hand signed with a "Thank You for doing business with us". That doesn't happen very much.

I assumed that this was an unopened new product and nothing from the sellers page leads us otherwise. It certainly looked new or possibly a returned item.It was not shipped in original packaging (just stuffed in a box wrapped with paper and labeled fragile).I purchased the accompanying 10" omelet pan at the same time, from a different seller, and it arrived in original packaging.

Otherwise, this pan looks perfectly good to my eyes.

And it arrived much sooner than expected!

Scanpan Professional 10-Piece Cookware Set

Scanpan Professional 10-Piece Cookware SetWe've had this cookware for 6 months now, and so far we've been very happy with our purchase. The nonstick works great everything comes off with no effort at all, but you can still get a good sear on items if you need to, which wasn't possible in our other nonstick.I've even burnt things in these pans and it came out like it was nothing!I love that Scanpans are environmentally friendly, and I'm hoping that I'll never have to try out the return policy! So far I've not noticed any nicks on the edges, which typically is the first sign of aging. My only complaint is that the lids can get VERY hot, and with the smaller pans this can make them a little difficult to remove. However, even the lids clean up with little effort!

This cookware is great. We purchased our first set in 1991.Here is the kicker, the company stands behind the product.Just this month, Jan 2010, two of the skillets that are 19 years old started sticking. We sent them back to the company and they set us new ones.It doesn't get any any better than that. The company stands behind the Lifetime warranty. If you want to purchase your last set of cookware, get Scanpan.

We've always loved scanpans. All their products have very durable non stick surface unlike normal teflon coated pots and pans. We purchased the professional set 8 months ago as we like the steel finish to the handles and lids. whilst we have no complains about the actual cooking surface, the biggest downside is that the metal handles on the pots and lids do heat up considerably. the set came with cloth holders etc, but it's inconvenient to have to put them on each time. One of the holder actually caught fire on our stove from an adjacent burner. My mother also burned her hand once when she picked up a pan handle which was close to an adjacent burner which had been on. The lids will be too hot to touch if you've been cooking with it on, but the end of the pan handles are cool enough to touch regardless of how long you've been cooking for. Bottom line is if you have metal handles/lids, it will conduct heat.

I learned from TV news that the traditional non-stick Teflon coating cookware can break down under heat or scratch off and cause cancer. Therefore, I have not been using them at all. I had changed to all stainless steel cookware last year. However, the food stick and can got darken easily (also cancer causing) and I have to use a lot of oil for cooking. I bought a few of this Scanpan fry pan about 3 months ago and I am happy with them. Last month, I bought the Healthy Legend Ceramic Coating fry pan and soup pot and tried it for 2 weeks. The Healthy Legend cookware seems to be even better made and the ceramic coating is even better. The Healthy Legend had a German made ceramic coating call Weilburger Greblon. Compare to the Scanpan's ceramic titanium coating, they are about the same for cooking, cleaning, durability. The Healthy Legend's coating is gray color. It is no problem to me but it is not traditional black color. The color didn't change during my use. I think you can do no wrong using either brand. However, I am not sure if titanium have small health issue. However, if I don't try to scratch the coating off, it should be pretty good. The coating for both are much more resistance to scratch off than Teflon. I found on the Internet the following information (Effects of overexposure to titanium powder: Dust inhalation may cause tightness and pain in chest, coughing, and difficulty in breathing. Contact with skin or eyes may cause irritation. Routes of entry: Inhalation, skin contact, eye contact.

Carcinogenicity: The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has listed titanium dioxide within Group 3 (The agent is not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans.)

For now, I have total 3 Scanpans and 3 Healthy Legend ceramic coating cookwares. The Healthy Legend seems to be slightly better and cheaper. I will give you updates after a few more months.

Let me count the ways I love this product!!!

Full disclosure; I'm a burner. About one out of three times I cook oatmeal I wander off, only to return to smoking blackened cereal. Normally that leads to soaking and scrubbing, but with the Scan Pan, I simply tipped the charcoal disk into my compost. The pan was clean. A miracle.

I researched non-toxic, non-stick pans on all the healthy-food sites I could find, and they all came back with Scan Pan as the best. I love the look, the feel (not too heavy, great handles) the vented lids, the quick and efficient heating (I'm sure I'm using less gas-not kidding), and the fact I can use metal utensils. But it's the cleanup that sends me. You have to see this to believe it.

I've told our daughter that I know what she's getting for a wedding present, and she's not even engaged.

Norpro Nonstick Mini Donut Pan

Norpro 6-Count Nonstick Donut PanI LOVE this pan! I have also bought 'cheaper' versions and found them to be far inferior. The cheaper pans have a seam ridge on the top around each donut cavity that catches batter and snags cleaning cloths. They are much thinner and lighter than this pan and therefore do not heat as evenly. Also the donut cavities in the cheaper versions are not as deep and the hole maker is much smaller, resulting in a donut that is not 'pleasing to the eye' and looks more like a cookie with a small hole in the middle. This pan cooks evenly every time and the donuts come out looking 'professional' and deliciously tempting! I highly recommend this pan!

We like this pan but if you buy it MAKE SURE you season it before making your first batch. We didn't with ours and the we had to throw out the first batch of donuts because they tasted like metal.Just put it in a 400 degree oven for about 10 min. b4 making your first batch.

This is really great for making cake donuts.

I was surprised to see a review saying they had problems with their donuts sticking to the pan. I haven't run into that at all. One of the things I love about this pan is how you don't need any oil. You do need to let them cool about 5-10 mins before removing. Maybe that's why your donuts are sticking?

I would buy two if I were buying again though, because who only makes 12 mini donuts at a time?

This is the best kitchen purchase I have ever made! I regularly make vegan donuts, and have always struggled with achieving the conventional donut form. With this pan, you simply spoon your batter in the molds and 10 minutes later, you have perfect donuts! I recommend spraying a bit of cooking spray into the molds to ease pulling the donuts out with this method you're guaranteed to get perfect donuts with nothing sticking in th pan! I will be purchasing another one so I can make a dozen at a time!

I like the pan, it is well made and serves the purpose. The holes are very small and getting batter to go in and not get all over the middle is hard. The pan itself is great though and really good at the non-stick, and very heavy duty. If I buy anymore, I will make sure I get the bigger size though. Small one is hard to maneuver batters into without making a terrible mess.

Cuisinox Elite 3.7 Quart Covered Chef's Pan

Cuisinox Elite 3.7 Quart Covered Chef's PanI have been cooking with this pan since I received it.It performs very well. It is in compact size with very nice capacity. And if you put a rack in the pan, you can use it to steam lots of stuff, thanks to the dome lid.Overall, I like this pan.

I do wish the handle could be a bit wider and thicker, so it would be much easier to hold when I need to pour things out.Although the handle stays cool, the lid gets hot quicklier than I expected. Also the pan came with very heavy machinery grease smell.I had to clean it really well before the first use.

Mr. Bar-B-Q Cast-Iron Ribbed Fajita Platter Set

Mr. Bar-B-Q Cast-Iron Ribbed Fajita Platter SetI bought two and they were better than I expected. The cast-iron pans are perfect for fajitas, but they also work great for a couple of hamburgers, bacon, veggies or anything else you'd like to "grill" on the stove (or on a real grill) when you don't need big, round, cast-iron pan.The top varnish on the wooden pan-holders quickly gets toasted, but that's part of it's charm, it goes with the cast iron. The little pot-holders for the handles are great for the table, but a larger mitt is safer while grilling.NOTE: this IS cast iron and you will need to properly "season" the pans before you first use them to keep food from sticking.

We bouight this set, not just for fajitas, but for meat/veggies after grilling. They work great and keep food hot. Also, the mitts work good when transporting the food to the platters. No unwieldy pot holders to deal with, another nice feature.

I had always wanted to buy sizzler platters, but since I needed three, I was looking for the right price, which I found at amazon. I followed the instructions very carefully before use so that they will last me for a long time. The wooden base and the handle holders make it very convenient and comfortable to hold. We use them atleast once a week and enjoy homemade sizzlers.

This is probably one of the best purchases I have made for our kitchen in some time.

It really helps the presentation for serving fajitas.I would recomend buying more than one if you want to serve more than one person, or two light eaters. The pour spouts work great, and seasoning this was much easier than my Dutch oven.
