11.5' Chefel Flip 'N' Cook Double-Sided Frying Pan, Pressure, Nonstick, Stainless, Detachable, Made in KoreaGreat piece of cookware. Most important it's easy to cook and clean with the detachable design. I believe it makes food taste better, the double sided pan helps to cook food faster and keep the juiciness of meat. Totally worth the purchase.

I think it's a must-have for every household. It can replace most of the your existing pans. I wonder if they come in other colors though.

HI,

The frying pan is working well for my family. My mum is enjoying her cooking with this new piece of addition in the kitchen. I am going get at least two more of these pans for my relatives as gifts.

The product does exactly what it is expected to do. The oil stays inside the pan. I can't be sure whether the food that comes out from it tastes better because my mum does not add too much salt and oil into the food. But I reckon it saves some gas and creates a cleaner kitchen which incidentally can be translated into fewer clean-ups.

The service staff from xFish seems friendly and promptly answers my questions with some degree of diligence.

These people are serious with what they are doing.

Great disapointment

Lodge Logic LSRG3 Single-Burner Reversible Grill/Griddle, 10.5-inch

Lodge Logic LSRG3 Single-Burner Reversible Grill/Griddle, 10.5-inchOver the years, I have bought several "non-stick" griddles, but those coatings always turn gummy, flake off, and don't clean well. Finally, I came to my senses and realized cast iron doesn't flake, is truly non-stick, cleans with hot water, and if it turns gummy, a little re-seasoning always fixes the problem. I love cast iron; love the shiny black non-stick surface that develops over time. Food always tastes great on iron, also. But I had never had a piece of pre-seasoned cast iron, so I was a bit skeptical about skipping the seasoning routine. The griddle got a good hot-water-only rub down out of the box, a generous coating of oil, and set on the stove to preheat for pancakes. The first one stuck just a little, but that was a temperature problem. All the rest of the pancakes were perfect no sticking at all! And they were actually fluffier and had a crispier crust than usual, while the insides were oh-so-tender. Best pancakes ever!If this griddle cooks this well straight out of the box, I can't wait till it develops that beautiful shiny black patina!

Don't wait as long as I did: order this griddle soon! You really can use it immediately, and like all good cast iron, with proper care, it will last a lifetime!

Great little grill for just two people! I grill burgers, vegies and more on this. I was going to get the larger size but decided this would be perfect for what I needed. It isn't too hard to clean up as long as you don't leave the food or grease on it for too long. Just wash it with water and a stiff brush and then dry and season. It will last you a lifetime and more with proper care!

Works as well as my cast iron pan but doesn't have sides so it is easier to get under foods to flip them.More useable space to cook on.

Want Lodge Logic LSRG3 Single-Burner Reversible Grill/Griddle, 10.5-inch Discount?

I have lots of cast iron, mostly Lodge.

I was contemplating getting the wider Lodge grill Lodge Logic LPG13 Pro 20-by-10-7/16-Inch Cast-Iron Grill/Griddle (the one that's good for straddling two burners -that one measures 20" by 10.5"), but decided on just the single one (10.5" by 10.5"). I use the smooth side for pancakes and crepes, and recently started using the grill side for steaks and chicken.

I used to use my skillet for steaks (a la Alton Brown), but I just love the grill marks. Especially since the grill of this Lodge piece goes diagonally, I put my steaks (and chickens and pork chops) at a straight 90 degree angle. While I normally cook my steaks by letting it sit there for about a minute (on high, of course), with this grill, I've gone to moving/rotating the steak another 90 degrees. It gives it that great criss-cross pattern (hey, part of good tasting food is good looking food).

With my steak sizes, I can only cook 1 steak at a time. Not really a problem since it takes me only two minutes or so per steak (rare to medium rare).

If you want a bigger area that straddles two burners, get that version instead (and, at the time of this writing, the other one which is twice the size is only a scant few dollars more; great value!). For me, this is perfect. Basically, choose your weapon. :)

Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen 14-inch Carbon Steel Wok with Bamboo Handles

Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen 14-inch Carbon Steel Wok with Bamboo HandlesI purchased this wok about 1 month ago.I spent some time researching woks before I made the purchase, including going to stores to look at them, and reading reviews on the internet.I ended up choosing this one and am very happy with my selection. I like the fact that it has bamboo handles and thick carbon steel. It is also well made.

I looked at woks at stores and found that most of them were poorly made.At one box store there was one for about $20.It looked okay, but upon inspection, the metal was thin and the handles were not made well.

I also went to a cooking store only to find poor quality too.The wok I looked at was about $39.Very thin material.

I will agree with one cooking expert who said not to buy an expensive wok.You can spend up to $100 on one, but you don't need one that expensive. In fact, a good carbon steel wok with decent thickness should cost you about $20 to $30.I got mine for a little over $22.

This wok is about the thickest one you can buy on the market. 1.8mm.I think Helen Chen sells another one that is 2mm thick too. The thickness of this one is just perfect.Compared to others I looked at, this one doesn't flex when you pick it up.

As far as seasoning the wok. Use a gas stove. An electric stove doesn't get hot enough.I initially used my electric stove, but was not satisfied with the glaze, so I got my white gas Coleman camping stove out.It worked just perfect! The electric stove works fine for cooking though.

If you have an electric stove, like I do, and need to season your wok, go to a friend's home that has a gas stove, or use a camping stove like I did.Open all the windows, it does get quite smokey and the smoke will set off the smoke alarm.

In conclusion, I recommend this wok.If you like stir fry like I do, you will be very satisfied with your purchase.

Thanks for reading my review.

I bought this wok based on the good reviews and attractive design. I've had it for 6 months now and the bamboo helper handle has dried out and fallen apart in pieces literally. Lesson learned I would recommend buying the plastic handle woks instead of these glued bamboo handles especially if you use high heat for stir frying.

It's not worth the shipping for warranty and have it rejected to say that it's been abused due to using high heat, which is how you are suppose to cook with a wok anyway. Additionally, I don't want to bother going through trouble of re-seasoning a new wok again.

The exposed helper handle is actually composed of two L-shaped metal pieces with a gap in-between them instead of one solid U-shaped handle. so it loosely rotates a little and is rendered useless without the bamboo wrapped around it bad design I'd say. For now, I've made a fix by wrapping a makeshift pipe around those two metal pieces to serve as a handle.

I would never buy wooden handle cookware, especially glued bamboo types, again.

I purchased a wok for my sister for Christmass. I purchased a non-stick coated wok. After receiving the wok my sister went on the net to see reviews of several woks. She decided not to keep the wok I bought because of cancer reports due to TEFLON coatings. After reviewing many woks on AMAZON, I decided on the wok by Helen Chen. After receiving it both of us were very satisfied with the quality of the product. Being the first wok we ever seasoned, we got it wright on the second try. It works great on a flat top electric stove.

Was a little bit worried about the fact that this wok needed to be seasoned, but it was easy and now works great. All the other pans have pretty much stayed in the cupboard, and this one stays on the burner. This is the cheapest pan that I own, and my favorite. Don't need to worry about scratching it, don't need to worry about denting it. After seasoning it is slicker than my teflon pan. Great value.

Want Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen 14-inch Carbon Steel Wok with Bamboo Handles Discount?

I am an Asian housewife and I do my share of stir fry cooking several times a week. I have several carbon steel woks already but I was looking for a less heavy one, so I bought the Helen Chen's wok.It is lighter, but everything else about this wok has been a disappointment.Despite a careful seasoning process I did before I used this wok for real cooking, the wok turned brown and black in its first mission, and it rusts so easily, I have to rush into cleaning it, drying it, and hanging it right after the food is out of this wok. Carbon steel woks do rust, but shouldn't be in such a lightening speed, my other woks made in Japan or Taiwan are so much better. What makes it worse is, even if I clean and dry the wok in time, the next time before I cook with it,I'll be sure to find new rust, so I have to clean it again before using it.

If this is not bad enough, there is further news. The helper handler broke into three pieces within 2 weeks. Because it was broken, I got to look inside how it was built, and that just tells me why this wok has so many problems --because it was made cheaply.Underneath the bamboo handler, there is supposed to be an iron piece that really hold the wok, guess what, that piece of iron is not really in one piece ! I saw two fractured iron stick there, they are not even connected to each other !So I was actually using the bamboo to hold the wok, yet the bamboo is made of four pieces that were glued together. No wonder it didn't last forever.

It was such a disappointment, if I could have given it a zero star, I would. This wok is certainly not up to the duty of high temperature stir fry dishes. The price is low, but its performance is much lower. Not worth the money.

Nordic Ware 2 Burner Griddle 10-1/4-Inch by 17-1/2-Inch

Nordic Ware 2 Burner Griddle 10-1/4-Inch by 17-1/2-InchFirst of all I take the blame for trying to get a very inexpensive griddle. This griddle is appropriate for camping only & is not suitable for big weekend breakfasts at home. The griddle is quite lightweight (again, great for camping) but slides all over the top of my stove while maneuvering food. Flipping a pancake becomes a tricky activity especially because this griddle doesn't have a true handle to steady it.

The reviewer that said this gridle is "big" must be cooking for one person because I don't find that I can fit much more on it than I did with my 11x11" griddle pan that I was trying to replace. My plan was to be able to fix a breakfast for 2 adults and a toddler all at one time so we could all have a HOT breakfast together. Instead I find that I am still eating last because I still can't fit more than 5 small pancakes on the griddle at one time, let alone bacon or eggs.

I recommend this only if you're looking for a small and portable griddle for camping/RVing. If you are cooking at home for 2 or more people then invest a few more dollars for higher quality and a larger griddle size.

Bought this double griddle for our double burner coleman camp stove. It is a perfect fit. Large enough to cook sausage and eggs or pancakes at the sametime. Heats evenly, non stick, and light weight. We did however use non-stick cooking spray with it, I have learned from experience that nothing is completely non-stick. Clean up was a breeze. And store very well with our camping gear.

I really like this griddle.I bought one at a thrift store back in the early 90's and used it until this past year (2008) when it started to look scratched finally and the nonstick wasn't working as well.I think these products from NordicWare are still made in the USA which is very cool.I use this on the stovetop but most of the time I use it to bake everything you can imagine in the oven.Cookies too.I love it and hope this one lasts me another ten years!

This griddle is huge!I can make an entire enormous breakfast on it at once. One of my favorite things is making giant pancakes on it, two at a time. It's just plain big.

Want Nordic Ware 2 Burner Griddle 10-1/4-Inch by 17-1/2-Inch Discount?

This griddle is light weight and will barely cover 2 burners on a stove top. The previous reviewer who identified this as a camping griddle is accurate.

The heat was even and the food was cooked well. However, after the very first use the non-stick coating has begun to peel off at the edges of the pan. I will probably get another two-dozen or so uses out of it before it has to be recycled. Will shell out for a more expensive grill next time.

Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet

Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric SkilletI was a little nervous when I bought this skillet, since at the time there were no product reviews on it, but I was desperate, and since I had had good luck with other Cuisinart products, I took the chance.Am I glad I did!We were just beginning a major kitchen remodel, which meant that for at least two months I would have to improvise cooking facilities for 5 adults and a grandchild. This skillet has been a real workhorse for me, and a genuine lifesaver (and budget-saver) during the remodel. Its cost was no more than 2 dinners for my family at a moderate-cost restaurant, and I saved that much the first week by cooking those dinners at home in this skillet instead. Its large capacity makes it extremely versatile.I've used it to fry chicken, make one-pan dinners, cook bacon and eggs, frozen blintzes, pot roast, stir-fry meals, you name it. It makes a beautiful risotto, and I've even used it to cook corn on the cob and boil potatoes.Everything came out exactly as I'd hoped, or better. I am especially happy with the Cuisinart's solid, sturdy base that won't let the skillet tip over and endanger the cook (or the curious grandchild).I also love the sturdy nonstick surface, which after two months of frequent use is still like new, in contrast to some nonstick pans I've had where the coating scratches or wore off so quickly that by the 3rd or 4th use the food had to be chipped out.The temperature control responds very quickly, too. You can certainly buy a cheaper electric skillet, but if you use it frequently, a cheap pan will be trash in a short time and you may not be happy with the way it performs in that short lifetime. This Cuisinart is worth every penny, and I expect to be using mine for a long, long time.

I have owned this electric skillet for several months. This is my first electric skillet. I know, shocking, after 25 years of marriage! I love this skillet, and can not believe I did not purchase one sooner. I have done eggs with cheese, fajita's, sausage, etc. Nothing has stuck! The meat browns nicely, the eggs don't stick, everything cooks evenly and as it should.

Best of all, clean up is a breeze!I know the instructions say you can put it in the dishwasher, but I haven't even been tempted. A little dish soap, a little water and a swish with a dishcloth, rinse and dry and the clean up is done!

I wouldn't trade it.

*Update: I have now had this skillet for about 1 year. It still cooks great and cleans as easy as it did new. non-stick finish has been very durable, and the unite heats up nicely. It is nice and large so you can cook up a large amount of food at one time. This is nice when you are cooking for several people. When it is just me and my husband, I can cook the sausage and pancakes at the same time, then I only have one cleanup!

I do at times wish the cooking surface was more level. It seems to be a little lower around the edges. I assume that is on purpose to allow grease to drain.

Buy Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet Now

I have only had my Cuisinart Electric Skillet for approx. two weeks, but have used it almost every day since receiving it! I love it! Very easy to clean, nothing sticks to it.I have fried chicken twice in it, and it did a wonderful job of it. The chicken fried evenly and got very brown and crusty but no burning. I have fried pork chops in it, and it was the same, cooked perfectly. I have found it fries bacon much better and more evenly than trying to do it on my stove and so much easier to clean up because it doesn't spatter as badly as cooking in a more shallow skillet. Plus, my stove top is smooth glass and frying on it is always messy and causes the grease to burn onto it and then has to be cleaned with special glasstop cleanser, so I don't make a mess on my stove when I use the skillet. I cooked hamburgers in it yesterday and they were delicious, browned on the outside but juicy inside. The best I have cooked in a long time. I cannot praise this skillet enough!I have been searching for a 16-in. electric skillet for the past year but every one that I would find listed on Amazon (which is the same selection, or even better selection) than I would find in a local department store, and as I always read customer reviews before I buy (I feel this is the best way to find out about any product before actually buying and using it, from people who have it and have used it) they all had some bad features, either in the design or workmanship, and in the case of Rival, not good customer service. So I stayed away from every brand that I read about for the 16 in. elec. skillets. Then, just recently, I was checking out the food network website and noticed this oval shaped one by Cuisinart that they offered, and though the price was the same as on amazon, I went with amazon because of the free shipping. I was also hoping that amazon would have a few customer reviews for me to read so I could see how others either liked or disliked the skillet, but alas, there were none!I guess it is too new yet to have many customer reviews. Though it is not quite the 16 inches that I was looking for, the 15"X12" size has proven to be just as good, it easily holds a whole chicken without crowding. The one inch differenc wasn't enough to stop me from buying it.I knew Cuisinart was a very good brand, so I trusted the name, and took a chance and I am so happy that I did.It is pure joy to cook in this skillet. I haven't even put it away since I have had it, as I use it almost every day, I just keep it sitting on the end of my counter in the kitchen, where I use it.The only criticism I could offer is the shortness of the cord, but I have found this is true with every electric skillet that I have looked at, and was true with my old one that I gave my daughter when I purchased this one.It seems you can't wear electric skillets out, as I had that one for about 25 years! But back to the short cord. I think it is a safety feature so that you won't get caught in the electric cord and pull the skillet off the counter or table and cause burns to yourself or damage the skillet. And thankfully, the cord is just long enough to reach the outlet on the down-side of my counter top without having to use an extension. If I used it close to a wall with a wall socket, it would reach even better. But since I don't have a lot of counter space and the counter top range takes up so much of my space, it is more convenient for me to have it at the end of the counter top. And it is worth every penny of the hundred dollar price!I highly recommend it.

I picked this out as a gift based on all of the positive reviews. The first unit arrived and looked OK at a glance.Upon closer inspection, I found some scratches on the exterior and weird spots in the non-stick surface. When I flipped the unit over, I found all of the model information is imprinted into the metal surface; including a serial number. That serial number had been covered up with a black mark and a second serial number has been printed below in black type.I confirmed with Cuisinart customer service that this indicates that the unit has been refurbished.

My order was for a NEW unit from amazon.com (not a marketplace seller).Amazon customer service quickly created a new order for another unit at no charge to me and provided me with postage to return the refurb unit.I was assured that the replacement unit would be new.A week later, the replacement arrived and it also has 2 serial numbers and even worse defects in the non-stick coating (rough spots).I am now returning for a refund.Buyer beware.Check your serial number!

During my 30 plus years of marriage, I have owned at least 5 electric skillets. When the last one broke, I decided to do some research and bought the Cuisinart 150. I was skeptical about the oval shape since all my others were rectanglar and I felt that those extra corners meant more room. However, the shape does not matter. In fact, since most foods are rounded, the oval is better. The Cuisinart 150 cooks evenly, there are no hot coil spots on my foods. It preheats quickly and cooks very quickly also. it also lies level on my counter which for some odd reason the others never did. I don't think I have ever been so happy with a kitchen appliance before. I use my skillet at least once a week, for chicken, eggplant or veal cutlets, as well as for beef stroganoff or other all-in-one-pan meals. I would give this product a perfect 10. It is worth the higher price because it is so well-built and does such a great job.

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain 12-Piece Cookware Set, Butter

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain 12-Piece Cookware Set, ButterI Loved the color of the pans. I love that they all had lids. The only reason I did not give these pans a 5 star is because I do not know what happened to my medium sized pot, but it bent, my lid does not fit on it now, I didn't drop the pan, It was fine when I first cooked with it, my second use of the item I noticed it was bent, maybe it was during my cleaning, but it is very sad because now the lid does not fit on correctly. It would also be awesome if there was a lid for the smaller cooking pan. Other than that, I love this set! But I did notice it was alot cheaper at Wal-Mart after I purchased them online, and that was also disappointing, and I mean almost $30 cheaper. But the set, I like it alot.

It's been 6 months and I LOVE LOVE LOVE these pans. I read reviews that they can't handle the dishwasher and I can't say if they do since I hand wash all my pans and plastic. I also read reviews that the color wipes off even when had washed but I wanted the color so much I took the risk and the color has lasted easily. In fact one time I need to use soft scrub on the outside of the pan from an over flow that cooked on and I was careful at first but quickly realized the color doesn't come as easily as some reviews I read. The non stick has lasted too but I do put a cloth between the pans so when stacked the metal doesn't harm the non-stick. They're a joy to cook in.

I received a set of 2 skillets from my son for Christmas so I decided to buy the entire set to replace my very well used set of T-fal cookware. I normally won't consider the purchase of cookware that is not dishwasher safe, but this set is easily cleaned with soapy water.I like the ceramic coating on the outside of the pans and the yellow colors are very attractive. This cookware is lighter than some I have had in the past and I have found they tend to slide on the cooking surface. One skillet has a chip in the ceramic coating and I am concerned this can be a problem with the set in the future. The set includes a very nice chicken fryer and a small sauce pan that is perfect for a can of vegtables or a can of soup.I like the rubber coated handles and the clear glass lids. I do recommend this set, expecially at this price.

Simply Calphalon Nonstick 5-Quart Saute Pan

Simply Calphalon Nonstick 5-Quart Saute PanI usually work with a 5 qt saute pan for the workhorse nonstick pan in my kitchen, and I don't usually spend a lot of money on them figuring that they aren't really going to last too long anyway. The last one I got was about twenty bucks from Costco and it did ok.When it finally died, I went looking for a new one.I found this on sale someplace and remembered that America's Test Kitchen liked the Simply Calphalon Nonstick 10-Inch Covered Omelette Pan, and figured it was worth a shot since it was from the same line.It was more money than I'm used to spending for this item, but I got a nice deal on it, so I went for it.I have been very happy with it.I love the big 5 qt size as I can make just about anything in it.

I love the helper loop as that makes it much easier to move the pan when it's full of food. Also, the handle, helper loop, and lid handle all have some silicone on them, so you can handle the pan even when it's hot.The handles do get warm, but I don't usually need to get pot holders.

The other thing I love is that this pan can go into the oven to 400 degrees. My only wish is that it could go all the way to 500 degrees.(I recently noticed that another pan from Calphalon can do that: Calphalon Unison Slide Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Omelette Pan, which I got for my son.But I really like the size and shape of the 5 qt saute and they don't do the Unison Slide in that pan at least, not yet.If they do, I will get one!)

It's heavier than my prior (cheaper) pan, but not too hard to handle.

It cooks nicely...everything I've made in it has been good, and I use this pan several times a week (I've had it for about a year now).It shows no sign of wear at this point but I do take care of it: no dishwasher, no metal utensils, etc.

This pan came with a 10 year warranty, I believe, and the Unison Slide I got for my son came with a lifetime warranty.

This is a great all around pan if you are looking for something larger than a fry pan.Great for larger meals. Not as heavy as regular calphalon which makes it easier to move around.

This pan has excellent silicone molding on all handles that keep them cool even when cooking with oil for long periods of time.We had an older Calphalon Saute Pan where the Teflon surface had worn off and it was a nightmare to clean. This non-stick surface is excellent even burned food doesn't stick. The pan diameter is large enough to use our second-largest diameter glass-surface electric stove burner so the pan heats quickly (and the burner doesn't continually shut off).I highly recommend this pan.

Starfrit Die-Cast Aluminum Nonstick 10-Inch Square Grill Pan with Foldable Handle

Starfrit Die-Cast Aluminum Nonstick 10-Inch Square Grill Pan with Foldable HandleI have only used this over a stove, not a fire, but it heats up really well.I heat it for 3-4 minutes first, then slap on the meat and it gets a really nice sizzle and broiler marks.the pan is clever too because it has grease spill indents on both sides to pour off grease.Only negative is the same that all these fold up pans have ... they fold up too easily. There needs to be a locking mechanism so they don't fold up when you are trying to cook with them. Therefore you cannot flip with this pan because the handle will not lock in place.but that is minor. It's also very light which is what I need since I'll be backpacking.

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set ()This Kitchen Aid cookware set (manufactured by Meyer) comes with the "gourmet" tag because of the windsor style shaping of the two saucepans and the stockpot.Windsor indicates that the sides are very tall and straight until they reach the top when there is a slight flare. This configuration facilitates faster evaporation of liquids and shortens the time for reduction of sauces. In the case of the stockpot, by placing the lid on the pot you will capture all the liquids and have them return to the broth you are making. The hard-anodized outer layer over aluminum is a very easy surface to work with.I have other pieces with this finish and find it holds up wonderfully.I do not, however, put any of my cookware in the dishwasher regardless of what a manufacturer may say.

I always like to make sure of what is meant by measurements given by a manufacturer. In this case an 8 quart stockpot held eight measured quarts of water, but there was only about 3/4 inch of room left to the top of the pot.I would never fill the pot that much because of the danger of boil-over during the cooking period.I placed a five pound whole chicken and the vegetables I like to use for stock in the pot and then added 4 quarts of water. This filled the pot to within 1.5 inches of the top.By keeping the glass lid on the entire time I ended up with a very good stock and chicken cooked to perfection.I have used the 3 quart sauté pan to prepare a one-dish entrée.I really like this pan because of the unusually tall sides (which are a full 3 inches tall and have no flare) because that seemed to reduce the spatter when I was sautéing the beef for my dish. So far I have only scrambled eggs in the 8.5 inch skillet, but both saucepans have also been used.Clean-up has been a real breeze, even for the sauté pan which was not washed for several hours.

One of the things I particularly like about this set is the design of the handles. There is a combination of stainless steel on top and a silicone material on the bottom for comfort when gripping the handles. These are oven safe to 350 or 400 degrees I've seen conflicting information about that. The handle joins the pan in a "Y" configuration which gives a really good, sturdy feel to the saucepan or skillet when it has food in it plus the handles are a little shorter than I'm used to.These handles are 8 inches long, compared to 8.75 inches for another cookware set I own. There is no accidental twisting of the pan because it is out of balance.

This set is suitable for cooking on solid plate, radiant ring, ceramic, halogen or gas stoves. My commercial gas range matches up very well with each of the pans in this set that I've used so far.The only negative comment I have is that I would have liked some kind of small pamphlet or brochure describing this set to be included with it.What I got was a business size white envelope with some sheets inside giving me the information about the set.Certainly not very inspirational!Despite that small quibble, I am looking forward to many years of cooking with this very attractive set of cookware.

*****EDIT***** March 19, 2011 Just a short addition to say how much I am enjoying using this cookware set.The non-stick coating is the best of any of the pans I own.It has a very smooth feel to it and I haven't found anything which can't be cleaned up easily. The silicone padding on the underside of the handles is absolutely wonderful.Even though it is always a good idea to use a potholder, these handles do actually stay cooler to the touch than any of my other pans. The stockpot is so tall and narrow that it takes a little longer for water in it to come to the boil, but once it is boiling the cooking process goes very quickly.I'm speaking specifically of cooking pasta in this instance. All in all simply a wonderful set that is going to be used all the time.

()I am so pleased with this cookware set!My old non-stick cookware by Mirro was looking pretty haggard after 10 years of dutiful service, and with our baby daughter starting to eat real solid foods, I knew we needed to replace the whole lot so bits of the flaking Teflon wouldn't find its way into the food.

DESIGN AND EASE OF USE:

The design of the cookware is a "windsor" style with the sides being at a slight angle going up and out, instead of the usual 90 degree vertical. They are also narrower at the base and taller than most regular shaped cookware.I didn't think much the design benefits until I used the pans, I LOVE WINDSOR STYLE!It lets me have a pan on each burner with lots of room around each pan since they are not low and wide like my old set of nonstick cookware. If you only have 4 burners on your stovetop like I do, this is a huge boon in maneuverability while you cook.Last night I had pasta going in the large stockpot, sausages sizzling in the saute pan, and sauce bubbling away in the 3 qt. sauce pan without feeling jammed like I usually do if I have more than 2 pans going at once.

SIDE NOTE: The 8 qt. stockpot is as tall as my old 10 qt. pot, this means spaghetti noodles still fit inside perfectly but you have 2 quarts less water to boil, so you can get them in the pot much faster -SO NICE!

SET USABILITY:

This set has exactly what I need and nothing I don't.Some cookware sets are inflated with pieces you rarely ever use and just clutter up your cupboards. The largest skillet in this set is a 10" skillet, not a 12" like I had before, but cooking for 2 adults and a baby I find 10" to be plenty of room since the skillet sides go almost vertical, you have a lot of cooking surface -some 12" skillets have sides so banked you only get 10" of cooking surface anyway. If you do a lot of entertaining and need a larger cook surface, you may want to add a covered everyday pan to your arsenal; I already have a 12" everyday pan I break out when doing a double batch of sautéed chicken or cooking for a large crowd (I have been using the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Medium Dome Cover since 2006 and it still looks new).

The silicon under the handles is a very nice feature that protects your hands, especially if you are like me and try to lift pot lids to add a bit of something without hunting down a potholder first.I have pretty heat-tolerant hands, but now I don't have to test that theory.

The interior rivets from the handles are not non-stick and there may be a bit of food stickage there, I fixed that with a short hit of olive oil spray before I add the food, no sticking after that.

The pans themselves are very light in weight, making it much easier to flip and omelet sans turner, or dump 8 qts of pasta water into the sink without straining your wrists. This is a nice feature to know about if you have limited arm/wrist/hand mobility and am looking for lightweight cookware. The lids are heavier because they are thick glass and stainless steel, but you can remove them before transporting the full pot.

CARE:

I hand wash these and have not attempted to put them in the dishwasher, mainly because I don't need to at all and need the space in the DW for other stuff. They are so non-stick that I just turn the tap to super hot and rinse the gunk out -even if I left the dirty pan out overnight, running hot water gets most of it off.I just add a bit of Dawn to a nylon brush scrubber and sweep the inside to finish off the grime. They are super easy to clean and then I can fit more dishes in the dishwasher instead of taking up space with big pots and pans.I also anticipate that this method of cleaning will greatly prolong their life.

APPEARANCE:

These pots and pans are very sharp looking. The pots are dark and smooth, they look like a quality-made set.The tempered glass lids have SS polished rims and riveted handles that shine nicely and match the handles. There are holes at the end of each handle, so if you hang your pots from a rack, these will be an easy addition.

SIDE NOTE: I sometimes use the hole at the end of the handle to hold the shaft of a silicon spoonula, it keeps it off the counter or stovetop while I cook if these is already another utensil in the spoon rest.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

In addition to all the wonderful ways this cookware makes cooking so much easier, the lifetime guarantee and excellent craftsmanship of this set is impressive.I feel like this will be a great set for many many years to come; I will probably be teaching my baby girl how to cook someday with these pans, we will see if she gets them when she goes off to college :)

2 YEAR UPDATE:

After another baby and even less time to keep house I found myself putting these pots and pans in the dishwasher, cringe I know. The manual clearly states it will discolor the exterior and void the warranty. That said, and although the exterior does get lightened, the interior looks brand new after daily use and I still love these pans. I give their exterior a quick swipe with a bit of oil (coconut oil) and they are dark and even-toned again. I have been doing this for 20 months and it works great; do not do that with veg oil or it will leave a disgusting sticky film, coconut oil does not leave a film. If you care about the warrantee do not do this, but I thought you'd like to know what would happen.

Buy KitchenAid Gourmet Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set Now

()This cook set has the look of professional cookware, but it is clearly made for the home market and somewhat casual use at that.

Pros:

1. Looks nice. Has that classic dark anodized coating and heavy duty feel.

2. Cooks evenly due to sufficiently heavy bottoms.

3. Comfortable handles.

4. Stock pot has good capacity.

5. Frying pan non-stick coating is really non-stick. I cooked various cheese and other dishes without issue.

Cons:

1. No volume markers on the inside of any of the set. My Pyrex brand non-coated set has both cup and metric markers on the inside. These lack any markers at all.

2. The frying pan is not wide enough for me, and the sides are steep enough that you can't "cheat" on the width by using the sides a bit.

3. The teflon coating on the inside is only rated for "medium" heat. Other teflon pans I've had would allow medium high. Ithink this isa disadvantage.

Summary:

This is not a bad set at all. If you don't care about the lack of measurement markings and if you don't need high heat to fry with, you'll think it's super.

Oven Safe 400 F according to manufacturer, but I do not feel safe with the rubber/silicone under handles in oven why I give 4 stars.

It does make using the handles a little easier, like stock pot can be lifted while hot. * Caution if lid is not seated well and any steam escapes towards any handle, that handle will be too hot to touch.

()The quality of manufacture of this cookware is generally very good. The metal is thick and heavy enough to hold heat well and the non-stick coating is truly non-stick, smoothly applied, and seems quite durable. The set doesn't include any odd pieces that will end up orphaned in the back of the kitchen cabinet or any tiny pieces that aren't very versatile.

I had been using the orginal anodized aluminum Calphalon which is similar to this set except without the non-stick coating, glass lids, or silicone grips.I really like the clear glass lids that seal so tightly, the non-stick coating which really makes a difference not just while cooking but also when washing up, the large handles on the lids, and the silicone pads on the handles which make them so comfortable to grasp.

The only concerns I have are that some of the handles have some slightly rough edges on the underside (not to the point of being dangerous) and the handles could also be slightly longer on the smaller pieces.

If you are not used to non-stick cookware, you should carefully read the included precautions to take to avoid damaging the coating.

In addition to the KitchenAid mark, Meyer Corporation brands cookware under names such as Analon, BonJour, Circulon, Paula Deen, Rachel Ray, Farberware, and Silverstone.

I think this set is an excellent value.Highly recommended.

Farberware Porcelain Enamel Nonstick Straight 12-Piece Cookware Set, BlackI have always liked Farberware. They are great pots & pan and I have used this brand exclusively for 23 years as they hold up well.

However, with the 'Porcelain Set' I have a problem with the handle on the lids.

If one is cooking something all day (as I just did) one cannot lift the lid off without it being almost too hot to touch.

I am referring to the handle to the lid only.Too bad.I'll have to send this set back.

Old Mountain 10160 Pre-Seasoned 11-3/4-Inch Cast Iron Loaf Pan

Old Mountain 10160 Pre-Seasoned 11-3/4-Inch Cast Iron Loaf PanI own a LOT of cast iron..in fact, I probably own most of what Lodge has put out and typiually only purchase Lodge but I needed some additional bread pans and since cannot find Lodge brand any longer I purchased 2 from Sante Cabin and 2 from Old Mountain. Old Mountain arrived quickly, well wrapped/packaged and completely treated. Washed and used to encounter bread that dropped effortlessly from the pan without need for barely any prompting. After a few more uses the finish was even better...perfect.

The Sante Cabin cast iron arrived a few days later, washed to prepare for use and pan immediately began to rust. Description indicates "true seasoned" and "ready to use right out of the box" but also denotes "non-seasoned". It is NOT seasoned and rusted immediately after washing. On the other hand, the two Old Mountain loaf/bread pans were perfect. WAshed easily, zero rust, true non-seasoning and a beautifully shaped loaf.

Excellent purchase!

It is a good pan for baking bread but its description fooled me.I thought I was getting a nice long baking pan at 11 3/4 inches but that is the measurement which includes the handles. This is actually a 9 x 5.5 inch pan. Drat!

Buy Old Mountain 10160 Pre-Seasoned 11-3/4-Inch Cast Iron Loaf Pan Now

I have been looking for an alternative to non-stick for some time, and I finally decided on cast iron for a healthy replacement. After reading other reviews, I decided to try the Old Mountain one. I followed the instructions for new out of box care, and after using it for the first time, I noticed some of the finish came off onto my loaf. I had also noticed an odd smell coming from the pan. I was concerned about what the factory "pre-seasoning" was made of (it's made in China), so I scrubbed it off and followed the instructions for re-seasoning. I used grapeseed oil, and it worked perfectly!

Despite the issues with first time use, this pan does get 5 stars as the smell disappeared after the re-seasoning, and everything I have made (from wheat bread to banana bread) has popped right out with perfect, golden crusts. My recommendation is to re-season it before first use, it's definitely worth the money and improves after every use.

Want Old Mountain 10160 Pre-Seasoned 11-3/4-Inch Cast Iron Loaf Pan Discount?

We have owned two of these cast iron bread loaf pans since May 2010. We bake our homemade bread at least once per week, five loaves at a time in our smallish electric home oven. When we bake we use one glass, one ceramic, one untreated stone, and two old mountain cast iron bread pans. There is absolutely no question that our stone pan (Pampered Chef) and our cast iron pans are the best. The only problem with the stone pan is that it's too large. We recently broke first the glass pan and now the ceramic pan and decided to get two more cast iron pans to replace them. They just can't be beat. Perfect loaf size, perfect crumb, great rising because the dough climbs up the slightly roughened surface, and the bread always slips ever so easily from the pan leaving behind a perfect crust that remains moist but firm. Our bread is 100% whole grain without any oils and the bread is consistently delicious and beautiful every time. I would say that the only thing to watch out for is burns. Be careful removing the pans from the oven and for a spell afterwards because they will burn your skin as they retain heat. Ouch! But, generally if that happens at all it only happens once, right? Enjoy! By the way... One reviewer said to wait to find a Lodge cast iron pan (impossible but good luck!), but I say why wait when you could be getting so much pleasure out of baking and eating right now!

Rachael Ray Stainless Steel II 6-Quart Covered Chef Pan with Helper Handle, Orange

Rachael Ray Stainless Steel II 6-Quart Covered Chef Pan with Helper Handle, Orangeawesome for the induction cook top! Like a slow cooker. Rachael Ray is the best! Love her show and food ideas!

I had bought the set that this matches but it did not come with this pan so I decided that I would pick this one up separately and after looking everywhere locally found that I could buy it here competitively priced.

I love this set but as anyone that has ever cooked with stainless steel will tell you; it's not the same as cooking on something non stick and requires more attention to heat etc…

I love the handles; they have a silicone or similar material covering the stainless handle and are angled in a way that makes pouring much more comfortable than most department store pots and pans. The clear lids are great and have similar handles so you can see what your cooking and not burn your fingers when removing the lids.

Zojirushi EP-RAC50 Gourmet d'Expert 1350-Watt Electric Skillet

Zojirushi EP-RAC50 Gourmet d'Expert 1350-Watt Electric SkilletI had the older version of this skillet. It was half the price but only came with one pan. I loved it. The nonstick coating was virtually indestructible. I used metal utensils in it all the time and never got so much as a scratch. Well, I became so confident in the strength of the coating that I used a steak knife to cut a steak in half while it was in the pan to see if it was done. It wasn't knife proof. I guess I could have just ordered a replacement pan from Zojirushi, but I decided to buy this EP-RAC50 instead. It's better than the old one was. It's a little bigger, a little nicer looking. But I really like having the two pans. I can brown meat for spaghetti in the grill pan, and then boil noodles in the other. I don't even use the stove top anymore. You don't have to worry about pans being centered on the burner or sitting flat. Plus you have much more precise control over the temperature. It heats very evenly and the thermostat seems to be very accurate. I also like the fact that the nonstick coating is NOT Teflon, which is carcinogenic. And it's much more durable than Teflon. I don't need to use oil or butter because nothing sticks. Not even eggs. It wipes clean with a dry paper towel! Another nice thing is that you can remove the pan from the base so there's less chance of burning your food when it's done cooking unlike with some cheaper skillets where the pan and heating element are one unit. If this skillet breaks, I'll buy another one. It's worth every penny.

Gets hot quick.

Keeps the heat it is set for.

Looks good.

Very easy to clean.

Steaming food works great.

Cooks to perfection (so far).

Glass top makes it "fun" to use and see the cooking process.

A 2lb. meatloaf made in this pan was the best I've eaten and I didn't have to use the oven.

Next up is: Roast chicken and baking.

Wish:

1. That the pans were perfectly flat. The pans slope slightly to the outer edges and more oil is needed to compensate for the depth of the oil at the center. So trying to cook with less oil is difficult because the oil gathers toward the edges.

2. Hope they can make a Wok like pan insert that can be purchased as an option.

3. That the cover be tight fitting with the vent in the cover.

Other than that the product is the best electric skillet I've used.

I would recommend it to anyone.

How does it hold up after 6 months of use Feb. 2010 thru July 2010:

1. I only use wood and plastic utensils but the Pans scratch very easy and $77 plus to replace just one pan.

2. The manufacturer won't stand behind the pans unless you send it back to them for evaluation.

3. Even though the pans scratch, they clean-up without scrubbing. Very easy....

3. Contacting the factory rude.

4. Pans are not flat is still my biggest issue.

Still, the Zojirushi is the best and most versatile electric fry pan I've used.

I use it at least 4 to 5 times a week and I would but it again.

I bought this pan in March, and now that I have had it for almost a year I feel I can honestly say, 'It does everything as advertised'!

It can get REALLY HOT, or simply keep the meal warm.

No more 'hot spots' is one of my favorites! The pans heat evenly.

I love having two pans.I have used it for everything from soup to stir fry.

It has earned the title of 'Super Pan' in our house!

I wish I had this in my apartment living days! I got this as a present for a hotpot party from my husband. We were expecting 12 people over and I'd been using my cusinart fondue pot (which has worked when it's 4 to 6 of us). I have another electric skillet but it's old, cheap and not reliable. Hubby got this and (1) sticker shock, holy crap! (2) wow it's big! it's really big. I had thought about returning it b/c of the cost. I'm glad I didn't.

We used this as our non-spicy hot pot. Poured some seasoning, broth and water, bam ready in a matter of minutes. It boiled the broth. I was surprised. So this is great for a decent size group of people. It didn't burn my food it kept the broth at a stable temperature. The meats/foods were cold (refrigerated/frozen) but we didn't notice any drastic temperature changes. Even heating for all uses (steaming, boiling, pan frying)

It's also a pretty looking machine, very easy to use, very easy to clean! Non-stick for real and just a wet soapy sponge, and everything comes off. The nonstick coating is still working even after all the abuse of metal utensils, chopsticks, spatulas, whatever.

SAFE! If you happen to knock/trip on the power cord it'll pop off magnetized so you don't have to worry about the whole pot going with it. The handles on the pot stays cool even if the pot is boiling.

UPDATE:

I've steamed a whole fish (4lbs)!! I used the steamer rack with some ginger and scallions, let the water heat up, put the fish in, 10 minutes later, the softest, silkiest tender fish ever. It looks big at first but it's perfect even for 2 people

Steamed tofu with ginger/scallions same as above, also delish.

Soups easy peasy, used the large pot, browned the meat, threw in the veggies, then stock done!

Green Chile browned my meat and caramelized onions, threw in all the other ingredients and seasoning let this sucker simmer for a day...meat is so tender and flavorful, the chile was a hit.

Use the shorter pan to brown potstickers

Temperature settings are great! I haven't used my crockpot since we've gotten this it actually COOKS the food not just keeps it warm.

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES

Want Zojirushi EP-RAC50 Gourmet d'Expert 1350-Watt Electric Skillet Discount?

Most of my cooking with the Zojirushi EP-RAC50 is grilling. I grill vegetables using the shallow pan and have been impressed with its performance. The heat is evenly distributed across the pan preventing hot spots and burnt food. Cleanup has been simple, I have not had anything stick to the pan that required scrubbing. I have used the deep pan on a few occasions and have found it to work well. I have not steamed with the rack so I can not provide information on its performance. The exterior stays cool to the touch preventing burns and reducing heatin the kitchen.

The only weakness that I have detected is the power cord. It is not a standard cord that is easily replaced.

Cuisinart 77-412 Chef's Classic Stainless 4-Piece 12-Quart Pasta/Steamer Set

Cuisinart 77-412 Chef's Classic Stainless 4-Piece 12-Quart Pasta/Steamer SetThis was the 2nd choice of America's Test Kitchen. The first choice was about $350.I am very pleased with this steamer.I have used it to cook mustard greens, boil corn on the cob, and cook down apples for apple butter. It is well-made with a heavy bottom. It stays shiny like new, cleans up easily, and is so useful for larger cooking needs.Since buying this I have also purchased a complete set of pots by Cuisinart.Very good quality cookware.

We decided on the pot after wanting either All Clad or Le Cruset for a long time. But the cost for those brands is so high we decided to look at other brands. We looked at Calphalon, Analon, Cuisinart and JC Penny's house brand. After weighing all the prices and quality the decision to buy this pot seemed like a good one. Now we have used this pot 15-20 times we think it is an even better value. It is a great product. Heating is even and fast, things stay warm for a long time and cleanup is a snap. Of course if you want something you can throw in the dishwasher buy something else other than stainless. To keep these in tip shop shape they need to be hand washed, but it is definitely worth it.

I bought this to replace an older smaller pasta cooker.I have about 20 pieces of the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro cookware but couldn't justify spending over $100 for a large stockpot. The only notable difference is that the Multiclad has the sandwiched aluminum all the way up the sides of the pot.Not really necessary I thought for something I would use mostly for boiling water.Besides, the heat source is only really from below and that extra multiclad surface only adds to the weight.

I love the shiney exterior and the large capacity compared to my previous pasta pot. The steamer insert is a nice little extra but I'm not sure I'd want to haul out this enormous pot just to steam a few veggies. The lid is more domed than Cuisinart's standard lids and has a more sculpted handle.Cleanup is easy but only if you have a very large sink. The handles on both the pot and insert are solid and appear to be very securely attached.

So what's not to like?

This pot was a lot bigger than I anticipated. So large in fact that it doesn't fit in my normal cookware drawer.I ended up having to divide the pot from the insert just so it would fit in the cabinets. And that domed lid just adds to the height. The insert didn't need to stick out of the pot as far as it does and the handles on the insert come out further than those on the pot itself.Where the pot will barely fit, the insert won't just because of the handles. The other problem with the height of this pot comes when you try to use it on your stove.I nearly have to stick my head under the fan hood to see inside it!

The inside of both the pasta insert and the steamer basket won't drain completely. There are no drain holes along the bottom outer edges so the water continues to drip after removing it from the pot whenever it's tilted.I'm also not sure why they made the outsides of the insert and steam basket so shiny but made the insides brushed. This is almost the opposite of their fry pans.A shiny smooth inside would have made cleanup easier without the use of Teflon.

It would have received 5 stars except for these minor issues.

Amazon's size specs are off, so I took out my ruler and this is what I discovered:

The cladded base of the pot is 9.5 inches diameter, the interior space on the pot is about 10 or 10.5 inches diameter, and then the lips flare out a little bit near the stop (for easier pouring without drips) to 11 inches diameter.

The pot is about 9 inches tall, plus another 2 inches or so for the pasta insert, plus another few millimeters for the steamer insert lip, and then the lid and lid's handle adds another 1.5-2 inches or so.The total height is thus roughly 13 inches.

I own a lot of Cuisinart MultiClad Pro and Tramontina TriPlyClad, among other pieces, and I like this stockpot. For boiling water, you don't really need the extra weight and expense of cladded aluminum running up the sides, as the water itself will be the thermal conduit, through convection.

Big thumbs up for having holes on both the bottom AND the sides of the steamer insert. This design is harder to clog up than steamer inserts with only bottom holes.

Yes the size is inconvenient (would be better if it were shorter and fatter), but if you can deal with it, this is a great multi-pot.

Update International AFX-08H Eclipse Coated Aluminum Fry Pan with Molded Handle, 8-Inch

Update International AFX-08H Eclipse Coated Aluminum Fry Pan with Molded Handle, 8-InchPros: The coating is great, we have used it quite a bit the past month and I can flip eggs or whatever with just a silicone spatula without any oil. The pan is thick and distributes the heat very well.

Cons: I can't flip a crepe on it without using a spatula... this may not be a big deal to many people, but I enjoy it. things don't "stick", but food still clings to the pan so you have to use a spatula instead of just shaking it.

The big problem with this pan is that it isn't balanced well. The handle is made of some heaver steel so it won't sit flat on an electric stove... this may not be as big of a deal on a gas stove.

Also the aluminum seems to be fairly soft and I can see marks in it even though we have always been careful to not use metal utensils on it... so we'll see how it holds up in the long run.

Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless Steel Nonstick Omelette Pan

Le Creuset Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 8-Inch Nonstick Omelet PanGreat product Le Creuset. We own several other sets and this was not disappointing. Perfect weight distribution, beautiful finish and a perfect size for individual omelets.

The item arrived fast, well packaged, undamaged.

I would recommend this item. It isn't cheap but the quality and the fact that it will last for a very long time will make up the difference between this, and a less expensive pan.

I fell in love with LeCreuset cast iron pots, so when I wanted to replace my stainless set, I looked into LeCreuset tri-ply. I cook every day, and I have been very very pleased with my tri-ply set. Comfortable handles, easy-pour edges, and of course, even heating from heavy-duty high-quality pots and pans. At the time we bought the new set, we also ordered a non-stick pan because we go through omelet pans every couple years. Most recently, we bought Calphalon non-stick. BUT, the new LeCreuset are far superior to any we've ever had, plus, a 10-year warranty on the non-stick coating is very generous. This surface is the smoothest I've every used. It feels oiled, even when spotlessly clean. After loving our small omelet pan, we bought this larger one for scrambled eggs, sauteed veggies, and grilled sandwiches. We use it almost daily. Although the material says dishwasher safe, I prefer tohand-wash it, and it cleans up with just a wipe with a sponge. We use one or both of our LeCreuset non-stick pans almost every day, and they are terrific pans. I recommend them without reservation.

The omelet pan works really well. Easy to get the right shape and thickness. The non-stick surface worked and the clean-up was easy.

I don't have this exact one. Mines much older. It has close to a 100,000 miles on it, used almost daily, put in in the dishwasher regularly, and not a chip on it. No nasty Teflon either.

KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set

KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware SetReally beautiful on the stove. The shining, sloping sides add a very elegant and sophisticated air. Extremely quick and even heating. Handles stay cool. Just all around a great cookset! We almost didnt get it for 2 concerns: we were concerned the handles would get too hot (they stay cool!) and difficult cleaning ..we were looking for non-stick (these still clean quick and easy with a swipe of a brillo pad). We've since realized that non-stick would wear out in 5-7 years but without it...these should last almost forever!Great purchase.

I almost did not buy this cookware set because of the reviews that mentioned leaking rivets. But here's the real deal.

The rivets that attach the handles to the pans are located high on the sides of the pans.If you fill a pot clear up to the rivets, you'll have lots of splashes and spatters as you cook and stir. The easy solution?Use a bigger pot!No spatters, and no leaks.

Out of curiosity, when I was washing mine prior to use I did fill them up over the rivets, and no leaks on my set.

So, a little more on the set in general.I purchased this as a replacement for my 35 year old Revereware, which was wobbly on my new glass induction stove. Also wanted to get rid of the nonstick stuff for health reasons. This is perfect, very stable, great heat conduction, glass lids fit well and make it easy to monitor cooking.A joy to use, and on top of that they look gorgeous.

My suggestion is to notice the cooking hints in these reviews, and to google "cooking with stainless steel cookware" for more hints. With a few minor tweaks to my cooking techniques (which admittedly had gotten sloppy over the years), clean up is a breeze. The basics: heat it dry on 5 for 5 minutes, add butter or oil to hot pan, turn the heat down to 3 and cook more slowly than you may have been doing.Perfect eggs, veggies, grilled cheese sandwiches etc. Then when you're putting the meal on the table, let the pans cool a bit, give a quick swish with a nylon scrubbie, and add warm soapy water before you sit down to eat. After the meal, they clean as easily as nonstick cookware. So easy!

I also ordered the 1.75 qt pot and 4.75 qt pan with helper handle, and these will probably get more use than some of the items in the 10 piece set.

Absolutely love my new cookware!

Update: 6 years later and I still love the set! They work great. They're holding up well. No issues at all. They work great with my induction burner/hot plate thing.

Original review:

This cookware is wonderful! I purchased it after going through my second set of anodized nonstick that didn't stay nonstick. I wish they had more pieces available that match. I've already bought the saute pan and the roaster separately. Unfortunately, I had to get a nonmatching KitchenAid saucier.

I'll admit I wasn't thrilled about the sloping sides at first. But they've grown on me -they work. The lids don't get as hot as other pans I have.

It heats evenly and holds the heat forever. They're easy to clean a few minutes soak for the worst mess works and you can use brillo pads. You can use metal utensils (wisks, spatulas, *SPOONS*) in it. Folks, there is a reason that you never see the real chefs on Food Network using nonstick!

But for me personally, the best was when my mother-in-law came to stay for a few weeks and realized she had made a mistake paying big bucks for her All-Clad set. All-Clad is nice and great for the status conscious, but if you're actually planning to cook with your pans, why don't you get a set that leaves you some money to buy the great ingredients to match. (Don't get me wrong. My MIL is a great cook -but I think a salesman convinced her to buy the A-C for her new induction cooktop.)

If you're looking for a great set -this is it.

This cookware set is visually appealing, though it discolors with even low heat from a gas stove. Successive uses, though, tend to remove the discoloration. It distributes heat nicely around the base and allows boiling liquids inside to circulate well from top to bottom.

This said, my experience with Meyer's customer service (Meyer Corp. out of Vallejo, CA produces and provides support for KitchenAid-brand cookware) has been far from stellar. Three items in the purchased set contained bubbles in the copper/steel base visible from the bottom.

I contacted Meyer to return the defective items and was put through quite a bit of hassle. The representative first gave a stock answer without reading my message. Then I had to quote KitchenAid's "Hassle-Free Replacement Warranty" to get Meyer to pay for shipping the defective product as it is within the first year of ownership. When the replacements finally arrived about five weeks later, one item was dented. I have requested another warranty replacement for the remaining item. It is now over two months since my initial purchase and I still do not have a complete set.

Conclusion:

Physical product: 4 out of 5

Warranty service: 2 out of 5

Total: 3 out of 5

These are wonderful pots and pans. They have a nice heft without being too heavy, excellent even heat conduction (and they stay hot a long time--if you have electric stove you can turn off burner before cooking is complete, and don't forget to use medium heat). Also very sturdy. (I accidentally dropped an expensive Calphalon lid in the store when shopping, and it easily dented--I was NOT impressed).Handles stay cool, but you should know that the lid handles will get hot with prolonged cooking.

FYI: the lid to the 4 qt saucepan fits the 8" skillet-otherwise, lids are not interchangeable and the 10" skillet doesn't come with one--too bad, I could use one. Also, I find the 10" skillet a bit small (and the 12" that you can buy separately a bit big and heavy, such that it has a helper handle)

I've had mine long enough to use them every day in every cooking situation, and find them very easy to clean.I rarely have to use anything stronger than a "tuffie" or scotchbrite pad with a quick soak.As for the other complaints that they stain, my experience with stainless steel is that they all stain some. The vinegar and baking soda trick works, as does boiling a little auto dish detergent and water in the pan.

But I don't care if my pans are perfect. The outsides stay nice and shiny and the style of these are beautiful and a pleasure to use.

I also purchased the large saute pan(wonderful capacity) and the 10" nonstick skillet(for eggs) to round out my set, both of which I love and use all the time.

For anyone who loves to cook, a real winner! This set should last a lifetime.
