Nordic Ware Superior Steel 8 Inch Saute Pan

Nordic Ware Superior Steel 8 Inch Saute PanI disagree wholeheartedly with the other review; not only is Nordicware the best saute pan I've ever used; It has better a non-stick surface than any other piece of cookware I've ever used; baking pans, roasting pans included.

It looks great; it has a beautiful look; however, works extremely well. The handle never heats up, despite it being all-metal. Thanks to this lovely feature, I can also use it in my oven twice a week. :D It is also American-Made and a tremendous value. I wouldn't trust anything from China that touches my food for a second. It's not safe.

I would not purchase this pan again. It was supposed to be durable and non-stick. I was very dissatisfied with it's performance.

Waring Pro WMK300A Professional Stainless-Steel Belgian Waffle Maker

Waring Pro WMK300A Professional Stainless-Steel Belgian Waffle MakerI have had this waffle maker for a little over a year so it is now out of warranty. It just stopped heating up last weekend. After some online research I found out what goes wrong. When I plug mine in the orange light turns on and you can hear the relay click but it does not get hot.If you are experiencing this problem and you are out of warranty please don't throw out your waffle maker. It can be fixed and the part is only $1.50.The part you need is a thermal fuse and it can be found under the round stainless cover of the lower griddle. It is a 250v 240 degree celsius thermal fuse.It is covered by a white silicon tube.Apparently this thermal fuse overheats and blows and power no longer gets to the burners.I have replaced the fuse and my waffle maker works again. This is a really great product but they either have the wrong size fuse in the unit or it was defective.Mine blew when I made a batch of waffles, turned off the unit and then turned it back on to make a second batch. It never heated back up.I kept my temperature control at 3.5.I hope this helps all you waffltiers out there. Also, the golden waffle mix is the best and you need to buy an isi brand whip cream dispenser. You add two pints of heavy whipping cream and three table spoons of powdered sugar and have the best whip cream for those tasty waffles. If you have questions leave me a comment and I will check back.

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) ()The Waring Pro Belgian Waffle Maker will look familiar to most people who have stayed at a hotel that offers a complimentary continental breakfast. The waffle maker is usually located next to the toaster, with cups of batter nearby. Those continental breakfasts are a huge reason why I now own this waffle maker: my husband fell in love with the idea of owning one ourselves.Note that this waffle maker is essentially the same as Waring Pro WMK300 Belgian Waffle Maker, Brushed Stainless. The only difference is a handle that folds down for easier storage -and even that may have changed since I bought my first 300 model.Everything else is the same. Although the product description calls this "stainless steel," only the exterior of the waffle iron itself is stainless steel; the base is a gray plastic.

The operation is simple. Plug it in and wait for the iron to preheat. Brush or spray a little oil on the surface. Pour batter on the nonstick grid, close the top, rotate the handle, and wait for the machine to beep when the waffle is done. Rotate the iron back to the original position, lift the lid, and remove the waffle. The whole cooking process takes about five minutes. The only real trick to operating this waffle maker is finding a good recipe. I didn't bother trying Waring's selections and instead found my favorite recipe online.

If you use a cooking spray instead of brushing on oil, make sure that you use the kind for grilling and high heat cooking. The original Pam leaves a sticky residue since it is not meant for such temperatures. A good, flavorless oil works best.

The whole thing cleans up in minutes, if not seconds. The nonstick grids release the waffles so cleanly that I never have to clean it. Too much batter poured onto the surface might require some exterior clean-up, but the removable metal pan underneath the waffle iron can be easily hand-washed. A temperature control allows you to control the darkness/crispness of your waffles. The manufacturer suggests a setting of 4; I found that I had to set it to 5 before I got an adequately crisp result. (This may have to do with the recipe I use as well as my personal preference for a crisp exterior.)

For recipes, I suggest that cooks use those that require stiff egg white folded into the batter for the classic Belgian waffle. These recipes usually only take ten minutes or so to whip up, and are not as time-consuming as those that require yeast.

All in all, I like this waffle maker. Now, if only my husband would make waffles at home as he does in hotels, instead of waiting for me to do it.

()After I ordered this waffle maker, I went back and reviewed all the advice previous purchasers gave about it.I was shocked by all the disappointment people had with it, but it made me even more curious about what it would be like.I have to say that even after only one use, I completely disagree with the bad reviews this waffle maker had received!

I understand that it would be frustrating if it dies after only a few months or even a year.We all desire for small appliances to last a long time. And since I just received it this week, I cannot speak to how it will fare for me, BUT, it's performance and the pleasure of my family at breakfast this morning far outweighs my concerns about a short life span of this waffle maker.

It makes amazing !!! waffles. My mom always gave me the advice that before you start trying your own recipes, use the ones that come with the machine. So, I started out with the overnight waffle recipe from the manual.I made it last night and then added the eggs, vanilla, and baking soda this morning per the recipe.I followed the directions (which were wonderfully detailed) and made a batch of delicious waffles.I started with the setting on #4 as the manual recommended and actually preferred them a little darker (in between the 4 and 5).My husband was blown away by how light and airy the waffles were.We (my husband, mother, and I) all agreed that we have never had a lighter, airier waffle!

So, I am truly excited about this waffle maker. There are a few other reasons (besides the waffles themselves) why I love this waffle maker.#1: There is an audible beep when it is ready to be used and it beeps when the waffle is done. This is great for a mom like me (of 3 little ones) who is always on the go and not always within eyeshot of the waffle maker.

#2: There is an on/off switch.Every other waffle maker I've ever seen only turns on and off with the plug in of the cord.

#3: The cord neatly wraps around the inside of the bottom.

#4: The measuring cup is the perfect guide of how much to put in for each waffle.

#5: The nonstick grid works great.I sprayed it each time with cooking spray (and the directions note not to spray it until it is heated and ready for use).I used regular cooking spray from BJ's.I didn't need to pay for the expensive high heat spray and it still worked great.I noticed another reviewer preferred that and I'm sure it works great, but if you don't have it, your regular spray will work fine.

#6:The removable tray that goes under the waffle maker makes clean up a snap!

I did carefully read and follow the directions which made it easy to use.Use the enclosed measuring cup (which is packed in the carboard around the waffle maker), pour in the batter, and then turn 180 degrees, and cook.At first, my batter oozed out along the edge. The main reason for that is that our kitchen is a tiny bit slanted. But, I think all houses are like that. So, make sure you pick the counter in your kitchen that is most level.

As for the cost versus the life of this appliance, I have one thought to share--For my family, it would cost $45 for us to go out to breakfast and have Belgian waffles in a restaurant. After only 2 breakfasts, this waffle maker will have paid for itself!

Happy Waffling!

I'm very happy I chose this model. It's sturdy, easy and fun to use. We made 2 baches of waffles, and all of them came out absolutely perfect ( exept first waffle)!! Kids loved those big, brown waffles. I have no expirience in waffle backing, but I did itfrom the first try ! No spils if you pour the right amount of batter ( I used the included cup measure ). Don't forget to spray some oil after you preheat the iron.

For the waffle mix I set 4 minutes, for the recepie 5.5 minutes. Easy to clean with wet paper towel. Those reminder beeps are so great, I can do something alse while its baking.

Me and my family are very pleased with this product !

updating june 7 . We still love our waffle maker. Works fine, waffles came out nice and crispy. Its a real treat for kids, guests and my husband :)

This waffle iron works great 5 or 6 times, then it shorts out and quits heating. This is a major flaw in the design. I can safely say that because the same thing happened to me not once, but twice! This is the first appliance I have ever owned that I've needed to use the manufactuer's warranty. I'm now on my 3rd waffle iron in a year, and unfortunately, will no longer be able to get a new waffle iron under warranty. When this one quits heating, I will definitely buy a different waffle maker. You should too!

Updated August 2012: In their defense, the 3rd replacement waffle iron is still working 3.5 years later and I haven't had to replace it. Perhaps the fatal flaw has been fixed???

Oneida Gourmet Pro Hard Anodized Saute Pan

Oneida Gourmet Pro Hard Anodized Saute Pan, 8-InchI purchased this pan because I already owned the 8 inch pan and loved it. So easy to clean and you don't need to use a lot of oil or butter to saute because nothing sticks to this pan. It is also not very heavy so it is easy to handle and the cushioned handle makes it a pleasure to use. I cook a all the time and this pan is a must have in my collection of cookware.

I purchased this pan and kept it for about a month, having used it two times. The first time (I used it both times for a fried egg) if carefully placed on a gas burner, was okay. The nonstick surface worked well. The second time I used it the handle being so much heavier than the pan tipped over when the pan is not exactly centered on the gas burner. I actually find it hard to believe that this pan was ever actually used in a kitchen before being manufactured. It is totally off-balanced. The handle is much too heavy for the light weight pan. Or as my husband concluded, the pan is much too light for the handle! In any event, I did return it to BB&Y. And I might addno questions asked.

After going through many teflon coated pans (my kids NEVER would take proper care of them, throwing them in the sink with forks and knives on top, storing them with other pots in them), I broke down and tried this one.

WOW!Very non-stick, and very durable!

I saw some reviews that said it was not very non-stick.My works great!I cook eggs every day, without any problems whatsoever. I would recommend a light "curing" (heat with some oil in it) before your first use.

I cook a lot, and I'm happy with the pan (weight, handle, cost).

Only con is the base of the pan is a touch smaller than it should be, resulting, on my stove top, the pan sitting at an angle if not positioned 'just so.'

This pan is indeed very useful, especially when you cook small portions for kids.

Non stick and easy to clean.

Can be used in the oven up to 400F degrees.

But (the reason for 3 and not 5 stars) it is hand wash only...

Lodge Logic LMP3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Melting Pot, 14-Ounce

Lodge Logic LMP3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Melting Pot, 14-OunceI'm replacing all my cookware with Lodge Logic. This little pot seemed like a luxury item, since I expected to use it to melt chocolate and butter or scald milk. But I cook and bake a lot so decided to treat myself to a specialty item.

It was delivered a few minutes ago, and I can immediately see a lot of uses for it, including: reheating gravy, heating a single serving of vegetables or other side dish, warming a 14 oz. serving of soup. And of course, melting chocolate and butter.

It has a pleasing shape, and the handle is a good length.Spouts on either side will make pouring easy and neat.Another winner, Lodge!

I bought this thinking it would get used once in a while to melt some butter or heat up some syrup.I find that it is the most used cast iron tool in my arsenal. It has almost eliminated the use of my microwave which is a good thing.Left over soups, chili, and just about anything else that is liquid or semi-solid gets heated in this thing. It is the perfect size for leftovers and being quite small it heats up quick for cast iron.It keeps your syrup warm on the table until your last pancake and you can pour it from the pot without a mess.It cleans easy, nothing sticks to it and doesn't take up space. This is a must have for any collector of fine cast iron cookware or anyone that cooks for that matter.

I really love this little pot.It is a perfect size for so many uses.It is very impressively made, as are all the US-made Lodge products.

I also enjoy the gentle pour spouts on each side.I'm left-handed so chances are if there was only a spout on one side it would be the wrong one.

I agree with P. Callen that it was not packed well, however.Mine was just tossed into the bottom of a much larger box with some of those air bags so it was jostling around.I was lucky that it came from the amazon warehouse that is only 30 miles from my house but I imagine if I had to travel, and be handled, more it would have been at peril.Just going from my UPS hub (the same one for the amazon warehouse) to delivery the box was already showing wear.

I own lots of Lodge items, but won't bore you with the merits of using cast iron especially since I don't think a pot of this size really demonstrates all the strengths of cast iron cookware.

I purchased this little guy for 1 main reason and I have not been disappointed. I cook a lot of Indian dishes things like dal and meat/veg curries. A common technique in Indian cooking is to heat some fat in a little pot and quickly add spices, chilies, ginger, garlic, etc. for a minute or so. Then you dump the mix into another pot which has cooked the main ingredient things like lentils, beans, etc. The technique is called "tarka" and is an easy way to add a lot of flavor to a dish. This little pot is the perfect size for this not too big, not too small.

I have since discovered another use for the pot. It is perfect for cooking one egg! You need very little water to poach and the small size keeps the egg compact. It's great for frying too since the egg doesn't stick to the properly seasoned cast iron.

The only problem I have with the pot is that the bottom diameter is a bit too small. I have a hard time keeping it stable on my gas burners. I fix that problem by placing a small cast iron trivet between the pot and the burner.

Want Lodge Logic LMP3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Melting Pot, 14-Ounce Discount?

I have been using a lodge logic skillet and 5 quart pot and love them. However, I live by myself and eggs are my main source of protein.I love soft-poached eggs and it was bothering me every morning and night when I boiled two inches of water in the 5 quart pot because it was so wasteful of water, natural gas, and vegetable oil.So I took a chance and ordered this to poach my eggs.

I am not disappointed. It only takes a few minutes for the water to boil and a minute later I am eating, as opposed to the length of time it took before, about four times the time to boiling. Not only that, but after the eggs come out I drop in a broth cube and have some "egg drop" soup before I eat my eggs.I plan on using it to make a single serving eggnog (I drink the good kind that risks salmonella but it's worth it completely different from the carton in the dairy section!)

I do have to say that the bottom is not wide enough to intercept direct flame from a regular gas burner no doubt if it was the time to boiling would be cut even further. But I am still saving 3/4 of the gas and water, which is no longer dumped down the drain since it is the right amount for a cup of broth.

I think I also like the flexibility of cast iron.If I suddenly have a whim I can put it on the grill or over a wood based campfire. My non-cast iron has been retired.

Rachael Ray Cast Iron 12-Inch Skillet with Helper Handle and 2 Pour Spouts, Orange

Rachael Ray Cast Iron 12-Inch Skillet with Helper Handle and 2 Pour Spouts, OrangeThis Rachael Ray cast iron 12" skillet with helper handle and pour spouts is slightly different than another version with silicone handles which this one doesn't have. But this model can go up to 500F in the oven where the other only did 450F. This may be the new release as the other has been unavailable for over a year. Our family will use this skillet for years to come so get it while it's here.

PS. It is a black interior as pictured not as described in white.

I had high hopes for this pan. However, a number of items contributed to my ultimate disappointment:

1. After receiving it, I read in the instructions that one should not use of the pan on a glass stove top. The reason is because it is assumed that moving it around on the burner will scratch the glass. While you might think this would be obvious, I did not see this warning anywhere in the listing and I have another cast iron pan that I've used for months on my stove top without any problems. No biggie. I decided to try it anyway and just refrain from moving the pan laterally on the stove top.

2. Immediately after setting the pan on my glass stove top (which was off), I noticed why it was probably not recommended. The pan is warped and would not lay flat. I probably wouldn't have noticed this on a 1960s style electric range.

3. At this point, I proceeded to cook a couple of garden burgers in it. I used a little bit of oil in case the "non stick" interior was insufficient. (Fair warning: this is not Teflon, but some other coating or maybe just a polished finish.) At the end, I turned the heat off (which was never above medium) and placed a lid I have on the pan so the cheese on the burgers would melt. The perfectly circular lid did not fit because at least one of the axes on the pan is somewhat eccentric. So I tried another perfectly circular lid and it suffered the same problem. Both of these lids tightly fit all the other pans I have with the same diameter.

4. Not wanting to ruin the finish, I soaked the pan for a few minutes per the instructions, then tried to wipe the garden burger, cheese, and a little BBQ sauce off the pan. Recall I used probably a tablespoon of oil for the two garden burgers. No amount of scrubbing with a sponge would remove the residue. After it dried, I managed to chip most of it off with a fingernail, but this is not something I would be willing to do on a regular basis.

In conclusion, I have to say that if it hadn't been warped, the pan would be a reasonable $19 cast iron skillet, like the Lodge Logic L10SK3 12-Inch Pre-Seasoned Skillet provided I could use an abrasive to clean it. Non-stick? Er, no...

It is a pan and functions as one, more or less, so I gave it two stars, however I will be returning it and getting my $80 back.

I think the skillet was a great buy. I have it in orange. Spent months looking for this item. Then it was out of stock. Then there was more stock and I purchased it. Watched RR use it a year ago for the first time on her show. RR cooked with a blue one and a red one on her show as well as the orange. I kept sending the show e-mails since I had my heart set on the red skillet and got no response, ever. I settled on orange. Whatever color it is a great skillet with great price. I agree with all the good cooks of the world everyone should have a good cast iron skillet.

Heuck 33002 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron 3-Piece Skillet Set

Heuck 33002 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron 3-Piece Skillet SetI bought this 3-pack iron skillet set at a discount store years ago for $15 after my sister had gone on about how great her new cast iron pan was. Curious, I thought "they're so cheap, why not try?" At the time I had many really fancy non-stick pans, anodized aluminum pans, stainless steel pans; you name it. Well, I still have those pans, but now they sit in the cupboard while the cast iron pans have gained a permanent place atop my stove. The cast iron pans are *that* fantastic. At first, I thought I didn't like them, because while the set says they're pre-seasoned, it does take a bit more seasoning (rub with lard or shortening and put it in the stove for 15 min, then wipe off) and actual cooking (the real seasoning) in the pans before they get blacker and begin acting like nonstick pans (without chemicals). Yes, you may burn some food at first, but that passes, and the nonstick, heat-retaining result is totally worth it. Expect your pans to blacken with use (blacker=more nonstick). The pans heat evenly, and retain that heat(unlike aluminum and nonstick), so food cooks more evenly and tastes so much better! Also, I learned that you DO NOT USE SOAP on these; just clean with a stainless steel scrubber and really hot water. Soap will ruin cast iron, as the seasoning will come off and it will rust. I suspect the reviewer who dislikes these pans probably doesn't know how cast iron cookware works. These pans are so nice to use, and they keep getting better and better with more use. As they are sturdy, I expect that they will stay with me for the rest of my life, then be passed on to future generations. This cookware is totally worth it. If you are wondering whether to try them, just do it you'll be happy you did.

These cast iron pans are heavy and appear to be of good quality except for the fact that after only two or 3 uses, I get black paint from the pan in everything I cook.I have some lodge cast iron pans and they are wonderful. Spend the extra $2 on lodge pans and you'll love them. The smallest pan in this set is useless.

I purchased this set a month ago. Let me first say that this is a small skillet set be sure you pay attention to the listed sizes. I didn't and was a bit surprised at how small they were.

After reading the reviews prior to ordering, I made sure that I RESEASONED all three skillets prior to using and also used no detergents, only a brush and water to clean. I only used the largest skillet a handful of times before the coating started to come off! I decided not to go through Amazon and complain, but go directly to the manufacturer, Heuck. This is their response:

"Thanks for your purchase of Heuck cookware. The preseaoned coating is meant to be temporary it isn't a permanent coating.Normally it wears off with use in 6 months to a year; afterward the pan has to be seasoned. In your case, the use of the brush may have caused the coating to begin to flake off.Sometimes there are rough spots in the coating and part of the coating could flake. It doesn't represent a hazard, but you'll want to season the pan according to the use and care instructions right away to make sure it doesn't rust. You also have the option to return to Amazon for exchange or refund if you'd rather do that."

Interesting that because of the coating I did not have to SCRUB with the brush, so I doubt it was the fault of my brushing. I believe this to be the fault of poor manufacturing. I realize this was a cheap set and I guess I get what I paid for. Too bad really. I love cast iron and will continue to purchase cast iron, but never again any product from Heuck.

This purchase was a big mistake.I want good quality cast iron for cooking. However, this black paint looking stuff on modern cast iron that is described as 'pre-seasoned' is nothing but another contaminant for our food.I have already seen too many of these in stores with the 'pre-seasoning' chipping and peeling off.I won't risk cooking in these even once.

Why can we not purchase cast iron that has to be seasoned by the purchaser the old fashioned way?At least then I would know what was getting mixed in my food. I didn't send these back to Amazon only because the shipping would have taken 2/3 of my refund. These will go in my next garage sale still in the original box and unused.

Also, I was not aware that these were Made in China until I saw the paper sticker on the bottom of one of the skillets. With all the dangerous contaminants that have made the news in the last year on products made in China I certainly do not trust that the 'pre-season' material is safe.If the Chinese found a way to make it cheaper with some dangerous substance they probably did it.

I did manage to find a vintage Wagner skillet of the size I need most listed on an auction site and purchased it.No 'pre-season' paint on that one.

Want Heuck 33002 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron 3-Piece Skillet Set Discount?

The "pre-seasoning" started to peel off as small flakes and then larger flakes until the bottom of the pan was significantly mottled. The flakes come off in the food, which can't contribute to a healthy diet. I would give this a minus rating if i could.

De Buyer Mineral Steel Country Pans

De Buyer Mineral 12.5 Inch Steel Country PanBefore placing my order, I was not sure I really needed this, now it has become my favorite. After seasoning with potato peels as directed, it was stick-free from its first use, as is the case for 2 other pans by De Buyer a 7-inch crepe pan and an 8-inch omelet pan, all excellent and a pleasure to use -the pleasure given by the use of these pans may well be an important reason some people buy them. It feels right and secure in the hand, it has a certain balance, its quality is everywhere obvious. But the size of this pan may be a problem for some people.I could easily see that a 12.5 inch pan would fit my stove, but the size of the handle astonished me when I first saw it; I debated sending it back. It will fit inside the oven which is more or less average in size, but only sideways, not straight in.Others with small kitchens should think of the size of the handle, not the diameter of the pan.The handle alone is about 12 inches long, total length of pan including the loop handle on the other side is 26 inches. The handle, by the way, does not get hot where I hold it, though it does get hot down at the bottom, and this is after simmering a dish for an hour or more. The handle rises about 7-1/2 inches above the burner.

First rate in every way now that I am accustomed to it.I think it is a better choice than the ordinary 12-inch skillet like a deep dish chicken frier. So I give it 7 stars.

Delivery time was excellent, better than predicted by Amazon.

I've had this pan for about 6 months now. I love it. It cooks beautifully, cleans up like a dream it does discolor, but that doesn't affect the cooking and is easy to manipulate on the stove. I appreciate the long handle although that makes it a bit harder to store in a cupboard (I store mine in the drawer under my stove). This pan has all the advantages of non-stick and none of the disadvantages. It's much lighter than my cast iron. It should last my lifetime and I've already told my cooking son that he'll inherit it (and I hope to live and cook many more years before that happens).

Buy De Buyer Mineral Steel Country Pans Now

This is a nice pan, great non-stick without the coatings/chemicals, quite versatile and well built.

Ever see those restaurant pans that look very functional but with lots of little dings and dents? This is kind of like that but won't get the dings and dents because it's thicker steel.

That thickness adds some additional weight.

Have used it six months now and it's earned a permanent spot on the stove to have it ready at hand. Next to the pressure cooker (which I use every time I cook). And this on an induction stove for efficiency and speed. It replaces a black cast iron skillet that I've used for years, but which wasn't as high-sided like this one. The black skillet is nice and I still use it from time to time, but it's not the daily go-to anymore, this de Buyer is now.

Cleanup is usually just a rinse with hot water as recommended by the manufacturer.

For seasoning I never put it in the oven for hours as some recommend, but did boil potato skins to remove the coating it arrived with. Then heated on the stove to let it dry out and wiped on a thin layer of oil which I repeat every so often depending on use, but probably about once a week.

If you don't coat it, it will rust, though only a very thin layer as the steel is good quality and smooth.

It works well with eggs and frying in general. I also use it as a wok for stir frying and have even used it for chili (yes with tomatoes).

Overall very happy with this pan. Would recommend it highly.

I will first say, French Steel pans are not "pretty".They are not shiny stainless or copper. What they are is practical. There is a reason why they are used in commercial kitchens, and that is for their performance. They are heavy duty, and conduct heat beautifully on just about any cooktop (work exceptionally well on induction) and will build up a non-stick patina just like your mama's cast iron fry pans over time. These are "lifetime" pans.I love the shape of this particular pan, for it's high sides, as well as the ergonomic handle.Because they're steel, they will rust, so you must care for these just like mama's cast iron. Some will look at this as an inconvenience or a hassle and that's fine. This pan is not for everyone.Think of it as a big steel wok. They get that black slick patina. These pans are for serious cooks who love good cookware.Follow the directions provided to establish your first layer of patina. As the pan is used, it will continue to improve. This is a pan your kids will fight for when your gone!

I have some decent pans from All Clad, Le Crueset, Staub and this is my favorite. This is the pan that I reach for most in my day to day cooking. It has all the benefits of cast iron, at about 2/3 the weight. It is an excellent wok, the large flat bottom, high sides and the heavy iron will generate enough heat to stir fry properly on a residential stove. These iron pans requires some TLC but if you season it well, it will thank you with wonderful meals.

CucinaPro 1654 Stainless Steel Electric Skillet 16 Inch - Non-Stick Interior

CucinaPro 1654 Stainless Steel Electric Skillet 16 Inch - Non-Stick InteriorWe had an older Waring electric skillet that was losing it's non-stick coating and needed replacement. This thing is in a whole different category. Much larger and does a much better job of maintaining a constant temperature. The construction is very high quality. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

I cook simple meals since it is just the two of us and I use this pan several times a week.I debated between the 14 inch and 16 inch pan and decided on the 16 inch.It is large.Probably more than the two of us need but it really doesn't matter. It cleans up with a wipe of a towel and it has even heating.

My husband and I received the 16 inch skillet as a wedding gift 8 years ago. We hadn't registered for it and thought that it was too large to store and wouldn't be used very often. We were wrong. This is one of the appliances that we would never give up. It still cooks evenly and the non-stick is still perfect. It is large enough to make full breakfast for our family of four. I am confident that it will hold up for years to come and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality skillet.

PRO: If you need a large size skillet and want one of the highest quality this is the one to get. It's bright stainless finish and see-thru lid will impress everyone who see's it. I needed to replace a very old 12" skillet and wanted one a little larger. This CucinaPro 1654 is just what I was looking for. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

CON: A little on the heavy side. To me this is a minor thing.

KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle, Red

KitchenAid Aluminum Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle, RedI bought this pan specifically for making pancakes.I had purchased a Nordic grill pan at Costco awhile ago, and had just started using it -it was a disaster. It heated unevenly, was very hard to clean, and the nonstick surface wore off if you looked at it sideways.

So after checking Amazon reviews, I decided to try this one.I am completely satisfied with this pan!I use it every week for pancakes, and they turn out perfectly -the pan heats evenly, the nonstick surface is pristine, and it's very easy to clean.I may well start using it for other purposes.

It is a little on the small side (I can only do 4 pancakes at a time), but that's inevitable; if the pan were any bigger, it wouldn't heat as evenly, and wouldn't cook as well.I don't consider that a defect -I consider that a necessary physical limitation of cooking on a non-commercial stove.

If I had to buy another grill pan, I'd buy this one again.

I purchased this pan from Unbeatable Sale through Amazon.com to replace a similar one which was wearing from the use of an "unfriendly" dishwasher detergent. I use it for breakfast sausage, bacon, hamburgers, french toast, grilled cheese sandwiches and other items. Both the previous and current pans are great. I changed dishwasher detergents also! I hope that helps preserve them.

A very good pan at this price point: exceptional, in fact.Heats evenly, top grade non-stick surface, stay cool handle, useful depth to pan and flexibility of steam retained or released by a twist of the lid that also provides a drain option when pan is tipped.

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-by-9-Inch Rectangular Skillet with Cast-Iron Flat Press, Oran

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-by-9-Inch Rectangular Skillet with Cast-Iron Flat Press, OrangeI have always wanted to try this cookware but truthfully have been too cheap! I finally got this particular pan and am in love with it! I will be expanding my collection soon I hope. For the first 2 weeks this pan was literally always on the stove. You can cook anything in it and clean up is awesome. The press helps cook meats faster than I've ever seen! Bacon goes from the fridge to crisp in literally 2 minutes! It makes awesome scambled eggs too. I cannot say enough good things about it. You have to try it to believe it!

I really like bacon but I've always had a hard time with getting it to cook evenly, that's why I purchased this pan.It really does a good job with heating evenly and the press keeps the bacon flat on the pan so the ends don't curl up and then not cook.I've also discovered that because of it's shape and non stick properties, it does a great job on french toast because you can put 4 slices in the pan at once and just like the bacon, it cooks evenly. My only complaint is that the handle on the press should have been made so that it doesn't conduct heat. After a while you have to use an oven mit to pick up the press. If the handle could be made to stay cool, I would have given it 5 stars.

I am using this about four times as often as I anticipated, sometimes with the press, which works great, and sometimes without.Amazing the versatility that the shape of the skillet provides. Heavy, but not crippling.;)I don't think anyone would have regrets about this purchase.

I ordered all of the Rachael Ray Pans and I have to say the quality is supurb. They clean up easily and do not stick.I bought the hard anodized or something like that. You have to cook on medium heat and no higher but the outcome of what you are preparing will make you proud. Try it I'm sure you will love it as much as I do.

After using this for a little over six months, I can honestly say there are both good things and not-so-good things.Love the size and shape that's the primary reason for purchasing. We used this skillet on average twice a week for cooking bacon and cook on a smooth cooktop surface. At this point, our primary dissatisfaction is that the center of the skillet has bowed inward a bit.Now the bacon in the center 4-5" of the skillet burns before the ends of each piece are completely cooked.Because we thoroughly allow cooking utensils to return to room temperature before washing them and always wash them by hand, this should not have happened. The bacon press is nice and heavy and does its job well. When using the bacon press, the bacon cooks much more evenly.I will probably try another brand of skillet to see if there's something out there that will hold up better.

Nylon Pan Scrapers (Set of 2)

Nylon Pan ScrapersThese little pot scrapers are something every household should have. They ought to be as ubiquitous as cellulose sponges with an attached scouring pad.

A little nylon scraper will save your scouring pads from shredding and turning black. It can scrape cast iron skillets without transferring any soap to the seasoned surface.Have you ever tried to get burnt cheese off of steel or aluminum? If you take care of it, the scraper will outlast 20 kitchen sponges before it gets any nicks or scratches.

Why don't grocery stores stock these next to the Dawn or Palmolive bottles? It's because these scrapers are not disposable. You buy a 2-pack once, you're converted for life, but you never have to replace them. You're now buying fewer sponges. The store's gross margin is negative.

I got a set of these a few years ago and use them regularly. They are very sturdy and the thick rounded end allows you to use a lot of pressure without hurting your hands.I have used them with teflon coated cookie sheets and skillets, and the shape allows me to get into corners without any problem. The scrapers have lasted me a few years now without getting any knicks in them and without scratching any of my cookware.I was surprised to see Amazon's suggestion to use one for scraping ice off the car, I do not think I would recommend them for that use.Their size is very handy for pots and pans, but VERY narrow for using on a car windshield, and you don't have the same type of leverage as an ice scraper made for that purpose.

Buy Nylon Pan Scrapers (Set of 2) Now

Pan scrapers are an indespensible tool for a sanitary, well run kitchen. They are the most effecient way to clean grime off of plates and cooking utensiles. When you are done, you just rinse them off and pop them into the dishwasher to sanitize them! I really hate those scrubbing sponges that get caked with food I cannot ever completely rinse out, and they end up grimy and stinky. These scrapers are solid, nonabsorbant material that do the job without creating a bigger job in the process. That is why I also love the SOS Tuffy and other non absorbant cleaning tools. They never get logged down with the crud I just cleaned from another surface. I know people whose whole kitchen stinks because of their nasty cleaning sponges that are a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. Scrapers never do that I run a completely adequate kitchen and don't own even a single sponge! I have a dishcloth that I boil in the mocrowave each night (sponges don't take well to boiling) and along with my Tuffies and pan scrapers I have everything I need. No smelly kitchen!

These particular pan scrapers are great, but I give them only 4 stars instead of 5 stars because there is another brand with a more effective shape for cleaning. The Lodge pan scrapers get the highest rating from me because they have a better contour for getting into the shape of any pan to get that last bit of grime. That said, these are still very good and I keep a generous supply of both kinds using different ones for different jobs.I also like the SOS Tuffy scouring pad for the same reasons. All are non absorbant and dishwasher safe.

I highly reccommend pan scrapers for fast, easy and thorough clean up. Once you have used them, you will never go back.

We use cast iron for everything...bacon, veggies, meat, eggs, etc and since you aren't supposed to use soap on cast iron, we bought these scrapers. We love them. We can scrape off the excess fat and sticky parts after cooking bacon or scrape egg residue after breakfast. We use these scrapers plus hot running water and the cast iron comes out clean with the seasoning still in tact. Highly recommend. And FYI, they are about the size of your palm.

I would rather have a scraper that is a touch thinner on the edge so that I could really dig into the cooked-on food on my pan, but this one works well enough.

Mexican Origins 10 inch Preseasoned Cast Iron Skillet

Mexican Origins 10 inch Preseasoned Cast Iron SkilletBought this 10" skillet over 10 years ago. Once I got it well seasoned it never failed me. Fish, beef, sausage, chicken and even peppers/onions come out great in this skillet. Clean up with just hot water and pot scrub brush and ready to go again. I would compare to Lodge. I have a 15" Lodge and it is built just as well. Highly recommended.

My cast iron skillet arrived when expected and in the condition expected.I already had an 8" and a 12" cast iron skillet and wannted to have the 10" size also because I loved the others!

Positive: The pan is great for the price. Not their fault: I forgot how heavy iron skillets can be.

I have read that iron cookware is a great way to add iron to your diet without taking a supplement. Honest! Plus I like the fact that I'm not dealing with non-stick coatings that aren't necessarily good for you. I read the reviews before purchasing the pan so I wasn't surprised when the cooking surface was a little bit bumpy unlike my grandmother's ancient skillet that is smooth on the bottom from a million years of use. My husband would prefer a pan that he can toss in the dishwasher but he supports my efforts to start living a healthier lifestyle. It's a good skillet and came nicely seasoned. It's a keeper.

As long time users of cast iron, we finally decided a second 10 inch skillet would be helpful. We purchased this skillet for 2 reasons: it lacked the "extra hand hold" opposite the skillet handle and other reviewers said it was superior to Lodge. This skillet is NOTHING like the cast iron we currently have. It cooks okay, but the surface of the skillet bottom is very rough, so the "quick wipe out" that we are accustomed to doing with our others is not possible with this one. Even with a lot of oil or lard, paper towels will snag on the surface and leave behind little fuzzy bits that I would prefer not to have with my next meal. The skillet does, however, heat uniformly and so cooking on it is acceptable.

Horrible!! The inside have what appears to be air bubbles. Also there was some sort of glue splashed on the pans. I had a gut feeling about this purchase. I'm returning these immediately and Purchasing Lodge brand. Lesson learned "ALWAY BUY PRODUCTS MADE IN THE USA"!!!

Boomerang Wok by Royal VKB VP1SF .832 13-Inch Frying Wok

Boomerang Wok by Royal VKB VP1SF .832 13-Inch Frying WokThe reason for the rating is that the item I received is not the award winning Boomerang Wok as pictured. What I received is an 8 inch ceramic bowl. The label on the carton says "Boomerang Wok 13" fry pan"clearly mislabeled. This is not intended as a product review but a warning to potential buyers who may receive the item from the same mislabeled batch.I just returned the item. This is probably the fault of the person responsible for stocking the item but who needs this extra hassleduring the busy holiday period.T. Teramaye

The Boomerang Wok has been wonderful so far. Great for stir frying but also great for flipping fried eggs, cooking tortillas, etc. The pan is very high quality and also very sturdy. It is a bit heavy for its size but that is of course due the extra metal required for the shape of the pot. It comes with a black fabric bag to cover the pan which I assume is to protect it from scratches etc from other pots and pans in the cupboard. Overall, this pan is a good investment in my opinion.

Berndes 697628 SignoCast Pearl Ceramic Coated Cast Aluminum 11-1/2-Inch Open Fry Pan/Skillet

Berndes 697628 SignoCast Pearl Ceramic Coated Cast Aluminum 11-1/2-Inch Open Fry Pan/SkilletI love this pan! Did a lot of research to replace my 5 year old Calphalon 12" "non-stick" pan. The Berndes brand in general was very highly recommended, and I like that the Pearl finish does not contain some of the usual harmful materials in non-stick surfaces. I can't believe how great this pan is. Eggs don't stick; nothing sticks -which means clean-up takes 2 seconds.

My older PTFE (Teflon) coated pan was wearing out, as the coating gets damaged over time, so I wanted a non-stick replacement pan.

My new Berndes ceramic coated pan is amazing! It's more non-stick than PTFE coated pans and more durable. I'm very happy with it. And as an extra bonus, it does all this without using PTFE.
