Maverick Mesh BBQ Grill 12-Inch Fry Pan

Maverick Mesh BBQ Grill 12-Inch Fry PanQuite simply, this mesh basket works great for grilling veggies. The metal handle can get hot after awhile -I've surprised myself a few times by grabbing the handle too close to the basket. Otherwise, this basket grills conveniently. The shape of the basket makes it ideal for flipping veggies for more event grilling.

Great Sturdy Mesh BBQ Accessory

Love the removable handle and easy access to veggies when finished cooking

These are awesome, you can grill little things that have been to tough to control on a grill; I've grilled peas, corn kernals, fava beans, cloves of garlic

Another great thing about this is that the handle detaches (relatively painlessly) so you can close the grill and not have to worry about hot handles.

Also a whole lot more durable than I expected!

I tried using the product and it was too bulky for my grill.I burned the vegitables because I was not sure how to cook using this pan.I tried to find the manufacturers website to see if they had asome good directions on how to cook things in it, but there was nothing there.I would return this item, but since I used it...I figure I cant??

Breville BGR820XL Smart Grill

Breville BGR820XL Smart GrillBefore buying the Breville, I exhaustively researched the alternatives, and looked at the Breville, the Cuisinart Griddler and some of the Foreman models at stores. I actually purchased the Cuisinart Griddler but returned it, after seeing the Breville.Apologies for the length, but if you are trying to decide among all the models, the following might help you.

(1) Many cooking sites and independent reviewers complain that these type of grills are often too small and too underpowered to really cook food effectively. That is where the Breville is superb, at 1800 watts, and isn't that what a grill is for -fast, hot, and effective cooking? But high and even heat is an integral part of the Breville design. The biggest difference between the Breville Smart Grill and the Cuisinart Griddler is that the heating elements in the Breville are embedded *inside* the Breville plate itself. The underside of the Breville plates shows the embedded element, and the electrical connection is on the underside, that plugs into the Breville itself. This means the Breville plates heat directly; heat faster; heat more uniformly; and include their smart technology to detect cold meat and immediately turn up the heat. With the Griddler, the heating element is exposed and open and is not part of the plate, and lacks any of this technology. The Breville definitely heats up faster and I measured more consistent heating across the plates as compared with the Griddler.I believe that the Foreman works the same way as the Griddler with regards to those Foreman grills with removable plates, but I can't definitely verify that. Why would anyone buy those models of Foreman with plates that can't be removed for cleaning?

(2) This means that the Breville must have two separate sets of plates, one with ridges for grill and a flat one for griddle. So that means you must buy two more plates to get the same advantage as the Griddler since the Griddler plates are reversible. But the Griddler plates lack the built in and embedded heating elements. So you get what you pay for.

(3) The hot heating element of the Griddler is also directly cooking the non-stick surface of whatever side is "reversed" and on the inside of the Griddler.A store that sold both suggested that this might explain why some have had problems with the non-stick surface of the Griddler. (But I suspect that most problems are caused by the caustic soap of dishwashers.I hand wash my Breville plates with the Foreman sponges (see below) and they wash off in a snap -less than one or two minutes of washing.)

(4) Both the Breville and the Griddler have a lid that can be set flat, for doubling the griddle surface.Do any Foreman grills do that?I don't think so.This is a really useful feature that doubles the usefulness of these appliances.

(5) The Griddler has no tilt for the grease and juice to roll off.So with the Griddler the juice and grease just sits there during cooking. The Breville tilts down like the Foreman grills, and it really works when cooking three or four hamburgers. But the Breville can also be set to be flat when used as a griddle for pancakes or eggs, so the pancake batter doesn't also roll off!I believe that *only* Breville included this feature -to be set at either an angle, for grease, or perfectly flat, for pancakes.

(6) The Griddler includes a small grease tray that pulls awkwardly out from the side.Breville has a really large tray that pulls straight in and out from the front, and that is far more convenient if you have limited counter space -especially on the side that the tray pulls out on the Griddler.Foreman grillsare bigger losers in this regard, with a grease tray that just sits on the front, waiting to be tipped over.

(7) Both the Calphalon and the Breville have a feature whereby the floating lid can be set to ride higher than the bottom plate, so the lid doesn't mash down the food. The Cuisinart lacks this, and just mashes down the food. But look at both in a store. This feature on the Calphalon is not very sturdy and looks like it would break. The Breville is rock solid when set to hang over the food, and can therefore be set way above the food, for open-faced sandwiches.8) I'm not an expert on non-stick surfaces, but the Breville surface appeared thicker and more durable than the Griddler.

(9Finally, the Breville is larger than the Griddler, and big enough to cook for more than one or two people, but is not that much larger than the Griddler. The Griddler, in my opinion, is too small. The Breville is just the right size for more than one person.

(10) Buy the Foreman sponges when you order the Breville. The grooves in the Breville grill plate match those on the Foreman sponges perfectly.

(11) The Breville doesn't include a grooved spatula to push through the grease, as does Foreman and Cuisinart.I ordered some of the Foreman spatulas, and they work on the Breville. Breville should include those plastic spatulas, as does Foreman and Cuisinart.

(12Yes, Breville should include two more plates as the other reviews have indicated. The Breville and two additional plates (for a set of two grill and two griddle plates) is $399, and that is a lot to pay for an appliance like this. That is four times more than the Griddler.Breville should include the plates to be more competitive in the marketplace. It should be noted, though, that the Breville as packaged for $299 with one grill and one griddle plate would give you the grill marks on the top side of your meat, and the hamburger or steak would cook on the bottom side on the griddle just fine.

CONCLUSION -But you get what you pay for in this case.If you want the best, it is the Breville. But it does cost three times more, as compared with the Griddler, with one grill and one griddler plate.Breville needs to include two more plates, for two griddle and two grill, and do so for $299. But like others who reviewed the Breville, I purchased the unit with the extra plates for $399 and highly recommend it.

ADDITION OCTOBER 24 2011 -Additional plates can be purchased from Breville or William Sonoma.Additional grease drip trays can be purchased from, using a standard web address: (I hope Amazon leaves this up, since you don't sell the part)

I then have extra sets of plates and trays, and just wash two sets of both in the dishwasher once a week or so.I'm single and it takes me that long to fill a dishwasher even part way. However, all of these parts hand wash very easily, especially with the George Foreman sponges that fit the grill plate grooves perfectly. But I'm lazy and prefer to use the dishwasher.

I've been cooking on this grill for about 3 months and it is wonderful! The smart grill has two removable plates, one with ridges (the grill plate) and one that is smooth (a griddle plate). You can make delicious food right out of the box without buying anything else, but I plan to buy another set of plates so that we have two of each kind. The grill will open flat and both sides heat, so you can see the possibilities you would have with two plates of each kind. Functionally, the digital controls on the grill make it very easy to use. It has three basic settings: low, panini, and sear, which take you from 320 to 450 degrees. You can use the dial to set a precise temperature and a cooking time. Since both plates heat, the grill warms up quickly and is ready to cook much faster than a regular oven or outdoor grill. One reviewer mentioned problems with smashing her food. The top plate can be adjusted to not touch, just touch, or even press down on the food. To get the effect you want, read the instructions and play around with the sliding knob on the side of the top plate while the grill is cold, before you are ready to start cooking. I smashed some hamburgers the first time out, but the level of the top plate is not really hard to adjust -you just need to practice for about 5 minutes to see how it works.

Clean up is super easy. The grill has a knob that lets you tilt it a little to catch runoff of juices or grease. The plates' non-stick surface works great. I've burned a little food on them several times while learning to cook and it is no problem to get the mess off. After many uses, our grill still looks almost new. It is such a sturdy, classy looking appliance that we have given it permanent counter space. We have made all kinds of breakfast foods on this grill -bacon and link sausage come out especially well, much better than in a pan because you can cook both sides at the same time and drain the grease away while you are cooking. This means the meats will have nice, crispy brown crust and you will get a little less fat! The grill is also great for seafood. We have made some wonderful salmon fillets and shrimp. Quesadillas are also so easy -and a fun project for older children. And of course, you can make endless varieties of panini. Finally, because the grill can be locked in the closed position and stored upright, it is easy to transport if you like to tailgate. Can you smell the sizzle? Buy this with some silicone tipped tongs.

I have to be honest here. This was my first Breville product. I have always been a Cuisart or Kitchenaid kinda guy, but not anymore. While this product is a little pricey, it is worth its weight in gold & built to last. There are so many uses for this Smart Grill! I have made steak, paninis, pancakes, shrimp skewers, burgers, hotdogs, chicken, french toast, crepes, you name it you can do it! What I love about this grill is that there is an extremely accurate temperature gauge & a timer as well! The temperature gauge even tells you what certain temperatures can do, for example, there are low settings, panini settings & searing settings. Whats great about this grill is that there are no cool spots. Everything cooks evenly. I live on the 3rd floor of an old colonial, so if I want to BBQ its a pain for me, to go up and down the stairs 10x while my burgers are cooking, this grill is perfect for counter top cooking. The smart grill allows you to interchange the cooking plates too ( In the original package, you get one flat top (griddle) & one grill pan (looks just like a real grill top) but you can go on& purchase additional plates. This is exactly what I did. I can now have a full grill or a full griddle if I choose at anytime! We always have friends visiting with us and this makes for easy breakfast and dinner! In the morning we can easily fit 10 pancakes on the full griddle at once! When we are grilling we can easily fit 12 hamburgers or 4-6 steaks depending on the size. All in all this grill is a quality product and I would recommend it to EVERYONE! If you buy this grill and don't like it, feel free to email me and I will gladly take it with a smile!!

Hope this Helped!

I bought the Breville Countertop oven (BOV800XL) a little over a year ago and I continue to love it, so I thought I'd take the plunge and get a Breville panini maker which was on sale. This was their cheap version which does not have many controls and has non-detachable griddle surfaces. I hated it and returned it promptly.I was surprised at the poor quality in light of it being made by Breville.

Despite this experience, something made me consider this "top of the line" Breville griddle which I'd been resisting (it cost more then their countertop oven and offering less utilityso I thought!)I purchased it on impulse, preparing myself to be disappointed.I'm NOT..I love it.

Today I grilled eggplant rings which I very lightly brushed with olive oil. After grilling them I topped them with sauce, mozz slices and a sprinkle of parm cheese.I raised the level of the top griddle to melt but not touch the cheese. My huband claimed it was more delicious then traditional eggplant parmasan.Definately less fattening.Every day I have a new discovery that makes this griddle so much fun.

The removeable, interchangable, replaceable griddle surfaces are fantastic. The griddle heats up quickly. It looks very impressive on the counter. Its surfaces are very easy to clean. I also like to keep my countertop appliances unplugged when not in use and Breville has designed a brilliant plug with a finger grip hole that makes this easy to do. It's beautifully designed.

The only reason I am giving this product 4 stars is because it only comes with one flat plate and one ribbed plate. For the cost, it should come with 2 of each....By the time you purchase another set of plates to have two of each, you've got $400 wrapped up in this bad boy.

The grill works incredibly.Preheats fast, leaves great grill marks, is completely non-stick, and it just feels completely solid (Weighs 21 pounds).

Foreman Grills are ez-bake ovens compared to this bad boy.

Breville service is great too I had an issue with one of my plates and I e-mailed their support. Within a week I had a replacement plate on my doorstep.Nice to see that there is quality service to go along with this premium product.

Farberware Premium Aluminum Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set with Stainless Handles, Platinum

Farberware Premium Aluminum Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set with Stainless Handles, PlatinumI got these pans as a "oh-gosh-I'm-moving-I-need-new-pans-QUICK" set. They were on sale, so I figured above $50 and under $100 for a nice set of pans would last me a few years. All I have to say is... meh. These pans are mediocre. The nonstick coating is nice and seems to be lasting well (2 months into using them every day). However, they are really, really light! As someone who cooks every day, I prefer pans that can stand up to any saute-ing, whisking, stirring, or shaking I can throw at them. I have to be careful what I put into thesenothing really heavyor they'll be off balance and difficult to use.

These pans will work great for someone who doesn't cook a lot, like a college student, or just for like scrambling eggs and reheating soup every now and again. For someone who loves cooking, though, these are not a viable option. I don't expect these to last me more than a year at best, since they already have scratches and deep stains. I'll be looking for some heavier, pricier ones soonor better yet, building my own set from individual pieces.

This is not a heavy duty set of pots and pans. Before buying mine I did some research and discovered that I could save alot of money on a good set of pans by making sure to care for them properly. I think if you do that with these, you'll be pleased. While I don't think you'll be giving them to your children and them to theirs, they'll probably last a kid through 4 years of college or so. Lightweight, handles stay cool, they really, really do clean up easy. Just don't use metal utensils or full blast heat on them and you're good to go.

I purchased an individual piece from this set at a discount retailer. I was in the market for a open stock circulon frying pan but just didn't want to spend the money at the time. I picked the small frying pan up in the store and noticed the weight on it was decent, the bottom sturdy and the handle rubber (these on amazon are metal...) I cooked two omelets this morning for my fiance and I and used spray oil on the first one to make sure it did not stick. The second one I used no spray. Both omelets released from the pan beautifully and I even let the second one sit a little longer, almost to see if it WOULD stick. It didn't. I don't think these are the greatest pans, they aren't heavy duty but they won't warp easily either. We are getting married in September and I just switched the expensive set of cookware on our registry to this. I figure, if it lasts us four years, at this price, I will be pretty pleased. I like to use low heat for cooking because I believe its easier on your stove and your cookware, I think if these are well taken care of they will last just fine. :)

T-fal A777SI64 Initiatives Nonstick Inside and Out Dishwasher Safe 18-Piece Cookware Set, Red

T-fal A777SI64 Initiatives Nonstick Inside and Out Dishwasher Safe 18-Piece Cookware Set, RedAs a guy who's wife took everything, I was reduced to boiling eggs in the kettle, or worse yet microwave. This set, even with the large postage to Australia, allowed me to get a good range of pots and pans at a great price.

This set is far better than the stuff she took.

It would have been good if the griddle was a bit bigger though.

I hope these are as good as our old set. When we were first married we bought what we could afford, back then it was a small set of T-fal.The other day I thought that it was time for a new set of pots & pans. Our other ones were OK but it was getting time.I was thinking that we could actually afford one of those pricey sets that I hear people talking about, but then I realized that we had bought our old set right after we got married and we have been married 29 years this September. That settled it for me,why get a set that would cost a lot of money that I am not sure how good it would work when I could get the same ones that have worked great and are still working well enough that I am going to pass them on to my daughter. My daughter got a set of very expensive pots & pans as a wedding gift five years ago and has already had to throw one pot away after she made candy in it.The stuff stuck so bad that she finally just gave up on it.I have burnt fudge in my T-fal and just wiped it out with a paper towel! My daughter also told me that her set had an odorthat she could not get rid of,she is thrilled to be getting my old T-fal and I am thrilled to have my snazzy new RED ones!!

They were delivered so fast I barely had a chance to complete my order. So yea T-FAL.&yea AMAZON!!!

Overall, I love the set.I would have given it four stars because it cooks well and the color goes great with my kitchen. However, it's only been about four months since I purchased it and the handles are already loose. Also, what's up with that one egg frying pan, seriously, that was such a waste.I would have preferred another cover for the larger frying pan or even a steamer would have been great. For the price it's not a bad deal.My first set was much more durable. I'm really hoping this set lasts as long but I'm doubtful.

Emeril by All-Clad E9191364 Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle Cookware, Black

Emeril by All-Clad E9191364 Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle Cookware, BlackAfter I ordered this griddle from Amazon, I read reviews of Emeril cookware, and was really scared. It seems the bottom of pans *melt*! It was too late to cancel my order (in this case Amazon sent my order through immediately), so when the griddle arrived, I tried it out right away. It worked great and was totally non-stick.

I concluded that the griddles are made differently than the pans, since they're one layer of anodized metal and don't melt like the pans do which have layers of different metals on the bottom. So no one needs to avoid buying this griddle. I compared the quality with griddles at Walmart, and it's heavier and of better quality. The griddle heats up fast and cooked my pancakes quickly, so there's no need to use high heat for cooking.

The instructions that came with the griddle did warn against melting aluminium, but I doubt that those instructions apply to the hard anodized griddles. Perhaps because of poor reviews of Emeril cookware, this griddle was heavily discounted, so the price was excellent, about 50 percent off list price.

I did some research and found the quote below about anodizing, so there's no worry about high heat with this griddle:

"Hard anodizing produces an extremely durable pan that has twice the hardness of stainless steel. This cookware has an extremely long lifespan and can resist abrasion and corrosion. The surface will not chip or peel and it can handle extremely high heat levels without damage to the finish."

This is the second square griddle I've owned thus far, the first being an Anolon one which has lost all of its non stick properties and is warped(bowed out in the center area). This one seems to be going the way of the first. The non stick properties are ok so far (as is with most non sticks in the first six months of use), but the originally flat surface has "bloated" up in the center to the point where liquid will run to the sides and cooking pancakes and sunnyside up eggs has become a bit tricky.Might be my fault(or might not be?) as I used it a few times on med-high heat on the gas range to sear meat, but still disappointing for it to warp so.

Also on a purely cosmetic note, the pan looks really cheap(to where I wouldn't have paid its price if I saw it on a store shelf). The handle in Amazon's picture looks shiny(like 18/8 stainless) but in reality it has a dull stamped metal look to it(because it is:).Sure it doesn't affect the cooking but it also doesn't add to buyer satisfaction.

I don't think it's an especially great deal at it's current $25 price.

I have several pieces from this line that were purchased over the past few years and have not been disappointed in any of them. This piece is so light weight. It slides all over my cook top. Not good for baby-on-the-hip, one-handed cooking. Today I was making pancakes on this griddle and realized is had warped. I've had the pan since December and have not put it in the dishwasher. So I'm not sure why it warped. Anyway, disappointed in this piece...

My Wife and I received this "griddle" for a wedding gift. We had to return it because of warping....

I cook eggs every morning so I used this pan only as my "egg" pan. It survived the first 30 days of cooking eggs. Then it slowly started to warp. It has warped a 1/4" high in the middle. Returning it to Macy's was no problem. BUT now...Macy's stopped carrying it.

I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SUPPORT TWICE to get a required RMA #....So far, it's been two weeks and I haven't heard back from them.

This set surprised me. Light weight but they will still blacken a filet when you can't grill it. Bayou Classic 7400, 4-Qt. Cast Iron Dutch Oven with Dutch Oven Lid

Bayou Classic 7400, 4-Qt. George Foreman SKG01GFB 12-by-15-Inch Electric Skillet with Glass Lid

George Foreman SKG01GFB 12-by-15-Inch Electric Skillet with Glass LidGeorge Foreman's name is associated with quality small appliances and this electric skillet is no exception. This medium size appliance is manufactured with a nonstick cooking surface, a diecast base, and heat resistant side handles. It looks very nice on your countertop with its black color and glass lid and it can be used to prepare many different foods.

This skillet has met and exceeded my expectations in every category. It takes only two or three minutes to reach the temperature of your choosing and the nonstick surface is so easy to clean, there is really no need to place it in a dishwasher. It is dishwasher safe if you remove the probe, but it cleans so easily, there isn't any need.

Among the many positive qualities with this electric skillet, one of the most important is its depth. Many electric skillets are shallow in design, and this severaly limits their usefulness. But this electric skillet offers plenty of depth, and that means you can use it to heat/cook foods containing liquid without any worries. The liquid won't spill, making this George Foreman Electric Skillet more versatile than most.

Another quality I like with this electric skillet is the glass lid. True, there is the added risk of breakage, but as long as you handle with care, this should not be an issue. The good thing about glass is that you can see the food as it cooks and glass makes for a more attractive appearance. With most stovetop skillets, the lids are solid metal and that means you can't see the food as it cooks. And don't worry that the lid will blow offthere is a small, round opening in the top for ventilation purposes.

George Foreman will always be known for his skill as a professional boxer, but he is eually skilled when it comes to sales of small appliances and this electric skillet is one of his best. It can be used to fry several foods at once or to keep food warm, with high walls to hold foods in place. Cleanup is a breeze and the appliance looks very attractive on most any kitchen counter. Could there be anything bad to say about this appliance? Not that I can see, and this makes it one of the best small appliances I have purchased in a long time.

Many other non-stick skillets reviewed here seem to have problems of one kind or another. When I bought this one, there were no reviews but I have two other George Foreman products one is an outdoor grill and the other is an indoor classic double-sided Foreman grill that really works well so I decided to give this one a shot. I'm glad I did! It works very well. The temperature control seems accurate, it really does take just a minute to clean up, whatever you are cooking doesn't stick and the see-through glass cover is very handy for watching items cook that require the lid to be on. It is generously sized and relatively light weight.

I gave this skillet 3 stars because it's just OK.It heats up quickly and gets very hot (almost too hot). When the thermostat shuts off the heat, whatever you are cooking stops cooking and then continues when the heat comes back on.Simmering is almost non-existent.

The non-stick surface is good (no problems).Clean up is fairly easy considering this skillet is non-submersible in water.

If I had known these things, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

I received this skillet for Christmas. this is my first electric skillet though I have used my moms in the past.

I really like this skillet. It is a large size which allows me to cook larger meals with out having to use the oven. I use it a loot for browning meat, making breakfast (pancakes cooking bacon/sausage, eggs, But my favorite use is for pasta meals I start by preparing the sauce in the skillet, i brown the meat in a separate pan add it and once the noodles are done drain them and add as well. The skillet is large enough to mix it all around (adding pasta to the sauce is a great way to prevent clumping vs keeping separate)with out creating a mess and helps keep it warm for seconds!

There are many things I really like about this frying pan; the size, the non-stick surface, but I have to agree with some other reviews about the inconsistent heating. I've used electric frying pans for 40 years and have never had this problem. There is no way to simmer foods. Either the heat is on or it's off. This makes it hard to leave the house while preparing something like sauce or chili, which need to slowly simmer for several hours. This would be a great product if this aspect could be improved.

Cast Iron Skillet 12-inch (Pre-Seasond, Ready to Use)

Cast Iron Skillet 12-inchA fine product no complaints came as described and in perfect condition looks just like the one my mother used to cook with back in the day and its true what they say fried food does taste better when cooked in a cast iron skillet!

Delonghi BG24 Perfecto Indoor Grill

Delonghi BG24 Perfecto Indoor GrillI am very satisfied with this grill; I have also given it as a gift to a relative who also loves it and uses it frequently.

Some of the problems described here (not hot enough, etc.), in my opinion, stem from improper use.Like any grill, you have to let it warm up, before plopping quarter pound hamburgers on it. My daughter over-cooked chicken breasts on it(they looked great (grill lines, etc.) but they were dry)--so the comments here about the heating element not working are simply not true.

I love the glass top that contains spattering; I also line the bottom of the grill (when cooking) with aluminum foil to make clean up easier. The grill itself is something of a pain to clean, but I put mine in the dishwasher and it comes out great.

This grill performs very well, but you have to allow sufficient time for the heating element to get the grill hot and choose the correct heat settings in connection with what you are cooking--not exactly rocket science, but judging from the reviews here, some people obviously find this challenging.

I got this grill about a week ago and I love it. First of all the cooking area is BIG.. and wonderful so that you can really cook. I also love how you can adjust the heat setting depending on what you are cooking instead of like my former George where it was 1 temp was supposed to cook all ( which burnt the outside of thick pieces of meat and chicken breast and left the inside way underdone)I also love how the fat drips down immediatlyinto the tray. On my George ( a big one) the fat would come sort of off one burger and then run into the other burger and stay therewithout ever going into the tray thing. Clean up is alot easier than George because I can stick all of it except the temp control into the sink or dishwasher to wash. I also like the lid that keeps the food from drying out while cooking and warm before it is served. I will admit it is not as fast as George but honestly the quality of food I cook is so much better b/c it has been cooked right and not just fast. This grill IMO is much more similar to cooking on an outside grill and the taste is better for it. I highly reccomed this product over it's competition, there is no comparrison! Move over George, YOU GO GRILL!

I have had my grill for a week, we've cooked lean steaks on it, pork chops, and the other night we cooked hamburgers on it.This is my first indoor grill so when one review mentioned the "George Foreman" grill was a bit faster, I was amazed I thought the Delonghi cooked pretty fast!!Clean up was really easy and one MUST remember to preheat it.I gather some have not.And as to smoking I haven't had any but then I buy lean meats and put water in the bottom if I think the food will drip a lot of fat.Fat dripping into the large tray in the bottom is what burns and causes the smoke.I've only used water once, with the hamburgers (no smoking). This really is a great grill and large enough to be more than satisfying (actual cooking space is 15"x11").Ease and comfort of use is amazing.I highly recommend it!

I've had this grill for about 2 years now but I've only used it about four times. After using it the last time I noticed blistering of the grill non-stick coating (Teflon?).I was able to scratch this off in a few places with my fingernail to verify if the coating was blistering or if these spots were just imperfections underneath.I wasn't pleasantly surprised to find that the blistering came off easily and that this could be in my food the next time I use it (healthy grilling!). I had many flects of coating on the table after running my fingernail over the blisters exposing the bare metal of the grill.

I therefore cannot recommend this product to anyone.By the way, I've only used a soapy sponge to clean the grill and never used metalic utensils on in while cooking. The "blistering" of the teflon tells me that the metal of the grill was not primed correctly before the coating was applied.Has this happened to anyone else? Before I throw this grill away I'm going to try to contact the manufacturer and see if they can replace the grill element seeing how this looks like a manufacturing defect.

This is the third Delonghi grill I have owned. The first was very similar to this model in that it had a non-stick surface. It was great.I had to replace it after 2-3 years since the power plug in unit broke.I replaced it with a Delonghi unit that did NOT have a non stick surface. It was impossible to clean.I returned it for astore credit and bought the Perfecto from Amazon on-line.I have used it 2-3 times a week since I got it.It is easy to use, easy to clean and I am very pleased with the unit.

The temp control never raised the temperature high enough for frying. I could have returned it but it was too big a hassle but I did write the company to let them know. I did not have high expectations at the outset and should have known that the price was too low for the quality I expected. Problem is that few people carry items designed for small households and shopping on the internet is a crap shoot.

Have prepared for long-term use many types of non-stick products. Don't remember any giving up so soon. Used this little, otherwise practical, handy and pleasant pan for frying a cutup slice of spam and then adding eggs ovaeasy mix. The third morning, the egg began sticking to the pan, and it takes awhile for my nylon spatula to gently scrape of the baked-on residue. Not at allwhat one would expect, but still in use.

Cuisinart 71-2228CG Chef's Classic Stainless 2-Piece Glass Lid Set

Cuisinart 71-2228CG Chef's Classic Stainless 2-Piece Glass Lid SetCuisinart 71-2228CG Chef's Classic Stainless 2-Piece Glass Lid Set

There are a few reasons why I ordered these lids.A good cook can always use an extra lid as some skillets do NOT come with one, would be one of the best reasons.Saying this, I ordered a 9 and 11 inch Paula Deen Skillet set and they did NOT have lids. They are excellent in every other aspect, but I prefer to cover while I cook certain items.

I checked through Amazon and I found these Cuisinart lids that were glass with a stainless steel ring for the seal. The lids not only aid in the cooking process, they seal in nutrients during the cooking process, they also cover the dish after cooking as well.If you have a sneaky cat, like I do, you know what I mean. What an enterprising soul.

These lids are a perfect match and the seal is wonderful. Those in search of lids for your 9 and 11 inch skillets, look no further. These will fit.I am very pleased to find lids that make a perfect seal and being tempered glass you can monitor your cooking process. The glass lid is perfect fit you don't have to worry about steam leaking all over the raised handle and with a quick glance you know how far along you are in the cooking process without taking the lid off.

An epicurean Bon Appetite

Bought these lids about six months ago and have absolutely no complaints so far.

They obviously fit perfectly with the Cuisinart pans. They do condense quit a bit, but what can you expect from steaming food? I have always been able to grab the handles without them being too hot to handle.

Ok, so I own almost every size of Cuisinart pans there are.I love these lids because the aftermarket ones just don't fit correctly or I am trying the wrong ones.I just wish they made lids for their 7 and 8 inch pans too.I bought them for me and my niece and her B/F (who does the cooking) and we both love them and the pans. Can't go wrong with these see through lids so you can actually see how your dish is cooking up to perfection.Highly recommend them.

Lodge Pro-Logic P10D3 Cast Iron Dutch Oven, Black, 4-Quart

Lodge Pro-Logic P10D3 Cast Iron Dutch Oven, Black, 4-QuartA small correction maybe, but it is still an important correction. This is not a Lodge "Logic" Dutch Oven as the title suggests, rather it is a Lodge "Pro-Logic" Dutch Oven. This is important because the Pro-Logic line is the newer ergonomic and stylish cookware.I bought this as part of the 4-for-3 program, so I only paid ~$28 for it.My Pro-Logic Dutch Oven is easy to care for and it cooks well for a wide variety of foods.I also own the original Logic design. While my Logic Dutch Oven is great, this Pro-Logic one is slightly better.Specifically, I like the two changes in the Pro-Logic cookware.First, the edge of the Pro-Logic Dutch oven rises up from the bottom at a smoother/rounder angle, so it is easier to stir with a spoon.Second, the handles are made larger, so they are much easier to hold onto. This is especially important when using potholders or oven mitts. The cover is also different. In the Logic version, the lid has drip spikes. In this Pro-Lodge version, the lid has a circular ridge. Both designs are to help evaporated liquid to condense and to effectively drip back to the pot.I have upload some pictures to show these features.

One thing which I do not like about Lodge Dutch Ovens is that they are preseasoned but done so poorly.I wish they either do a good job or simply oil the cookware and let the buyers season the cookware themselves, much like how typical carbon steel woks are sold.In my case, the original seasoned surface had an bubbled area. This indicates the surface underneath has rusted and indeed it was when I inspected it.I had to baked off the original seasoning surface, scrubbed it with a stainless steel brush, oiled it, wiped it clean, scrubbed it with salt and oil, cleaned it again with oil, and then finally applied bacon fat to season it on the stove top and then moved to the oven. The factory seasoned surface is sometime done incorrectly and removing the original surface takes some works. That being said and all, I am giving this Dutch Oven a 5-star rating. It is a solid cookware with good designs, inexpensive and high performance. The seasoning part did not bother me too much because I know how to do it, but I wish Lodge would offer a non-seasoned line of cookware

***Why bare cast iron Dutch oven over Enameled cast iron Dutch Oven***

I used to use enameled cast iron Dutch Ovens, but now I am a bare/regular cast iron Dutch Oven person.Enameled cast iron Dutch Ovens have their advantages, but I believe one of the advantages is overstated, that is: enameled cast iron Dutch Overns are easier to clean.Yes, if I am limited to a soft sponge to clean, then it is easier to clean an enameled cast iron Dutch Oven. However, I can clean a bare cast iron Dutch Oven more aggressively than an enameled one.I can scrub the bare cast iron Dutch Oven with a metal brush or scrap it with stainless steel spatula without permanently damaging it.I do not have that option for an enamleded cast iron Dutch Oven.I have to be extremely careful with the enameled surface. In practice, I find it much easier and faster to clean a bare cast iron Dutch Oven.

*Edit on 08SEP10*I have just noticed that Amazon has changed the main photo and the description for this item. Now it looks like a campfire dutch oven, which is not what I bought.

What is not to like? I love to crank my heat up and get things going, splash the wine, sear the meat, try it with teflon and you end up with chemical soup.

This is good old fashioned safe cooking, from the stove top to the oven, no melted handles, easy clean up, will last longer than a life time. I feel more comfortable using the little handles to take the pan out of the oven, have not tried the swinging handle version.

This is a great product at a great price, I could not find it cheaper anywhere else but Amazon.

(THREE AND A HALF STARS)First of all let me say I love cast iron!I have two skillets that were handed down from my husband's Mother and they have been seasoned for probably 30 years so maybe that has spoiled me.Slick as a whistle!!

Of course I did not expect a new preseasoned potto match those lovely heirloom pans that have cooked thousands of country meals. That being said, in my opinion, the"preseasoning" on this new Dutch oven is a little too rough (as in bumpy sprayed on)for my liking, and the lid was BADLY mottled on the underneath side. The lid was also not quite black and did not match the pot.For the price I expected a little better.I am now reseasoning it in my oven and I'm sure it will be great after some of the "roughness" goes away.I have used it three times so far and I have had no problem with sticking but I will definately work towards smoothing it out. Can't complain one bit about how great it cooks,BUTit seems to me that a smoother surface will result in better nonstick abilities. Therefore I am reseasoning the pot.Something to note as well is thatafter purchasing this 4 quart I noticed that the 5 quart here on Amazon is A LOT less expensive.I would have gone with that one had I done my homework properly.I can see how this 4 quart will be good for a lot of things, but is it worth the extra $$ and couldn't a gal (or guy)do the same thing in a 5 quart if you don't mind the extra weight?

Bottom line:I would buy the regular old unseasoned pot and season it myself if I could.Cook's Illustrated said that Lodge no longer makes the non preseasoned pans because more people like the pre-seasoned.NOT ME!Call me "old fashioned".I did read a review on another Lodge panhere on Amazon where the lady said to run it through the oven on the selfcleaning cycle to remove the "factory" finish and start over.

We originally bought this because we wanted a "pan" that is deeper for stir-frying. Instead of the chicken frier that is 3 inch deep, we picked this 4-inch deep model. And just like every other cast iron owner, we ended up using it for almost everything. Indeed, within a shortly one month period, it has already become our favorite cooking device, replacing a top-of-the-line calphanon non-stick and an claded stainless steel for all kinds of food: meat, eggs, tofu, vegetables, you name it. I didn't know cast iron can be soooo good.

I have purchased this pan in 12 inch, 10 inch and 8 inch.To be fair, the 10 inch and 8 inch were a package deal at Costco. The 12 inch version I bought at Bed Bath and Beyond.I specifically bought these to leave at the vacation house we rent for a week+ each year.I got better prices elsewhere instead of Amazon, but in any event, they don't break the bank.

When on vacation, I use these pans several times each day and the rest of the year they are used by folks who aren't particularly careful. That being said, they have held up very well and after two years are working just fine. A few small scratches on the nonstick and some scorch marks on the bottoms, but they still work just great.

Do my AllClad at home work better?Yes.They also cost at least five times as much. Will the nonstick coating on the expensive pans last five times longer? No, not really.

At home, I'm planning to purchase an induction stove.AllClad will work on induction, aluminum pans will not.Otherwise, I'd use these at home too.

When my grandma passed, the cast iron racks she used to cool her pies were lost, when I found these cooling racks on Amazon, they looked quite similar to those my grandmother used. Camp Chef 24IN Reversible Grill/Griddle

Camp Chef CGG24 Cast iron grill/griddleThis combo is a SOLID 25 lbs. Good quality product. Be sure to follow the directions and season it before its initial use. It would be a good idea to have a baster handy to siphon the excess grease from the grill. I used sea salt to clean up and made sure to dry the unit thoroughly before storing it away in the carry bag.

The grill works as promised. We use it only for pancakes. The metal surface is smooth and high quality cast iron. The only problem is this puppy is heavy and large. Perhaps I got carried away when ordering one this big.

Buy Camp Chef 24IN Reversible Grill/Griddle Now

I bought this griddle for pancakes, grilled cheese, and the occasional hibachi-style Asian meal for my growing family.Overall, I think it's a solid choice for such tasks. It transfers and holds heat well, as cast iron typically will. The manufacturer's shipping department, however, proved unreliable to say the least. The first one we received was cracked due to insufficient packaging, and then they replaced it with the wrong product, and finally, almost a month after ordering it, a new one was delivered intact.I hope this experience is not typical, and the customer service rep was personally helpful.

The griddle is pretty well constructed, though I noticed that the flat side was not as flat as it should have been.It looked as if the ridges on the other side had caused a few undulations in the surface. It's not severe enough to really affect day-to-day use so far, but don't expect a plate-glass-flat surface.

I use this griddle on top of my 5-burner gas stove, and I can run all five burners under it for a full cooking surface.Or I can turn on two or three burners and reserve a space for keeping food warm.Be advised that there will still be some cooler spots between the burners, even with all of them going. If you insist on very even heat across the whole surface, you might be happier with a high-end electric griddle. That said, cast iron heats more evenly over a burner than most other cookware made of other materials, and you can learn to utilize the cooler spaces for slower cooking.

Anyone considering buying this product should think carefully about the product specs. The usable cooking surface is 23"X13", which is big.But be sure it will fit on your intended heat source. It may not sit securely on some stovetops. And yes, it really does weigh 25 lbs.Suffice to say, cleaning it can be a challenge.I usually scrape it thoroughly with a nylon scraper or spatula while it's still warm, and wash it down with hot, soapy water while it's still on the stovetop but has cooled somewhat. Then I heave it over to the sink to rinse it off with the sprayer.I return it to the stovetop to dry it over low heat.Or you can use a paper towel to dry it.I really like cooking on cast iron, so I think this extra trouble is worth it.

The griddle comes with a handy bag for storage, though the zipper broke almost immediately. And finding storage space for something this size can be interesting. It fits in one of our cabinets, but barely. The included instructions suggest seasoning the griddle before using. That's a nice idea, but it doesn't fit in my oven, and because seasoning produces a lot of smoke, I'm not about to do this on the stovetop.Fortunately, a well-cared-for cast iron surface will eventually build up a very nicely seasoned surface. Finally, although this feels very durable, be aware that any cast iron can crack or shatter if dropped on a hard surface, so handle it carefully when moving it.

Although this griddle can cook a pound of bacon at a time, it has a major design flaw. The manufacturer did not temper this capacious slab of cast iron.So while enjoying the normal popping and splattering noises of bacon being rendering into luscious breakfast meat, I suddenly heard an explosion. Someone had fired a 50-caliber round into my kitchen at short range! Ok, no. It was just my new griddle. It had cracked right down the middle. Cast iron items must be "tempered" at the factory post-casting. This object probably was not. I can't recommend it, because the resulting crack lets cooking grease drip right over the burners.

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless 12-Inch Omelet Pan

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless 12-Inch Omelet PanThis pan was highly recommended by America's Test Kitchen, and they were not kidding! The wide bottom holds a lot of meat and browns it nicely, with hardly any sticking. Retains heat better than my nonstick pan. Larger cuts such as whole pork tenderloins and thick-cut pork chops can go straight from stove-top searing to oven-roasting. Not too heavy, and very smooth at the bottom great for glass-top stoves! Cleans up nicely, too. This will be your no. 1 pan for browning meat!

I have been cooking since I could stand on a chair next to my mom when she cooked. That's about 37 years now.I make everything from scratch and use fresh ingredients. When I was about 20, my (now) ex-wife bought me a set of T-Fal cookware.I used them so many years I can't imagine how.(Without regret both her and the T-Fal are long gone now).Well, I started shopping for cookware that matched my cooking abilities. Not a pro but no one spits out the food I make either. After a ton of research I decided to score this pan.I had a gazillion points on my Amex card so I was able to order this pan for free.I figured what the heck, if I don't like it, I just have the one pan and I couldn't beat the price.I got the pan in and couldn't wait to start flingin ' food.Since then I have aquired 2 more pans of the same variety, 2 sauce pans and am planning on a couple more to round out the set.Don't hesitate to buy these if you enjoy cooking at all. This is the best quality I have found for this sort of money. It heats evenly and cooks evenly!Cleaning is very easy.On ocassion I have burned on some bits on the bottom of the pan and have read some reviews complaining that it is hard to clean when this happens. The answer is simple. If you find you crusted up the bottom, when you are all done, heat the pan up on high and pour in enough water to cover the bottom and gently push a wooden spatula around. It will come off almost immediately. If you use wine or some other favorite beverage its call ed deglazing and you can use the reduced liquid to make a fine sauce or gravy.

Conclusion, top quality pans for a very affordable price.A+

If you've never cooked with SS fry pans, this is a great one to start with (around $95).Remember to lower your temperatures and experiment with how much oil to use (not much).Be prepared to burn a couple meals until you get the hang of it and you can use steel wool to clean this pan.

I'll try to make this quick. After checking many reviews, I ended up buying this and the All-Clad MC2(MasterChef2) 12" at the same time ($20 more, very good pan).Because I intended on returning one I DIDN'T cook with both, but based on visuals and handle comfort, I felt the Calphalon would serve my purposes better. The diameter of the cooking surface(bottom of pan)was about a 1/4 in. larger, the handle felt more comfortable and easier to hold(important on a large pan when you go to move it) and the outside of the pan is stainless steel which doesn't scrach easy. After using it my parents were very pleased(as was I when I got to try it).Feel free to stop reading now, but if you must know more...

This was a present for my parents for general cooking and omeletts about once a week. The goal was to get away from teflon and stop throwing away pans (and money) every 3-5 years. After extensive research I wanted to buy AllClad, figuring to pay a little more for something a little better, and I almost kept the MC2, but I couldn't justify the handle.I realize that these two products are not perfectly comparable. Both Calphalon and All-Clad have numerous lines, incorporating different materials and ideally I would have also bought an All-Clad Stainless ($40 more, same handle as MC2), but I'll focus on the two I did buy.The craftmanship on both pans is similar and they weigh within 1/2 lb of each other (All-Clad is just a little lighter). The only material difference is the outside layer, where Calphalon use SS(more durable/heats slower) and All-Clad MC2 has brushed aluminum(scratchs easy/heats faster). Most of what I read (too many links to include) gave me the belief that this difference would have a small (if any) effect on preheat time.I may never find out, nor will I care, the Calphalon heats up fine and makes a great omelett.

With all this said I know that there are better pans out there (though the upgrade seems more of a personal opinion) and everyone has their favorits. One may still be able to cook well on cheaper pans, but I feel that I got a fair deal and it comes with a life time warranty.

I purchased this pan recently to complement my Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless 7-Piece Cookware Set and I am very pleased. The handle is very comfortable, and for its size, is not as heavy as I anticipated yet it heats very evenly. The pan sidewalls are the same material as the bottom of the pan, making this an excellent pan for creating pan sauces as the sauce will not scorch on the sides of the pan, which is my only complaint with the Chef's Classic 10" skillet.

The pan has a large surface area making it a great choice for browning pork chops or browning items that should not be crowded in the pan. When used properly, (heated, oil added and heated to shimmer, then food added) the food cooks wonderfully without sticking. The glossy stainless finish is beautiful, but requires hand-drying to avoid water spots. The spots accumulate on my pan as I view it as a tool, not a decor item, but some might find that troubling.

Although I really considered the All Clad 12" skillet, every time I picked one up the handle was so uncomfortable I had to set it down quickly, and I finally decided that no matter how well otherwise the pan performs, if it is too uncomfortable to use, then it isn't performing well --indeed, it could be dangerous when filled with hot food and oil.

This Calphalon skillet is a marvel and I am certain it will serve many years of hard labor in my kitchen.I only wish the set included metal lids; if it had, I would have strongly considered the set, but I do not like glass lids -too risky.
